    Awful game. Wave after wave of bullet sponge enemies run at you while your guns feel like pea shooters. Impossible to shove groups of zombies away from you making movement and escape impossible. Zombies come from all angles. Unable to remove weapon mods. Random gear system is annoying and the card system also feels like another big chore. Buy on a large sale only

    If you like shooting zombies and that's it, then this is the game for you. If you want a game that offers more than just pointing and shooting, then this is not the game for you.
    This game is worth £15 at best. The story can barely even be classed as that and the levels are exactly the same only with a slightly different skin.

    Being as this is a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, the fact that they left out split screen, which is basically the only way I played Left 4 Dead, has ruined this before I even played it. Then they took progression away for single player. If you didn't want people to play solo or with friends at home why did you not make it online only.

    Bought it and started playing only to be extremely disappointed when my wife sat next to me and tried to play. A game that could have been good, but lacks local co-op. Such a waste of money. Seeing it as a “spiritual successor” to Left 4 Dead, and that it was all about co-op play, I didn’t suspect they would leave out couch co-op. This is the only way my wife and I play games, and it’s sadBought it and started playing only to be extremely disappointed when my wife sat next to me and tried to play. A game that could have been good, but lacks local co-op. Such a waste of money.     As a spiritual successor for Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood is great to pick up with a few friends by your side, no matter on what platform they play - at least for a night or two. Although it´s gameplay is really fun besides some annoying bugs and horrid soloplay, the game fails to offer enough endgame-content to motivate much further than for it´s six to ten hour long campaign.

    Made the mistake of buying this game digitally on ps5. I wanted to love it from all the media I saw, I didn't get to try the betas. Over the 3 hours of gameplay I've put into it its caused my ps5 to just shut down as if the power cord was ripped out 4 or 5 times. Sony refused to give me a refund say it's doesn't qualify as faulty since not enough people have complained with this sameMade the mistake of buying this game digitally on ps5.     Poor visual clarity. The bloated diversified ammo pools really slow you down. Melee just feels awful. The characters and dialogue are so generic and bland.

    This game is trash. Spiritual successor to L4D, my a**. Graphics are crap for a nextgen console and the gameplay is just boring and confusing. The card system is an unnecessary mess. Worst of all, they left out the best part of L4D which was the campaign co op with the ability to play as the infected. (not that it would matter with the terribly bland infected they created for this game).

    All I ever wanted from L4D was a reason to play each level more than once, and finally B4B has enough variables, build customization, and progression system to make that worthwhile. I love being able to change my build with the card system, grab a gun and attachments I want, and then play MY way.

    Level variety and mission objectives are generally way better than I expected.     the game is utterly dog **** typical wanna be zombie army and tries to be realistic but is so bad. the cards are so terrible and useless you mind as well do the game without them. overall the game is worth $20 peace.

    Terrible maps, oh sorry i mean MAP. Its only one city and forest nearby. U play it few configuration day/night - some path are closed but yay its all time same boring location. Add to this terrible special mutants and u have average game like world war z. Its far away from l4d

    This reminded me a lot of Left 4 Dead 2. Get from one safe room to the next, you might have an extra optional objective to do, there are about 4 special enemy types along with normal enemies that swarm you easily.

    There are 3 in game currency systems. The first is finding these treasure coins while playing that let you spend on the shop located in each safe house. Then there is the card    This reminded me a lot of Left 4 Dead 2. Get from one safe room to the next, you might have an extra optional objective to do, there are about 4 special enemy types along with normal enemies that swarm you easily.

    There are 3 in game currency systems. The first is finding these treasure coins while playing that let you spend on the shop located in each safe house. Then there is the card system. It gives you an ability of modification to the game like increase your ammo capacity by 10% or add a knife to your melee that counts as your melee. The director has "Corruption cards" or random mods that will make your game harder like add in extra enemies or create hazards for you. The 3rd currency shows up after the tutorial and you get "Supply points". There are these specific lines you spend these on to unlock extra cards and cosmetics for your character.

    Graphics are okay, not the best but also not the worst. The only thing I found annoying so far with them is the fog is a bit much. Most of my screen was that grayish white color from the fog making it hard to see even in front of you at times.

