I don't understand the initial review bombing. The map is large, with many missions and additional content. It's perfect for a cooperative game with 3 more friends (4 in total) . We had more than 300 hundreds hours of fun !

Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a little bit of everything; PC (built by me), Xbox, Playstation, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (8) Very Good.
Innovative, but perhaps not the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so.

    (-1) Microtransactions
There are microtransactions in the game. It's not as invasive as other games but any microtransactions in a game is a bad thing. This game does feel grindy which is probably on purpose to get someone to use microtransactions. They are avoidable though.

    (-1) Always Online
Not everyone in the world has internet and forces some people to miss out on a game that they would otherwise play. Not really a reason for it since it's not known to be a competitive multiplayer game.

I enjoyed my time with the game especially after a year passed by and they added more options to the game like AI teammates, option to turn off drones, and hardcore mode which made it more appealing to me. Has an average story but good enough to keep you interested. The best part of the game is just observing outposts and trying to figure out what is the best way to get through it stealthy.

Breakpoint makes me wish this was Wildlands 2. The world of Auroa is unoriginal and bland, and it's empty 63% of the time. The only people that drive cars in this game are the enemy AI, despite civilians being in the game. Speaking of the enemy AI, it's stupid beyond belief. They tend to react to nothing, and it's easy to wipe out a full base without serious consequences. Squads areBreakpoint makes me wish this was Wildlands 2. Squads are half-assed, the story is hot garbage, and one I can't get invested in. Characters you can't connect with, god-awful voice acting, and after completing a mission, you feel you never made a difference. Unlike in Wildlands, where completing a missing gets you one step closer to defeating the boss of that certain region. Cutscenes are terrible to look at, they all look like plastic when they speak. However, the gameplay is nice, gunplay feels quite fluid, and some animations look nice. Not all though. Graphics are better, and they've added survival mechanics, but it's whether you like it or not. I don't. So, I disabled it. And it's important to mention that none of the regular immersive features existed at launch.

The game has adapted some sort of hub area to hang out in, which strays from a normal Ghost Recon game. You can still find guns around the map, but you can also buy them from the shop of Erewhon, they hub area. Ther's even, you know. MICROtransactions. The game uses this currency system called Skel Credits that you can find around the world. If you don't want to traverse the incredibly boring, bland, unoriginal, stupidly narrow "open" world, you can always buy the guns from the shop. Skel Credits are also used to buy certain clothing items, refill your items gear, and buy vehicle skins. But please, REFRAIN from buying ANY vehicle skin in the game. The only vehicles you'll be using is either helicopters, dirt bikes, or fast travel. Because the world is so narrow, attempting to drive any other car than the ones I listed up there is hellishly tough. There's nothing to see or do in Auroa anyway, and all the best landmarks in the game are not interactable. Missions don't add any incentive to complete them, unlike Wildlands, when you took down a cartel boss you'd get a crap-ton of skill points or even a unique weapon you couldn't find anywhere else.

At launch, you didn't have a Ghost team, which turned of a lot of people from playing the game. Later, they did add a squad, and the end result is pretty bad. See, in Wildlands, your squad was calm, cool, and collected. They'd banter which each other for a few seconds, whether you entered a new province or after a briefing from Bowman. In Breakpoint. your squad of characters are forgettable. They never talk with you. NEVER. Not one conversation can be struck up with them, and I only use them as help for clearing bases, whereas in Wildlands, I kept my squad active to dress them up in serious or sometimes silly outfits, and just have them walk around with me in the beautiful world of Bolivia. The only time your squad in Breakpoint ever talks is either when they complement you on getting a headshot, marking an enemy, or using their abilities. I don't change their outfits much, and usually only change the weapons they carry.

Like said before, the world of Auroa is horrendous to look at and explore. Second worst map since Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet's world. I'm not incentivized to explore, find guns, gear, clothing, skill points, or even enemy bases, something I did a lot in Wildlands. Civilians exist, but they always ask, "What are you doing here?" or "Please don't hurt me!" Then I shoot them for fun. The civilians don't drive, ever, and you tend to wonder why they even bothered adding regular cars in the world, half of which you can't even drive. You can't holster your weapon like Wildlands. It's LITERALLY the definition of one of the "worst open world games ever".

