Jul 15, 2025Copycat is a heartfelt narrative adventure centered on themes of home, rejection, and belonging. With simple gameplay and a charming feline protagonist, it serves as an accessible entry point for newcomers to gaming. While its visuals and mechanics are limited, the emotional story makes it a memorable 5-hour experience.

Jul 8, 2025Copycat is a short and focused emotional story that is well worth playing through for any fan of narrative games and/or cat owners. While the game itself is solid, it is really the writing and emotional impact of the story that elevates Copycat from being just another animal-based 3D platformer. I defy anybody not to be moved by Dawn’s turbulent experiences and the game as a whole forced me to pause and give my own cats a cuddle more than once.

Jun 10, 2025For a three-hour adventure title, Copycat has something meaningful to say about mental health and relationships, yet it can be too often undercut by its rigid design, story happenings that don't make sense, and the overarching feeling that with more time, polish and backing there's an even greater game trying to burst out here. It's a pleasant and fine game for how short it is in spite of its gratuitous repetition, and deserves kudos for being adequately designed by two people, it's also in need of some significant refinement.