    Controls remind me of Left 4 Dead two, almost to how the controls were back then. I did not notice any issues with input lag or any problems with this as I noticed. If the controls seem slow, there are sensitivity options that you can definitely turn up since the default is 24 out of 100.

    The weapons you find can have 4 mods added to them either during the game or at a shop you unlock after the tutorial. You can have 1 sight, 1 under barrel, one magazine, and one stock mod added to it. The nice thing is when you hover over another weapon, you can easily see if it is better than your current weapon and basic stats for it, and if it has mods on it. You also get 1 support item, one healing item, and one offensive item.

    You start off with 4 characters unlocked, and there are 4 other characters to unlock as well. They have abilities that can help the team over all like team stamina +25% and a solo abilities like +10% damage resistance. They will have a specialty weapon they use as well like specific fire arms or melee weapons.

    One draw back I see is it seems to push a bit for filling your lobby with players. The AI seems to be better than Left 4 Dead and did not have very many wtf moments during the tutorial, but like trying to get out of an area when a timer was going, they were programmed to worry about the enemies, or that's what it looked like.

    SO overall, not a bad game, I've recently played worse games, but not overwhelmingly awesome must play all the time type also.    … Expand

    * Passive stats customization through cards system which are easily unlocked through gameplay.
    * Maps variety.
    * Gameplay is smooth and responsive.

    Overall a solid and fun game.

    Complete garbage. This is no where as near as good as L4D2. How they have the audacity to price this game so high is beyond me. Buy World War Z Aftermath which is a million times better than this, or save your money for one of the truly next gen titles. This game is an embarrassment.

    Another great improvement.
    Finally, the full version is out but what you see is not better than the beta.
    Many mistakes were fixed but the bots are still stupid like bread.
    If you play with a random troupe it's lucky enough to have good players.
    Unfortunately, the degree of difficulty fluctuates between fair and impossible.

Graphics aren’t terrible, but certainly not as crisp as they should be for a next generation title. Missions get stale very quickly. I have yet to try the veteran or nightmare difficulties due to a lot of talk about how broken and unbalanced they are in terms of difficulty, but for aStory is absolutely pathetic and completely forgettable.     I really wanted to like this game, nay LOVE this game. I played l4d1-2 and wwz a bit too much, and honestly enjoy most zombie shooters. This...this feels off.
    The graphics are good, better than most swarm shooters. The sound is decent.
    But things are just not clicking for me. Gameplay is not satisfying. Shooting a zombie feels laggy, and damage is quite random.     So all in all, it may not be Left 4 Dead and while there are things missing, in the end however, Back 4 Blood is a very good game that is worth the time to play and recommend.

    C'est un jeu mobile. Encore et toujours ces micros transactions. Le nom change mais à mes yeux c'était le retour de left 4 dead mais au final on a cette merde. Gameplay ps3 sans âme aucun personnage de charismatique et des le lancement on sent le si tu paie pas tu n'aura rien de cool. J'avais mis 3 par honnêteté mais vue que certain ose mettre 10 à cet étron voilà.

    No evolution at all since left 4 dead.

    This game looks and feels like a 2015 game ...

    Lack of content on base game and ... guess what ... 100$ super deluxe edition with more skins and stuff.

    Zombie physics are really bad, there is no dismemberment anymore ...

    Worst maps than previous left 4 dead games.

    The game modernises the zombie wave shooter with more depth introduced using the card system which makes the game way more replayable. Not to mention the level Bar room blitz is one of my favourite ever gaming moments with my friends.

    Great game. I was such a fan of Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood and this game hasn't disappointed!
    The gameplay is fun, and guns feel really solid. I also really like the card system, although it's early days figuring it out but it adds a nice dynamic I think other players will really enjoy.

    It's simply not very good the controls are clunky the currency thing is just annoying and the zombies will literally just come out of the ground right next to you the characters are just annoying and it's weirdly slow honestly Left 4 Dead 2 with a much better games just play that generic mess

    The game lasted 20 minutes on my hard drive. It is not bad but it's a common place of things I already played in other games. I cannot see any improvement or innovation. It is just "another zombie shooter" like Left4Dead or World War Z.