Story is ass. I would review for you, but I haven't completed it yet, and probably never will. But so far, characters are horribly designed, voice acting is -10/10, and character development is just non-existent. Enemy variety is the same as Wildlands, though, as you can guess by now, Wildlands had better enemy variety. First is Sentinel. Much like the cartel, Sentinel are the main enemies you fight throughout the game. Their AI is stupid, but they banter with one another, a lot more I can say for my own damn squad. They don't have many tools to their disposal, and you can stealth a whole base of Sentinel enemies and not get caught. If you do get caught, there aren't any consequences. The next is Wolves, and much similar to Unidad in Wildlands, they are the greater threat. But the Wolves are as easy to defeat as Sentinel. They LITERALLY offer no new challenge. They have more drones, but that's about it. Yeah, I hated going up against the Unidad in Wildlands, and sometimes tried avoiding missions that included them, but at least they differentiated from the cartel.

Breakpoint is just bad. Simple as that.

Episode 2 and 3 feel a little unnecessary and i wish they just combined the best elements of all 3 and made one great expansive campaign but it's still really fun just because of the great gameplay loop. Alot of the initial issues at release have been fixed and so much has been added that its almost an entirely new game.
Division?

I bought the game in December 2020 on PS4 and honestly I rarely had so much fun in collaborative multiplayer mode to do the campaign!
The game is now very good since 18 months and it offers an open world, beautiful, with a multitude of approaches (infiltration? Parachute jump from helicopter? approach by boat? Capture an armored jeep with a Gatling gun for a frontal assault?), the possibility to customize your equipment, your outfit. The scenario is quite good and above all there are many missions that leave a lasting memory (ah! the infiltration of the fortress of Flycatcher!)

I can only recommend this game to a group of 4 friends who want a game with $15, full of possibilities, missions, and with such a choice of weapons/holdings/equipment that there is no need for micro-transactions (those are much less present than many games: Fifa & co). A big yes for this great game that deserves much better than 56 !

Edit: The game has been updated today that let’s the player customise aspects of the gameplay for example the Immersive Mode and an option to completely customise gameplay and HUD features. I have added +1 score point to take my rating up to a 4/10.

Breakpoint is a fun game if you enjoy collecting the weapons (real world weapons with authentic sounds) and customising the weapons with attachments. I am currently playing the game solo on the easiest difficulty because the missions are designed to be completed with a co-op squad of four. I plan on joining other players games and playing on the higher difficulty once I have completed the story missions alone.

I am one of those gamers who enjoyed Wildlands and got the Platinum trophy while still having a good time. If you liked Wildlands and want more of the same than you should like this.

Edit: After finishing all of the Main Story Missions that are available I have noticed that 50% of the story missions are Locked Out as Paid DLC. Bulls***. And those story missions I played were very boring compared to Wildlands.

I have changed my score from 6 to 4.

This game does a lot to improve on the variety of game play form wildlands but also does a lot to complicate it. The RPG elements and looter shooter aspects of the game are not for everyone, but have certainly kept me engaged chasing gear levels and guns. very very bad compared to GR Wild Lands. so glitchy and can't be saved by developers no matter what they do or add. Not recommended at all and if you think you can live the same experience of Wild Lands then you're wrong.

