    An extremely promising and interesting early access with a free to play demo that is masqueraded as the full experience. In a rather literal sense, you get what you pay for in warframe, so long as you're smart about how you pay for what.

Warframe's nature as a co-op shooter prevents it from falling into the P2W trap on the basis that if players with vastly superior gear to yours blitz through a mission, you will still receive XP and thus level up. In similar manner you will also still receive the mission rewards upon said mission's conclusion. However this is where the pay to progress comes in and.

    I have put a good amount of time and money into the game so both the buying and earning parts have been amply used. Now let's be clear here, you will not get better weapons or warframes as a starting player without buying them, period. Warframe can be considered free as a demo, but to properly experience the game requires that you at least purchase a $20 Platinum pack and use it very judiciously.

    The main argument that is always made is that you can earn everything that can be bought in the game, thus never having to pay anything. What you are not told however is that the materials, components and blueprints required cannot even be obtained until you have progressed so significantly in the game to the point where you can no longer be called a new player. You cannot progress in the game without better gear, thus we have a vicious cycle that forces spending to be able to even use the 'free' option.

    You will have to be extremely careful with your spending as well, $20 will get you a single warframe if you aren't careful or not even a single warframe. Prices range from 75p for the excellent volt to 375p for the abysmal Ash. weapons tend to fall into a range of 100-275p. You must also purchase warframe and weapon slots and special orokin components to improve your warframes and weapons. be aware that all store bought gear comes pre-installed with these components which will run you about 20p a piece.

    If you do get the materials required then you can craft the item in the foundry. the shortest wait time for the sweet, sweet reward to all your efforts is 12 hours....the longest wait is 72...you can pay up to 60p to rush the process. Most of the things you can buy as new player are crap, you need to be at least mastery rank 2 before you are even 'allowed' to purchase anything of reasonable strength. You can buy a booster pack that will make the grind for ranking up go twice as fast. You can only try the rank up test once every 24 hours, you cannot pay platinum to speed it up if you fail.

    Coming back to the pay to progress part, certain weapons and warframes have unreasonable resource requirements that no sane person will want to have to deal with. The Zephyr warframe for example demands 600 oxium, which drops in sets of 1 or 2 from a relatively rare specific enemy that is heavily armoured and will suicide if you get in its general proximity. you can buy oxium 30p for 300 on PC, not on PS4. Zephyr is 275p in the store. In case it weren't obvious by now, Digital Extremes wants your money, they want it really bad and are not ashamed to make this abundantly clear in as blatant a manner as possible. The store prices are horrifically inflated and you will build a high end gaming PC for the money it would cost to buy everything from their in game store....

    But what happens when you do give them your money? well...For one thing the customization and art direction in warframe are nothing short of stellar. premium warframes like Rhino Prime or Zephyr not only look stunning and exquisitely detailed but the 75p colour packs allow you to perfectly tailor a warframe to your tastes. The same applies to weapons and the little sentinel pets that go for 75p a piece. Also, bisecting a dozen enemies with a single swing of your Galatine greatsword is sweet.

    If you join a good, active clan you will be rewarded with a very enthralling social dynamic. the camaraderie and bromance an display in a good clan kind of approximates Monster Hunter in the whole, bonding over a quest to get parts for a desired item, kind of way. You do need a clan to provide you with interesting and meaningful goals though...as is, warframe's gameplay is both generic and repetitive. it comes closest to Mass effect 3 multiplayer in that you have a character with 4 powers, a primary weapon, secondary weapon and in warframe's case a melee weapon. The thing is that the enemy variety is very, very low and they are all exceedingly dumb (though some have stellar marksmanship) the game is at its best during its imitation of horde mode.

    Played for 400+ hours and don't regret a second of it. About 50 hours in I'd say it starts to get really fun. Especially when you get your first prime set. Enemies can get a bit stupid at higher levels unless you have a tanky frame I guess but seeing that new weapon you just made, slaughtering everything in your pat is really satisfying and it's nice to know all the grinding you have donePlayed for 400+ hours and don't regret a second of it. About 50 hours in I'd say it starts to get really fun. Especially when you get your first prime set. Enemies can get a bit stupid at higher levels unless you have a tanky frame I guess but seeing that new weapon you just made, slaughtering everything in your pat is really satisfying and it's nice to know all the grinding you have done is paying off. Don't stop playing after the prologue, play for a good 40-50 hours to understand that this game is really cool.     This Game deserves your time and the Metacritic score is totally incorrect this game isint a 69 it deserves a 75 at least due to its amazing lore excellent gameplay and a Non-Toxic community unlike most games today such as Call of Duty so please really try this game and support Digital extreames.

    Great free game with good graphics. And go even on a very weak PC. The game does not have to pay money. And plus this game that it is on PC, PS4, xbox and Nintendo Switch.

    First of all I want to emphasize on the fact that this is a genuine free game, where you really don’t need to pay in order to play and have fun! You won’t find a hidden obstacle preventing you from advancing or even playing in general like in so many other alleged free to play games.     Real currency can be spend on either accelerating build processes of weapons and warframes (the classes in the game) or for buying cosmetic stuff like additional colors or capes etc. But Warframe really is no pay to win game!

    At first you might think that Warframe is a simple third person shooter but the longer you play the more complex it gets. Seriously, this game is getting so freaking complex that I still haven’t figured out everything, yet.
    Unfortunately it’s true that the game sadly has a very steep learning curve and that you sooner or later need to consult Google, a wiki or YouTube etc. for advice.

    The graphics are beautiful and very clean. The different warframes and weapons have a distinct and cool look and they all feel very different which gives you a huge selection to choose from. You have lots of primary, secondary and melee weapons, companions and of course the warframes themselves.

    The gameplay is fluid and fun. For some people the game might be too fast (think Call of Duty) but you get used to it and start running on walls in no time. The new parkour system 2.0 is a lot better than the movement system in the older versions of Warframe. In fact, I’m pretty impressed with the developers that they put so much effort into this game.
    Playing Warframe in cooperation with friends is a great experience and so much fun. This is actually the way the game is meant to be played. Sure you can play every mission by yourself but firstly will that be pretty difficult later in the game and secondly isn’t it as much fun.

