Graphics: the Visuals are Stunning, though its only a Racing Game, its one of best looking on the ps4 as of right now. (Others come to mine include Driveclub, made by another First Party Sony Studio that is now closed). every second i just want to pause the game and use the inbuilt Camera Mode just to show off every aspect of the game. on the PS3 version it was blurry textures even though it was 1080p 60Fps as well. On 2048 for the Vita, with its small screen you could still tell how beautiful it was but was drowned out by the Resolution, in the Collection lets you see what everyone was thinking, 2048 on a bigger screen and it holds out. every second you see the texture on the roads/tracks and the logos/text on the ships, some things that you wouldn't have seen on the small screen of the Vita. There is added lens flares, and some bloom and glow from the lights around the track that make it even more beautiful than it was before. everything they have done is a plus in this department.

Sound: with the Audio, its different situation from the original 2, the wines of the engines in 2048 that sounded like Star Wars Pod-racers (or Formula 1 cars) are now nearly non existent, the sounds are the exact same with HD/FURY and have No difference even when the years between the 2 are pretty far Apart. the Machine guns & mines Sound more like Pea Shooters than machine guns and the Bombs do not sound like they should, they sound more like the mines than a Sonic/thermal imploder from Star Wars (another Star Wars reference). that said, the sound will grow on me but would have preferred the more futuristic sounds from the originals.

Music: The Music is just like other WipEout games but still could be improved, lucky though they include several tracks from the others which hits the spot. there is no custom music unless you use a USB Drive or Spotify, with this unlike WipEout 2048/HD it doesn't interact with the boosts and getting hit by things, but that doesn't matter because i normally turn that feature off anyway. there is 2 options that they have added where you can choose from the 2 types of music they have in the game.

Campaign: the campaign i don't need to say anything if you already have played HD and 2048, as both are 1000% the same.

Racebox: I'm So glad with this Racebox, not only its 100% identical to HD/FURY, it adds 2048 as well, unlike the original which only had the Campaign and Online which could only let you race pre-made races and events making it impossible to set a track, speed class and AI difficulty of your choice. but one thing i don't like is that you cant choose 2048 ships and use HD/FURY Tracks, which i knew wouldn't happen but would have been great using them on the other tracks than the default. (this goes for online as well. and i don't mean using 2048 ships against HD/Fury ships because that requires balancing and they said they didn't want to change the gameplay)

Online: with Online the last game type, its also identical to HD/FURY which is a good thing, but you can now choose which game you want to create, be it 2048 or HD/FURY, each option lets you choose from the game modes from that game, and choose the ships from it as well, so you don't need to switch to a different game, if you are host you can switch in the settings for that lobby. this is also disappointing that Multiplayer doesn't have challenges like 2048 did, but also relieving that you don't need to choose a map and game mode from 2 randomly generated options.

Ships: the ships in this are the same ones you have in HD/FURY and 2048, but they add extra liveries for 2048 and add 2 extra companies for HD/FURY (Tigron & Van Uber which are only available in HD/FURY), the detail on these ships are amazing, you can now zoom in as close as you want and you will see no pixels or blurry textures. when picking a ship you can turn the ship upside down etc to just admire them.

Tracks: the tracks have been remaster perfectly, they look so good, and they play the same just like normal. the floors are pixel free and you will just drop your jaw in aw looking at the scenery.

MISC: the controls are exactly the same but even better on a PS4 controller. photo mode is great and you just need to open the share menu to save instead of hiding the UI making it quicker than ever.

    Pros: great tracks
    great ships
    great campaign, racebox & online
    amazing replaybility
    stunning visuals
    spot on controls
    easy to learn
    Photo mode is useful

Mix: music is great but could be better
Sounds have change not for the good or worst

Cons: cant mix tracks and ships
    no Objectives in MP

Its technically flawless and in my opinion one of the best racing games as well as one of the best PS4 games alltogether.

On top of that it has a great difficulty progression which is fair to new players, gets challenging quickly and enormously hard towards the end.

Dont get Forza, dont get GrandTourismo, dont get NeedForSpeed, get this, fail horribly, git gud and enjoy this masterpiece.