If you want to cheat it is there that will make the game not fun trust me I grew up during the time period of game genie. So overall it has lots of potential if Ubisoft can be innovative enough to expand the gameplay a little so if you want my thoughts on how it plays just think Destiny/Wildlands/ with a little Division influence I think Ubisoft should have waited until next year to fix some minor bugs but I see the game as a potential to be a Destiny like game if Ubisoft would take the time and market it like that for long term development and get rid of the microtransactions that affect the PVP. The worst part (if compared with wildlands), is the storytelling...after all, its a good game with tons of issues but its cool

Es el jugo mas realista que existe respecto a su género, un obra de arte en todo sentido, obviamente tendra un que otro bug, pero bueno, que se puede esperar de gente que solo se dedica a criticar y no de disfrutar juegos como se solía hacer en los años 2.000

And that's actually the point right? As far as third person stealth shooters go, hard to find a better one than Breakpoint. The game had a lot of issues at launch as do a lot of games these days, but Ubisoft really has done a excellent job making updates and adjusting a lot of features in the game to make it more like GR: Wildlands and even better, which is what most people wanted. If you saw a review shortly after launch that probably gave this an average or below average review, just know it's a significantly improved game in almost every way since then.

The closest comparison to this game strictly in terms of gameplay, would probably be Phantom Pain, if you never played Wildlands. Obviously, this is not an opinion many have but Breakpoint is EASILY better than Phantom Pain. Again, not something most people would say, however Breakpoint just gives you far more freedom, both in exploration, customization - both character and weapons, and how to play each mission itself. However, if you're coming to this game for story, not really going to find it here. It's basically kind of a rip off of the plot of Captain America Winter Soldier... but gameplay is what makes the game.

Ultimately, this game is somewhat repetitive. However, most video games are repetitive based on whatever type of game it is, doesn't necessarily mean it's not a good game and missions are fun to play through. Microtransactions are another issue people really hated, however there really is nothing in the game you ever need to purchase with real money, 90% of the things in the game can be found in the game world. You just also can spend money to get them faster, this shouldn't really matter for most people. The game does require you to always be online and have an internet connection. This may be an issue for some, it really isn't great they made it like this since its definitely not needed for single player at all. However, if you have a decent enough internet connection, it shouldn't be an issue. I rarely ever got kicked off the server, it never effected my enjoyment of the game.

The game is really fun and you can customize your entire experience in the game. There are four difficulty settings and you can completely customize the HUD you see on the screen, including nothing at all, making it a very cinematic immersive experience. So you can make it unforgiving if you're spotted by enemies, requiring you to go completely silent, or you can make the game allow you to go loud and get into fire fights. the experience can be tailored to however you prefer to play and attack the objectives.

Ultimately, this game was heavily criticized since it was launched and got pretty bad reviews. However, it's been really improved since then. You may not enjoy it as much as I did, but if the game looked cool and intrigued you when it came out, but the negative reviews made you afraid to try it, I would say you'll almost definitely like it now, especially given it's pretty cheap anywhere you find it.

As such, the sweeping changes made in recent updates are partially lost upon me, but I immediately disabled looter-shooter nonsense like gear score, enabled "darkest night," and tweaked several of the overwhelming number of options available to customize the player experience. The apparently late addition of optional AI teammates in solo play is appreciated, but these generic bots are little more than an extra piece of gear for sync shots and fire support. This sequel to Wildlands feels much more like a sizeable expansion than anything truly new, but in spite of its rampant bugs, hilarious glitches/inconsistencies, and horrendously stupid AI, there is quite a bit of fun to be had--especially in cooperative mode. Most people do not play tactical shooters for their storylines, so the derivative plot(s) in Breakpoint shouldn't be too disappointing. In all fairness, this game's confused mishmash of themes is a huge improvement over the original's cocktail of blind patriotism and cultural appropriation--but don't expect anything memorable or logical.

Gunplay and traversal are a mixed bag, but usually remain solid enough to support most tactics and improvisation with minimal interference.

With gear score off, it is incredibly obvious that this "immersive" mode was tacked-on after release, because the clunky upgrade and crafting mechanics make little sense. Tips and tutorials often refer to elements that are only present in the original mode. Most NPCs and cutscenes also tend to refer to my female Nomad as "he" or "him," so Ubi seems to assume that players will stick closely to the bearded testicle in all of the loading screens. Personally, I simply pretend that my Nomad is gender-fluid and cares even less about these design flubs than myself.

