I really, really wanted to like Archer, but the Archer table is the weakest of the 4. No rhyme or reason to the skillshot, rule set seems complicated, and the setup of the table is weak. Aforementioned skillshot is more luck than skill, Archer's car placed near the front of the play field largely gets in the way. Only 1 upper playfield flipper adds little, mini games are dull.

The other 1 I had so much hope for, Bob's Burgers, was less of a letdown but still not great. Playfield is mostly ramps, again skill shot makes no sense, mini games mostly involve spamming ramp shots. 1 upper playfield flipper I have still never gotten to use in about 20 plays.

Family Guy was a pleasant surprise- right from start with skill shot and Joe Swanson plunger. Varied play field creates good mix of ramps and targets to aim for. Mini games like "Peter vs. the Chicken" are fun and the right level of difficult. Enjoy the special balls for the game's characters- nice mix up of characters using the major (Griffins, Quagmire) and minor ones (Herbert, Mayor West) alike.

The best table, perhaps surprisingly due to it probably being the least popular show, was American Dad. Creative use of all the characters with mini games and targets (such as Klaus' fishbowl) and running bits from the show, such as "Wheels and the Legman" and Steve and Snot's air guitar. Most varied play field of the 4, mostly enjoyable multiball action as well. Only knock is that the character's comments get a tad repetitive.

While the visual style of the cell-shaded tables took a little getting used to, the overall pinball experience proved to be fantastic. Fans of these shows will definitely enjoy seeing how Zen has adapted them to the pinball world, especially those who love Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers.

That leaves the package, as a whole, as entirely worth it, and another set of great additions to Zen’s ever growing library.

Zen Pinball has an amazing sense of physics for the most part, only let down by overactive bumpers.
