    Honestly not that bad, but with the way the review companies are talking about the game, it does come off as utter nonsense. This game is a 7.5/10 at best, not a masterpiece, as some would have you believe. My main issue is with how bad the story telling is, for a AAA company like Naughty Dog, who specializes in story based games, this game is a total train-wreck in terms of storytelling.Honestly not that bad, but with the way the review companies are talking about the game, it does come off as utter nonsense. This game is a 7.5/10 at best, not a masterpiece, as some would have you believe. My main issue is with how bad the story telling is, for a AAA company like Naughty Dog, who specializes in story based games, this game is a total train-wreck in terms of storytelling. The actual story itself isn't super new or unique, but that doesn't mean it's devastatingly bad either.

    I won't go in dept as i have better things to do, but a summarized version of what would've been better: storytelling that doesn't feel all over the place and random, instead a rather linear but conflicting story-line between the two protagonists (which honestly felt like what the game was trying to do but failed miserably), not killing off main and side characters just for that 'wow' effect (some scenes felt like they were being violent for the sake of being violent, and don't actually contribute to the plot or anything), not killing off main characters super early and then forcing them back in through flashbacks (this allows for proper pacing to develop your character and make their death have a larger impact, writing 101 i guess), reworking that ending entirely as it is not thoroughly justified at all, properly try to develop characters and not force players to empathize with some of them. There are more things i could nitpick, but like i said my main issue was the junior level storytelling.
    Overall i rate this game a 'meh' out of 10.
    Also, have to get in my obligatory "Joel-in-One, Bigot Sandwiches".    … Expand

    El juego es bueno, el desarrollo de la historia también, los detalles son el conflicto que provocaron en el personaje principal (Ellie), que por sus deseos de venganza perdió tantas cosas por las que había luchado...
    Otro problema es la trágica y dura muerte de Joel, ya que para muchos fue lo más trágico que le podían hacer al personaje principal del primer juego con el que varios nos    El juego es bueno, el desarrollo de la historia también, los detalles son el conflicto que provocaron en el personaje principal (Ellie), que por sus deseos de venganza perdió tantas cosas por las que había luchado...
    Otro problema es la trágica y dura muerte de Joel, ya que para muchos fue lo más trágico que le podían hacer al personaje principal del primer juego con el que varios nos encariñamos,, con esta nueva historia su muerte no fue la merecida y el jugar con su propia asesina (Abby), es un punto conflictivo, porque nadie quería jugar siendo esa mujer, aunque sus intenciones tuvieran justificación no es así como debía hacerlo... Al final de la historia se da a entender el porqué Ellie dejó vivir a Abby, siendo ella una personaje que sus deseos de venganza la hicieron perder todo, o al menos eso es lo que da a entender. No digo que sea mal juego, solo que tuvo unos puntos que lo hicieron tener un promedio regular (de mi parte), y personalmente el pensar en la historia me decir que no hagan el juego canónico, sino otra historia y que un juego mejor desarrollado de acuerdo a la opinión de los jugadores se pueda concretar una historia y juego digna de esta franquicia...    … Expand

    It could be a normal game if only it was standalone and we didnt knew main characters. It doesnt have any connection to the lore, the story about hate could live separate from TLOU world. Damn, they sleep in world of mushroom zombie with open windows. But most disappointing thing is drawn dramaturgy with stupid characters intensions. You playing in this game and just dont believe it.     It is hard to imagine what went on in the Naughty dog development studio all these years. To make up a story as ridiculous as this in all these years is mind boggling. A game where the story is everything suffers way too much from this. Unlikeable characters, unnecessary new characters, out of character choices, ridiculous plotholes, the list goes on and on.

    Next to that the gameplay    It is hard to imagine what went on in the Naughty dog development studio all these years.     Next to that the gameplay feels very outdated and everything that has been added on is useless. It is an absolute chore to play this game.

    nos muestra que siempre hay 2 caras de una misma historia, que TLOU no es un juego de héroes y antagonistas, nos muestra lo frágil y humanos que son sus personajes, que todo acto tiene su consecuencia.
    creo que the last of us II, no es fácil de entender, de comprender o incluso de disfrutar, juega de manera sublime con las emociones de sus jugadores. Realmente creo que hay personas que no estaban listas para jugarlo.

