This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall the story development, and mechanics are fairly spot on for this game. I was a big fan of the reboot from a couple years ago and had I hopes for this and for the most part it totally delivered.

Instead of going on about how great this game I'll point out my two major issues in which caused a 7/10
    1. When the game stops becoming about killing Nazi's and starts pushing **** white people, that's when I am bothered. I get wearing the shoe on the other foot, however when is the line drawn between the difference of a Nazi and a white person. clearly two different things in our culture today. Yet the writers persisted on having a major cut scene yelling **** white people.

    2. Gun wheel/selection mechanic is still the biggest gripe for me and has gotten worst since the first. Dual-wielding etc is just such a mess. Honestly at this point the only thing that will fix it, is a time pause while you switch weapons since it is just so god damn tedious.

Bethesda game developers created an interesting world, reminiscent of the one in "The Man in the High Castle" but failed to use it to its full potential. The writing is nowhere near as good as in "The New Order" Expand

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is a solid and good shooter game that definitely has some charm and appeal for those wishing to kill some Nazis, but it also commits some flaws on its form and structure that holds it back from being a worthy sequel and even worse a great game of its own nature. Before I go into some depth of why I think this way I would like to state I have playedWolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is a solid and good shooter game that definitely has some charm and appeal for those wishing to kill some Nazis, but it also commits some flaws on its form and structure that holds it back from being a worthy sequel and even worse a great game of its own nature. Before I go into some depth of why I think this way I would like to state I have played Wolfenstein The New Order and beat it so to not have some comparison to its previous entry is going to be inevitable. Here are my views of the game:

Things I like about Wolfenstein 2:
    1. Combat- The visceral, explosive and colorful sounds of Nazis being killed is always cathartic for me. I always take great pleasure in taking out as many as I can in a frenzy. This is The New Colossus's greatest strength and it shows well.
    2. World building - Collectibles are mostly good. I particularly like the music and documents along with the concept art that goes to show a believable world despite having a futuristic vibe.
    3. Character development- A significant improvement over the first game. The characters feel more than expository dumps and actually have more emotions.
    4. Slaughtering Nazis - This goes without saying and its so freaking great.
    5. Story - Surprisingly good writing in this game. Despite some issues for a big dumb action movie like script it actually has some clever moments.
    6. Weapon upgrades and perks are cool but they dont really all have the same value and some perk trees are far superior to others.
    7. Contraptions are good implementations that allow you try different approaches in areas like jumping, stretching and ramming. Adding perks on that is pretty good too.
    8. Music is great: Mick Gordon is a talented composer and musician. He is nowhere near DOOM's height, but still provides good music tracks for the ears.

    Things I dislike:
    1. Easy to die: The difficulty is too harsh and the power fantasy of killing Nazis loses its edge very easily when your health drops in the blink of an eye on even normal mode. By my 20 death count, I was already getting a bit tired.
    2. Weapon balance issues. If I can spam dual Shotguns through most of the game, then thats not good. There is hardly anything new that the sequel didnt already have. Dual wielding different types feels arbitrary and having to switch them on the fly in a firefight is tedious.
    3. First half of the story feels too slow and the second half feels too fast. I would have preferred a third part to show the actual revolution taking place, but the next game will do that I guess.
    4. You end levels by going to the objective and holding a button, disrupting the flow and have awkward moments where enemies you fight vanish in cutscenes. The UI for navigating areas is clunky and dull.
    6. Assassinating targets from the main game is boring and just padding with previous levels reused. shouldve fused them into the main game.
    7. Lots of glitches, bugs and hiccups that demand immediate fixes but not surprised anymore from a big name publisher.

    Things I'm indifferent on:
    1. Race and political commentary undertones. This is clearly trying to parallel civil rights and lots of African American, KKK, Communism and American exceptionalism seems to be rooted in this game, but some of it feels like shock value than actual critiques of the systems.
    2. Stealth is improved from the first but still feels awkward as enemies can wonky on their ais and feels like the flip of a coin on whether your tactics will work or just force you to go guns blazing.
    3. Enemy variety is lacking, but they do look more visually interesting. The first game had a solid foundation and much of the same this game has. I was expecting more from this and while there is some new enemies, there doesnt feel like theres enough to change up the tactics.
    4. Textures look great on some things and absolutely horrendous on others (like last gen level bad). This is something to see for yourself.
    5. Exploration feels like it needs more options like DOOM. There are definitely some secret areas, but it feels linear that I cant resist calling it a bit bland.
    6. Cutscenes sometimes go on for too long (overdramatizing) and some are jarring, but some are great and really well done.

I respect Wolfenstein 2, but I cant help but feel its retreading the same ground as TNO instead of being its own game and story. The sequel bait ending, season pass DLC and preorder mission bonus all feel like the game is nowhere near complete and for a game costing $60 bucks that will take you 20-25 hours to 100% that feels like salt in the wound. Its worth a purchase for Wolfenstein fans and even shooter psychos wanting Nazi blood, but The New Colossus sacrifices too much to play safe despite some interesting moments it brings.

