Torquel is a 2d puzzle platformer with each staging tasking the player with traversing a level full of obstacle to reach the goal at the end of the level. To do so the player rolls the box in which their character is found. Pressing any of the face buttons causes the corresponding side to lengthen and this can be used to reach higher platforms, clear obstacles etc.

    In all honesty

In all honesty Torquel isn’t a very good game. The controls are very imprecise and proceedings very quickly become frustrating rather than challenging. This isn’t helped by the fact that it takes around 5 seconds for the game to reset when you die, and when you die as often as you will in this game that’s far too long. This is one to give a miss.

graphics are okay, the way the game sounds is okay, but the gameplay is mediocre at best, and there is not a lot of depth to the game, and becomes really boring after a while, and the time between dying( since you do it a lot) and restarting is just plain frustrating.

The time between dying and restarting is far too long and the game is a little short on content, but despite these issues, I found TorqueL’s incredibly unique puzzle-platforming incredibly addictive.

There's an endearing independent spirit to TorqueL which will make you want to see it succeed, but the title turns out to be a bit of a one-trick pony with a handful of frustrations to boot. A quick restart button and a better control scheme could have improved the game dramatically, while a fairer price point would have made it easier to recommend.