    Es una continuación fiel de el primero, la historia tiene huecos lo que hace que sea difícil entender el final pero una vez analizándolo de una perspectiva menos emocional, es un final digno y abierto a una continuación, si te gustan los juegos con historias inmersivas este es uno que no debe de faltar

    One of the best games i ever played. The graphics are incredible, with lots of details, it’s really impressive! Besides, the game has a great story, and give us a great lesson that in life there’s no good or evil, and everyone has the good and the bad side, depending of how you look it.

    One of the greatest games I have ever played. This game takes the necessary risks to elevate it to the next level. For those wanting more of the same as far as story than this isn't for you. This is a complete vision coming to life and also pulling it off in my opinion. Give it a chance and keep an open mind, you owe it to yourself to do that much.

    Not much to talk about, just a great game. The gameplay is something I've never seen before in any game, attention to detail and finishing are incredible too. And the story, although it has a unpredictable ending, is phenomenal.

    Me parece una apuesta arriesgada sin ninguna intención de fanservice, incomodo a veces , obscuro, desalentador, pero con un mensaje de fondo, con una historia con la que logre conectar y entender lo que quería demostrar, solo con algunos problemas en la forma de contarla que quizá con un cambio en el orden de mostrar los sucesos hubiera sido mas acertada quizá. En lo que a gameplay se refiere, se mantiene casi fiel a la obra original con algunos cambios que dan dinamismo y refrescan los enfrentamientos. En apartado técnico es simplemente espectacular, las capturas de movimiento y faciales son abrumadoras, sonido inmersivo que con un 5.1 o audífonos es una experiencia notable, con opciones inclusivas para todo tipo de jugador, en estos apartados sin duda es lo mejor que se ha visto en una ps4. Quitando la polémica este es uno de los mejores juegos de esta generación le guste a quien le guste. NaghtyDog como siempre dejando la vara muy alta!!.
    Mas que recomendarlo es una experiencia que se debe experimentar personalmente, diferente , una montaña rusa de emociones, algo que pocos juegos logran hacer sentir, por eso el amor y odio totalmente entendible...    … Expand

    I loved this game. it's probably either my favourite or second favourite game of all time.

    Secondly there's the people who dislike the story. To this I'd say each to their own, but I personally enjoy stories that challenge me. This won't be for everyone but by no means is it objectively bad. That's just ridiculous. Ignore anyone who says this. It takes some surprising and unusual routes, but the story to me was fantastic, challenging and original. I've never played a game that made me experience so much emotion, or stay with me in the same way. That said, that's my opinion, clearly a lot of people didn't experience the story the way I did. I think that's a shame because I found it truly astounding.

    Lastly I've seen some criticism of the scavenging gameplay. It's almost exactly the same as the first game, so if you didn't enjoy in that, expect to find it tedious in this. For me, it pulled me into the world and enabled me to truly explore the utterly stunning scenery.

    There's no denying the astonishing amount of work that went into this game. Regardless of opinions around the story, the environments, animations, textures, lighting and design are all the best that I've seen in our current generation. Please when considering this game, read the nuanced reviews, not the hate filled ones.    … Expand

Sometimes too repetitive and slow paced (a bit dull) and the ending was awful (but not badly written). I wish, I as a player, could have had more influence on things like killing Nora but I also realise that it was meant to be uncomfortable as it was a part of Ellie's development.     The game is so good. Interesting storytelling choices. Well made gameplay, terrific graphics. During playing sometimes the pacing feels off and distracting, but when coming to the end of the game it all makes sense. Best game i've ever played.

    Was an experience unlike anything I ever played and I mean it in a good way. The gameplay, technical aspects, art, and mechanics are great. The story is well written but does make you think and was invokes emotions and makes you think which turned off many. But I loved it.

