Another solid entry from Naughty Dog, even without Nathan Drake. Everything is high quality and cinematic. Visuals are beautiful. Character movement is fluid and lifelike from facial expressions to overall movement. Controls are intuitive. Voice acting is simply the best, and the story is decent if somewhat simplistic. The campaign is not that long, but worth every penny.

If you're looking for a shooter, you should probably look elsewhere. While the combat mechanics are just fine, this is a game about story and puzzles first. Guns and killing second. As with other Naughty Dog entries, this is essentially an action movie, complete with set pieces and staged sequences that are stellar. But if you're not interested in narrative, dialogue and feeling like you're in a film, go play Call of Duty or whatever.

Comparisons to Lara Croft are inevitable and only prove that there are too few video game protagonists that are strong female leads. I would argue that the new Tomb Raider games borrow more from Uncharted than the flip. But it's hard for any game not to have elements of others without completely reinventing the controls and gameplay rulebook. An appearance by Sam Drake later in the game adds the only real male element other than the bad guys, and he's really not at all necessary to the plot.

    Highly recommended.

Proves that the Uncharted series has viability beyond Nathan Drake. The best puzzles in the series yet, some great combat encounters that feel fresh, and interesting use of "Semi-open world" in some sections which I think fits neatly in the franchise. I know they're focusing on The Last of Us II now (and oh boy, I can't wait) but I hope this isn't the last thing Naughty Dog ever do with Uncharted.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is my favorite game in the series. Everything just clicked for me. Not having Nathan Drake was a little weird at first, but I got used to Chloe real fast. The gameplay is ridiculously fun, and the story has some nice twists. A great spinoff that all fans should experience.

In actuality, the characters really come into their own in this game. The adventure has a lot of classic Uncharted moments, if a bit dragged down by a little too much Call of Duty action.

For starters, I am a big fan of standalone DLC. Games need not be so bloated. Short games like this are a good reminder of that. My playthrough was almost 6 hours, and I mean that as a compliment.

For finishers, the essential guts of Uncharted are there. The characters have their little jokes and asides, the game has lots of climbing and puzzle solving, and you get to gun down dozens of men (they were all bad).

My one nitpick is the how the fights go. Enemies pop up in all sorts of places. Some wear heavy armor (in a jungle?) and some have laser sighted sniper rifles. You even have a few vehicles to take down. Levels needed a little more attention to stealth and less attention to emptying magazines into enemy after enemy. The last chapter of the game has redeeming qualities, combining the best of the driving, climbing, and train segments of the Uncharted Franchise.

All in all, this is a quality adventure to make you free time more enjoyable. Full disclosure, I downloaded this via PlayStation Plus twice, once as the PS4 version on the old PS+ and once as the enhanced PS5 version on PS+ extra.

Uncharted The Lost Legacy has everything that all Uncharted games must have, and then some more. The new characters are a welcome adition, it's good to have some diversity on video games (Naughty Dog excels at that). The game is gorgeous, and fun as hell, it's not very long, but for its price it provides almost 12 hours of gameplay, which is very similar to most games.

The only negative comment that I have is that the game is very similar to the rest of the Uncharted games, as well as the Tomb Raider ones. However, I love all of these games, so that's fine by me.

If you like Uncharted and Tomb Raider, you should definitely play this game.

I really enjoyed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Although I was a bit concerned that the game would just be a quick cash-grab, it feels like an actual fleshed out game. It is able to build off of the character stories from the main Uncharted series and feels wholly complete in its own right. The two female leads have a great dynamic and aren't just a rehash of Nathan and Sully 2.0.

The game is said to start as a DLC to Uncharted 4 and at many points during the game, it feels like that.
The story seems to be more personal and at a lot smaller scale. It is a small step back comparing to Uncharted 4. But it is a very small step as Lost Legacy is still an amazing game.
Everything you liked about the previous games is here. Cloe is a great main character in the game.

Everything you liked about the previous games is here. Cloe is a great main character in the game. She is almost the same adventurous and talkative type of person as Nathan in the previous installments. Nadine even makes a joke about that at some point.
The game takes place in India and it makes heavy use of this country's beautiful landscapes, history, and culture. And one thing that is done so much better than in any previous game are the puzzles. Indian temples in this game are full of deadly traps and puzzles. Lost Legacy feels more "Tomb Raider" than modern Tomb Raider games.
The gameplay stayed pretty much untouched. The developers tried to open up the game world even a little more than in Thief's End, but it didn't turn out so well as the game is much shorter and does not need so long break from the action.
Nevertheless, Uncharted: Lost Legacy is another great Uncharted game and I believe that its main problem is that it was released so soon after Uncharted 4. The bar was just too high.

