I love this game. I'm not a flight simulator person and I feel this game is the perfect balance between arcade & simulator. I put on a movie score Spotify playlist and have a great time doing the missions and games. It's the most relaxing VR game I have and a great way to chill at the end of the day.

Ultrawings is the game I was waiting for since I bought my beloved PSVR: I really, really wanted to fly, something long-awaited Ubisoft's Eagle Flight failed to deliver... I mean, being forced to see Paris through a mask of feathers was a big immersion breaker to me. I mean, being forced to see Paris through a mask of feathers was a big immersion breaker to me. A few nights ago, during my usual shuffling around the PS Store, I came across what at first looked like good old Nintendo's Pilotwings: a cartoonish-styled flying game, with a strong focus on playability, simple, but not simplistic caught my attention. I was even more interested when I checked the price: for around 20 euros (I'm Italian) it's one of the most expensive purchases I made for my PSVR (there are so many excellent and cheap games out there right now), but come on, video games used to be so much more expensive back in the Eighties! Ladies and gentlemen, with Ultrawings VR you're really getting what you're paying for, and some more. If you're expecting a realistic flying simulator with real-life like graphics or real plane models look elsewhere, or wait for Ace Combat 7 - but don't be fooled, this ain't an arcade game, either. The physics are so great you'll almost feel the wind blowing on your face; try to stand, and you'll likely lose your balance; crash into a rock, and you're gonna have a hard time trying to keep your eyes open. There are three planes to choose from, and they all feel so different it's hard to pick one, and even though the world is reduced to just a bunch of small, blocky islands, the sensation of freedom delivered when piloting one of them is simply impossible to describe with words. Well, those who are lucky enough to have flown on or piloted a glider know what I'm talking about... I guess, because I've never been on one of those things in the real world myself, but that's exactly how I would imagine them to work. After a few minutes spent fiddling with my PS moves (which I highly recommend), everything went on smoothly, or so to speak: flying is challenging, and so is the game, that manages to surprise by lasting some good 15-20 hours. It is true, the missions and the worlds aren't that diverse, and technically speaking some may accuse the graphics of being excessively minimalistic. I do not agree. The simple task of taking off never ceases to amaze me, and it all feels so fluid and natural and fun who cares about the complete lack of people or the Lego-looking cliffs. Missions have also been criticised for being repetitive: flying through score rings, popping balloons, taking pictures, buying offices on different islands and so on sounds so Nineties, but again, you won't be picking up this game because of the missions, or better, not just because of them: you'll be wanting to wear your magic VR helmet only to enjoy the illusion of being airborne in your sitting-room. Maybe in a few years we'll look back at this game with a sardonic grin: all of us VR enthusiasts know something much, much better is behind the corner. But right know, if you're happy playing wearing that amazing chunk of plastic called Playstation VR, it doesn't get much better than Ultrawings VR as far as flying is concerned. Good work, Bit Planet Games. Expand

For $24.99 the game needs to have better graphics/visuals and more content. Its fun but the controls are kind of clunky. I have to stand half way up push recenter and play in a weird position so I can reach all of the planes controls. Hopefully they fix these issues but its still a fun game. Expand

One of the best games on my PSVR. Very sad to see only one review here...This game alone made my PSVR purchase worth it. The sensation of flight is very real, great controls and fun gameplay. Huge in content as well. Easily 20-30 hours of gameplay makes it one of the most extensive games on VR. Don't listen to this other user review here, he clearly hasn't played much of it.

Super boring. The whole game feels like slow motion. Graphics are underwhelming and the gameplay and mission types are as uninnovative as they can be. Menus lack style. Also nobody tells you, you have to fly to another island and land there to unlock a new island. Deleted it after failing for 4 hours to like it. There are so many better games for VR. Ah, yes, load times are good!

I've never really been a big fan of Pilotwings or the flight sim genre, but I really think Ultrawings VR is up there with Job Simulator as one of the essential PSVR games to demo for friends & family who might not be big gamers. Unlike Job Simulator (or most other VR titles), however, Ultrawings VR will keep you busy for dozens of hours. Yes, there are only a handful of small islands in the game's open world and only a handful of different mission types that repeat over and over, but the different aircraft all feel unique and with two move controllers the act of flying itself is so immersive and satisfying (ntm oddly relaxing) that even when I find myself having to repeat a difficult mission over and over, taking off for another attempt always feels exciting (it also helps that load times are minimal). . Honestly, it kinda makes me sad I can't play for more than two hours before mild nausea forces me to quit. Really hope there is an Ultrawings 2 that expands on the incredible promise of this game, with greater mission variety, a larger world, and more detailed graphics... but in the meanwhile all PSVR owners would do well to check out Ultrawings VR. Possibly one of the most underated simulation games in vr. Absolutely amazing sensation piloting your own ultra-light OR rocket propelled glider OR single engine plane or stunt plane in virtual reality. Not to be missed.

The balloon popping sub-game isn’t up to much, but the rest of Ultrawings is a dream come true for fans of Nintendo’s charming slice of amateur aviation.

Ultrawings offers players a chance to fly in VR. It achieves that but although there are a lot of individual jobs to take on it doesn't give you much variety as you fly around a rather simple set of islands. Using two Move controllers things feel great it's just a shame there isn't a little more to it.