The opening hours of Wolfenstein II are great and promising. The story is excellent, setting up an epic tale of revenge and rebellion, while also including plenty of strange humor and campy dialogue similar to that of a Tarantino movie. The gameplay is also solid, with fluid, fun and insanely violent gun mechanics and stealth kills. There is also a weapons crafting system (mostly shallow) and perks system that allows you to gain upgrades and abilities based on your style of play, which I liked since it allows for you to constantly improve in your playing style.

But, as the game wears on, it loses its steam and becomes inconsistent in its delivery of thrills and epic story moments. After the first few hours, there are several sections of levels that are repetitive and have very similar environments (grey, dreary military base settings with lots of red lights). Also, the story also slows down, and although it isn't meant to be taken completely seriously, there are not as many powerful or epic moments as there are in the beginning of the game. There are few enemy types, which isn't a problem at first but it does become formulaic and uninteresting to fight groups of these enemies. Finally, the enemy AI in regards to stealth is wildly inconsistent: there were times when I was crouched a few feet away in front of an enemy and they did not see me, but then there were times when I was 20 feet away hiding around a corner and I was detected for making a slight twitch.

But in the end, even after the excellent first few hours of Wolfenstein II, there are still several powerful story moments and fun action sequences throughout the rest of the game, they are just fewer and further in between. Wolfenstein II is a ride worth taking, but ideally if you can pick it up for $20 or less.

    Positives:
Story is amazing. The idea of the Nazis winning the war was always going to interest me.
    Killing Nazis is always fun.
There's no better feeling than throwing an axe off one guy and taking down the other brutally.
The no-hold-back attitude with the game is decent, the gore, the violence, it's so good.
No micro-transactions and/or loot crates deserves a tremendous amount of credit.

    Negatives:
    Story is not long enough.
Generic FPS aspects, run and shoot, no strategic thinking.
Upgrade system on the weapons is also very generic.
    Far too many cutscenes.
    RPG elements are minimal.
    No other modes including online.
It's just that, an offline FPS.

It's a good game, but it's not worth the £50 price-tag that I paid. This was good, but could've been a whole lot better. Some of the positive reviews I have read don't give a full review, instead, they just insult anybody who negatively reviewed this game. It's bad that people are called "fascists" because they didn't like a game. Avoid those reviews. Read the more detailed ones instead.

Let me start off by saying that the game is good. Really, it is. There are a great many things to love here, so if you don't care about story or atmosphere and just about the pure gameplay, you'll probably have a blast. The game has great set-pieces and it's a joy going on a killing spree.
However, there are two minor issues and one big problem that, in my eyes, keep it from being great.

However, there are two minor issues and one big problem that, in my eyes, keep it from being great.

    1. Maybe it's just me Navigating through the levels can be a bit confusing. There were several times, I didn't know where to go, because the game doesn't do a very good job at pointing you in the right direction.

    2. The levels are a bit on the short side and while I appreciate the fact, that no level overstays its welcome, it still often felt more like a funfair ride rather than an immersive gaming experience.

    3. This was the most jarring element of the game: The overall tone of the game. Now, bear in mind, that this is purely a matter of taste. But let's be real: We don't play the Wolfenstein series, because we want an even semi-realistic simulation of a world under Nazi rule. There are other, better games for that kind of oppressive experience. We play it, so we can have some mindless fun. And that's why the games many dark and serious scenes just felt totally out of place, The game is full of ridiculous ideas and we *are* still playing as JB, a true killing machine, who's mowing down enemies by the hundreds. So, when the moribund protagonist suddenly starts oozing pathos, talking to dead friends about death and glory it just feels .... wrong.
I really don't want to take a game like Wolfenstein too seriously, because if I did, I'd have to start questioning its logic and moral implications. The game wants to be "Inglorious Basterds" and (tonally) "The Walking Dead" at the same time. And, at least for me, that simply didn't work and made me feel rather uncomfortable, *especially* since, as monsters go, we're not talking about orcs, vampires or even zombies here, but about a group of real people who killed real people. And I simply can't overlook that fact anymore, once a game like this asks me to take it seriously.

    Misc:
    - an option to see enemies through walls would've been a nice addition, but then again I think i have been spoiled by other games.
    - the objective marker could've been bigger.

During this game i realized that stealth works for so long before you are spotted and i am not the type of person who runs in guns blazing even though that is what this game is intended for. I put 20hrs into this game and more than half-way through everything just seemed seemed repetitive and just kind of wanted to be done with it. Overall it was a good game.