    What I really love about this game is its addictive formula where you’re constantly hunting for new loot. It’s not just weapons and new warframes you’re after, so called mods are crucial in making your equipment versatile and better, too. Mods vary very much in their functionality and can give you, for instance, elemental damage, faster reload speed, more power for your warframes and so on. It’s a great way to customize your load out.

    One of downsides of Warframe are those huge levels that constantly give you a sense of déjà vu. It’s like a random level generator with only 20 pieces. Very soon you see a place where you ask yourself: “Haven’t I just been here already?” Levels feel like developers made them huge just for the sake of size, not because they really need to be big. Most levels could easily be halved and still be fun and bigger than maps in most other shooters!

    Again, since this is a free to play game, it’s a definite must-try in my eyes! Try bringing one or more friends with you and you will have an absolute blast :) !    … Expand

    for me warframe is unlike anything I have ever played before. for a lot of people, this game may seem daunting. Not very much explanation for how most of the game works, grinding for materials if you don't for buy micro-transactions, and way too much stuff to know where to begin. For most people those things are a turn-off, but for me personally, that's what makes me love the game.

    I love games that make grinding the cornerstone of their game (destiny, Pokemon, etc.) so this game feels right at home with me, not to mention the interesting flow and combat in the game make it all the more interesting to grind. Other things like the little explanation for how the game works and the vast amounts of things to do may seem over-encumbering to most, but to me, i feel like it gives me an open canvas to paint, to make my adventure feel as unique as i wish to make it.

    Fast combat, a wide variety of guns and characters to grind for, and an open canvas give me all the reason to love this game.

    the only reason i gave it a 9 and not a 10, is that all items that you grind towards to make, are timegated forcing you to wait 12-24 hours to complete    … Expand

It doesn't have to be in marathon gaming sessions, but every hour you put in you get closer to a goal. For those who just want to pick up a game, play for 8 hours and beat it (like CoD for example) this isn't your type of game.     Aside from some cosmetic pieces - everything is obtainable in the game without paying for it. DE has done such an incredible job of adjusting and tweaking the 30+ warframes to choose from that whatever ones you like - you can play - and they are viable with most if not all of the content.

    So if you are a person who likes to set short/long term goals, if you like farming for resources, if you like space ninjas, then this game is for you. I left D2 to play Warframe and couldn't be happier.    … Expand

    For the price of nothing this game is a marvel to behold, it should be hailed in the gaming community. The graphics are good, the servers are very good, and the gameplay is solid. I think it can start to dip in interest once you have completed the star chart and most of the missions but even still, that will take many hours, especially if you are like me, someone who take their time through games.

    The reason that this game received many low reviews from critics is they reviewed the game while in its infancy, the game was bad then, but over the course of 6 years, the Devs have completely changed the game, it has so much more now that it didn't at launch, and it has really evolved, DE has really done an excellent job sticking with this game, and it has paid off for them.     THE BEST free2play game I've ever played, first tried it on ps4 and I was blown away by how much content there is in this game. Even bigger surprise was an actual in game chat right from good old PC MMO days and I've never though it could be SO USEFUL on consoles until I got it, now I want every developer to do it in their multiplayer games. There's a squad chat, clan chat, region chat,THE BEST free2play game I've ever played, first tried it on ps4 and I was blown away by how much content there is in this game. Even bigger surprise was an actual in game chat right from good old PC MMO days and I've never though it could be SO USEFUL on consoles until I got it, now I want every developer to do it in their multiplayer games. There's a squad chat, clan chat, region chat, recruitment chat and trade chat, why is this such a huge deal? Well I played destiny and destiny 2 and they had none of that, finding players was a huge problem, it's not a problem at all in warframe.
    Another great thing is community, everyone is so helpful and no one blames you for anything, people explain what you need and what you don't need to do in in-game chat, this in-game chat is essentially an open forum with players always there to answer any and all of your questions.
    Gameplay is great, very fast and dynamic, graphics are not top tier but the game is quite old and free2play so there's no reason to expect top tier destiny level of graphics but it's still really good especially during cutscenes of story quests. Oh those quests and that great story, I've spent over 100 hours thinking my warframe is one thing but then story twist just turned it up side down and I was blown away yet again, and it's not just good story for a free2play game it's a great story in general, much better and more interesting than most recent Triple A games. Another big thing for me is the amount AND QUALITY of weapons, I really mean that, every weapon not just looks cool it also shoots differently from other weapons of the same type, there's like 4 types of bows(not 4 bows, there's much much more than 4 I'm talking about 4 types as in it's a bow but it's nothing like the other bow I used before), there's I don't know how many rife types, each is different one shoots just like a regular rifle, the other shoots some plasma and another one shoots with bolts yeah bolts and you see how they fly and pierce enemies sticking them to walls.
    But of course it's not perfect, it has lots of bugs and glitches like you getting stuck in the wall and quests not appearing when everything needed for the quest is complete, it doesn't ruin the game but it's one BIG thing that wont't allow me to give it a perfect 10/10 score.

