A recentDecades after the Rain of Death, a new journey begins in the Land of Fumes, where mystical powers lie beneath the earth. The kingdom's desire for conquest led to the creation of the Homunculi, machine-like artificial life forms prepared to execute the king's will. A recent resource-harvesting mission gone awry caused toxic vapors to emerge from underground, driving both man and machine to feral madness.

As the Homonculi devolve into dangerous creatures, guide Lilac - an "Attuner'' with the power to purify those infected by the fumes - on a quest to save the kingdom. With the help of friendly machines and spirits who fight in Lilac's stead, fend off mechanized legions of lunging carcasses, cannonball-firing corpses and chainsaw-wielding goblins terrorizing the land.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a metroidvania masterpiece. It captures the same melancholy feel of its predecessor, yet brings that feeling to a brand-new adventure that improves many of the gameplay elements. Ender Magnolia doesn't reinvent the genre, but it does a phemenonal job of executing the metroidvania formula in such a way that it's one of the best games in the genre. On top of stellar game mechanics, it has an incredible soundtrack and art direction that help create a beautiful and bleak world. Challenging but rarely frustrating, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a must-play experience.

ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist is a great sequel for a surprising Metroidvania. A new franchise is born, one that should prosper for years to come.

A worthy successor to Ender Lilies that enhances almost every aspect of the original, from level design to gameplay mechanics, while maintaining its gothic and melancholic aesthetic. Though the difficulty is more accessible with adjustable options, it still offers a solid challenge for those who seek it. The art and music remain outstanding, though the soundtrack can feel repetitive, and the game sticks too closely to its predecessor without introducing truly fresh mechanics.

A great sequel, even though it can't match its prequel, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is worth every minute spent with it.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a safe bet for both Ender Lilies fans and any player who loves the metroidvania genre. A continuous experience with respect to its predecessor, with a more narrative and somewhat more accessible approach, but equally polished in each and every one of its sections. As in the first part, the studio hits the mark by offering a very satisfying experience at the controls. Despite presenting a level design that is not too intricate, it is still a clear candidate for metroidvania of the year, at the expense of what Hornet has to say, if Silksong arrives in time for GOTY 2025, of course.

Gratifying combat, enjoyable platforming, and an impressive list of abilities help Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist comfortably overcome any minor missteps, however. Aided further through vibrant graphics and flawless technical performance, Adglobe and Live Wire have once again come together to showcase Metroidvanias at their best.

When Ender Lilies came out, it was a game that captured that side-scrolling feeling perfectly. Ender Magnolia hits all the notes as well, but it follows a game that was more original with a more engaging story. When crafting a sequel, one would hope that a new title would retain some of the spirit of the original work, but for Ender Magnolia, it feels more like a DLC than its own experience. Still, fans of Ender Lilies who want a new world to explore should check out Ender Magnolia.