The final boss was nothing more then a regular enemy with a bit more armor on, yea not that original. The boss also glitched on me. After the first 5 minutes it just didn't move anymore and because of that I easily won the fight. I also didn't like the mission on planet Venus, the world felt very empty compared to the moon level from a new order. I did however like the city level and the wheelchair level. The boring and meaningless compulsory side tasks in-between the main missions make it even harder to effectively enjoy the game. It definitely had some major bugs as well to make the gameplay even more frustrating. The campaign, however, is decent enough and sometimes it's just so damn fun to shoot up the bad guys in the game. So, why the 6?

My biggest issues (1) It runs out of steam in its final acts, (2) the raw brutality is replaced by nonsensical jests, and (3) the level designs begin to all bleed together.

The opening chapters - Ya, Ya, I know they're political/liberal - really do add some intriguing psychological layers to BJ and questions the ruthlessness of his carnage. In addition, Engel (initially) ranks up there with some of the greatest video game villains of all time. I kept thinking of The Governor from the Walking Dead comics - an ingenius sadist who (sadly) is always one step ahead.

Unfortunately, after the "execution" - a true highlight of the game - the story becomes lost in its absurdity and loses all emotional weight. A horrid past is replaced with drunken Pig racing. Engel's omnipotent presence is made into a gameshow joke (seriously?) I completed the campaign feeling robbed and honestly thinking - did the developers forget what they were doing? Did they lose their nerve?

Level Design - Despite coming out in 2015, the levels in TNO were much more memorable. There's nothing that matches the thrills of the Bridge level, the viciousness of the concentration camp, or the triumph of surmounting Castle Wolfenstein. While the graphics are vastly superiors in TNC, the levels felt bland and repetitive.

Overall - For all the provocative trailers and grisly opening, TNC sadly withdraws from its savagery in favor for insanity.

The inclusion of some really Ridiculous super technology alienates the story and setting from any historic truth, and the Nazi’s who were known for their swift technological advances, brutality, hate and deadly precision have become dumb psychopaths who do stuff to kill their own boredom.

Already a thing in the first Wolfenstein, this game also has some strange shooting mechanics, mainly the way guns behave. During development, the question should always arise: 'Does this make the game better, more enjoyable?' Clearly this wasn't done for Wolfenstein 2, as guns have an undying attraction to the ceilling. Guns have horrible accuracy and barely hit targets unless you embrace a wrestling match with your weapon. Dual wielding becomes a baby sitting job instead of it being a goofy feauture to have fun.

I was frustrated with the game within 2 hours, and felt a wave of relieve once i traded it in. I give this game a 6/10, which means it is an average game. However, this is a personal opinion obviously. I can easily understand people giving this game 7's and 8's for what it offers as a FPS single player game.

These three things alone make the game not worth playing. Very little destruction of the map. I mean very, very little. Map design is pffff.

The story is lazy and no fun. I was excited to see what they would do with America as the setting. They wrote exactly what you would write in your 8th grade fan fiction. Some seriously weird moments used as "shock value" but they miss the whole point of Wolfenstein as a series.
Its full of typical mindless portrayals of people. This ones a redneck, that ones a communist....just disappointingly simplistic.

Serious topics are handled like 19 year old rich suburban spoiled brats wrote about them after deciding they wanted to be a protester their freshmen year of college.

    Graphics are fine.

A few satisfying moments.....but nothing worth buying the game for....

Honestly, if you are a game journalist, you loved this game because its what you want from every game.....phony politics--- im not even sure they are in there, but im sure they enjoyed shooting Nazis ...you know...b/c we are all Nazis if we dont live in San Fran.

Pick it up down the road on sale, or rent it, if you still think youre interested.......very few will enjoy it enough to warrant a full price purchase.

I predict this game will kill the current series...but dont worry they will reboot it and 5 - 7 years.

Any score above a 7 is pure hype. I loved the first game and was eagerly waiting for the sequel. While it starts off great, the game quickly becomes repetitive, frustrating, & frankly, kinda boring. This was my biggest disappointment of 2017. You should 100% wait for this game to be $20 or less.

The 10/10 people who like to repeatedly talk about the facf that the game is good because you kill Nazis in it. And, the people who rate it 0/10 because of the graphics or inclusion of any political motivation and agenda. However, I know the majority of those people aren't Nazi sympathizers as a few have put it because there wasn't an issue in the past two Wolfenstein games. I don't see an issue when people rate COD:WW2 low. So it's disgusting that people continually point the finger at a deeper cause because it's just too unbelievable that some people (as with any game) are just unimpressed with a franchise that has quite literally outdone itself.

