Dec 1, 2023Short and sweet, The Pale Reach offers the perfect excuse to return to the world of DREDGE. And as one of the best indie titles of the year, how could anyone refuse?
-
Nov 22, 2023It’s simple: if you enjoyed Dredge, you’ll enjoy The Pale Reach. While this DLC doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it offers a solid reason to return to one of this year’s best indie games. It’s a fairly small expansion, but for a budget price you’re getting new mysteries to unravel, new fish to catch and a new area to explore – what more could you want?
-
Nov 20, 2023Albeit criminally short, maybe because I can’t get enough of Dredge; The Pale Reach DLC is a wonderful expansion to dive into during the Winter season. A decent helping of new fish to discover and a terrifying mystery to uncover make for a great return to one of the best games of the year.
-
Nov 22, 2023Whilst Dredge: The Pale Reach is lacking depth and is more suited for new players experiencing this excellent cosmic horror fishing game for the first time, Black Salt Games gave me more of what I already love, and that's rarely a bad thing. I don't need much of an excuse to jump back into the world of Dredge, so here's hoping The Pale Reach is the first expansion of many more to come.
-
Nov 28, 2023The Pale Reach is an expansion that makes the core game even more special for first-timers, who will now be able to enjoy a more diversified experience. The additional content brings interesting new features and is recommended for veterans too, especially given its attractive price.
-
Nov 29, 2023The Pale Reach is just more Dredge, which is fine by me, another few hours of bobbing around in a boat, fishing, and being hunted by giant sea monsters, all of which is weirdly relaxing.
-
Dec 13, 2023The Pale Reach is a hard sell despite its minor price tag. The perils and tranquilities of the icefields, the new threat of the Urghal, and new fishes, diaries, and characters spruce up this expansion. However, The Pale Reach fails to provide more than just a passing journey through a glacial uncharted region due to its sparse one-hour length and lack of exciting new features. If you want more DREDGE, this is for you, but if not, this expansion won’t win you over as it’s too slight to engage over the long haul.