Its more like 'two sides of the same coin'... Its getting a lot of hate because people can't accept a beloved character getting killed but when you see from Abby's perspective, what she did was not entirely wrong(I'm not saying its good either)... She wanted revenge because Joel denied a potential cure for the world... When we play as her you can see what kind of person she really is and I would dare as to say that she had more humanity than Ellie... Her character development was really good and it really made me feel emotional over all... What I'm trying to say is that don't trust blind reviews... Play the game and judge it yourself...

    Despite all the crybabies hating on the game because they didn't like the story, I thought it was amazing, and kept me immersed throughout the entire game. I still prefer the first one, but this is an amazing sequel.

It this game was so good why is the score by users getting trashed and causing a huge divide in the player base. The company wronged the customer and gave them a shell of a sequel, that honestly has little replay value and theyPlayed it all the way through. Graphics are amazing but the story is trash. Here is the thing, I loved tlou1 and it is a great game....everyone loved tlou1. It this game was so good why is the score by users getting trashed and causing a huge divide in the player base. The company wronged the customer and gave them a shell of a sequel, that honestly has little replay value and they lied about the plot. I honestly have little faith in ND in delivering a sequel in the future. They literally murdered a beloved character and made us play as the murderer? Really? This was your beat decision? I guarantee you this isn’t what the customer wanted. And what really grinds my gears is that the players that like the game say I don’t have the emotional intelligence to empathize the suffering, story and characters. Well, it seems they don’t have the emotional intelligence to empathize with the fan base that doesn’t like this game and our story, Pain and suffering.     The Last of Us Part II is the most amazing story-driven game ever to be released. I have played a lot of video games in my day and nothing even comes close (maybe God of War but still...). I personally think this game requires a certain level of emotional maturity to truly appreciate, which is part of the reason people have been hating on it so much. This game does not hold your hand. It won't be nice to you and play out the way you think it should. This game is rated M for Mature, and it requires that maturity to appreciate it. If you have a lot of psychological issues or consider yourself to be rather emotionally fragile, this may not be the game for you. The story and gameplay are both incredibly grounded in reality. It is brutal. It is heavy. And it is f*cking beautiful.

    If you only like action-packed games where you run around and kill enemies thoughtlessly to get more points or whatever, go buy Call of Duty or DOOM (which by the way, I am not bashing those as I enjoy them both).

    If you want something new, take a risk and play The Last of Us Part II. Naughty Dog has broken the mold as to what storytelling in video games can become. Just remember to go into with an open mind and a realization that your journey will be brutal. I cannot state enough how impressed I am. Each element of TLOU2 is immaculately thought out. The fighting, the gunplay, the stealth, the exploring, the puzzles, the collectibles, the voice acting, the environments, the enemy design, the music (god, the music... best ever). It is all perfectly crafted to create a believable dog-eat-dog story set in a post-apocalyptic world. Naughty Dog outdid themselves. Don't believe all the negative hype.     Don't bother. Really save yourself and check out other games. I'd rather shave my grandfather's legs than this.

    Negative two stars for the story and characters. But the graphics are very good. So my final review is zero.

    A deep character study on darkness, pain, regret, forgiveness, and redemption. It's not afraid to take risks and never pulls its punches - it's an emotional rollarcoaster with no heroes or villains, just people with complex motivations in a harsh gray world.

    Graphically stunning but that's about it. The game is a miserable slog that I barley finished. You never have any choice in your actions and the many mixed messages are just shoved down your throat. I hated having to kill dogs and being forced to brutally murder people over and over, then later being told I was bad for doing it. The ending made everything feel pointless.

    A must play for everyone that loves deep and bold writing. Excellent, fluid gameplay and impeccable graphics. A true masterpiece can only be this divisive in the trying times we're living in. Loved the first game and loved this one as much.