I also have no problem with the killing of Nazis as I have found many WW2 games going back to Wolf 3D and Medal of Honor Frontline, as well as, New Order, and The Old Blood to be masterpieces. I mean, you go to the Moon in TNO and you go to Castle Wolfenstein in the latter. There's also wayyyy better humor in The Old Blood. Particularly when BJ says he's from Frankfurt and Americans would call him a "hot dog". I have played through the game three times just for those moments. Anyway, this game has magic. But, it has no new magic. Just some more modern "righteousness" against those controlling, racist, fat shaming monsters you see in the game. It's surprisingly inclusive to women though. Overall I'm just opposed to any kind of politically motivated messages hidden inside media. I'd prefer story writers and devs to come up with something they find inspiring regardless of the current political climate. Nintendo is a prime example. They've always created a diverse cast in their games because it fit their need for making things fresh. They weren't doing it to send subliminal messages and they're not fascists for not wanting to.

Back to the game's content though, I found the graphics to be on par with preivious games. The game's length is fine. It's not an RPG. I don't judge a game by inclusion of multiplayer. I surely wouldn't for The Legend of Zelda. The weapons and gunplay are okay but as stated it is the same from before. Chracter interaction is mostly believable. I seriously doubt BJ's dad would marry his mother just for money or status. People did some odd things back then but American Christians have always been very firm in tradition which would conflict with his Jewish mother's upbringing. Something BJs father was obviously concerned about. And if i have any reasons to subtract the game's score its:
-the opening level is the least interesting I've played in a Wolfenstein (including 3D)
-BJ is still ripped after laying around for 5 months
-the game's marketing insists punching Nazis is what the franchise is about (it's historically been about keeping super weapons out of Nazi hands. Someone clearly failed)
-it involves killing Wehrmacht Soldaten but I can't even use a 1911, M1 Garand, or Springfield 03 and it makes me sick people would applaud the mediocre opportunities to kill Nazis without pure American weapons.
-There's almost no American patriotism in the game either (there's some flags and otherwise around I was glad to see.) I just wish I could see more from BJs military background and indoctrination that gives him his loyalty and will to fight. So the game is hardly pro-American as well.

It's just disgusting. If there's any politically charged content at least make up for it with an appearance of George Patton or Harry Truman, or take us on a tour of the White House. Or show Manhattan? And where in the hell are the Japanese? Surely they were in on it? I know I'm jumping around here but I'm confused now. There's just a lot of opportunity lost and all because like Mass Effect: Andromeda, the focus changed mid-series all because of marketing and cash grabbing.

I entered this franchise with RTCW: Tides of War back on the original Xbox. It is one of my favourite games of all time, so naturally I compare all the sequels to it. The first two games were passable, this one is as well, barely.

I could easily give this game less than a 5, but I do have to point out the good parts of it which make it passable.

First off, the gun play is great in my opinion, I like the recoil, I like the heavy variants of weapons, and I like the sounds effects of all the weapons. The weapon upgrading system is also a neat touch, but not too amazing from an innovative point of view.

Second, the perk system is great for adapting to your style of play, whether it is stealth based or guns blazing, perks are earned around your play style and are not too overpowering.

Third, I think the game looks pretty great. I have read on other reviews that they have been having issues with FPS and whatnot (more so on PC), but on PS4 Pro on 4K, the game looks great.

The positives end there unfortunately. The negatives tempted me to give this game a failing score.

As others have mentioned before me, video games are an escape from reality, and used as time to unwind. THEY ARE NOT meant to be a platform for voicing your political concerns as a developer, whether it was Bethesda or Machine Games, gamers do not need, nor want, political ideologies (left or right) injected into these games. It is an absolute disgrace to push a leftist ideology and draw parallels between a nazi-controlled United States and the Trump administration. LEAVE IT OUT.

I do not support Trump and I have no problem with the nazi killing aspect, as this was what Wolfenstein has always been about. I just do not believe that ideologies should be pushed in this type of platform.

Beyond that glaringly obvious con, the enemy AI is really questionable sometimes. There are moments when you can be crouched in plain sight and they will not detect you. It really ruins the challenge and immersion.

Why on Earth would you ever include this sensitive, emotional, and (again) political background story for BJ? He is now someone who grew up with an abusive, racist father, who did not approve of his interracial childhood friendship? This completely ruins the tough, relentless, borderline psychotic, personality that BJ had through the first couple entries in the franchise. This may not matter to some people, but to me, they softened BJ up completely and killed some of the immersion built up from the previous games. Hard to accept as a life long ID Software fan.

Characters are somewhat weak, with a few good ones mixed in. Story is nothing amazing, and seems pretty sarcastic at some points. Definitely not meant to be taken seriously. Alongside this, the level design seems a bit poor, kind of makes some of the gun fights seem repetitive.

Overall, I cannot bring myself to give this game higher than a 5, I had high expectations for Bethesda to make this game great after The New Order laid out a solid foundation, and after I played the masterpiece that was Doom, my expectations went even higher, and this probably hurt the value for me in the end. There just wasn't enough innovation and improvement over the predecessor to justify a higher score or $60 price tag. Bethesda should definitely consider bringing more ideas from ID back to this franchise, if a third instalment is planned.