    It's free2play game so there are micro transactions, but there's a reason why I said warframe is "THE BEST free2play game I've ever played" and it's because you don't have to pay for anything, both pay and play aspects are very balanced and the only thing a free player will need a premium currency for is more inventory space, which is not a problem at all and the new player is given a starting premium current called platinum that can be used right away to get more inventory space, enough not to worry about it for multiple months.    … Expand

    Warframe is one of those games that is a lot of fun, but your going to want the wiki page sitting next to you at all times.     Warframe is one of those games that is a lot of fun, but your going to want the wiki page sitting next to you at all times. As your progress though the game you can customize your characters, weapons, and sentinels with mods. You can add heat or electricity to your weapon igniting or electrifying your foes. You can also add heat and electricity creating radiation damage turning affected enemies against each other. As of update 14 (basically warframe 2.0) you have a choice of 3 warframes (choose volt) melee, side arms, and primary weapons. The part that throws a lot of people off is the market. The market sells weapons, frames and such for platinum. Platinum cannot be earned in game and is very expensive costing real world currency. The market also sells blueprints for weapons, equipment, and such for in game earned credits. Blueprints can also be dropped by enemies and found by other means in game. Once you have a blueprint you need to farm materials needed to build the parts needed. To build a frame you will need to construct the helm, chassis, and systems. This is really what the game is about: unlocking planets farming materials and building new warframes or items to make your warframes better. The problem with building is that each part takes an insultingly long amount of time to build. To build a new warframe the three parts take 12 hours and once they're built turning them into a warframe takes 3 days (the timer will continue ticking if your logged of). You can build parts simultaneously so the three parts won't take 36 hours, but it feels like a slap in the face. The gameplay is fast passed and fun, but can get repetitive. If you have a team of 3 players coordinating it adds depth, but the majority of public squads will just get from point a to point b as fast as possible turning an experience into a chore. The variety in the frames weapons and skills is impressive to say the least. I could go on for hours, but I need to wrap this up.

    Pros:
    -Free to play so you have nothing to loose in trying this game out
    -Your a wall running parkouring space ninja
    -4 player coop
    -Vary wide variety of warframes and weapons
    -The mod system adds to that variety in ways I don't have time to put into text
    -Every item you can buy can also be acquired in game
    -Great balancing; there's really no "best weapon or warframe" each is unique
    -Fast paced gameplay
    -Beautiful visuals
    -Consistent updates adding new levels environments weapons and warframes
    -Can be played with keyboard and mouse

    Cons
    -Slow start; the game really opens up after the 30% mark
    -The tutorial does not explain a lot (you will need to reference the wiki constantly)
    -Crazy expensive market
    -Majority of random created squads will have you racing through most missions as quickly as possible(make friends)
    -The time it takes to build items is a bad joke
    -Although it's not required you will most likely end up spending $10-20 (not bad for a game, but you need to be wise with what you spend it on)
    -A fair share of bugs
    -Updates cannot be preformed in the background (you may be able to watch Netflix or other apps that don't require a lot of ram, but you cannot play games)    … Expand

    For a free game this experience is truly amazing , especially considering that , if you grind enough, there isnt a single thing in the game you cant fet with ingame rewards.
    Its developers are really listening to its community and updates come at a steady pace as well as new weapons , enemies , missions, etc.

    If you like to grind , you'll find this game enjoyable, if not , you'll leave it pretty quickly.

Id like to start of positively and say that Warframe is one of the shining examples of how to do F2P games without holding the player's wallet as a hostage. Warframe deftly avoids the trap of holding the player's wallet hostage in order to progress further into the game, unlikeThis review of Warframe will be based on the most current build as of 3/25/15, version. 15.16 for the PS4. Id like to start of positively and say that Warframe is one of the shining examples of how to do F2P games without holding the player's wallet as a hostage. Warframe deftly avoids the trap of holding the player's wallet hostage in order to progress further into the game, unlike hundreds of games that use this model before it. That's not to say that you can't buy weapons or items to save time, but if you choose to do so, the player still has to do the work in order to make that weapon more powerful through repeated use and acquisition of mods to upgrade it, which cannot be side stepped by slipping a few dollars across the counter. The one exception here are the reactor and catalyst items. These outright double the mod capacity of any item they are usable on and essentially double that items level. I would consider this a negative if DE didn't always give these away to players every 2 weeks as well as they can be gotten as daily login rewards, alert mission rewards, quest rewards and just outright gifts for players. You can also buy boosters for experience, resources, and in-game currency an can be purchased as well, but since it does not take long to get a weapon to its maximum level, it wont give you any sort of leg up on the competition, since this is primarily a PvE game. Even in the few PvP modes, since the primary way to gain power is through mods, which are consigned to enemy drops, you cannot buy any advantages there either and will have to settle for picking the appropriate Warframe and weapons for the job. Not to say the store is perfect, as there are a few flaws there. The real cash shop sells weapons, and they are hilariously overpriced compared. Simply put any player who learns enough about the game will know immediately to never buy weapons from the market and simply save your real cash for things like cosmetics, reactors/catalysts, and weapon/frame slots.

    The gameplay end is sort of a mixed bag. The game, in terms of its balance is sublime from its beginnings to the mid-game. There's a fair mix of Warframe ability use along with melee combat and ranged weapon use. This balanced part of the game allows for more options and freedom and experimentation on how to dispatch your enemies as well as customize your weapon to perform differently. The highest level difficulty missions effectively squelch creativity and demand that players use only the most effective, efficient playstyles or get overwhelmed and wipe. On one hand that makes sense, because its high level content, but on the other, its BORING. There are roughly 200+ weapons and 20+ frames not counting primes and a handful of these things will perform acceptably in order defeat this content (like literally 10-12 weapons are deemed good enough for high level content). This wouldn't be much of an issue had the game not implemented an insane scaling spike starting at the mid 30+ levels. Suddenly, more than 9/10ths of the arsenal is deemed useless or impractical for this content which results in players being funneled towards the same setups, stacking only damage mods simply to be effective while leaving performance-altering and other mods out cold simply because the only stat that matters is damage. I should also state that players do not scale at all the way enemies do in their defenses, which leads to the narrowing of warframe choice as those who are built for crowd control tactics are only deemed acceptable because of their ability to deny the enemy the ability to fight back because the enemy's scaling makes them so overpowered that our non scaling warframes would die from a single stray bullet. The combination of these two issues leads to players building their frames in a way to eliminate any inefficiency and only the best setups will get you anywhere if you want higher level rewards. This is a huge issue, because games tend to open up when you get to the end and present the player with a plethora of valid options for the toughest content, and Warframe is the exact reverse of this, only crowd control Warframes, only high damage, high crit weapons will let you even attempt this content. That literally weeds out the vast majority of your choices in mods, weapons and frames. The other negatives involve mainly traversal, its full of jank to be quite frank. maneuvers such as climbing on a ledge, running up or across a wall simply do not perform consistently as executed. You may even fall through geometry if you accidentally attempt a wall run at a certain angle on certain tile sets. which will cost you a one of your 4 daily revives for that frame instead of the game simply teleporting you back to a safe spot.