WipeOut: Omega Collection is amazing on PSVR. I was a bit worried for getting motion sick since other racing games has had that effect on me. However on WipeOut I feel no motion sickness at all, even with the motion sickness reduction set to off (except for align to track). Excellent game!

I've somehow never played a Wipeout game before, but I'm certainly glad I took the plunge with this 4K remaster. The gameplay is legitimately ridiculously fast & colourful, and the soundtrack mirrors it all perfectly. Whilst there isn't exactly great depth to the career mode(s), the races are entertaining enough to keep you motivated throughout.

This game is awesome. I have owned parts of it on the PS3 - and the speed and thrill is still the same. Game is packed with content and is relatively cheap.

However, if you do not own a PSVR headset, you are really missing out. I cannot go back. The flat version is great - but the VR version is just insane. It is better to control due to the depth perception, and it is just crazy.

Should not be played by VR beginners due to motion sickness. But if you have your VR legs - this is the best thing since sliced future racing bread.

The first thing you will notice when you boot up this game is that it looks incredible. From the ship designs themselves to the fully-realized environments, this game looks astonishing. Further, it also runs at a silky smooth 60 frames per second with no dips, even during the most chaotic moments. In a nutshell, this game’s presentation and performance is rock-solid from start-to-finish.

The better presentation works hand-in-hand to significantly improve the gameplay of all the games in this collection. The improved frame rate and graphics allow you to not only be more precise with your movements, but to always know what’s going on, even at the highest of speeds. This propels the gameplay to a new caliber of fun for all audiences. My only complaint would be a somewhat steep learning curve, due to the lack of a proper tutorial on various tricks, and rather opts for a myriad of loading screen tips, which do help. However, the game is fairly forgiving for newer players at first, allowing to slowly build their skill for the higher speed classes. That’s not to say that this game is for beginners, as there are some tough challenges to be conquered, such as earning gold medals in the HD and Fury campaigns on the hardest difficulty, earning the best ranks in the 2048 campaign, and some rock-hard time trials.

This game’s content is vastly greater than the price you’re charged to get it, and as such, is a game you should not miss if you enjoy racing games. With beautiful graphics, shockingly smooth performance, and incredibly fast and fun gameplay, WipEout: Omega Collection not only sets a new bar for WipEout, but for racing games in general, which is an astonishing achievement.

    Negative:
    - The music is 80% trash. what is going on with techno music nowadays? Do yourself a favor and use spotify and choose a trance radio. Wipeout should use fast and energizing trance music.
    - If you completed all 3 career modes and had some fun hours online it get's stale. But always good for a quick ride.

Rock solid 60fps, clean and completely remapped textures, great post processing effects, and a complete lighting overhaul. While it's evident that 2048 has its roots on the Vita, the amount of effort put into bringing it up to the same level as the HD/Fury remasters is to be commended. I would genuinely love to see how this looks on a quality 4K HDR tv on a PS4 Pro.

Even if you've never played the series before, if a futuristic combat racer looks appealing, you can't go wrong with this, especially at the $39.99 (or less) price point.

I do knock it down a point because I find the soundtrack a bit lacking, too many low key entries that lack the typical oomph of Wipeout soundtracks of the past. Also, online play is very hit-or-miss as it relies on individual hosting of races/tournaments and can sometimes be completely barren of activities.

A huge library of content, tons of ships and circuits to play from.

    Cons:
Soundtrack is meh, some classic soundtracks, but the new ones are meh, no way to import your own music either.
    Cars/Ship sounds are very generic and they're all the same for 2048/HD/Fury, when in the original games they were all diferent, not only from one game to another, but each team had different sounds. This was mainly because a new team did the sounds;

Nobody's forcing you to complete everything there is on top difficulty setting to get through the game, and on Novice (which I am) everything seems to be pretty easy for now. In fact, in many races I got results sufficient to beat Gold on Elite on first try. Yes, I already see that it's gonna be tough if I'm gonna go for the platinum, you bet. But that's kinda how the platinum is supposed to be, right? Anyway, the gameplay is responsive, fluid, fun, rewarding and very fast. The graphics are nothing out of this world, but very sharp and miles better then what you can find in DiRT 4. And from the artistic standpoint the ships, the tracks, the menus - everything is gorgeous. This sci-fi futuristic style with it's bright colors and lights, sharp corners and clean lines is never gonna get old. The soundtrack is awesome too, especially if you like techno/electro. I sure do.