The Level design in this game was frustrating, the story felt too focused on social issues rather than
the actual story needed for this type of game, the characters we're ok, most of the dialogue was just "we hate the facists" "we hate white america" "we hate something else".

The Gameplay was pretty fun i generally had a good time stabbing, mowing down, destroying nazis and robots, same as the first game just with **** level design.

This game couldv'e been good without the social agenda this game seems to push on players.

Gameplay was good, Level design was godawful and confusing, story was trying to hard to be something it wasn't, The characters were good with a few notable exceptions, The weapons

The camera angle is really hard to get used to. If you're playing for the first time, of course, other than that, it's a super. it deserves to be a game in my eyes.

Following the final events of Wolfenstein: The New Order, William "B.J." Blazkowicz is injured and falls into a coma for 5 months, and awakens just as the U-Boat they have commandeered is attacked by Nazi forces.

I’ll just come right out and say it, The New Colossus is one of the most disappointing sequels I’ve played. Apparently in response to feedback that the The New Order was ‘too easy’, the developers have upped the difficulty making the fast paced run and gun gameplay all but impossible on even the default setting (the lowest setting is too easy). This in itself wouldn’t be disastrous if the stealth mechanics were enjoyable, but they’re not. Enemy detection is too inconsistent, and in a good number of areas alerting the ‘commanders’ results in enemies infinitely respawning until you can kill them and shut down the alarm.

In between many of the missions you find yourself inside the U-Boat that acts as kind of a hub. For some reason you’ll usually be tasked with finding someone or something to start the next level, these sections are as dull as you’d expect and the fact that the useless map doesn’t always make it clear where you’re supposed to go only makes matters worse.

There is the odd bright spot, but I didn’t even make it to the end of what is apparently a relatively short campaign...

Music - Whoever produced the music for this game is awesome! There's a super heavy song at the beginning menu that was great. Even for the silly cut scene's there is a dynamic and well performed music parts that I thought sounded much better than other games in its genre.

Simple mechanics - Very simple gameplay in the sense that you'll never be confused in upgrading weapons, collecting items, or using weapons. It's pretty dumbed down which I like as it doesn't overcomplicate gaemplay.

Saving: Although some people may complain this takes the difficulty out of the game, I like this feature as the difficulty and amount of enemies at some points in the game are frustrating.

    CONS:

Gameplay movement - I felt B.J. moved too fast and it felt too cartoony in that sense. The melee kills are a little over the top but hey, thats Wolfenstein. The aiming is fine but I feel the player movement somewhat takes away from it.

Difficulty - WOW! Even on Medium this game can get tedious. Thank God you can save whenever you want otherwise it would suck. Some parts enemies will come literally from every angle, and on Medium it takes about 5 seconds to die when this happens. A bit too harsh for me. Towards the end of the game it becomes hilarious for all the wrong reasons. The stealth sucks too. Even when carefully maneuvering through levels, you'll always get caught eventually, and then literally every enemy in that giant part of the map swarm you relentlessly. It is god-damn awful and honestly not fair.

Graphics - I don't know what it is about Bethesda, but their graphics always are weird. There is a mastered 'shine' in the game, but at the same time their are moments where large pixels are noticed and it just looks sloppy/lazy. There was one point where I was throwing nades at an enemy through a hole through a ceiling, an the grenades just bounced off the hole like it was solid ground. SMH.

Overall, good/funny story that addresses real issues in the world today and yesterday. The music was great, the overall gameplay was OK but also felt rushed. The graphics looked like standard Bethesda style. The difficulty felt stupidly overwhelming at times (imagine getting the 'Mein Leben' trophy?!). I think the Bethesda could've added a little more to this game. This game could be an 8 if its serious technical/gameplay flaws could be addressed and updated.

Where the original had the perfect combination of difficulty, ease of use, stealth and truly original character development and story, this is much more two dimensional with the stealth component all but completely removed. It's virtually impossible to sneak up on the enemy in any scenario and even harder to find a Commander before he sets of his alarm to call in reinforcements. So over and over again, the only way to accomplish the mission is to go in full-on guns blazing and just hope you don't get decimated, which all too often happens, even on the easier settings. Also, one of the best things about the original was that there was always a logical (if sometimes difficult to see) way to defeat the enemies in any given level. Not so here. No rhyme or reason to the attack plan.

Graphics are fine but not nearly as compelling emotionally in my opinion. This game is much more claustrophobic and repetitive. All in all a major disappointment, given how much I loved the original. It's just flat creatively. And the aiming of the guns seems troublesome compared to the first. I wouldn't pay anywhere near full price for this - I'm not thrilled that I got it for less than full price frankly. The developers got lazy with this one. I decided to get unlazy with this one and write my first review to try to save fans of the first one some disappointment. Sorry to say but it's true. The people who are comparing this highly to the original game clearly didn’t love what was so compelling and unique about the orIginal in the first place.