    The game itself still needs more polish, but the social tools, clan features, syndicates(factions), are evolving at a fast clip and the problems I've outlined may not be as endemic in the future thanks to constant updates.    … Expand

    Loved this game for a while, then just felt repetitive so down to a like. Probably one of the better free games on the playstation store but can just get far too repetitive and the planets look the same.

    I feel this game is extremely underrated, given how well the devs listen and communicate with their players. They take actual feedback and update/ expand the game consistently, and have a free-to-play model that doesn’t feel predatory.

While the sheer amount of content found in this game is quite daunting, (and this isn’t helped by the fact that the tutorials don’t help much), once you actually begin to understand the mechanics, there is a stupid amount of content to be found inDon’t let the lower meta critic score fool you. While the sheer amount of content found in this game is quite daunting, (and this isn’t helped by the fact that the tutorials don’t help much), once you actually begin to understand the mechanics, there is a stupid amount of content to be found in this game. The massive plethora of guns, warframe classes, planets, and missions made it so that you are always pursuing a different goal. The gameplay works all in the favor of this massive plethora, as because the gameplay feels smooth, responsive, strong, and awesome. One thing about Warframe that seemed strange at first, but later loved so deeply about the mechanics is that no weapon/class is superior to another. (Except the prime sets, which are basically the original class on crack). In other words, you can go through all progression with a single set. But doing that would only limit your arsenal, because Warframe rewards you for playing different weapons and Warframes through mastery, where the more mastery you have, the more weapons you can toy around with. Simply the fact that there is no one correct path to go down in progression, really gives a true sense of customization. Also, the free to play model rarely, if at all gets in the way of the experience, which is a surprising shock to me. (I know y’all kids are gonna say Fortnite did the same thing, but that felt predatory in terms of community because you get trash talked if you don’t have a good skin). Interesting and unpredictable plot and very deep lore, good gameplay, VERY big number of primary, secondary and cold weapon and your warframes with different abilities, good graphics and its own style. And the main plus of this game - its not pay-to-win junkyard, you can gain almost all things with your own work. Very recommend not to quit thisThis is the best free game i have ever seen.     For anyone looking for a looter shooter, don’t come to warframe. It may have come out before destiny 1 or 2 but either of them are much better. Don’t be drawn in by space ninjas with destiny-like abilities cause the abilities are less in depth than destiny, no trees like in the equally free destiny 2, worse gunplay, and almost no interesting characters.

Love the way this team continues to innovate and introduces new things to do. So what it costs a little coin at some point. I've been used to forking out $180 a yr to Blizzard ($15 a month. WoW sub). Paying $60 for the slots is no big deal. I'll gladly pay it if the $/time value is right. And let me tell you this game delivers that in spades. Factions, player hubs (coming), diversified and rewarding events, plentiful true exclusive content that give YOU personality (IE enough content that when someone misses it they don't feel they are left out, because to attain it all is hardly possible), continually evolving universe, again... personalityyyy... This game is were "replay-ability" is happening in the current. Until developers can capitalize on the idea portrayed in No Man's Sky. "This" , in my opinion is the best example yet. To each their own. But as for me, a "sci-fi" lovin, first/third person who gives a lovin, super-power toatin', take soma' my ' _insertfavoriteweapon_ to the... / melee as a primary WHAT! :) ! ...     honestly this game feels like a improved version of destiny. I mean it is a ton of fun and will definitely keep me entertained until bloodborne comes out. Also if you are a person and you give this game a lower score than destiny, cod, or any given mario series.... just die for me thanks ;*. oh and the pay for stuff you can earn relatively easily so no harm no foul.

    This game is far from being a pay to win game, if you played long enough, you'd realize that anything and everything can be forged in the game if you find or buy the blueprint for it, I personally have hundreds of hours in the game and i Haven't spent a dime, definitely worth the trouble however, because, well, no pay to win deserves a ten on it own! I hope others agree with me...

    Let me start by saying "wow, this is free?". Its rare these days to find a game with so much content, let alone a free game with this much content. Considering you can pay $49.99 for angry birds on ps4, this is a no-brainer.

    I think we've gotten too used to having games you can wrap in a day or even a week, and this game could potentially take you more than a year to fully master if you have, you know, a life beyond gaming. Its extiemely refreshing to see a publisher make a game that can't be finished in a weekend. Not since the days of diablo 2, and possibly world of warcraft have you seen a game that takes this long. And in my opinion, thats what sets it apart from a lot of other games these days.

    The gameplay has a decent learning curve that, while difficult, brings an appropriate degree of difficulty to the table. I don't want a game thats mindlessly easy, I need something that will take a while to get really good at. The gunplay is suitably challenging, likewise for the swordplay. Though the swordplay can be a little counter productive at times. I question wether a melee targeting system would be beneficial though, as I feel it would take away the challenge, and thus the satisfaction of cutting baddies in half with a well-timed strike.

    The crafting system reflects my earlier statement of this game takes a while. Getting all the mats needed to make a gun or sword or warframe can definitely take a while, but again, it adds to the replay value. I personally view the microtransaction aspect as a bonus, the game itself IS free after all. And while some have said the prices are a little steep, I again think its appropriate, given that $60 is not enough to unlock every single item, and thus remove the incentive to spend the time it takes to play this properly.

    The modifications you can make to your gear are also near infinite. With the ability to not only upgrade your weaponry AND abilities, but to upgrade the UPGRADES is something new to me, at least in its implementation. You can spend more time customizing than it takes to wrap call of duty: ghosts. Even down to the color scheme of your whole gear set. Oh, did I mention this game is free?