I had my doubts reading reviews talking about the new leads being able to carry the torch from here if wanted, but Chloe and company proved themselves worthy. I had my doubts about this shorter, more iterative expansion being worth the potential $40 price tag, but in the end I came away with a wide grin, feeling it's worth every penny. Well done, Naughty Dog. Even your side projects stand above the crowd.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Naughty Dog brings us a lengthy DLC, from the Uncharted series featuring a story following the events of Uncharted 4 with Chloe and Nadine. You take control of Chloe in this case; as she is on the hunt for the Tusk of Ganesh, and tries to beat a war lord by the name of Asav. Who is in the middle of a war himself. The lost legacy takes place in India, which is great because it is a new location. But 90% of it takes place in a jungle like all of the other Uncharted games (a change of scenery would be nice in this series).

In the beginning of the game, we see the characters struggle to trust each other and work together. As the story continues we find out a little bit more about the history of the characters. Especially Chloe, and who her father was. Come to find out she is finishing what her father began. Nadine's story is a bit different and is satisfying to find out what has happened to her and shoreline, and how she acquired the organization. The characters seem to get closer as the story progresses with some minor bumps along the way.
Lost Legacy is a great expansion of the series and I hope to see a full triple A title featuring these two characters in the future.

This game originally was meant to be DLC for Uncharted 4 but as Naughty Dog was having so much fun with the DLC that it made more sense for it to become a stand-alone game rather than DLC. It’s not a full priced game and in my opinion, I absolutely think its worth the $40. Of course, as I said. It’s hard for me to stay biased because it’s Uncharted and I just love this franchise.

In the Lost Legacy, it doesn’t have franchise icon Nathan Drake which is a bold move. Nathan Drake is definitely one of the major faces of PlayStation and his face alone sells games. It’s kind of like Nintendo making A Legend of Zelda game but without Link.

Instead of the game being about Nathan Drake, The Lost Legacy is about Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. Some people were very excited about Chloe, I was never that excited about the game having her as the protagonist. It’s not that I didn’t like her, I always felt like Elena was the better fit for Nathan Drake.

Even though in Uncharted 4, Nadine was necessarily on the “good” side. I still liked her as a character. Any character that has the ability to take on both Drake brothers (Nathan and Sam) and win easily. She is a certifiable bad ass.

So the two set out on an adventure across India to find an Ancient Indian artifact. The premise and the story are all very Uncharted-like. There is character development with Chloe, Nadine, and their relationship together. The two start out, not really liking one another but as the game progresses you really see that relationship grow.

I’m not going to spoil, the games big reveal but there is a surprise character that’s brought back from the previous games. I really ended up liking this character a lot more, Naughty Dog did a great job of making this prior character much more likable. Plus they really provide some great comic relief. It’s not necessarily, hilarious but it has that Marvel Cinematic Universe humor. Its action packed experience with a little bit of humor sprinkled in.

For personally, this was a must buy. I really enjoyed my time with the game and really my only complaint is that it’s too short. I know a lot of people will disagree with me and they’re happy with the length.

Technically speaking, this is an upgrade from UC4, the graphics are just abit crisper, the gameplay is further refined with a photo mode and I feel like melee combat was a bit better, but it's 95+% the same. The greatest change, and best change, made was in the middle of the game there's a pseudo open-world section, wherein instead of the linear path like most Uncharted chapters, you have the option of where to go next and side mini-ruins you can explore. I wouldn't want the entire game like it, but it was fun.

Storywise, it's a bit weaker. It's shorter than any main Uncharted, and as a side game it can't rely on the rich backstory of UC1-4. Not that it's bad, but Chloe and Nadine never leant themselves to be endearing to the player in past games, and now we're forced to sympathize and care for them more. It does accomplish this, but I care more about Nathan's story and history, it being deeper and having far more to it.

That being said, Lost Legacy is certainly worth playing by any Uncharted fan. It's fairly short, a fun game, and who doesn't want more Uncharted?

