    The first reboot was probably my favourite FPS game of the generation. The visceral gunplay was unmatched and the story was awesome. Better than the majority of game stories. This game is even better in every way. Absolutely love this game. Buy it, you won't regret it if you like great gunplay, characters and story. It's like playing a game produced by Quentin Tarantino.

    This is a loud, colourful, game that is a pure joy to play, but also has a story, characters, and voice acting, that will give you more than just Nazi-killing fun. At times, it was a bit shocking, and certainly topical, even 4 years after its release.
    Gameplay is similar to the predecessor, with a few nice tweaks, such as weapon upgrades, more perks, and the ability to dual wield any two weapons (which for me was a minor game-changer.) It feels really smooth - in the first level you're in a wheelchair the entire time - but it doesn't feel clunky at all. I'm sure you can get this game cheaply now - definitely worth doing so.    … Expand

    The game is brilliant, the best FPS this year and even better than the first games. The graphics are amazing even on base PS4.     I am enjoying this game tremendously. It is more of the same as in the previous two games but bolder and more funny with much better graphics , music, jokes, cut scenes, enemies and weapons. if enjoyed previous two games then you will enjoy this one. if you enjoy any first person shooters then you will enjoy this game. Do not rush this game, just wait and listen to what people areI am enjoying this game tremendously.     This is an excellent and addictive shooter, really hard to stop playing once you get started. My favorite thing about it is the story, playing as Terror-Billy and joining up with his revolutionary comrades and taking the country back from the nazi scourge. Soon we will actually have to do this so it's best to get in practice and desensitize yourself to it now. All the 0 ratings are by sad white supremacists who can't bring themselves to shoot their kkklancestors. Also the game includes a full playable version of Wolfenstein 3D (slightly altered) which is a nice bonus. The game should provide enough entertainment to pass the time until FarCry 5 comes out, another game that the fragile white supremacist fascists who get offended by everything want to ban. They truly hate us and our freedoms. 10/10 game, should be mandatory re-education.… Expand

    Everything is on the top level, production quality is simply stunning, not less than parent company (id Software) has.
    And this is just the best Wolfenstein game. And one of the best games ever made.

    Gorgeous, Violent, cathartic and an excellent litmus test to find nazi sympathizers amongst your social circle.

    On a serious note, this game is much more emotional, meditative and thoughtful than I would have ever expected.
    The most relevant game in years.

    As amazing and awesome as the last.Great graphics and controls, great story. Its not perfect. But I am giving it a 10 to counter all the S**theads who think any of this is about the current political climate. That is why there is a disproportionate number of 0s. Spoiler alert. Every Wolfenstein game since the first on Atari has Nazi bad guys. Literally every one.

Now to people that say no multiplayer......... just **** off.......yep simply put **** off, you knew this game was not going to have multiplayer so using that as a detractor is like buying a car knowing it's a three door and then complaining to the manufacturer that it doesn't have five,which quite simply makes you sounds a remtard short of trying to bite your own ear off while trying to use your fingers to touch your wrists.

    My hat goes off to the developers who have poured time, effort and love in to this game and have created something that hasn't been seen in modern gaming for the last 20 years,and with the recent craze of loot boxes, DLC and season passes suffocating games in a cloud of greed it's a welcome change for a developer to show how things should be done, so please support games like these and hopefully EA, Ubisoft and other "AAA" developers will take note and stop producing games for the sole purpose of testing how tight they can squeeze their consumers ****

    A perfect example of what a sequel should. Machine Games took the brilliant New Order and turned into one of the best first person shooters of all time with the New Colossus. The characters, the pacing, the narrative, the music and the unrelenting gameplay, everything about this game oozes with Uber perfection. Easily my Game of The Year.