The various islands and provinces of the fictional South Pacific land of Auroa are home to some impressive vistas and biomes. Realistic weather and the time of day are visually dynamic, but have only limited effects on the general flow of the game. The survival elements hyped in the trailers are unfortunately mostly absent outside of dressing wounds and drinking from your canteen to refill a stamina bar. Oh well.

Yes, microtransactions are a thing, but they can be safely ignored as most consist of typical cosmetic options and lazy-gamer shortcuts. Ultimately, Breakpoint can be good fun as a co-op tactical sandbox with a vast multitude of options to live out your spec-ops fantasies--as long as you ignore the persistent technical issues and entirely mediocre design. Definitely worth the $15 that I paid to play it--just keep your expectations low.

    Oh Hell no!
This game had everything to succeed. The energy with the wolves and ghosts was great! The Trailers got me hyped up about the game! When I played it in the beta, I immediately noticed that the world felt empty. After Wildlands, which was filled with unique locations and many NPCs. Auroa feels empty. It looks great from the air, sure and it even looks better than Wildlands.

Auroa was a great Opportunity to create an interesting world with many NPCs, but Ubisoft did not use this golden opportunity.
The Story is boring, hell there is no story! The coolest thing about the Story is the Villain, our former brother, Cole D Walker and Jon Bernthal does a fantastic job playing him.
The Enemy AI, its pathetic!! The Enemies take magazines to their chest and only need one headshot. The Loot, Inventory System is awful and not motivating! If you want to do a good looter shooter game at least give us something we should grind for and be motivated for! Instead, we have to grind to slightly increase the level of our Armor.
And, the store is absolutely filled with Microtransactions no one needs! They implemented many elements from AC and other games to Ghost Recon, and it does not work like this!

The Verdict for Tom Clancys Ghost Division Odyssey Breakpoint is a 2/10! Ubisoft, please fix it.

It's one big cash grab from the moment you start you go to another one of these cod ww2 like hubs where you can stand around watching other people stand around opening loot boxes or whatever the hell their doing . Not to mention the hud is a total disaster with all it's pop ups and information tabs and objective tabs constantly making you feel like you're being handheld thru the game . Then if you wanna turn this off you have to traverse the sub menus to get more sub menus of the real menus and so on and so forth making it already unesscarily frustrating . And their big selling point was that now in this installment you can burn thru gates with a torch and cover you're self in dirt which I will add were cool features until you have to circumnavigate the whole complex of an enemy base just to find one gate that actually allows you to cut through it and open it up . The worst part of the game for me though and was a total turn off was the same ol same ol division like rpg looter shooter nonsense of picking up more weapons with gear levels and all this **** you don't care about . So instead of making the game with success like wildlands their stubbornly decided to suffocate the game with the modern gaming industries cancer which is you guessed it more microtransactions and timesink mechanics to say hay you bought our game now for a pretty penny you don't like it now too bad go **** you're self . So after that stunt I decided I won't be buying one more single Ubisoft game ever again and I encourage others to do the same. Expand

Since the fixes, incorporated AI squads and overall bug and glitch fixes I am optimistic this game will move closer to the mark of Wildlands FINALLY. There are still some decisive mechanics geared towards micro-transactions but I am moving my review from a 2 to a 6.

    PREVIOUS REVIEW:
Alright here is the deal with Breakpoint... I had great expectations after Wildlands. The mechanics, the game play, the story, and the open world simulator were great.

Now on to Breakpoint... So they cast the Punisher actor as the main villain. He does a great but limited job. The story is a bit wonky compared to Wildlands but honestly if you are playing this for an in depth story... this is the wrong game for you.

The controls are clunky, no smooth transitions over obstacles, hiccups in controller actions, and delays/lag constantly when transitioning which cause disadvantages in game play. Wildlands did not have this issue.

Micro-transactions you say? Heck yes this game has it. Every aspect from upgrading weapons, blueprints, cammo patterns, face-paint, tattoos, skins, etc... every single aspect of this game is micro-transactioned like crazy. Did you like the sync shot mechanic from Wildlands? Well guess what, now you have drones that will do that for you, but guess what!?! You've got to buy them. Like playing expansion content? Want to be able to kill the terminators in the expansion mission? Well you have to buy it, then you have to pay for a weapon that is the ONLY weapon that can kill a terminator.