    The gameplay is so boring and repetitive. The AI in this game is incredibly stupid. The physics are beyond horrible. When my character died and fell into the water, there were no splash physics present. Not to mention that the textures are so awful in this game. There are some bugs and glitches. The sound effects are a joke. The story is terrible and the missions are boring and repetitive. There is no split screen.

    There is no offline modes in this game. So once the developers decide to switch off the servers, this game will end up in the trash can. Charging $60 for a game with no offline play is a cashgrab. Remember when developers gave us an option for online or offline? Now they give us only half of the experience at full price. I don't recommend this game at all. This should be a free-to-play game.    … Expand

The card system forces to choose cards at every stage, this was slightly faster in the beta, but somehow they managed to made it worse.     All in all, I don't recommend paying it's current price for this game. If you want to try it get game pass trial (both pc and xbox), if you don't have it already.    … Expand

    This game oozes all of the things that I loved about the original left 4 dead games with a lot of graphical and gameplay improvements. Idk why everyone is complaining about the card system. I like it and think it makes play more dynamic between runs. Definitely adds replay value. Just PLEASE let us access the store in safe houses while people are in the process of joining.

    Great action and mayhem make for a fun game. High tension whilst being swamped by hordes which is backed up by great level design and environments. I can see myself playing this for a long time to come.

    Es bastante pasable y entretenido, y mejor aun con amigos, pero jugar con randoms o solo q no siempre es divertido si es que son gente nueva en este género, juego solo para los fans de L4D sin duda, recomendado sólo para jugar con amigos, futuras actualizaciones nos dirán como le irá al juego.

    What can I say, Left4Dead 2 was the game where I met some of my best friends, I was really worried the wouldn’t capture what made it a great game but they did, great game, awesome with friends, delivers exactly what it promised.
    Thanks you so much for the nostalgia feeling!

    Overall good representation of what a left 4 dead game should be for newer gen consoles. The controls are a bit clunky to get used to. But overall gaming with friends is a blast and plenty of difficulty to keep u playing. The cards are a good addition to the game play mechanics. It can make or break a good or bad run.

    What the hell is this card system? That just prevented me from playing the game. I just wanted a mindless shooter, now I would have to always deal with those bloody cards. Instant delete, thanks for nothing Gamepass.

    Left 4 Dead is legendary we all know that. But Back 4 Blood is too. I have not had this much fun playing a new game with friends since Fortnite first came out. Or back with I used to play Halo with friends all the time. I definitely recommend B4B...you won't regret the purchase.

It is tense not in terms of complexity, but in terms of the lack of some kind of flow. The level design is poor. The technical part, the animations are very bad.     good game just like the left 4 dead games but less fun and comical. but only fun to play if you have 3 other friends, not randoms. solo is no fun. the a.i. is pretty bad. you can make it through but the bots do little besides fire and draw attacks. if there's an objective, say board up windows or collect some bomb and plant it they don't help. they also get stuck and left behind a lot.good game just like the left 4 dead games but less fun and comical. but only fun to play if you have 3 other friends, not randoms. solo is no fun. the a.i. is pretty bad. you can make it through but the bots do little besides fire and draw attacks. if there's an objective, say board up windows or collect some bomb and plant it they don't help. they also get stuck and left behind a lot. i'm not sure i've seen them use items like grenades but they will heal you. there is a little unnecessary complexity like no universal ammo pick-up so it takes extra time to find the right ammo for the right gun. similarly for opening crates... it just takes more time to see what you get, manage.... at least playing solo i've not seen that i can change characters between segments and you can't pick weapons between either. so you're stuck with your character and weapon load out from the very beginning to the very end as far as i can see. that may apply only to solo. i don't think the physics act as well as in the prior games. the zombies don't seem to behave as uniquely to the environment. personally the currency and card system don't add anything for me and if anything are more a nuisance. i'd rather be able to pick the gun i want between rounds than buy it.… Expand

    Es más un remake del left for dead que un titulo con personalidad propia pero es tan divertido como el anterior.... Lo estoy disfrutando con mis amigos como el anterior.. asik para mi es un titulo que me dara muchas de diversión.

    You'll definitely love this game if you loved Left 4 Dead, because it's essentially the same thing just slightly updated.