Aiming is quite rubbish basically and build around shooting upclose. Most of the levels have terrible flow, each time every NPC will gang up on you at the beginning in the first two rooms and then you running around empty rooms looking for a way out.

After an awful wheelchair PoV start and an interesting albeit over the top stereotyped cut sequence, I actually put the game down after thirty minutes. Clunky control, abysmal level design. As an old nerd that played the original I'm very disappointed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a mess. In short, wait for a deep price drop as it's worth playing just to see what a mess it all is.

    Pros:
    - Fantastic graphics
    - Rich sound (sound effects and music is brilliant)
    - Good selection of guns, plus fun upgrades
    - I like the 'organic' skill tree
    - You get to kill Nazis, I hate Nazis

    Cons:
-Story is a f--king mess. The tone is totally inconsistent. It will go from deadly serious drama to slapstick comedy within the same cutscene. The story has ZERO focus and tries to make us invested in 10+ characters, but none of them are interesting. Especially that resistance leader, she is an insanely irritating character but the story won't stop spending time on her. There are INCREDIBLY interesting plot points that go nowhere, hopefully it's resolved in W3.
-BJ is wasted. He whines and **** about this character that is killed right in the beginning, for literally 50% of the game. Even after spending hours (yes) on developing BJ, I still don't understand or care for him. Halfway through the story, something so unbelievable happens that I lost all interest in his arch.
-The game is broken up into 40% (perhaps more) cutscenes and 60% shooting. Of the shooting, 80% is sneaking and 20% is outright action. Wolf 2 is more concerned with its poor sneaking system then letting you actually shoot **** This is actually the most f--ked up thing about this new game. Only in the VERY LAST LEVEL was I ever actually running, shooting and having fun. That's because by the end of the game I was so tired of sneaking around. For the first half, you have 50% health and on the higher difficulty level you take 1 shot before going down.
    - Seriously, did anyone playtest the hit detection on this mofo? You die instantly and there is no indication of where the attacks are coming from. BJ feels as powerful as a used tissue. I miss the Doom slayer, at least he could take a few hits before going down.
-More on the sneaking: this game was marketed to us incorrectly. The trailers were all action action action but if you go in guns blazing, enemies will swarm at you FOREVER until you take out the captain, and this is NO WAY to know if he is above or below you. It's so frustrating. Why market it as a shooter when they were trying for a watered down Dishonored? F--king LIARS.

Overall: WHAT A F__KING WASTE OF MY TIME.

Update: I had to drop my difficult from the hardest to the second hardest, as the hit detection is so poor, that you'll be dead in 0.5 seconds if you even pop out of cover, making playing it as an action game impossible on that level. You have to sneak. F--k this game.

I always select the most difficult settings on all FPS games to both challenge myself and to get the maximum enjoyment and longevity out of the game. I have tried to do the same with Wolfenstein II The New Colossus however , the stages are poorly designed , enemies spawn in weird places and I am left with the feeling that even if I made it past a certain check point that it was sometimes it was simply down to dumb luck and not any actual skill in any way. Believe me I have repeated sections over and over again with pin point accuracy only to die randomly by a single sometimes unknown shot. It feels more like trying to solve a puzzle than it does a skill based FPS shooter. I suppose for those casual gamers who don't play on the most difficult setting won't find it so frustrating but for hardcore FPS fans it can be a unwelcome grind.

Just utterly floored that such an otherwise well-crafted game could completely **** up something that is just standard protocol for the last several decades. Not once in my gaming life have I ever saved over a file by accident, or when I didn't want to, before now. I like Bombarte a lot. It's fine that Black people think they look good, but it's not fine if they think it's true and puts it in my favorite game. You cannot let gansters and rogues lead a great revolution, while making all other people look stupid. Grace is apparently nothing more than a street rogue, and the calm, wise Caroline was beheaded at the begining of the game. Full of non-sense. The worst part, they made my BJ a 'yo, yo, chect it out' rapper. They way he dress, the tone he talk, etc. Again, that's not cool, and it's not fine to make my dear American solder BJ into a rapper.

Second, the story of this game is just crap. Plot like BJ being beheaded is cool, but lack of depth, which is also the problem of this whole games. The growth of Sigrun makes no sense. Who would help strange enemies killing her own mother? She started weak, and then have sex with Bombarte, and all suddenly, she grasp Grace's neck, and became a strong, grown woman. What nonsense is this? The large party night they had. So typically fun with no meaning. It doesn't increase the depth of the story. It doesn't help forming a character. Just like junk food, fun but crap.

The whole game is just like that party, low-level enjoyment with no depth. It is enjoyable to certain people, especially black people apparently, but junk is junk. It's not a good game. It defiles the story and people established in the New Order. It offences me. It's a piece of crap.

