    Having bought a new PS5, I needed a gritty looking game to play. The premise for this post-"War of the World's" mash-up looked good, and basedHaving bought a new PS5, I needed a gritty looking game to play. The premise for this post-"War of the World's" mash-up looked good, and based on the price and the trailer, I threw my coins in the basket and downloaded.
    Mistake.
    From the initial "how do I move around" section to familiarise the player with the controls, I realised this was not the plush game I was used to playing. Hoping for a "Resistance-Fall of Man" type gameplay, I was woefully unimpressed. Character movement is poor - PS2 Tomb Raider did it better. Gameplay is jolty and graphics are bland. No motion capture here. Even the fake cockney voice didn't match your rugged 30something looks. Nothing adds up. I've played through 90mins, and had to switch off. So poor was the game, I had to find a way to review it just to give others warning. Now I know why Playstation Store doesn't have a review system for its games, as it wouldn't help shifting this game of the virtual shelf.
    Just accept that the Martians lost - and the world's gone to pot.. and leave it there. Buy it, and you'll regret it!    … Expand

It’s been out for months with no metacritic score and I was the dummy who bought it anyway. The game was grossly overpriced for what it is. It has like no story, the acting/accent is terrible, game mechanics not great- like no redeeming factors. It was like it wanted to be a big budget game but didn’t follow through on any of those expectations except for the price. Not engaging at all- don’t waste your money like I did.… Expand