    All that being said, my main gripe comes from the lack of instructions. Upgrading, even the gameplay is not very well explained, and thats where it loses a point. Overall, the game makes up for it with sheer content volume, and frequent updates. Also, do NOT come into this game with a run-of-the-mill shooter mindset. This is definitely a form of action rpg in my opinion, with the grinding and itemization. It just happens to also be a shooter. If you've come this far in my review and are still on the fence, let me hammer this home for you. This. Game. Is. Free. It won't cost you a dime unless you get greedy and decide you want fancy gadgets with minimal effort. Even then, theres plenty of game here. Absolutely %100 worth a spin.     This is really fun, fast paced, 3rd person shooter. There is a ton of variety in loadouts as a result of it being an MMORPG styled shooter. Consequently however, the story is severely lacking any depth at all and the menus are VERY unintuitive to the point of being downright awful. For a free-to-play game however, it's hard to fault it at all.

    For a Free to Play title, Warframe is about as good as it gets. The visuals are gorgeous, the combat fun and satisfying. I've only played for a couple of hours so far but I'm looking forward to more. I'd have no problem buying a couple things in the game since it so well done. Give it a shot.

It's possible to go stealth, which is a great strategy for myself. Lots of levels. Lots of customisations and weapons, but extremely limited if you dont want to spend any real money on it.     You'd think after the absolute failure of the Plains of Eidolon that DE would've actually taken time to make Fortuna good. They didn't. Matter of fact, they made it worse, and threw in game crashes just for fun. This game used to be good, now it's nothing but garbage. Do not play this game.

    The game is cool. Learning it is a huge learning curve. There is alot to know and the tutorial doesnt really help hence the low score. If you add a tutorial in the game about how to do mods and upgrades and how to navigate playing menus and stuff it would be way more enjoyable. Just a few tweeks and you would have a great game. Its mediocre you could totally live without ever playing this.

Or every 3-4 months, since consoles are not even top 10 list of priorities for Digital "PC Masterrace" Extremes. Almost 3 years now and still no "wars" are being fought, no clan based pvp, no working Dark Sectors, no auction/marketRIP Warframe. Been playing since PS4 launch day, at the time of writing Mastery Rank 21.7 and all frames. Ive watched as its only gotten worse every month. Or every 3-4 months, since consoles are not even top 10 list of priorities for Digital "PC Masterrace" Extremes. Almost 3 years now and still no "wars" are being fought, no clan based pvp, no working Dark Sectors, no auction/market system for trades, and the same old boring hallway missions and void key grinds. All DE does is add more cosmetics and p2w systems. The raids are actually worse than Destiny and Conclave is a joke - completely disjointed from the main game with separate rules and stats. Archwing could have been a redeeming factor if the Arches played more like Gundams and the enemies were more like Mobile Suits, however you are just a monkey with a rocket pack fighting miners on hovercrafts. DE should have never ported to PS4 (and even worse to xbox) if they had no intentions of running Crossplay. Oh well, Paragon will be the game you wish Warframe could be.     The designs of the armour are excellent, based on Manga character "The Guyver", but the game menus are confusing to navigate, and the crafting section is baffling. If you manage to get into a game, you are rewarded with a nice simple third person shooter, with some solid mechanics, and some fun cyber-ninja action. This all lasts for a few levels before you realise that every level feels the same, then you get bored, and move on.

    If you hop into a game a few friends, its a good excuse to use party chat, and play something for free until some more AAA games like Destiny come out. As for paying for anything in the game, no, not worth it. If you've done one level, you've done them all.    … Expand

    The only thing that DE managed to work properly on PS4 port is micro-transactions. The rest of the game is a giant mess with unplayable framerate that dips below 25fps A LOT and it looks like a slideshow.

    This is a F2P game that you don't have to spend any money on to enjoy. That's the most important part. I like it so much that I will probably spend something like $10 on it along the way, but there is no need. It would be purely aesthetic.

    Stealth is a viable option for the first 10-15 levels or so, but then it is not an easy option without the right Warframe. This is not upsetting, but not something that I expected.
    Lastly, playing on a four player team with good teammates is exciting, fun, and addicting. The only problem I have run into is that sometimes there is too much going on at a time and the frame rate dips. This does take away from the enjoyment of the game and I wish they would fix this. This and the stealth drop it another point.
    I would recommend this game to my friends if they like playing online only games with an RPG element. The fact that you can farm in order to make weapons is a plus for me. This is an option instead of purchasing the weapons with real money. One last thing. They have "daily" challenges that are up for limited amounts of time, giving you the opportunity to get some rare items you would otherwise have to work real hard for. I put "daily" in quotes because the challenges stay up for various amounts of time. Sometimes it is an hour, other times it is days.     What makes the game most enjoyable for me is it's rapid pace. Although it is possible to sneak through missions largely undetected, this doesn't produce a very satisfying experience for me. It takes far too long with far too much patience required for groups of enemies to present themselves in such a manner as to allow for assassinations or sneaking. With 4 rough-and-tumble players in a mission, any mission can be completed in 5 minutes or under.

    Where WARFRAME fails to achieve a higher score is in a few aspects:

    1. Load times on the PS4 are fairly atrocious, particularly when compared to the PC version.
    2. The tutorial is basically worthless. Much of my learning was done "on-the-job" by fooling around with various menus and figuring things out on my own; and taking much time to do so.
    3. Although the game is free-to-play, the game tries to make it as inconvenient as possible to do so. You can acquire most items in the game without paying for platinum (ie, the game's pay-currency), but it takes long hours of resource farming and construction; most weapons take 24 hours to construct once you have all of the resources, and additional warframes (ie, characters) take 72 hours to construct. This is further hampered by the limited number of item/warframe slots available to the non-paying player.
    4. It takes several missions before the game gets difficult and therefore interesting.

    This is currently an open-beta version (I believe), and hopefully these aspects get alleviated on final release; but I doubt this will happen, as apparently the game is already experiencing much success as is.    … Expand

    When I first played the game I found it pretty boring. Levels all looked the same, seemed too big and empty, single player was too hard and not fun and I had no idea how to progress other than just leveling up naturally. Framerate was highly variable but in some defense missions could crash into single frame territory. Graphics were okay but very flat and loading times were not good. After spending a few hours on Mercury I gave up and moved on to other launch titles.

