    I'm always a bit hesitant to rate a game a 10. In fact, I've never done it before. But The Last Of Us simply wowed me. Writing this review about a year after playing the game and I still catch myself recalling key moments in the game.

    Challenging, captivating, and gut-wrenching. The cutscenes meld seamlessly with gameplay.

    The Last Of Us is a game I had lying around for 3 months before a friend convinced me it was worth playing, to put it shortly he was correct. Gameplay is stealth based and you will often find yourself hiding in the shadows waiting for your time to strike against human and infected enemies. Down to the beautiful visuals, the heart-wrenching score, and the characterization of both Ellie and Joel make this an amazing game that I highly recommend.     This is one of the best games I have ever played. I've played it at least 4 times since its original release on the PS3. It has an easily digestible story and lovable characters. Gameplay isn't groundbreaking, but when it originally came out the thought of being able to move ladders and planks around to solve puzzles was awesome. I highly recommend everyone plays this game, it is a classic.

    This game is by far one of the best single-player games of the 2010s decade. I told my girlfriend to play through the beginning, it had her in tears, she is not a gamer. It is rare for a game to tug my emotions and keep my attention, but The Last Of Us had me captivated from start to finish.

    When I was younger I was never really into story based games, preferring to play games like FIFA or Minecraft. But this game really changed that. I first experienced it when my brother played it qnd I saw bits and pieces. As time went on I saw more and more of the game and made rhe mistake of watching a walkthrough before playing. But when I did play it, it was an experience I'll never forget. I don't know what it was about rhis game in particular but I experienced so much more by playing it myself.

    The story is one of my favourites ever told in any medium. It was truly an analysis on humanity and love, as well as showing rhe darker side of humanity that would be further expanded in Part II.

    The gameplay was a little clunky at times but for a 2013/4 game it is brilliant, as are the systems and graphics that still hold up to this day.

    It's really cliche to say but this game changed my life. I feel like I have a better understanding of the world in part thanks to this and as an aspiring storyteller it is the gold standard of how they should be told in any medium.    … Expand

    The best game I've ever played. The last of us will have you being dragged through a puddle of your own tears to flat out sprinting from your darkest fears. Storytelling at its finest. Great gameplay. Incredible atmosphere and superb voice acting makes this game endlessly replayable.

    The Last Of Us (2013) will forever be one of the greatest games ever made because it has truly changed the way games can tell stories. The graphics still hold up super well and the gameplay is great, but what truly makes the game a masterpiece is with its story, writing, and characters. If you haven't played it yet, then play it, you won't be disappointed.

    Wow! The fact I waited until now to fully play this game is beyond me. It is simply gaming bliss. It is arguably the greatest story and gameplay combination. It is even a step above the uncharted series. The way I just got hooked was second to none. If you own this, you already know. If you don’t, then get of your butt and play it.

Anyways, I truly do thoroughly enjoy this game. The upgrades are cool and the weapons are good. I also find the progression of the zombies to be really cool and adds an extra challenging level to many encounters with enemies. This is all coming from a senior in high school who doesn't religiously play video games, but does love to sit back and play something worthy once in a while :)… Expand

    The DLC Left Behind was interesting and talked about Ellie's personality, how she managed when Joel was sick and about friendship that Elli has brought to daylight in the main game. It was pretty short, but with a fantastic story.

    One of the best games ever. The story and characters are fantastic, and the gameplay is fun in my opinion. The soundtrack is one of the best in any video game. Incredible video game and Naughty Dogs best.

    One of the greatest stories told in Gaming. The performances and writing is some of the best ever done. Game play is gruesome and intense which compliments the overall tone of the game superbly. Overall my favourite game ever and an incredible experience I won't ever forget.

    One of the best games. A hard story about a man Joel and a girl Ellie who need to survive in the post-apocalypse. Gorgeous gameplay, great soundtrack, detailed details and a very cool atmosphere, this game touches on the problems of fathers and children, responsibility to loved ones, as well as about people and their cruelty, well done guys, the best game!

    The Last of Us literally shaped me as a gamer and really changed the way I like my games. It's not the Survival-Horror-Genre I am talking about, but the game's linear structure, it's way of storytelling and the content the story provides. The fairly simple but fun gameplay is close to perfection when it comes to Survival-Horror-Games and really provides a great support to the storytelling.The Last of Us literally shaped me as a gamer and really changed the way I like my games. It's not the Survival-Horror-Genre I am talking about, but the game's linear structure, it's way of storytelling and the content the story provides. The fairly simple but fun gameplay is close to perfection when it comes to Survival-Horror-Games and really provides a great support to the storytelling. The well chosen ammount of collectibles help with that too :D. I also want to point out the great Atmosphere the game has: From suspenseful, bloody fights for death to very quite beautiful and emotional scenes, the game has everything you want. Finally the characters Joel and Ellie are without any doubt some of the best written and designed characters in history. Their development and their exciting, emotional and stirring father-daughter relationship took me on an emotional rollercoaster like I have never experienced before and after (until TLOU Part II).
    To conclude this I want to tell everybody: PLAY THE F***ING GAME. It is video game history and every gamer (who owns a playstation ;D) should have experienced this game. In my opinion it is Naughty Dog's best game. Also don't be scared of me describing it as "Horror". It is just the overall genre i would categorise it. I am kind of a scaredy-cat myself when it comes to horror and I really didn't think the game was Scary ;D. Have fun playing if you haven't already.    … Expand

What the Last of Us achieved with it's story is nothing short of groundbreaking and shows what video games can really do.     A post-apocalyptic road trip that offers a fantastic, riveting experience, where destruction and beauty, and hope and despair, get entwined in a way that’s nothing short of genius, The Last of Us is so good that its somewhat repetitive, and occasionally dull gameplay isn’t enough to rob it of its rightful place amongst the video game greats. Therefore, if looking for an unforgettable action-adventure, with strong cinematic sensibilities, and a heavy emphasis in adult, character-driven storytelling, look no further than Naughty Dog’s classic, especially now that the remastered version has made the original even more stunning.
