I'm going to start this by saying, that this is game is not kind to people who haven't played Yu-Gi-OH!! in a while. As someone who has picked up the physical game last year and learning how the modern format is played. This game is great, cheaper than the actual card game, with great free-to-play gamers. And having just recently reached platinum (highest rank currently) without spending money that is saying something. Why this game is exciting for TCG players is because the game uses a format that is a mix of OCG and TCG which creates a breath of fresh air.

Now the downside of this game is that it is not friendly to brand new players or returning players who picked this game up. One being is that it doesn't inform players of the meta or format. While the solo mode does teach you mechanics it does not teach you Technical play which is important in all card games. Secondly, The game doesn't teach you how to make a deck to play. If you go through the entire solo mode and get about 4,000 in-game currency you'll probably start buying some packs. Well you buy packs to get a deck you saw in a ranked match or on a video but try to make it a bit of your own. That new players won't understand one how to play the decks they pick up because there's no testing and also they don't understand how the process of putting cards together should interact. A very minor problem is this game doesn't explain common knowledge of there being three ways to basically play this game now (Control,Combo and Mid range). The last problem for new players is that they won't understand staples which the really good ones are really hard to get through packs which means you have to craft or whale for them. Crafting is easy way but the reason it's a problem for new players is that they won't understand why they need them so they won't craft them and end up getting frustrated with the game for the pace without getting cards the work in sowing the game down.

Overall it's a great game for people who are actively playing the game not so great for brand new/returning new players.

This game is amazing! It's the Yu-Gi-Oh! game I always wanted Konami to develop. You can build any deck you want for free as long as you craft the cards correctly. The game is crossplataform and also has crossplay between consoles, PC, and smartphones. The story mode about the cards/archetypes is fun and unique, but I wish we get an anime story mode in the future, like the ones we had onThis game is amazing! I also wish Konami supports this game for like 10 years.

For experienced players, this game is fun and also challenging thanks to the lot of strategies the card game has today. However, newcomers players, fans of the anime/manga, and Duel Link players (who have no contact with the Master Duel format) will get frustrated most of the times because of how long the experienced players takes to end their turns and because of how strong their boards can get within 1 turn.

Started out pretty good. You get some starter decks from playing the solo mode but as soon as you're in PvP duels. It's the usual pay to win bs I've come to expect from Yu-Gi-Oh. When you can summon multiple tribute monsters in your opening turn who needs the heart of the cards you've already won.

I won't review the game Yugioh itself, of which the game is a faithful adaptation. I will review the framework though. The game is free2play and unlocking cards is easy, you can build 1 deck or 2 with no issues without paying a cent or playing much.

Once you run out of points to unlock cards (which you will eventually) the game becomes a tedious grind. Tedious is the perfect word to describe the game as a whole. The implementation of the game is ridiculously clunky and slow. Menuing takes too long, between every screen you will be interrupted by a loading screen.

Playing your turns takes too long and feels clunky, you will wait more than input actions. Reacting on enemy actions feels the same. Enemy turns take forever (you can spend between 5 to 10 minutes waiting regularly).
The pacing of the game is even further plagued by terrible servers on Konami's side. The translation is loveless and feels cheap and rushed. The avatars and icons feel that way too.
    I could not find bugs.

Overall it is a typical Konami post-2010 game, rushed and feels like a cash-grab.

Downloaded as I used to enjoy the anime … this is very disappointing & every bit as poor as I hoped it wouldn’t be … even though it’s free! It is just a waste of hard drive space on my ps4 & a drain on the wifi.
Takes FOREVER to duel, with frequent drops & “connection failed” messages - even though my mobile has full wifi signal - mirrored by others comments.
The game does not flow well,

The game does not flow well, card descriptions aren’t always accurate / give the cards full battle details & the effects often contradict what they are supposed to do.
If you enjoy playing old fashioned card games with Alzheimer’s patients, or blindfolded so neither of you can see the cards or what you have, this is definitely THE game for you!!!
If, on the other hand, you prefer the game to play out as it’s supposed to, so that you can actually play it, then you won’t enjoy this, so don’t waste your download time, bandwidth or hard drive space!!