    A month or so later I threw it on again one day for something different to play. There had been an update. I noticed the levels seemed a little more varied and joining some games with random players I saw new weapons and abilities that seemed interesting even if I didn't have them. I also found you need to play the games with others as the game is not aimed at the single player. I started to read up on how you upgrade your weapons and get better equipment and other warframes. That lead to a bit of grind to unlock more planets to access more resources needed, but I enjoyed the game whilst grinding.

    Over the following months update after update came, introducing new content, extra game modes, and improved graphics. Now on version 14 Warframe loads faster, has much nicer graphics, has much more varied environments, a silky smooth framerate with none of the drops you used to see and for the new player a better set of tutorial levels, free upgrades to get you started and a whole set instructions on how the game works to save you having to trawl the internet.

    Switching between this and recently released Destiny makes me really appreciate how far the game has come, and the first thing you notice is how much smoother the framerate is on Warframe than Destiny. Also how in many ways Warframe appears to offer more of the variety people have complained is absent from Destiny.

    Not to say this game is for everyone mind. You have to endure a bit of grind to unlock stuff, especially earlier in the game but the more you progress the easier it becomes. You don't have to pay any money but having clocked over 160 hours and it being my most played game I have spent around £15 on it to open up slots to keep my new weapons and Warframes and in the close on a year I've been playing I have only spent half the in game platinum that purchased.

    Looking forward I can only imagine that future updates will continue to add more and more to this game which is one of the main reasons I recommend it as it just keeps getting better and offering something new. It is not without fault although many of the technical issues have been addressed. People looking for competitive multiplayer aren't catered for.

    In summary Warframe now is a solid game experience that will continue to grow and improve. It has been dramatically improved over the last year and offers a great experience to those who are willing to put the time in. Im would strongly recommend giving it a try, after all it is free so what have you got to lose.    … Expand

Warframe is more like an Early Access game at this point all progress will remain but the game is still being built up for example the drastic changes in UI brought about via Title update 14 as such the game in my opinion is around 50% done with plenty more to come when it ends it's "Beta."

    With all Free to play games there do come the most hated part by some "Micro-Transactions" however in my opinion Warframe got the model right. While you can purchase almost all the weapons and Warframes, you can acquire all the Weapons and Warframes in the game by playing missions either to get the parts or materials. The only thing that DE(Digital Extremes) has locked behind Platinum(Premium Currency) are Cosmetic items such as color palettes and additional armor pieces that are Cosmetic only. You start out with 2 Warframe Inventory slots 1 already taken by your starting Warframe and 5 for your weapons. while this does not seem like very many Slots to start with they are priced well early on and while still being new to the game is more than enough to get you started.

    now if you are not one who wants to spend anything on the game you can earn Platinum by going through missions acquiring Mods , and Prime Weapon Parts and Void Keys to sell to other players for platinum Via the Trade System. (Must be a Mastery Rank 2 to unlock access to trade). By selling items you can acquire additional weapon and Warframe slots with Ease.

    Game play on Warframe is quite fluid while the rare occasional bug creeps up that is best explained that the game is still in Beta and changing drastically with each new update.

    Warframes each come with a set of 4 Abilities that allow them to affect the flow of Combat as well as your weapon choices. each Warframe can be enhanced by adding Mod Cards that affect things such as armor Shield Health and more.

    There are a Vast choice of Weapons in Warframe currently as of this posting over 125 choices between primary secondary and Melee . each weapon can also be customized in damage type by adding any kind of elemental damage to most weapons ( Fire, Ice, Toxin, Lightning ) as well as damage types by combination of the four base types( Radiation, corrosive, Blast , Viral , Gas, Magnetic, ) so there are a great many ways each weapon can be Modified.

    The maps have a semi Dynamic approach to them where the Mission will not be the exact same each time. while certain rooms will look and feel familiar the way they are laid out may not be the same each time you play it . When you take into Account that Each map is either a Faction Facility or Ship in Space it makes sense that there would be Similarities in Design each time you play but it is different enough to keep it feeling fairly fresh.

    while Warframe has some issues with some FPS issues on the PS4 as well as a couple of glitches with the UI when taken into account that this is in my opinion an "Early Access Game" it becomes a little easier to take the bugs as the come knowing they will be fixed.

    Warframe has one of the Best FTP models i have seen and I am looking forward to the years to come it is a fun game with plenty of content to keep you playing.

    I Suggest if you have not tried it yet you should pick it up and give it a go , there is no reason to pay for Platinum unless you want to and want to support the Developers.

    I was a great fan of the game for years, I must admit that almost two months ago no dont play and for a simple reason, they (DE) were in charge of destroying all the entertaining that had the game. No one plays in coop anymore and the ones left are newbies that leave you in the middle of a game. Regrettable.

    I’ll make this short, I love this game. It’s so unique from other games that it gives it its own feel. I like the story, and I especially love the Weapons designs. There’s also a cool mod system that makes things a bit more unique. It’s not perfect, but not bad.

The map is often quite large and sparsely populated and it's easy to get lost, which isn't fun. You race round picking up loot. You have to perform simple minigames to turn off alarms and unlock vaults. Then you achieve your goal and head back to be extracted. Enemies are either easily killed or bullet sponges. There are a few warframes and abilities that make it too easy. Rhino is super strong. Octavia can kill rooms with a rolling disco ball. You end up wondering what the point of it all is when the weapons are all essentially the same but with different stats. There's a PvP mode but the game is geared more towards PvE. The devs have added quite a lot (a flying mode, a mode where you are crewing a spaceship, etc) but the core game can get repetitive fast.… Expand

So, you find no classy jerks like the ones in Destiny's hub and you get to play for free. And as an icing on the cake, the game itself runs smooth. With fast paced 3rd Person Shooter mechanics, smooth leg tricks and an awesome katana that slices you enemies in half. I played as a Tenno, who can use force fields and bullet attractors to magnetically pull bullets out of other's guns! It's that awesome. There are some pther free to play games on PS Store and Loadout and DC Universe Online are downloading in my queue, but I'd rather play another round of Warframe with my friends than crazily shooting lunatics in Visceral's Battlefield Hardline. And the PS4 version is the best version to experiance Warframe.     Seeing as it costs you nothing to give it a go I highly recommend you play it for at least an hour or two and see what you think. I have enjoyed it a lot. It can be repetitive and it does have a lot of grinding but the combat is so fun and progressing in level, upgrades, warframes and weapons keeps me coming back for more.    … Expand

    The first mis-step this game makes is proclaiming that the Tenno are 'Space Ninja's'. One might think then that the game has stealth, and while it does have stealth it's just horrible...boring really. The best part is that there are no advantages to using stealth, only disadvantages. The best way    I'm quite indifferent to this game. It's isn't bad, nor is it great. It just kind of...is.