    An '8' is about as high as I can go, as there really isn't anything all that innovative about it. But overall it's good simple fun.

    This is a very addicting game. Strong co-op and overall a fun zombie game. It is very hard and sometimes it can be overwhelming but as co-op is concerned it could not be a better team work zombie game.

    Swarm mode is useless. Spray, clothing, gun skin, banners, all useless. Stop this flooding of worthless items to collect just to make you work longer to get you on track. This gaming culture is just make-up for lack of content and personality.

    This is a fun shooter still but it feels trivial, short and disposable. You won't be Back 4 More Blood...    … Expand

    The game is simply amazing. So smooth, so fun. I love this kind of zombie mower games and this is by far the best one. Long time fan of L4D (1&2) and this is a worthy successor for people loving the campaign mode.

    The game starts running you through the tutorial mission, you can choose this to be solo or with a selection of other online players. After this you land in Fort Hope, a stronghold where you can do a variety of things such as create decks, customise weapons/appearance, visit the shooting range and set up new missions.

    You can create runs on Recruit, Veteran or Nightmare, however each difficulty has it’s pros and cons.

    On Recruit difficulty friendly fire is disabled and you’ll miss out on 50% supply points, Veteran has a friendly fire rate of 35% but you will earn the base amount of supply points whereas Nightmare difficulty will provide 60% damage to teammates if you accidentally shoot them, you’ll also earn an extra 50% Supply Points for daring to play this setting.

    You start each level choosing your deck of cards to give you that little extra boost, however the game also deals you some corruption cards. These make the challenge more difficult and also ask you to complete challenges for extra copper. These challenges include Speed Run, Keep the Squad alive, don’t startle any birds and a host of others. The cards that get played at the start of each round ensure that no round is ever the same, meaning you constantly have to adapt and think of new ways around the mission at hand. On one occasion I had to complete the mission within 10 minutes and get to the safe room, I literally missed out by 1-2 seconds and in another mission with the corruption card it was lights out and you can only use your torchlight. It’s tense stuff.

    Supply Points is the currency used to purchase new cards and customisable options from the Supply Lines store. Supply Points may be earned by completing chapters in Campaign and Versus. The chapters give additional Supply Points if you play on harder difficulty settings. It’s a classic case of Risk equals reward.

    In each save room, there is a shop to buy things ranging from ammo, attachments, defibrillators and accessories such as health packs, barbed wire and throwables.

    You’ll often come across certain environmental hazards that will alert the hordes, without spoiling too much the birds are one of the elements where if you startle the birds, the undead will come at you in their drones and waves.

    AI reads the situation well by dropping ammo for you if you happen to run out, they also heal you as well if you need it. The same can’t be said about multiplayer as ammo seems very scarce and players want to reserve any ammo they have to themselves, well at least in my experience that seemed the case. You’ll also notice that item placements are different on each run.

    Gunplay feels smooth and very responsive, however much like most modern FPS you do have the option to adjust your sensitivity to see fit. Each weapon is customisable at safe houses where you can attach a choice of attachments by using the copper you find/earn throughout the levels. Attachments can also be found during your playthrough, much like most games the attachments feature a common, rare, epic rating etc…Handy to know if you’re looking to maximise your gun to its full potential.

    Swarm is the multiplayer aspect of this game. At the outset, teams are randomly allocated as Cleaners or Ridden. Cleaners start the round and have an allocated time to Scavenge crates to find weapons and equipment. When the Scavenge phase is through, common Ridden will arrive, and the Ridden team will be able to spawn in. The “Swarm” is a shrinking circle inspired by Battle Royales, in which Cleaners will receive continuous damage if they are outside. The Cleaners’ aim is to stay alive as long as possible; the clock will start counting down as long as at least one Cleaner is standing with at least one hit point. When there are none, the time stops and the teams change.
    After both teams have attempted to survive as Cleaners once, the round concludes. The round is won by the team that survives the longest.