No team members, no team member customization like in Wildlands. It's like they took all the concepts that were applauded in Wildlands and decided they wanted to monetize them.

Ubisoft is going a pay to play, pay to win dynamic and it sucks because this franchise was getting good. Fix it.

But that's all for the good parts. There is the rest. Glitches everywhere, you have to loot at all time, so no need to customize your weapons, you'll change after killing just 2 enemies. You have to change weapons, equipment, everything, all the time, and it gives the game a bad rhythm. Shooting, menu, change your gear, shooting, changing gear again. Add to this microtransactions in the game, the fact that you have to stay online all the game, even when playing solo. THe open world is also not very interesting, and after a few hours, you'll just take a chopper to go to the new mission, or fast travel when possible. The driving is awful by the way, car or chopper, same. And they wanted to add a survival aspect, and it's ridiculous and not interesting, not one bit.

U want o change ur class, u can't do it in the Menu u have to go somewhere to do that, u want to choose a new quest, here u have a Menu that is basically a Map, why is it not a simple drop down Menu, why are they making everything so complicated, again it feels like ubisoft thought that design decision like that would make it more realistic but they are just stupid.

Breakpoint is a bad Game and they want 60$ for it, that's just stupid, I got it for 10 andI still feels like I paid a lot for this unfinished Product that probably will nver be as good as Ubisoft said it would be in the beginning

DONT BUY! I was fool enough to ignore the bad reviews considering if I loved WILDLANDS I would love this on as well. No. I didn't. I couldn't finish half of it. It's AWFULL, boring and lame. Is not worth $1.

Felt like I had to show some love for this game. I know it got a lot of criticism early on. I started playing post- "immersive mode" update which drops the loot shooter aspect of the game and honestly I really enjoy it. Stealth is actually required (unlike Wildlands) or you get swamped. AI isn't the greatest, but hey, you can always turn up the difficulty.
    Pretty awesome open-world

Pretty awesome open-world setting to explore. Never felt like I was wandering aimlessly, there is always some objective to pursue. I like that you can play the game solo or in coop with friends. Ubi also injected the game with TONS of options in the settings menu so you can basically customize the game until it feels like the game that you want to play (including difficulty, how many weapons you carry, injury resistance, stamina regeneration, on and on...)
Overall, solid stuff here IF you ignore the loot-shooting and just want to play a tactical shooter.

The only good thing about this game for me was the quantity of equipment, gear, camo and weapon mods. The whole point is that your gearing up and collecting intel to go after the main bad guy, who you can go after at any point and is such an anticlimax. A badly made game not worth time or money. The March 2020 update has finally taken away the loot system. Still to fix the terrible menu structure, it's a mess on console, clearly made for a PC mouse, not a controller. The world graphics are sadly poor. Wildlands Bolivia was so rich in detail and "alive". Feels like the made the game with no love.

    The positive:
This game is stunningly beautiful. The team play is really fun. and the tactical nature is solid with the release of imersive mode.
The NEGATIVE: this game released a week after the beta ended with absolutely no changes at all. This whole game has been a dumpster fire. Everything is behind a paywall. They finally dropped the new game experience and added a second story

They finally dropped the new game experience and added a second story episode. But they want you to buy the sam fisher missions for 1900 ghost points and are still selling the year one pass for $40. This game is the biggest piece of trash because of how many micro transactions they cram down your throat. I'm never gonna buy another Ubi title again.

We want good single player games
We don't want loot and shoot We don't want microtransactions We don't want grinding We don't want pay to win

Its better if game companies learn this quick to avoid failure. Don't be greedy make games with passion and it will sell crazy

This is a step down from already a flawed wildland. Instead of improving it, we have "RPG loot base element" that really fitted for partial tactical simulation shooting games. Not recommended to buy this trash.