The game is tedious and annoying, you're super fast which you'd think encourages a speedy action paced gameplay, but you'd be wrong because of how bad the auto-aim of the enemies are which shoot you from a dozen different directions at once without you even knowing where they are. super low health for most of the game and quick deaths, not hard just stupid and boring, forcing you into this weird COD gameplay mode that just doesn't fit the setting of the world. only a few variety of enemy types and bland and boring/forced moments that take away from what "wolfenstein" is meant to be, a badass shooter like DOOM FFS. This is just some sad shooter with a paint of EMO/SJW/PC propaganda all over it.

The previous title was incredible for its depth given it was a balls-to-the-walls shooter based around killing Nazis. You were able to choose how you wanted to complete the game, be it stealth or mayhem. The sequel, unfortunately, gives you the illusion of being able to do the same, but punishes you for choosing anything but the safest, stealthiest route. Despite being clad in futuristic armor, most of the game is spent in fear of actually alerting an enemy, as said armor seems to be made of cardboard; leaving the player shredded to pieces at the slightest whiff of a battle.

Then there's the plot. This game plays like the straight-to-DVD sequel that fans wished hadn't come out at all. The characters (like the main characters armor) are paper-thin, being entirely defined by overdone tropes. Any semblance of emotional engagement is disrupted by literal potty humor, and the main character "Terror Billy" spends most of the game lamenting how horribly bent out of shape he is. I kept waiting for the good part to start, but was let down as the woe-is-me attitude from the main character came to be a story staple.

I like to think that the series ended after The New Order, as suffering through this game was a chore I wouldn't wish on anyone who enjoyed the first.

Frankly, the cut scenes are excessively long, unnecessarily so. Then there’s the issue I have with the disgusting SJW, anti white, anti “straight white male” and blatant pro communism agenda. I wasn’t part of the initial “outrage” from a while back. It’s apparent now that, in true SJW Leftist form, criticisms of this game’s obvious agenda was dishonestly mischaracterized. Criticism of Wolfenstein 2 was dishonestly equated to “I cant believe these racist white devils are mad that you kill Nazis in this game”. That isn’t and never has been a thing. I’m sure there are ignorant, naive people who didn’t look into it and just accepted the misinformation or outright lies being lobbed at anyone who dared to criticize Wolfenstein 2’s “story” (agenda).

“Just who the **** are you whiteboy?” - Sister Grace

“Well, you ain’t a white a** fascist Nazi pig, then you either colored or you’re a deviant.” (I.e, All white people are Nazis or deviants.) “You sure as h*ll ain’t colored so you trying to pass as a deviant? He look like a deviant to you, Sister Grace?” - Super Spesh (white guy)

There’s the 8+ month pregnant Mary Sue, Anya Oliwa. Anya’s super hero level fighting skills are exhibited in one bizarre scene where she strips off all her clothes and obliterates a room full of Nazis/Panzerhounds while dual wielding machine pistols covered in their blood. At one point she belly flops onto her fully developed pregnant belly, shields BJ from a Grenada she throws.

To be clear, I have no problem with exceptionally strong female protagonists. Horizon Zero Dawn, the Tomb Raider franchise and the Last Of Us are at the top of my list of favorite games. At the same time I found SJW zealot Neil Druckmann’s Nadine from the uncharted games to be ridiculous.

Its as if a thirteen year old boy who loved black, gay, Jewish woman who happened to also really love the F word wrote the script, cringe. talk about a basket of token minorities. oh and dont forget about the pregnant woman going full on topless covered in blood dual wielding guns as if to tell me this is the NEW bad ass we should all strive to be, absolute cringe. the game is also extremely short, i beat it in a day, so 60 is quite the asking price, not to mention it wants you to scrap out more money for its dlc. all in all if you really want a good shooter, just play DOOM or its upcoming sequel and if you're looking for a great narrative game play God of War or Uncharted 4, cheers. The New Order was a sick game! Enjoyed it so much and got the Platinum trophy. The devs should be ashamed of themselves for putting out this joke of a game though. It’s so bad I didn’t bother finishing it. Nice graphics though. 1 out of 10.

This game ruined so much good will from The New Order. I love that game. This game just completely misunderstands The New Order.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This boring derivative shooter is using a venerable franchise to make a quick buck by injecting the game play with a story riddled with anti-white propaganda and social engineering.

The 'punch a Nazi' refrain goes well beyond the traditional villains of the series and expands the virtue signaling to anyone who is white. We discover our hero was abused as a child by his white father who, surprise surprise was a terrible racist and anti-semite. We discover that the great hope for the world is the multi-ethnic group of resistance fighters which are a carbon copy of other SJW productions like Star Wars The Force Awakens.