    Replay value for this game is insane, I say insane a good way! So as mentioned earlier you can play new runs, and each time you do a new run the corruption cards will all be random ensuring that no playthough is ever the same.    … Expand

    If you love Left 4 Dead this is the game for you!! Mechanics are great story line is fun. Guns work pretty well. I really enjoy the card system which definitely can be to your advantage or disadvantage depending on the corruption cards and what cards you choose to counter them. It does not have a extremely hard learning curve. If you like killing zombies and having a good time with 3 ofIf you love Left 4 Dead this is the game for you!! Mechanics are great story line is fun. Guns work pretty well. I really enjoy the card system which definitely can be to your advantage or disadvantage depending on the corruption cards and what cards you choose to counter them.     I've played a lot of back 4 blood in the past couple of days. I also have played about 5k hours of L4D2 and 2k L4D1 ive beaten all acts on Vet and halfway through nightmare. Safe to to say I'm a really big fan of these games and their archetype. I think B4B scratches that itch of needing a new zombie co-op experience and don't believe the people on here who claim that WWZ is a betterI've played a lot of back 4 blood in the past couple of days. There are a ton of positives that people will like and quite a few negatives. I'll make it short as possible this game needs to be amazing imo

    -Copy paste L4D versus mode
    -Tune down Special Infected Health values
    -less emphasis on card system more on player skill
    -add better animations(some are down right bad)
    -stop making everything in this game knock you back 20 ft
    - add an actual lobby system that allows us to change the amount of continues we want
    -stop spawning 10 more Special infected when a person goes down because this absolutely happens
    -give better audio cues to when Specials spawn
    -zombies need to stop teleporting behind you and having the wingspan of Kevin Durant
    - Add a mode between recruit and Vet because that jump in skill required is astronomical
    -too much focus on weakpoints being the only way to quickly down S.I especially with Tallboys and crushers.

    I'm sure there are a ton of things that need adjustment, but all in all this game is really fun to play just be prepared to really hunker down with your team and use teamwork and basic game knowledge to succeed    … Expand

The various enemy types are also less interesting and don’t require the same level of teamwork to defeat as those in Left 4 Dead, and whilst the cards that allow players to customise their characters skills and abilities do add some variety, they’re not enough to make up for all that’s been lost.

    Had I never played Left 4 Dead I’m sure I’d have enjoyed Back 4 Blood more, but as it is I’d much rather just go back and play Valve’s titles over again.    … Expand

    Runs well, looks decent, way too many poor design decisions, poorly balanced rosters, terrible difficulty scaling. Most players still stuck playing the base difficulty. Developers seem to not care based on the lack of patching.

    Should have been a F2P thing with a battlepass and characters sold seperately, then at least they'd be motivated to balance their game.

    To me it’s 10..after Returnal this is the game that I enjoyed and spend thousand hours and going to spend more..I love everything about it.the art design..music..atmosphere..gunplay and gameplay..everything is perfect..two thumbs up!can’t wait for the dlc’s.

I just advise to turn off aim-assist. So absurb to have implemented such strong aim-assist when you have zombies everywhere on your screen....My main issue is that zombie physics and gore are justGoing back to the game now you can find it at 30€, i find the game much more enjoyable.The game is beautiful, the card system is interesting.     Great continuation of the L4D series!
    The expansions adds many additions such as new weapons, new infected types, two ACT campaigns and more varied scenery.
    Anyone who liked Left 4 Dead, or likes zombie shooters in general, should definitely give this one a go.

    This is a great game, the graphics are really good and the gameplay is amazing. The card set up is a great idea too. Overall a really well put together game and having a blast playing it.

Looking at the game from a fair point of view I can say the following.

    Pros:
    * Visually appealing art style and graphics
    * Satisfying combat and slaying
    * A difficult game in general (pro and a con depending on the person)
    * Replayability to some extent (an average player can easily have 50+ hrs in the game without getting bored)
    * 2 very different type of game modes

    Cons:
    * Character and weapon customization is exteremely limited.
    * Currently only 8 playable cleaners which most are pretty similar to each other.
    * No split screen co-op (I think it would be a really nice addition)

    Turtle Rock have brought some new game improvements and brought down the difficulty of the game slightly which is a good thing. I do believe that the game currently is a very enjoyable and a very fun game, especially to play with friends. I also believe that Turtle Rock will radically improve the game through time.    … Expand