I waited to make this criticism so that it was more accurate. I do not understand why the game grade was so low. I understand Pay2Win is abominable and Breakpoint wanted to follow this line. This is one of the only negatives I saw in the game. The game has many advantages and I will put some of them below:
    1. You can clear areas of likely enemies and marking enemies. This makes the game much more challenging and interesting as you will have to memorize where your enemies are and never know where they might come from.
    2. You don't have a clear objective and you choose the story path. I've been looking for this for a long time in an open world game that, despite having the missions, you are free to go your way. Whether it's map knowledge, tackling enemies, and setting up a strategy or tactic that will best support your game.
    3. It's not similar to The Division 2 as many say. Much of the mechanics here follow the Wildlands. Here the character speaks. A few things like mounting the gun are alike, though, I found a positive aspect.
    4. The game has a giant live map. You pass areas of the map that are likely to have their actions in the future, and things are working normally. Devices being activated. When you take a map tour looking for fast travel points, it's fun to watch the beautifully designed map.

My score just won't be 10 due to trying to push us a Pay2Win (I hope Ubisoft stops with this soon), but as far as I saw from the game, the game has perfectly met my expectations.

What I personally don't like is the story. I would have preferred something real like in Wildlands - Mexican drug war, or Syrian conflict. Instead we're fighting high tech drones on some fictional island, well...
The PVP mode is great though, bigger maps and you can play the same character with the same upgrades as in campaign. Alone for the PVP it's worth it. Just make sure all your weapons are Mk3 before you start playing online, or you'll mess up your K/D like me.

Stop shedding tears over Wildlands, the game is from 2016 and the graphics are just not up to date anymore. Breakpoint is a good sequel, with some flaws. If you like playing co-op with a friend or tactical PVP then you'll have fun with this game.

This is an indisputable fact. He talks about "gaming as a product". Retard, if we are speaking that broadly then everything is a product. Don't be an idiot and incorrect. Games are an art form. Lastly he talks about "In the last 10 or so years the quality of titles, especially triple A has declined." Again, retard you are trying to say "The quality of titles in general" but are communicated that terribly. This is indisputable fact. Also no, it's an indisputable fact that in the last 10 or so years only the quality of Western triple A titles in general have declined. You yourself have acknowledged and continue to acknowledge that there are still genuinely awesome Western triple A games in recent years, you communicated it terribly however. Also indisputable fact. Lastly no, it's an indisputable fact that in the last 10 years or so the general quality of AA and Indie games has increased, this is an indisputable fact. Whoever fails to understand that is indisputably and irrefutably a complete retard who understands nothing. Also the idiot says "With higher budgets, more advanced technology, and larger teams, how it gaming getting WORSE? We'll i'm here to explain it to you." First retard technology, teams, budgets, that isn't involved, secondly gaming isn't getting WORSE. This is an indisputable fact that other than for some AAA games "gaming" isn't getting worse. Yes, HOW is it getting worse? Again, you are trying to say "AAA gaming in general" but are incompetent at it. Regardless you are wrong. Another thing, The Act Man's Youtube channel is probably run by a bot nowadays and it will indisputably be shut down in the near future considering Youtube's ineptitude. Probably by next year even. Everything I have said in response to this retard is indisputable fact.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers a vast universe, where the survival aspects have been strengthened from GR Widlands. If the game suffers from a perfectible AI and a clear feeling of "déjà-vu", it doesn’t take anything away from its effectiveness. It works well, especially in coop, while the PVP is viciously nervous. An imperfect title, but with great moments, and a huge potential if handled with care by Ubisoft in the coming months.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coincidentally living up to its name, being a failure and potential gravedigger for the famous franchise. Riddled with Pay-to-Win microtransactions tacked on looter shooter gameplay and pretty under average storytelling, even Jon Berenthal wasn’t enough to arise this gameplay up to some decent playable heights.

At its best, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a taut and tactical shooter that works brilliantly in co-op and is genuinely enjoyable to play but at its heart this is just another sandbox shooter and one that doesn't meet the technical standards we're used to from Ubisoft.
