    Great Lovecraftian atmosphere and overall idea of the game is very pleasing.
    It lives to the hype.

    This is my first time ever reviewing a game, but I felt compelled to after playing this for about 4 hours today. It’s such a unique and interesting premise and so well executed that I had trouble putting it down. I mean, Lovecraftian horror fishing and exploration?! It sounded so strange on the tin that I had to try it especially for less than $30. I’m hooked.

    Such a relaxing and beautiful game. Not to difficult or to easy. Here there are, stories, exploration, puzzles, mysteries and let's not forget fishing. You can fish with many different methods for many different types fish, eels, crabs, sharks and more marine creatures. You can upgrade the equipment, your boat, engines and other things. I really love this game. The music and sounds of theSuch a relaxing and beautiful game. Not to difficult or to easy. Here there are, stories, exploration, puzzles, mysteries and let's not forget fishing. You can fish with many different methods for many different types fish, eels, crabs, sharks and more marine creatures. You can upgrade the equipment, your boat, engines and other things.     Fantastic game. My largest complaint is that the controls seemed more complex than they needed to be and that they could have simplified the dock experience.

    For an indie game dredge is right up there with Dead cells, Hades & Stray in my opinion. I love the peaceful & calm music and game play but at times , especially night, it will make you jump when something lurking under the water hits you. The massive fish selection & boat customization is great. There is no dialog but the writing is very minimal and just enough to tell the story.     Dripping with dread and exploration throughout, "Dredge" is all about catching mutated fish, upgrading your fishing rig, and experiencing some good ol' cosmic horror.

    Dredge is a fun and relaxing game. The graphics and fishing gameplay are incredible. I got a platinum for this game.

    Beautiful presentation; Addicting fishing gameplay; Fantastically spooky nighttime gameplay.
    Bad- The boat is very slow at the start; Precious inventory space is taken up by equipment you need. Thoughts- Finally, when you aren’t fishing, collecting, or dodging nightmares to maintain your sanity, you’re probably talking to the many characters who live on different islands    Good-

    Thoughts-
    Finally, when you aren’t fishing, collecting, or dodging nightmares to maintain your sanity, you’re probably talking to the many characters who live on different islands around The Marrows. They are all represented by character portraits, but the quality and style of each of those pieces of art convey the personalities and demeanors of the characters. Each character you meet also seems to indirectly deliver a piece of information that further fleshes out the situation in The Marrows as well as the overall story. Mysterious shipwrecks, a mayor gone mad, a person trying to get away from everything and start a new life on another island, a son lost to the sea. Each character has a unique story, and one that is worth seeing to its conclusion.    … Expand

    Amazing gameplay loop. Great game design with a love for Lovecraftian atmosphere. This game is a great 12 hour adventure that has a simple premise but satisfies on every aspect.

    The game mechanics are addictive with a combination of fishing minigames and inventory management. The atmosphere is also unique, as you can go from relaxed fishing at sometimes but increase the tension when the horror mood strikes. The storyline is also good, as it progresses without getting bogged down in unnecessary repetition.

    Atmosphärisch ist Dredge einfach ganz groß, aber auch in seinem Loop mehr als befriedigend umgesetzt. Auch die kleinen Geschichten und Dialoge? beziehungsweise die Wortwahl in diesen, habe ich sehr genossen. Viel liebe zum Detail. Danke dafür

    Never played a game that's able to alternate between soothing calm and mounting dread so seamlessly. Its a testament to the game's atmosphere and sound design that they're able to pull it off. Multiple times i'd find myself feeling almost too nervous to continue only to think "wait its a fishing game what am I scared of" and snapping out of it.     A very relaxing game with an interesting story, and a cool art style, but for me it was a bit too short for how interesting the whole game and story is like.

    Dredge successfully balances a rather serene fishing game with something rather more dark and sinister lurking beneath the surface. Despite the spooky eyes, tentacles, and things going splash in the night, it's really quite relaxing.

    Dredge erupted out of the left field as 2023’s most unforgettably creepy fishing simulator. Without spoiling anything, its slow dive into Lovecraftian horror intermingles with subtle elements of seabound thrillers like Jaws and Moby Dick, and yet despite its twists, its fishing and sailing mechanics are simple enough to be relaxing – just as long as you don’t stay out past dark. Its colorful graphics, intelligent story, and seafaring sound design are alluring, but calling it a management sim betrays how simple and approachable it is. Though it still may not excite anyone in search of abyssal depths, its world map, upgrade tree, and story offer more than enough interesting decisions of their own to make a 12-hour fishing expedition feel concise. At the same time, a lack of combat and meaningful customization give little weight to its excessive grinding, and these are clear opportunities for improvement on the next voyage.

    Dredge is a simple, yet incredibly atmospheric game, whose fluid gameplay, hand drawn art style and meaningful musical interludes makes for a very compelling experience.
