Jun 1, 2026Constance is sending a message that is covered in this visually appealing, yet brutal Metroidvania game. While it doesn't introduce anything new, it still hold itself together as a great Metroidvania regardless.

May 18, 2026Constance is a pleasant surprise for fans of the genre and for those seeking deep narratives. It doesn't revolutionize the formula established by giants like Hollow Knight: Silksong, but it shines by using its mechanics as a powerful metaphor for mental exhaustion and the healing process. Despite its excessive linearity, the game compensates with good platforming challenges and balanced boss fights. A journey that may be uncomfortable and heavy for some, but which delivers a necessary final reward: hope.

Its outwardly dazzling visual style doesn’t obscure how stunning it is on the inside, too, with its slick controls and admirable, polish-driven modesty. So while it doesn’t paint the most innovative and groundbreaking picture — an extremely tough task in a genre crowded with classics — it still paints a beautiful one, nonetheless.
