    Portal 2, Talos Principle, the Witness…and Bonfire Peaks. Bonfire Peaks puzzles have very few moving parts and yet the difficulty is astounding…unlike many puzzle games with a convoluted mess that provides a counterfeit difficulty without good design or any design…( example like tying a ball of yarn into 10,000 knots and believing it’s good puzzle design due to its difficulty) The lastPortal 2, Talos Principle, the Witness…and Bonfire Peaks. Bonfire Peaks puzzles have very few moving parts and yet the difficulty is astounding…unlike many puzzle games with a convoluted mess that provides a counterfeit difficulty without good design or any design…( example like tying a ball of yarn into 10,000 knots and believing it’s good puzzle design due to its difficulty) The last segment of puzzles all initially seem impossible and yet simple enough to verify “it must be impossible”. I’ve never seen such consistently brilliant design and I’ve played a plethora of puzzle games. Hard Core puzzle game, buyer beware.… Expand

    Eines der besten Puzzle Spiel aller Zeiten
    Die Puzzles sind clever, sehr clever und teilweise sehr schwer.
    Nichtsdestotrotz ist das Spiel sehr fair. Man muss nicht alle 202 (!) Puzzles lösen, um das Spiel abzuschließen.

    In diesem Spiel steckt sehr viel Gehirnschmalz. Respekt.

    While the puzzling itself racks your brain adequately, if frustratingly, the real pull of Bonfire Peaks is its ability to make you feel personal nostalgia through mementos—the memories that shaped you, both happy and sad. Topping it off with pleasant voxel pixel art and a rousing soundtrack, the game offers a distinctly unique experience.

    As you approach the titular peaks, your brain will feel the burn more often than those boxes. But if you’re stuck on one puzzle, there are always others in each set to try. And in a final stroke of genius, the PS5 version offers Activity cards with short video solutions to all 200-plus puzzles if you feel the heat. With a moody score lending a distinctive, haunting ambience,2 this is one of the most satisfying, generous puzzle games in yonks. [Issue#7, p.90]