Many reviewers ended up quite liking the game, and after finally giving it a whirl this year, I thought it was a fine title. Nothing extremely fantastic, but it was pretty solid overall even despite a weak finish. ThreeWow, what a difference three years can make. Back in 2014, Bethesda revived the "Wolfenstein" series for the eighth generation of gaming with "Wolfenstein: The New Order." Many reviewers ended up quite liking the game, and after finally giving it a whirl this year, I thought it was a fine title. Nothing extremely fantastic, but it was pretty solid overall even despite a weak finish. Three years later, Bethesda returned with this sequel, and once again, it took me a while to get to the game. Once I did, though, I can tell you that I had an absolute blast with the game.
    "Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" is the complete package for a first-person shooter: from a gameplay standpoint, it takes everything about the first game (both good and bad) and makes amazing improvements: the already solid controls are even smoother, the game as a whole feels so much faster, the gunplay is still really fantastic, and the level design is far more compelling and memorable this time around. Visually, the game is also a real stunner, and what really sets this game apart from the rest of the FPS pack is the writing. This game is not afraid to slow down on the Nazi-killing, blood-splattering fun to remind you that there's a really great story here, one that's filled with real emotion yet still throwing in some comic relief and utilizing its alternate history route to outstanding effect, and rounding itself out with a cast of character that are excellently realized: I applauded Blazkowicz's character development in the last game, and here, he remains the badass that you still sympathize with and root for (especially given the added backstory in this game), his crew is packed to the brim with personality and charm, and General Engel is a sinister, terrifying, and fantastic villain that you'll remember long after you play the game.
    If I could complain about anything at all, it's that the difficulty spike still shows up a few times (largely because, as many have said, the game doesn't give you a ton of feedback when getting hit), but the overall gameplay has been improved so much that this doesn't feel like as big of a problem to me. All in all, "Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" is a much-improved, all-around fantastic shooter that should stand tall as one of the eighth generation's better action titles, and definitely as one of the generation's finest FPS titles. And hey, if you're upset about the recent cold streak Bethesda's been on as of late, you might want to give this game a shot, just to see what it's like when they, along with their subsidiaries, actually put real care and effort into their titles, because I can tell you, this game was made with plenty of love and care. You won't want to miss it!

    I'll rate it a ten just because it's got people's panties in a knot, when it's coming from the same mindset of Quentin Tarentino's Inglourious Basterds. It's fiction, it's not supposed to have deep subtext and you're stupid if you're looking for something like that. Sorry you're looking for the meaning of life in entertainment.

    Great game with and amazing story, and the best of all is loot boxes are nowhere to be found, i really recommend this, gameplay is great.
    A bad thing could be the evil totally linear story but to me its ok

    Hours into this game and it's shaping up to be an exceptional story in the gaming world. Cleansing and liberating a subjugated U.S. from Nazis are more fun than ever. Now complete with psychedelia!

    Get this if you're into 1st-person shooters, and if you're not into pretending WW2 never happened.

But really, what makes me love Wolf 2 so much is just how human it all is. This game made me feel so many things, it's a wonder just howWolfenstein 2 is the greatest game i've ever played, without a doubt.     This is a GREAT game. I have long been a fan of the Wolfenstein Franchise. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus did NOT let me down. The graphics and the gameplay are first class. And another benifit is that it really makes the Neo-Nazis, KKK, and Alt-Right insane. 99% of the low ratings are from them. What's better tham a game where you can kill American Nazis and Members of the KKK ?

    Best shooter in years. Storyline is okay, however seeing a Nazi-USA is a little too close to reality right now. But it is great that Bethesda doesn't shy away from the topic and the controversy. And can we pause for a moment and think about what it means that a game about killing Nazis is considered controversial by some "people" in 2017???

    Politics aside this is a brilliant game which takes all the aspects applauded by previous games and puts them into one nazi bashing bonanza. Never had this much fun on a shooter since Bioshock Infinite. I would recommend this game to pretty much anyone who enjoys shooters.

    Best game I’ve played in a few years. The story is crazy!! Multiple jaw dropping moments!! So much fun wrecking nazis and everything is just over the top. Beautiful graphics and I couldn’t put it down, give this game a go, it’s so worth it!!

    One of the best single player shooters in awhile. Story is good from the start but gets better. You live on a pretty badass sumb marine. There are quite a few side missions and many collectables. Exceptional graphics.

There are multiple difficulties and a "hint" button in-game so you can play it kind of old school style. Meaning you make your own way. And only use it when you get stuck. Which I really like. I hate it when games nowadays lead your hand all the time. So much you don't have to think where you are going. Great game so far. Machine Games know what they are doing.     Thanks to a very good map design and a lot of interesting collectibles (as well as many "readable" newspapers, diaries, letters etc which gives you insight not only into the life of the nazi soldiers but also into the lifes of the normal americans and recently arrived germans) It took me just about 20 hours from start to end on medium difficulty. The map design and all the collectibles as well as the opportunity to sneak around all enemies to try and take out the officers first (only the officers can raise the alarm and call for reinforcements) makes you actually wanting to find out what happened in the very different cities you're visiting.

    All in all, this game was a blast! Great gunplay with the possibility to upgrade almost every weapon, great level design, very graphically improved from the last game along with new shaders and lightning, great character-driven story and a lot of crazy moments that will make you remember this game for a long time makes for an extremely well crafted old school fps in a world filled with multiplayer games and loot boxes. Frau Engel was an amazing choice of a villain with the edition of her daughter to give an outlook on her parenting and her true personality.     The NPCs are very well done and if you stand still get to hear them talk, usually very funny conversations like Set and Frau Engels daughter, when she bursts into song :-) Weapons are well done with heavy weapons like the laser cannon an absolute joy, you can melt crates to grab more ammo-shield-health packs. I upgraded the assault rifle for armour piercing for extra damage versus drones and armoured troops. Guns feel solid with effects like recoil and muzzle flash done well.