    The first mis-step this game makes is proclaiming that the Tenno are 'Space Ninja's'. One might think then that the game has stealth, and while it does have stealth it's just horrible...boring really. The best part is that there are no advantages to using stealth, only disadvantages. The best way to play the game is to chop off the self-proclaimed 'ninja' tag and throw on a 'Mercenary' tag. At least that way you'll get a better sense of what your doing and how to do it.

    The game does run smoothly overall, aside from the overtly blinding Bloom effects...seriously Warframe dev's, chill out with the Bloom.

    The gameplay is rather clunky. You'll usually have to press a button multiple times because the Tenno move so sluggishly. The game also has a neat 'parkour' function in which you can run and jump off of walls, and slide on the ground. This is fun, but serves no real advantage to dispatching enemies, it's simply way more effective to shoot them. The game's AI is also fairly stupid, assuming the traditional "hide behind cover and pop out every X seconds" model. The problem is that the gameplay gets boring...quick. The seamless switching between shooting and melee is nice and well executed, but the guns offer no dynamic challenge, they're just like CoD...no recoil or spread, just boring all around. The melee is, while fun, almost useless later in the game and quickly becomes obsolete.

    The game has an upgrade system in which you gain XP with your individual Frame and weapons, advancing to the cap of level 30, leaving you with 30 mod points. These mods can do things such as decrease reload time, increase bullet damage, add elemental damage, and much more for the guns. And things such as health increases, shield increases, run speed increases, and much more for the Frames. The problem however is that due to the nature of the game, almost every mod besides the "essentials" is rendered not-usable or ineffective due to the limited number of mod slots per weapon/frame. This type of bottle-necking as it's called also occurs with the weapons themselves. If the weapon doesn't innately have Armor Pierce or Armor Ignore, then it's essentially useless in the long run due to the enemies ridiculous armor scaling (it scales to the point where you literally cannot damage the enemy at a certain point).

    The game is fun as a casual pick-up. It's not hard to master and once mastered, doesn't really serve up anything difficult or new. For a free game however, the dev's did a pretty great job steering clear of the "Play To Win" model of Free games, which is nice, and kudos to them for that. If you're bored with the usual upchuck that AAA titles offer, give Warframe a try, you can't go wrong with a non-P2W F2P game.    … Expand

    Warframe is worth trying out and it is "free to play" but if you actually like the gameplay and all that other stuff then you will end up spending money on it or wanting to spend money on it. i have been playing it off and on for over a year, im sure i have spent over 60$ on it by now but i got myself a warframe i like using and some weapons for it, now im just farming for stuff to mod theWarframe is worth trying out and it is "free to play" but if you actually like the gameplay and all that other stuff then you will end up spending money on it or wanting to spend money on it. i have been playing it off and on for over a year, im sure i have spent over 60$ on it by now but i got myself a warframe i like using and some weapons for it, now im just farming for stuff to mod the weapons so they can do more damage so i can do the level 30 stuff a lot easier and by myself. either way it is a great game, try it out just expect to spend money at some point on it because it makes the game far more enjoyable. its not a p2w thing because 95% of the game is helping out other people and doing things together with 5% of that fighting against others. so most, if not all of the time you are just spending money to get something(warframe and weapons) that you will have fun with and complete the harder missions a lot easier with. worth trying out and completely worth pay 60$ for. unlike some games i have paid 60$ for(thief/destiny) a good free to play game that you want to spend money on, not a bunch of cheap looking BS like most free to play games.… Expand

    Fun and addicting, with a great variety of weapons and warframes. The wait time for building stuff and RNG are the only real problems. The variety and complex units of this game makes it fun and engaging.

    Ninjas play free and in this case you ARE a ninja. The multiplayer feel is better when you know people because people aren't always taking your kills, and if you don't spend money your armour just feels out dated and weak. free game so it's worth a try.

    I don't usually play console games, I'm a PC gamer kind of guy but my computer can't run warframe on max settings on my laptop, but on the ps4 I can get the full graphics and the controls are nice, inky complaint is you have to buy platinum so i can't buy a sentinel or new guns but I'm learning to adjust

    I'm not a huge fan of in game purchases, but it doesn't make this any worse for having them. You might need to rely on those who do from time to time, but overall this is quite a fun game.     One of the few games that actually runs at the 60fps advertised by sony and the ps4, most of the others drop down to 20fps when their is action on the screen, I actually preferred playing blacklight on my pc, but on ps4 it's reversed, this game works flawlessly. Well done.

I was familiar with the game from steam and I had watched a few videos but after reading a couple of daunting reviews I decided it's not worth destroying my low capabilities laptop with a game that heavy to run.After saving up for about 5 months I finally picked up a PS4 and since there wasn't any money left for purchasing games I browsed through the Ps Store and stumbled upon Warframe. I was familiar with the game from steam and I had watched a few videos but after reading a couple of daunting reviews I decided it's not worth destroying my low capabilities laptop with a game that heavy to run.

