The story at the heart of Disciples: Liberation perhaps isn’t the most engaging, and the voice acting is certainly questionable at times, but you’ll soon look past both issues and simply enjoy what the game does right. Nevendaar is a world densely populated with things to do, and Disciples: Liberation wants you to engage with it without bogging you down. What’s more, with most quests posing choices that could affect your standing with the factions present in the world and your companions, there’s plenty of soul-searching to be done. Ultimately, no matter which of the multiple endings you receive once your journey is over, you’ll remember having to make those tough decisions along the way.

Disciples Liberation is a solid effort from Frima and a good coming back for a long running franchise that has been absent for too long. It's a pity, then, that the game it's too easy and that dubbing and localization are sparse.

As interesting and tactical as that combat system is, I couldn't get past the fact that Disciples: Liberation was asking 80 (or more) hours of a person's time with so little payoff. I just found the whole thing too relentlessly miserable to connect with. It's possible to create a dark setting and still have moments of warmth, beauty and joy. Tolkien understood that. Perhaps those that have been inspired by him should be more diligent students.

Yes, it is not Disciples 2, but it is a deep turn based tactics RPG. Up to about 30 hours playtime right now and can’t see myself slowing down. Fantastic game, if you’re looking for something on console that heroes of might and magic-esque, you’ll feel right at home. Full Review »

I haven't played any games from this series before, so this review isn't like how the series used to be. I never heard of the series beforeI haven't played any games from this series before, so this review isn't like how the series used to be. I never heard of the series before this game was released. I did think this is a relatively good game but does have some flaws.

One thing that should be mentioned is that this game may cause a lot of crashes, although the developer said that they fixed a lot of it, I still experienced some crashes, including one hard crash where I had to unplug my ps5 as it wouldn't let me exit out of the game and it just froze during a battle. This only happened a few times for me during the middle of the game

Game length is around 50hrs, unless you are going to complete new game plus, but outside of some different dialogue which isn't that much, you have to play through the whole game again to face the true final boss. I think that's really a poor choice, and it's not worth playing through the game again just for that. The game didn't even need something like that as it's already a lengthy game to begin with. I think they only did that so it can inflate their gameplay time to 80 hours as they advertise.

The writing is pretty good, didn't have too many complaints about it. As for the voice acting it's really hit or miss, even for the main characters in battle they repeat the same voice lines OVER AND OVER again, and this is a long game. That's somewhat disappointing and definitely can get annoying. For some of the units, the voice acting is terrible. Most of the time though it's passable. But definitely not the best voice acting in a game.

I also felt like they added way too many things without explanation, and is somewhat confusing at first. Like you have items, then you have a skill tree, which the skill tree becomes way too powerful with tier 3 skill points. WHich makes yourr main character very weak at the beginning, and until you really get to like midway through tier 2 skills, she's not very useful in battle. In a way it makes sense when playing through the story, but you definitely have to rely on your companions and units a lot more in the beginning. Then there's also a thing that tells you how well you are liked by the different factions, I thought it was cool, but sometimes it wouldn't make sense why you would become less favorable with a faction after completing a quest.

As for the combat, it's somewhat like King's Bounty 2, and I thought it was pretty good. The game does have a nice feature of conquest so if your group is way stronger than another group you run into, you can just skip it and still get the XP for it, useful feature for sure.

Overall, I liked this game, but this isn't something I would really replay again.

The combat is decent but repetitive. The graphics and animations are good but the presentation and interface are sub par. The worst part is that there's no character creation, you're forced to play as a female character. There doesn't even seem to be a reason behind it as the story is as boring as they come. You cant even rename the generic units or equip them. Its nice that they tried to blend in different genres but it does none well enough to be worthwhile. The battles are repetitive and bland with tiny arenas so there's not much strategy. Don't waste your time on this, rather play an older title as you're guaranteed to have more fun than playing this title. Full Review »