    Great FPS blast, do you go all guns blazing or a stealthier approach? Personally I like stealth as it satisfying to find a vent you can snipe from and take down enemies, think I will go for the sniper scope on the AR as iron sites at range are poor. Lots of things to explode in the game like fuel tanks and gas cannisters. Stealth you can silence your weapons and use takedowns with the hatchet, thrown or held though throwing it needs a clean line of site and is low distance only. The NPCs are so well done its similar in quality to The Witcher 3. Ace game buy it, kill Nazis and liberate America!    … Expand

Only gripe I have against the game is that stealth is almost impossible besides maybe taking out the first enemy and stealth options are few and far between.     Incredible!! I never thought I would live to see the day where people give a game a zero for killing Nazis, oh how far we have fallen. With that said however, what a beautiful and amazing game! Fun to play, gorgeous to look at. Highly recommended.

    I've had several laugh out loud moments at the over the top story elements and even on the mid-range difficulty find myself being tested by the surprisingly adept AI. The AI is actually the one thing that has been continuously surprising me as I keep finding myself dying to enemies that have managed to sneak up behind me or have remained in cover long enough to jump out at me when I wasn't expecting them to be there. There is one section in a court (without giving anything away) that challenged me in a tooth-clenching, infuriating way that I haven't experienced since gaming as a kid. I knew I could lower the difficulty to breeze through it but I absolutely couldn't, it felt wrong to do so.

    All around this has been way more than I was expecting and I already had very high hopes. I've been burned recently with pre-orders (Mass Effect Andromeda) and vowed never to buy a game that way again. But after playing Doom and loving my experience with the New Order, this one didn't feel like a gamble - and it seems I struck the jackpot.    … Expand

    I've always enjoyed a game with a strong, boundary-pushing single player campaign. Pay no attention to the white nationalist snowflakes spamming the negative review button. Wolfenstein was very cinematic and very surreal.

    Game play is very satisfactory, nothing like killing nazis. Game story is over the top but when you have that in mind it is awesome. The guns are unique and very satisfying to use, love to dual wield shotguns and can't beat the Lasergewehr, wish it could be used longer with a single charge.

    It's a great sequel. And I wish that Bethesda and MachineGames will do the third part. I recommend it.

    It's stunning that we've reached an age where fighting Hitler himself is "the SJW agenda." The game makes zero mention of any neo American right movements, the enemy is the literal Nazis, the ones from the 1940s, the ones that have ALWAYS BEEN the villians in the Wolfenstein series, yet here you have A SURPRISING AMOUNT OF people giving the game low marks because of it's """politics""" which boil down to nothing more than "Nazis are bad" something to which we USED TO AGREE ON.

    In reality, I think this is a solid 9/10 game. It's an A+ with a few frustrating moments that kept it from perfection. I'm bumping up the rating slightly because I honestly think the fact that I just read 30 reviews that only get into specifics when it comes to the game's "politics" and others that seem really vague, making me wonder whether or not they're criticizing the game authentically.     Wolfenstein 2 is a wonderous predecessor to Wolfenstein and for that deserves a medal in its own right. Wolfenstein 2 is one of those games that is not to be forgotten not one you’ll easily forget, Nazis ruling the world you fighting for a better tomorrow all while you listen to Train to Hamburg a record you found while snooping around a well-designed level.

    Now I could go on and on and on about how good this game is or how imaginative it was or the way it’s satisfying for a large hulking Nazi behemoth to explode, but I won’t.     Amazing sequel to a great game! Very awesome shooter and probably one of the best I've played in my life. No online here, but not needed IMO. Graphics are top notch. Add ons are short, but worth the extra money. Great stories all together. One of the best purchases I have ever made. Recommend to all!!!

    I've only played a little less than half of this game, but the fact that it triggered all the losers who use SJW unironically is more than worth the price of admission. 10/10, will continue to punch a Nazi in the face.

    Gameplay: Classic heart-pounding id software push-forward combat combined with some compelling stealth scenarios. Perks upgrade system encourages you to make deliberate choices about how you want to play and gently guides you as to how to improve in that style. Good level design, but nothing that has really made me stop and admire the intricacy. Difficulty is the only place where gameplay is an issue. Despite five or six difficulty settings, devs could not find the sweet spot between "don't hurt me" (2nd) and "bring it on" (3rd) settings, the former being a little too easy, and the latter being a little too hard. I prefer the "don't hurt me" setting to keep the story moving (and of course, not dying a bunch and being able to take a lot of grief fits the character). Manual save option is a nice feature for people interested in playing on a higher difficulty.