    Since that wasn't an issue on the PS4 I decided I'd give it a go as there wasn't anything better to do, and I must say I am utterly and pleasantly surprised thus far. First of all it is my humble opinion that the developers have done a marvelous job with the character designs and the overall game aesthetics. I would dare say that so much 'badassery' and 'coolness' is rarely found. Futuristic ninjas (20 of them) so well designed that would make even the best of animations of every other game out there envy the looks of every single one of the warframes and each and every one of them customizeable to the point it becomes ridiculous. Other than appearance, the movement, poise, stance, attack animations and everything else there is regarding the overall image of the Tenno (that's how the warframes are called) is just 'icy' cool and amazing. Do a wall run, land, run, slide, pull out your bow, grab an arrow and aim it right to the enemy's head while still sliding... Yeah, that can happen. Bow yes, bows, swords, axes, hachets, knuckles, polearms, glaves, rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, smgs... Name it. It's available. All with amazing movesets that makes you enjoy beating enemies to a pulp or chopping them to pieces endlessly.

    Now concerning gameply, I'd say it could be smoother but that doesn't mean it's not fun. It's a stealth-hack and slass-shooter mash up that doesn't do any of those anywhere near perfect but then I can't really remember any other game that actually does. Having said that, I have actually found my self, depending on the mission, having tons of fun while either slashing away DMC style, shooting Mass Effect style, or stealth killing Splinter Cell style. Everything is there for you and the possibilities are endless if you have patience and know where to look. If you find yourself overwhelmed by paying users and do nothing than picking up drops on a mission you can always disable matchmaking and go solo, and that's where I've had the most fun; just doing things my way and on my pace. There are a lot of types of missions and bosses, and yes it can get a bit repetitive but when there is the option of playing a mission with 20 different warframes (characters) with unique sets of abilities, I think repetitiveness is not a problem you'll have to worry about early on. Concerning how much time it'll take to actually build(yes build, you don't have to buy them necessarily and I'll get to that later) all of the warframes, and level them up and enjoy them to their maximum capabilities I'd say you could be in it for a long long time. So trust me, duration is not an issue on this game as it plays as an MMO and can have you hooked for ages, especially if you DON'T pay to win.

    As you very well know the game is free to play, a fact that in most cases translates to a pay to win situation and that's what people are saying about warframe as well. First of all there's no wining involved... It's not a competitive multiplayer game, even though there is an option for that as well. It's mostly co-op and could be a lot of solo as well. So you can have your own fun without just blasting everything away one shot, which actually not that much fun in my opinion. Fun in gaming comes from challenge and this game is challenging for the non paying user and even encourages you to slowly nuild your way up through a long, fun and challenging experience. Almost everything is available for the non paying user if he/she has the patience to build them which requires the most simple of activities concerning gaming and that is actually playing through the game. Play the game long enough and you'll be highly rewarded. Now if that's not the mechanics all true gamers are looking for, I don't know what is.

    Anyway, I'm exceeding the word limit here so I'll just close it up and say that I bothered writing this review cause I've seen a lot of hate for this game and for no particular reason really. I think those who are being judgemental just haven't played it enough. If you love 3rd person shooters and ninjas as much as I do I urge to give this FREE TO PLAY game a try.    … Expand

Another thing is the market which is flooded with micro transactions, many things are locked from you and you either purchase them with actual cash or continue scrolling until you find something your interested in: it would be nice if you could categorize them differently by making stuff you can pay with actual money away from items you get for purchasing with in game currency. Graphics are pretty good (I don't know if areas will be more creative because I haven't put much time into it and am currently still on Earth). Either way this game should be played only by people with time to spare, lots of things you have to spend time on along with able to get through all the shenanigans that's blown into your face that you need time to figure out and get through.… Expand

    One of the best online games, not just fp2 games, this is better than destiny 1+2 combined and this is coming from a person who adores destiny 1, warframe gave me what destiny didn't, a deep game which encourages always trying new things with smooth gameplay with a world unlike others with good music and graphics, just download it, its free, if you don't like it no problem but just try it

    For a free game, Warframe is chock-full of interesting content and worth a play. However, I doubt it's a game that'll live very long in the memory of most people on account of it offering very few new ideas.

    i always enjoy playing this game, good action and physics, you feel like if you were actually shooting, it feels real to shoot with all weapons. if you dont want to pay for anything, it will take some time to obtain the items to craft the best weapons and warframes, but still its a good game to play in any time and will make you spend a lot of hours in every login.

    Had a rough start from the first release. Confusing builds and controls that weren't really explained well so I took a long break from this game. Decided to pick it back up a few years later and was blown away how much has changed. With all the new additions to the game its hard to judge the game on what it was vs now. But eventually, I got better at the game and started enjoying it. To me, Warframe is without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played.
    It certainly has its issues but the developers are constantly ironing the issues and add new things to the game. I didn't know how much the game had impacted my life until a few months ago. So during the past year, some riots arose in my country (Iran) and the government cut off the internet. Since Warframe doesn't work without the internet, I was forced to play Call Of Duty WW2 which was such a painful experience for me. Even though COD is a AAA game, it was a boring experience for me, one I had to rush through so I could delete it for good from my PS4.
    The thing I like about this game is that there is always something to do. Always weapons, Warframes,
    to build and max rank, try out different things. The game never ends and there are always goals to achieve. Another great thing about Warframe is the team behind it, who do weekly streams and are sp kind and funny that urge me to watch their streams every week.
    So overall, the game is great, the developers are amazing and I certainly recommend this game to everyone.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the game is very addictive that even spent 2 weeks without taking his eyes off. But there is a flip side to the coin. The first is a bug. Of course a lot of content pours, but a lot of bugs. The second little quests. Yes, 25 of them but some boring-type run on this planet, kill this... And yet the game is worth attention. (and you may not want to rebuild at all in this game as currency for the money it is possible to trade that game very well)… Expand

    The user interface for a new player is not very good. Being a new player, I was easily lost in the game and lost interest in real life. but the controls felt fun but Destiny 2 was better.

Но то что она не давалась так же многим это факт . Сейчас в игре есть то что не могут сделать крупные студии !     One year from now, Warframe will be a distant memory, almost completely forgotten. It's one of those games that just doesn't leave a clear mark. Then again, it does offer violence with swords, and it does it for free. What's the worst that could happen?