The bosses are a joke, they are all mediocre bullet sponges. The cleaner have the worst dialog of any game I played (this was the first time I need to mute voices of characters(+1 for that option)), they are not real pearsons, have 0 facial impressions. The "history" is laughable, its simple, full of the cliches of any zombie apocalypse media, it could be good, even with cliches, but the struct its so bad, the writing is ridiculous bad. The swarm mode its only there to say "yes we have pvp", because it would be to much bad press with they did not have any pvp mode. There is no keyboard + mouse support ONE YEAR after the game release, this game costs 60$ for the default edition wtf... Seems like they are fixing the game until this day, but after a couple of matches, u never leave that fealling that your are playing a beta game, its not polish at all. The explosion and molotov effects are bad as its was a student project. The gore and death animations are the simplest you il ever see in a game, speaking about animations, wtf its the cleaners animations... When somene is haging by a ledge, you need to help him to get up, but in the animation he just get up alone, you do like a encoraging speach to him get up hahaha. If the game was free, its would be not worth, because your time its not free. I really waited for this game, hyped as hell, trs was one of my favorite studios before evolve, but man, this game is heartlesss, souless, its just a easy money grab, from pearson who keep lying about beeing the makers of left 4 dead. Dudes, maybe u gave the first ideia, maybe you where there from the start, but u guys did the game with the STUDIO, there where a lot of pepople envolved, responsible for the masterpiece that it become to be, stop being a **** lyears, grown your studio in your own merits.     This is a super fun game, the card system is a great add. The graphics, and gameplay mechanics as very well done also. I am assuming the people that rated it as 0 have never played the game and just have a hate for it, for some reason.

    It feels to me the developers really don't understand guns or the damage each one does. Some guns are weaker than they should be and others stronger.
    Multiplayer is cool but seems rather one sided.
    Left 4 Dead did this way better. At best this engine is jank.

    Without Valve, Turtle Rock studios cannot create a AAA gaming experience. They have no concept of what makes a horror game scary, nor did they take the time to reflect on what made Left 4 Dead so successful. Incredibly weak game. Very lazy and uninspired.

    Das Spiel ist ziemlich Langweilig! Die Charaktere sind alle katastrophal. Die Karten im Spiel machen es einem sehr schwer. Als l4d fan eine miese Enttäuschung.

    Game is pretty good, technically it's almost perfect, I haven't seen any critical bugs at all. Gameplay is 8/10, deck building mechanic provides pretty good replayability. It was really surprising to find a lot of free content in game (player and guns skins mostly). PVP mode differs from L4D pretty much, but after a couple of hours you would like it.     Alles in allem ein tolles Spiel das einfach nur viel zu wenig Inhalt hat. Mehr Maps und Modi müssen her und zwar schnell. Denn davon abgesehen läuft es top, sieht gut aus und macht echt Spass

    Pegou o hype do left 4 dead que é amado por tantos fãs, mas esse jogo é asqueroso, é pior que o left 4 dead em todos os aspectos, tem um sistema ridículo de cartas fisica estranha, a unica coisa legal é o gráfico... um lixo! Não recomendo a ninguém.

    This game is horrible one of the worst games ever to play in cooperative, very bad indeed besides being a crappy game on high difficulties it becomes too stupid even to play with three friends,,,,,,one of the worst cooperative games of all time , for myself the worst ever

    The main game is a beautifully balanced blast of team-shooter perfection. Who needs a story when the action is this good? It’s only let down by unnecessary PvP. [Issue#8, p.82]

    Turtle Rock Studios has once again created a fantastic co-op shooter with Back 4 Blood. The game is good when playing solo, but amazing when playing with three friends. The gameplay, characters, and card system make the game dynamic and create another dimension for us to enjoy. These things are so great, making the cookie-cutter story and the repetitiveness of the environments just a bit more painful and unfortunately, these elements hold the game back.

    Back 4 Blood is a great game when played with other people, truly evoking the spirit of Left 4 Dead for a new generation of gamers. This time there’s the incentive of a progression system to keep players coming back, although the Corruption Cards don’t always make those repeated playthroughs as unique as they should. For those wanting to play on their own, it would be best to wait until the game has been patched to include single player progress. Hopefully that shouldn’t be too much longer.