    Даже не смотря на то, что первая часть вызвала в свое время куда больше эмоций, но совершенно других, не таких как тут, именно за это не 8 а 9.
    Естественно, это не та игра, какой была первая часть, кого-то это разозлит, кого-то зацепит, но, кажется, безразличных почти не остаётся. Игра не о тех Джоэле и Элли, пусть первая часть тоже не была детским развлечением, но она часто была милее, уютнее, эта же намного взрослее, намного более жестокая.
    Главная мораль: Насилие порождает насилие и только тот, кто может вовремя остановиться и задаться вопросом, имеет ли "око за око" вообще смысл, сможет остановить этот порочный круг.
    Проработка локаций, графика и т.д. все на высшем уровне, минус за геймплей, он классный, но я играл на последнем уровне сложности и, конечно, заебывался временами, необходимо было часто отдыхать от всего этого однообразного стелса, но это единственное, из-за чего не мог играть больше 5 часов подряд в неё и приходилось делать перерывы.
    Не смотря на некоторые нелогичности в сюжете, на некоторые поступки, я был очень вовлечен в процесс, даже играя за Эбби, к которой не питал симпатий всю вторую часть игры, хотя понимал, как разработчики пытались выдавить жалость к этому персонажу и ее окружению.
    Скорее всего, как и многие, не хотел драться с Элли, но игра вынудила, выбора нет. Поначалу я уже поставил это для себя как минус для игры, а потом подумал и решил, что это ведь вызвало у меня эмоции, эдакая проверка на привязанность к старому персонажу, до конца не верил, что придется ее убить и оказался прав, вздохнул с облегчением.
    То, что Элли решила поехать мстить в самый последний раз считаю нелогичным, так нормальный человек уже не поступил бы никогда, но у Элли уже беда с головой и тут ничего не изменишь, и исход этого поступка уже абсолютно логичен, осталась ни с чем, поздравляю. Но какие же эмоции.    … Expand

    Simply extraordinary, deep story, interesting characters, groundbraking graphics and great combat. It's almost a perfect improvement over it's predecessor, some people may hate, but I assure, nobody is ready for this experience, that's until now, for me, the strongest competitor for GOTY, just saying.

    The only problem I can find with this game is that is so far ahead than anything else before it that some people are not ready for it. Of course the game will make you upset, that is the whole point, it's an analysis of hate and its consequences. If after finishing the game you still feel hateful then some part of the message was definitely lost on you.

    Visually one of the best games to come to PS4, the gameplay is similar to original last of us game so that's good. Don't like the fact I was forced to play abby it's like rockstar forcing us to play micah in RDR2 and the story could of ended differently but overall it's good.

    Gameplay almost didn't change, it gets very repetitive and boring at times.
    Story is very disappointing with bland dialogue and boring plot. Characters are very unlikable and boring, didn't get attached to any of the characters except joel.

    My only complaint is the pacing. Brace yourself for a long game with people averaging around 25 to 30 hours. However, this game takes risks in narrative structure usually not seen in video games and Naughty Dog knocks it out of the park. The gameplay is a great improvement from the first game and the world you inhabit feels very well lived in with each character and faction fleshed out. AMy only complaint is the pacing.     No tiene nada similar a lo que se nos presnto en los trailers, y las prereseñas anunciadas para el lanzamiento, jugaron con toda la historia que habia detars y el legado de mucho tiempo de insertidumbre ante la infeccion, solo lo hicieron de lado y pusieron problemas personales en medio de una pandemia y el sentido de supervivencia del ser humano, es una historia muy deficiente.