The biggest complaint I have is that the music from my PS4 Media server doesn't get the same effects as the music in game. That the developers didn't try to have the game actually read from the server like they did have it do back on the PS3.

Stereoscopic 3D has been removed, I was able to restore it with the features of my 4K 3D TV. However, not everyone here can afford a $3,000+ TV.

What the developers did is... they basically took a handful of features out of the game, features that were available back on the PS3 version... to pave the way for 4K. That's NOT ok, and you guys deserve this review.

Media Server flaws aside, The sound/music doesn't reverberate even using the default music playlists they've given us and the whole experience feels much flatter because of it.

I've messed around with the music/sound settings switching between tv, night mode, and surround sound and it changes absolutely nothing.

The controls feel better on the PS4 controller. The gameplay is solid, and if your TV has the ability to *force* stereoscopic-- then the game is also 3D. The graphics are better too. The sound design absolutely kills the feel of the game though and I don't see myself playing this much when I still have the PS3 version.

The short of this review is:

If you have the PS3 version and you're an audiophile that doesn't really care for better graphics, then stick with the PS3 version. If you're a graphics first kind of guy that also doesn't care about 3D support, or having custom playlists that interact with the game then this is a great buy for you and you shouldn't listen to this review.

(You can use Spotify or the built in media server, but it won't interact with the game like it would back on the PS3)

I'm really hoping that the developers see this review, that they patch in some kind of fix that allows the game to read from the media server or Spotify, and then i'll update my review to a 8/10. I don't like being stuck with the developer's choice for game soundtrack when it wasn't how things were eight years ago. I personally don't care how many thumbs down this review gets. This is my honest review, as I just bought a game that doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the September 2008 release did. I mean, GJ on you guys for implementing 4K, that's going to net you all your positive reviews as PS4 Pro users scramble to find 4K content on their newest console investment. Make it worth their time and money, right? But for those of us who simply don't care, and have been using 4K since 2007... we probably want the same bells and whistles.

One could say that this is more a slam against Sony's abandonment of internal media server support in favor of forcing us all to use their cloud media streaming services... but if that's true, then SIE would have made the game compatible with Spotify or the media server in the first place. Instead, it's on the game developers for not developing support for the media server.

If you have a 4k TV / PS4 Pro and want to show that off, this game is for you. The graphics are amazingly smooth, and you can even read the text on the sides of the ships at high speeds! Unfortunately, for everyone else, this is a hard pass. For newcomers, the 3 (technically 2 since Fury was DLC) games completed are too different to switch back and forth with as far as turning controls, and they're too similar to not get bored grinding to unlock everything. It's a great entry point into the franchise, but that, along with some other frustrations like no training mode or crash course mode will cause a slight learning curve.

For veterans, this will most likely piss you off that there hasn't been a new Wipeout game in 5 years (9 if you didn't buy a Vita.) Playing the same games you probably already bought before with a worse soundtrack and missing features isn't exactly a triumphant celebration of the Wipeout series.

Since there isn't a narrative to these games, a "greatest hits" compilation of tracks/music/ships from all across the series with one game engine would be much preferred. Instead you have a remaster that doesn't really know where it stands between diehard fans and newcomers.