The developers here have gone OUT OF THEIR WAY to push a particular narrative here and it is visible in the opening minutes of the game and continues throughout. Its poison, and it should be rightly rejected and called out for the damage it is doing not only to gamers, but to what is left of Western Civilization.

Let me start with saying that I absolutely loved the previous game. Its brutality and oldschoolness. I also enjoyed the recent Doom and I'm not a noob when it comes to FPS (played them since the OG Wolfenstein). But The New Colossus is just...bad. And mostly because of the difficulty developers have set. I had to go to Reddit and read whether there was something wrong with the game (or myself) because I was simply dying every 3min. In some scenes it was happening over a dozen times before I had to simply switch it to the lowest difficulty. It shouldn't be so hard! It should be fun to kill the bloody nazis and not a chore.. Something the devs could've fixed with a patch was the feedback of you being shot. You just don't get that you're about to die until it's too late. The upgrade system in the game is miserable and the three abilities you're given are hardly necessary and only have to be used because of the level design. Speaking of which...It's a classic Bethesda world which I don't particularly like, but it's a matter of taste I guess. Anyway. I had to put the game on hold because I simple wasn't enjoying it and finished it almost a month after just to get rid of it. The amount of positive emotions I got from the previous game I played - Horizon Zero Dawn - was incomparable. Needless to say I'm not buying any of the DLCs Expand

It's really better than some reviews seem to say. While W:TNO looks dated now, and a little too-serious for its own good, this one has good animations, fluid gameplay and a very fun story with a number of heartfelt moments. Get it.

Badly made garbage that belongs in a dumpster, with every character made to be uglier and more ridiculous than the other, with every single segment being an sjw daydream. It's not a game but a piece of ridiculous propaganda where the authors just circlejerk their self-inserts.

This is such a bs with no brains when I see the old one from 2009. This was an amazinggame, but MACHINE GAMES wrecked it and there is no return to the castle. Everybody prefers the the fast food line...

Absolutely attrocious SJW propaganda - I cannot for the life of me recommend this game. They completely destroyed a good story in the making, and they charge 60 bucks for an hour 8 game

I would have given this a 9, but now the latest PS4 patch has hosed all my save games with a dozen hours lost. The previous patch only hosed my in-mission progress, now every save game refuses to load (str_online_connection_error_03 followed by frozen game) - same as a large number of others. Such shoddy updates completely ruin an otherwise great game.

Couldnt bring myself to finish the game, it got way to political, I like killing nazi's as much as the next guy, but I feel it was too cringey at times, and was obviously talking about the "nazi's" present in America right now. I tried my best to ignore the political message, but it was too hard at times.

Repetitive game with way too many cutscenes and QTEs. It brings absolutely nothing new to the table and is essentially an offline CoD with shoehorned upgrade and RPG mechanics. I just don't see the point of this game.

Also pushing political agendas in a time like this doesn't really seem to be a clever thing to do in my eyes. "Wite ass pig" just isn't bueno.

It's sad to see how once a cult franchise under the influence of SJW propaganda turned into a completely unplayable product that causes nothing but disgust.

Buggy as all hell. Basically just hip-fire for glory. No tactics, no strategy, no thinking involved, just pew pew around nonsensical maps. It's also easy as sheit even on harder difficulties, because the harder difficulties don't make the AI smarter or more tactical or anything, no, it just makes the npc's bigger bullet sponges who do more damage. All that means is that you have to spend a longer amount of time running around the map (to avoid taking damage, really simple. Just keep moving and you don't get hit. . . fml), and shoot more ammo into the bullet sponges before they die. This doesn't make the game harder, it just makes it take longer to kill things.

Conclusion: If you like just running around hip-firing like a prick in a very, very casual shooter that takes no skill, then this is the game for you. If you are like me who remembers actually good shooters like the Half-Life series then "move along, nothing to see here." Seriously, this game is everything that is wrong with modern shooters, while pretending to be an old school shooter.

Decepcionante gunplay. Un gran paso atrás en la franquicia. No tiene nada que hacer ante el gran shooter que es The New Order

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an FPS that makes a ton of good to great decisions, but also a handful of poor ones. Tightly crafted gameplay is marred by adherence to genre conventions, and the narrative gets off to a slow start as the game decides what it wants to be. However, neither of those are enough to drag this down too much, as it is simply too well put together and has more than enough personality and fun to poke through the layer of seriousness draped over the first parts of the campaign. What is left is a game that can stand as a very fine example of its genre, if not quite a groundbreaking one.

The second part continues in the footsteps of its predecessor and does not bring any major changes. However, it brings a hectic, explosive action accompanied by an excellent, though sometimes too exaggerative story.

Shocking, silly and brutal, BJ's comeback spins an enjoyable, if tonally confused, yarn. Despite its issues, this is still a rollicking thoughtfully driven shooter. [Christmas 2017, p.93]