Все хейтят её за феменизм и я их понимаю, сам считаю, что он в этой игре ни к чему, насчет ЛГБТ никаких притнзий не имею, ведь ещё с дополнения к первой части игры было понятно, что Элли лесбиянка. Было неприятно, что в игре фигурируют по большей части только женские персонажи, а мужские отходят на второй план. Насчет Эбби все довольно очевидно, многие хейтят её за внешний вид, но этому есть объяснение, так как на протяжении нескольких лет она усердно тренировалась, как она ещё должна выглядеть? Отдельно хочу выделить, что в игре очень хорошее звуковое сопровождение, оружие ощущается реалистично, единственная проблема со звуком и музыкой, так как от них вся комната ходила ходуном, играл у друга и у себя на телевизоре и я не представляю, какие мощные нужны динамики, что бы вытянуть нормально звук и музыку. Не смотря на то, что в геймплей не было добавлено практически ничего нового, играть в игру приятно и интересно. Сюжет довольно трогательный, есть пища для размышлений, но концовка меня не устроило. В целом, игра мне понравилась, моя оценка 8, но я поставлю 10, в качестве компенсации за хейтеров, которые смотрели на игру только со стороны пропаганды феменизма и лгбт.… Expand

    When I started this game I was certainly not expecting a philosophical journey into the futility of revenge and the horrors of the cycle of violence— but that’s what I got. A beautiful, heart breaking work of art. Well done Naughty Dog.

    Gonna start off with mentioning what this game did well:

    Graphics - 10/10. Amazing. Not an expert but I can imagine this is about the best you can do with current generation of consoles. Not much to say here, simply breathtaking. Level design - 8/10. I think they could have done better at letting us explore the world more and hid more easter eggs, but overall most levels felt good to    Gonna start off with mentioning what this game did well:

    Soundtrack - 8/10. It is really good and does a good job for setting your mood for particular levels and parts of the story, but I don't think it's as brilliant as in first game.
    Gameplay - 7/10. Again, it's good, but it's mostly the same as part 1. Don't get me wrong, gameplay in the first game is great, but I feel like they could have done much more in 2020.

    And now to the elephant in the room...

    Story - -100/10. The characters we know and love from first game are absolutely butchered and dumbed down for convenience and to be able to tell us a stupid story about revenge being bad. Only a handful of newly introduced characters are interesting. Most of them you never end up caring about, even though the game tries incredibly hard to make you empathise with them and love them. Characters do the most idiotic things to make the story Druckmann intended happen and kind of make sense, but it never ends up making any sense anyway.
    The first game left everything for the player's interpretation at the end. The second game forces a certain narrative without leaving any room for the players to speculate, even though a lot of things you find in the first game clearly dispute the narrative they push in part 2.

    Overall I think Niel Druckman has a huge ego problem and tried too hard to write a deep story, challenge people's morals and overcome the first game's writing, which was only good because Brice was here to keep his insane insecure leftie extrimist ideas in check, but ended up writing a piece of garbage that makes absolutely no sense and teaches you nothing, just leaves you sad and angry.

    If you loved the first game as much as I did, replayed it numerous times and have tons of warm and fuzzy feelings about it - DO NOT play this game. Just remember the first one for the masterpiece it is. This game throws everything that was good about the first one in the trash and destroys our favorite characters.

    I replayed The Last of Us about 7 times. Currently playing through remastered PS4 version again, trying to forget about the dumpster fire that the story of part 2 is. Never going to replay it.

It's amazing how a videogame could awake in me so many emotions in a playtrough, reaching to a conclusion that I wasn't expecting.     Tlou 2 was mediocre at best. Gameplay was same fun gameplay tlou 1 had. Story was mediocre revenge story we've all seen before. Nothing new there. Abby sucked ass. Pure trash character. Absolutely worst part of the game was that naughty dog forced me to play that steroid **** I never expected this to be as good as tlou1 but come on, this game was just bad compared to the first.

    Its a very good game. It digs deeper than everyone understands. This game reveals human psichology and does that through the player himselft. Its really more than just a horror action game. And people who didnt understand that and gives a game a bad score. Well what can a I say its a pity.

    Not a 10/10, I would say a 9/10. But since people are so dumb and immature to understand the story, I'll give it a 10/10. I loved the first game, got platinum on it. And the second one is just wonderful and poetic. It is sad to see what Ellie have become and what happened to Joel, but given the ending of the first game, it actually makes a lot of sense, but people are just too dumb toNot a 10/10, I would say a 9/10.     It breaks my heart to write this, but I really did not expect such a poor story after all these years of waiting. While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
