Vaccine gives a good initial impression for fans of old school survival horror, but a bad first impression gameplay-wise. Stick with it enough to achieve a good run and you might just see the appeal, but it will depend entirely on luck rather than skill.

Vaccine is shit, but it does say its own name in a creepy deep voice when you start it, which is the single thing it has over Resident Evil 7.

I can only remove a point because there are no save points, but I'm missing the point because that's my fault for getting soft over the lastI can only remove a point because there are no save points, but I'm missing the point because that's my fault for getting soft over the last couple of decades. I've completed plenty of NES, SNES etc games without any saves in the past but the modern consoles have spoiled me and made me WEAK!
This game has a nice touch with the each spawn being a new map, so almost like a new game every time. It's properly challenging (as in the bad guys are hard to kill and stuff is hard to find) but also because it doesnt hold your hand and explain every little thing you need to do. You need to invest time to figure out which parts to upgrade, what technique to use to kill with which weapons. and then a time limit on top too? damn.
As a retor fan and one who isn't afraid of a challenge, then this is a must have.