    Takeaway: This is what games should be in 2019. You don't have to pick and choose between compelling gameplay and a captivating narrative experience. We deserve both, and TNC delivers. This is a compelling and entertaining ride. Play it and have fun. 10/10.    … Expand

    Extremely fun with memorable characters and interactions. I've rarely been as excited for cut scenes as with this game. (Looking at some of the other reviews, seems like some people are getting triggered with the nazi killing part)

    i hate shooters but honestly i love the concept of being able to absolutely OBLITERATE Nazis so how can this game not be a 10/10 for me? throw in great graphics and this cool dieselpunk aesthetic to the weapons and overall aesthetic and i'm sold.

    I never played a Wolfenstein game before, but I got this one because I liked the trailer at Papa Johns. I'm happy I got it because it is one of the best shooters I played in a long time. The story and characters are excellently written. I was looking for a challenge too, so I picked the hardest difficulty on my first play and got a brutal beatdown for every mistake I made.

There's character work and plotting of this that no one is able to compete with right now other than, maybe, Naughty Dog, which is a different tone and style.     I love single player games. Damn... I am only playing single player games. I believe that most of the modelrn multiplayer games are purest cash grab and eventually waste of time. After mostly positive reviews, I decided to pick this game up and boy, oh boy, I was not dissatisfied.

    Game starts almost instantly after first part ends, you still playing for BJ. From the first minutes game makes you understand that it is very creative and original. First minutes of the game you can not walk and have to use wheelchair for movement. Then you realize that game mechanocs are improved and shooting feels fluent and fast paced and very satisfying, I would say shooting is the best part of this game. Elga is back and she is a very fun vilian, all scenes with her are so memorable. Soundtrack is rad and feels badass. There is some non shooting moments in the game and I think these moments are reasons why this game can consider as an art. Tarantino aspired moments its what will stuck in my head for a long time.
    Sometimes I did not like how game was transitioning in game cutscenes to pre rendered ones. It feels very woobly. The biggest problem for me is the ending. It feels rushed and abrupt. I do not understand why most of the games nowadays have weak ending.
    But overall is a very enjoyable game and I finished it in few sittings.    … Expand

    The New Colossus doesn’t necessarily expand on the FPS genre as a whole, but nonetheless the classic elements it brings to the table is tested proof that modern shooters do not need to recycle the same ideas every year and instead need to go back to their roots. Admittedly, the story is nothing special, albeit does feature some very poignant moments with the introduction of BJ’s backstoryThe New Colossus doesn’t necessarily expand on the FPS genre as a whole, but nonetheless the classic elements it brings to the table is tested proof that modern shooters do not need to recycle the same ideas every year and instead need to go back to their roots. Admittedly, the story is nothing special, albeit does feature some very poignant moments with the introduction of BJ’s backstory and his relationship with his father. Predictable plot twists, and unbelievable moments of “WTF?” take center stage here. But, let’s be honest, the gameplay is what shines here. BJ’s fluidity means that he can pull off amazing moves all while dual welding guns, and with the new axe you get from the get go, it provides gamers with multiple ways of encountering and dealing with enemies. I have never felt a shooter handle so effortlessly like this one, I was able to pull off amazing moves, and it helps when every enemy you kill feels satisfying in some way. Top that off with a maze like level design that makes sure you can play stealthy or go guns blazing. This is how gameplay in a shooter should be done. The New Colossus runs you in at about 8 hours of gameplay, which is disappointing for a 80 dollar game, but it’s the moments in between, the gameplay that adds the replay value.… Expand

Most FPS games these days are multiplayer focused with a weak - or in many cases none existing - campaign mode. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus however is the total opposite, and that is awesome, it has a great story with interesting characters and creative set pieces,In the era of pay-to-win games with the terrible microtransactions this first person shooter is a breath of fresh air.     It is a violent game but I don't think there is a single gamer out there who does not know what this series is about - killing nazis. It is done in such a fun and creative way though, that these games just simply don't get boring. I enjoyed the flash back parts as well, as we learned a lot more about our hero's tough upbringing. I also truly hated the main villain (which is very good I guess), she is so evil you really want to do your best to finally kill her. Very satisfying...
    So all in all it is an outstanding game, that us gamers should support. This one deserves our money, unlike many other ones on the market with greedy publishers!    … Expand

    Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an FPS that makes a ton of good to great decisions, but also a handful of poor ones. Tightly crafted gameplay is marred by adherence to genre conventions, and the narrative gets off to a slow start as the game decides what it wants to be. However, neither of those are enough to drag this down too much, as it is simply too well put together and has more than enough personality and fun to poke through the layer of seriousness draped over the first parts of the campaign. What is left is a game that can stand as a very fine example of its genre, if not quite a groundbreaking one.

    The second part continues in the footsteps of its predecessor and does not bring any major changes. However, it brings a hectic, explosive action accompanied by an excellent, though sometimes too exaggerative story.