Still, I think that the game should’ve played it a little less safe, as a lot of times I felt like I was replaying a lot of the big scenes that made previous installments more memorable. I also think that if you were one of the people turned away by Uncharted 4’s more cinematic nature that this spin-off might not be in your wheelhouse. Graphically, Lost Legacy looks even more gorgeous than part 4. It also has tougher puzzles and adds a phone camera, locked boxes and a silenced pistol. However, the biggest addition is an open-world chapter that contains various scattered coins. If you find them all, you unlock a bracelet that chimes when you're near a hidden treasure chest. Lost Legacy may not last long, but it's terrific. I would rate this with a 9 out of 10.

Uncharted The lost legacy is a standalone DLC for Uncharted 4, and is the first game in the franchise that doesn’t have you playing has Nathan Drake. This time around you play as Chloe Frazer, from Uncharted 2, who travels back to her homeland of India in search of the Tusk of Ganesha. She’s joined by Nadine Ross, who’s lost control of her paramilitary organisation ‘Shoreline’ after her run in with the Drake brothers, and needs the money to get it back. Together the two of them must find the tusk before Asav, an Indian warmonger whose selling Indian artefacts to fund his private army.
The gameplay is pretty much the same as Uncharted 4. When going into an area filled with enemies there are locations for you to hide and plan your attack. You can sneak around the area and stealthily take down your enemies. You can go in guns blazing, or you can do a combination of both. When you do get into a gunfight you’ve got a lot of weapons to choose from. Just like in the previous games, you pick up weapons from dead bad guys, and they include pistols, automatics, shotguns and explosives. In some areas you’ll find locked weapons boxes, which Chloe can open with her lock pick, containing new guns and explosives. Melee combat also feels smoother than before, as Chloe is a lot more agile than Nathan Drake.
The enemy AI is competent. I played the game on moderate difficulty, just to get through it quickly for this review. Even on this difficulty they will flank you, snipers are extremely accurate with their shot, and enemies will flush you out of cover with grenades and rpgs, with a little hand to hand combat thrown into the mix. However, there were a few occasions when I was sneaking through an area, and Nadine would come out of cover in plain sight, and not get noticed.
The game was optimised for the PS4 pro, but even though I was playing on a standard PS4 I could see the graphical improvements in certain parts of the game. A lot of detail went into creating every location, and you’ll find yourself taking pictures with Chloe’s camera phone often (which I’m sure is the developers way of getting you to stop and appreciate their hard work).
As with the previous games, The lost legacy’s biggest strength is its story telling. At first Chloe and Nadine don’t trust each other, but need to work together to get what they want. As you progress through the campaign, you’ll find out about both characters back story through cut scenes and conversations they have with each other. This was done through flashback missions in the previous games, so it was good to see that they found a new way of handling this in a shorter game. My only criticism is with the villain. Asav is a decent villain, who you’ll see switch to a complete nutter when you get into a fight with him, but my issue with him is he’s hardly in the game. He appears 3 or 4 times, including the final boss fight, which for me wasn’t enough. This is probably because I’m used to getting to know all the characters through a 20+ hour story in each of the previous games.

As always, playing the lost legacy feels like you’re starring in a movie. From the intense gunfights, to the action packed chase scenes, it feels like you’re staring in your own summer blockbuster. Playing has Chloe is fun, and feels a lot like Uncharted’s version of Lara Croft, but I was disappointed that I didn’t also get to play has Nadine. The puzzles felt a lot easier than in previous games, but I didn’t mind because it meant I could get back to the action much quicker. The multiplayer from Uncharted 4 is included, and although I’m not a fan of the multiplayer, it’s a nice bonus considering the game only costs £25. Unlike the previous games, I actually want to give it a replay and get all achievements, due to its 8 hour playtime not taking a big chunk out of my busy schedule. Hopefully we’ll see a sequel to this game where you get to play as Nadine, or maybe another side story starring Sam and Sully.

Despite the poor narrative, there is some fun to be had throughout the 9 or so hours it’ll take you to beat Lost Legacy. While it’s definitely not the globe-trotting adventure of a full, numbered Uncharted, this expansion has a few great moments of its own.

The Lost Legacy is a great, breathtakingly beautiful action adventure game and its only substantial weakness is that it fails to reach the stellar level of A Thief’s End while heavily relying on old tricks. [11/2017, p.60]

The Lost Legacy is not as great as a real new part in the Uncharted series, but as an insanely expansive stand-alone DLC it's more than successful. We will always miss Nathan Drak, but hopefully Uncharted will continue in this form for a long, long time.