Wipeout Omega Collection is a collection of 3 wipeout games, remade and put together for what feels like 1 giant arcade racing game
The collection includes a campaign for wipeout 2048, wipeout hd, and wipeout furry..
And while this collection makes each campaign feel like it takes place in the same game... each game has its own flavor and style to it, so it standout from the others..
    My personal favorite is 2048...
Sadly this is the smallest campaign in the game
2048 has a great balance of speed and combat…
This campaign only features 4 modes… and 2 of the 4 are based on racing ai or the clock, and the other 2 modes are about not crashing into the walls or being the first to do 100 damage to your opponents..
There are different classes with different stats so you can race with the best vehicle for the job…
Wipeout HD and Wipeout Furry hare vehicles and are much longer campaigns than 2048...
Wipeout HD is more focused on time trials and racing as it features no combat modes... and wipeout furry is heavily combat focused and hardly features racing at and.. and is in turn my least favorite campaign in the game…
Wipeout is a very fast paced racer… there’s no breaking here…
its let off of the gas or nudge yourself left or right… it’s so fast that it’s almost impossible to play with bumper cam
And there are speed boosts around the tracks as well as pickups to sabotage racers, take them out as there is a damage system here, or pick up a shield or speed boost to help you further come out on top..
There’s heart pumping music, some of the greatest track design in arcade racing history…
As they all feel unique and varied, they’re memorable...
However I feel like there are far too tracks for how long these campaigns are…
these tracks are definitely good enough to be played over and over…
just not over and over and over and over..
Eventually I got bored with them…
And the focus of the HD and furry campaigns didn’t help with this boredom…
A lack of combat in hd and a lack of just straight up racing in furry made them feel liked they lacked variety…
This causes the game to start to feel stale…
Don’t get me wrong... its still thrilling and challenging taking down the much better enemies as you go
And seeing combat return in the form of eliminator was nice…
But future Wiepout games need to look back at 2048, for the perfect balance that is…
I was sad when that campaign was over while I was desperately waiting for the others to end
You can of course play these games split screen and online as well, though online seems to be a ghost town…
If youre a fan of arcade racing… despite the game lacking variety the deeper you get..
Wipeout Omega Collection is a must play game
And you can always just move back and forth between the 2 campaigns to get more of a 2048 feel
    And I almost recommend that
    I give Wipeout Omega Collection
    an 8.5/10

Yes it's just a remaster and a collection of older stages but it's almost flawless. It looks really great regardless and plays like a dream. OST update is pretty good as well. I often hear how zero gravity racers are dead, but that's only because since Omage perfection was achieved, you don't need to look further.

As a longtime fan of the Wipeout series, I was beyond overjoyed when Omega Collection was announced. I've only now been able to play it at length, and it's just as good as the originals.
Its biggest strength is definitely the graphical updates. The game looks like how I remember it on the PS3 and PS Vita, which is always a plus. The gameplay is still the same excellence I spent so many

Its biggest strength is definitely the graphical updates. The game looks like how I remember it on the PS3 and PS Vita, which is always a plus. The gameplay is still the same excellence I spent so many hours learning, improving and mastering. I never played 2048 online so there's some ships that I never got to use, such as the Auricom Speed, and using them now that the online campaign has been removed is extremely fun. The biggest downsides, and what keeps this game from being perfect, are the bad soundtrack, the lack of new content, and poor online mechanics. I'm fine with playing my own music, so that's not as bad an issue, but no new content?? Tigron and Van-Uber are great additions for longtime fans, but it's not enough. Lastly, the online play is not good due to the reliance on individual hosting, and in 2022 the online will probably rely on external communication such as Discord to set up a session. Overall, Wipeout Omega Collection is a great way to replay these games, or an even better way to play them for the first time, but if you're looking for something more once it's over, unfortunately you'll have to look elsewhere.

Игра не залетела, видно, что сделана для фанатов, не являюсь поклонником фантастики, поэтому летающие корабли не зашли. В целом игра сделана для узкой аудитории. Графика приятная, но геймплей уныл. 5/10

Sensation of speed, city and technology is truly exquisite. WipEout Omega Collection is remaster of WipEouts 2048, HD and fury. All of them done brilliantly. Graphics are amazing, Altima and Sol tracks were breathtaking for me, truly, and that means much. I will state, that this game is hard sometimes (Zico, I'm watching you), but that shouldn't be an obstacle in loving this game. It'sSensation of speed, city and technology is truly exquisite. Easily the best VR racing game ever made. I know Wipeout since the earliest days of PS1. For me a long dream comes true to play it through VR. The immersive feel when sitting inside a futuristic gravity racer is perfectly done. The impact of speed is amazing and the arcade actions elements adds a lot of fun also.

Compilation of 2048 from the PS Vita and the HD games from the PS3, Omega doesn't add anything new to the series but it's catnip to Wipeout fans. For me the franchise peaked with Pulse on the PSP, but this is the best home console version of the game available.

It's still sad that Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool is no more, but if Omega Collection proves a test-run for the new developers to handle a brand new, original WipEout, then the franchise looks to be in good hands.
