The original was a masterpiece. This game is not. I did not buy the game, i watched a stream because i was unsure if i would like it. It feels to me like they sacrificed the original game and its character development to make it fit to "the larger isuess of our time". I did not care for it. It also has alot of plotholes...

Пришло время поговорить о том,почему The last of Us part II

Это (The last of us 2) нельзя назвать ни игрой ни фильмом.
The legend of zelda BOTW ?

I really like both and what they driven trought the game. But it is really sad Neil Druckmann killed Joel. Like if he killed Nathan Drake. The atmosphere not as good as the first game.
Troy Baker voice acting little bit disapointing too. That strained texas accent is too much. I never heard speaking like that in the fist game.
They over-separated the depressing and the happier parts.
The overall ending after the two characters met at the ending is lack of atmosphere. Ellie at the farm with Dina and after Dina is so empty... At least Abby give us some emotions.

If they give us only Abby's story in this game without killing Joel and give her an other motivation to find the Fireflies or at least what was left of it would be much better.
And atleast we never know about Joel and Ellie and how Druckman ruined them in this game...

The first game ending is so beautiful... Compare to THIS...

    Gameplay 8/10

Atleast Uncharted 4 has a great and beautiful ending.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let’s go through some of the aspects I care about:

1)Gameplay. It didn't change much since the first part. I was not very thrilled with it in the first place, though I've found it more enjoyable in the second part than in the first one even considering the almost double length. However, I would like to point out that this rather simple gameplay loop doesn't fit very well with the amount of time you spend with this game which made me hate every stealth section during certain periods of the game (like early part of the second half). I would say that if you liked gameplay in the first part, you are going to like it here. If you disliked it - you will probably still dislike it though a little less.

2)Characters. All the characters (for me with the exception of Ellie) act either completely reasonable or at least fully understandable by me. I didn't give a single darn about Ellie when the game begun, started liking her and relate to her closer to the middle and felt very sorry for her in the end. I hated Abby throughout the entire game but closer to the end my hatred wore off a bit though explaining her motivation didn't do anything to me since I expected her to be fully motivated to do all she did in the first place. The rest of the characters were either insignificant to me (like Dina or Lev) or had too little time to shine (like Tommy or Jesse) though the last two did very well with the time they've got.

3)Aesthetics. Views are always gorgeous designers should take my applause. Game looks very great. However, we have a classic problem of a left-viewed director thinking too much about deactualisation woman thus making every single one of them either from just not really attractive to ugly (like Ellie or Dina or some random females) to an absolute monstrosity like Abby during most of the game: the implausible amount of muscles, garbage haircut, sometimes bizarre-looking faces made me feel like it is just a weird-looking man voice acted by a woman.

4)Story. MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD. It didn't really develop (for me) in the first part of the game (except the very beginning when Joel got killed. Then, well, almost nothing happened: yeah, Ellie was going to point A, then B, then C, e.t.c. This part looked more like a character development part and it served its purpose right, so not much to complain about. Then Abby comes after Ellie and here I feel like the writer made a mistake: we've switched to Abby after the moment she points the gun towards Ellie which creates intrigue. For me, it made playing Abby far less interesting because I didn't really care about her and because I was already a little bit tired with gameplay and now I had to play for roughly 8 more hours with progression being reset. It didn't feel right. Now I would like to look at some of Ellie's decisions. First, she decided to go after Abby instead of helping Tommy even though they agreed with Jesse to go only for Tommy even if it means leaving Abby alive. I don't like it but it is believable for me. Second, in the end of the Santa Barbara mission: in the end, Ellie frees Abby and during the fight when she takes the upper hand Ellie doesn't finish Abby off but lets her go instead. I can understand why this happened - to make me feel sorry for Ellie as with her revenge she got nothing left: she can't return to Tommy since she didn't kill Abby, Dina left her, Jesse got killed mostly because of her (if she had gone with him for Tommy she wouldn't have left the map and wouldn't have led Abby to them), she's lost two of her finger so she can't play the guitar which is the only legacy of Joel. But I don't find this decision believable. Just think about it: she has left Dina knowing she is unlikely to ever see her again, she took a hike to Santa-Barbara, which is presumably far from home, she had gone through thugs in Santa-Barbara while being injured, then she forced Abby to fight and just couldn't finish? I guess it is all about her regret of killing Abby's friends which we could see after she did that but it just doesn't line up for me: if she felt regretful for carrying the revenge, then why she left everything she had behind for the sake of this revenge even when she had a great opportunity to start a new happy life? if she is not regretful and still full of the urge to avenge Joel, keep her promise to Tommy then why she choked in the very last moment? Was this last revenge journey this long for her to change her mind, did it happen in the very end? Why then? I can't comprehend this myself and I don't really believe in it. Or maybe I don't want to believe in - I don't know. Still, I would like it to end differently.

Overall, my experience with this game was better than with the first one. This one had some ups and downs with it, downs mostly on gameplay part for me. I would give this game either 8 or 8.5 but I would round it up to 9 because of these review bombers.

The Last of Us 1 is a game that has been loved by many for three specific reasons:
Graphical beauty, character development and storytelling.
Joel and Ellies complexed relationship was fascinating and made the motive of the story intriguing and captivating, and the core of the game lies in the Storytelling.
The Last of Us 2 takes place years after the first happening. It is a visual masterpiece, the VA's are on point, and it almost feels like watching a movie at times. ....But here comes a problem.
Neil Druckmann, the writer and director of the game, knew that without a specific happening, this new game would eventually stagnate. Neil Druckmann needed a strong plot, so what would be better than something very infuriating?
Neil Druckmann went ahead to kill of the gameseries most beloved character.
This choice will bring Very divided opinions. I am standing inbetween.
I understand that letting us, along with Ellie, watch Joel getting tortured and executed will fire our passion. Passion for Revenge.
The problem doesn't fully lie in that Joel died. The problem lied in the Way he died and how Early he died. Creating a game while trollbaiting its fans that they will play as Joel and Ellie again, only to kill Joel off within 3 hours of a 25 hour long game is unfair. Not just for the hardcore fans but also those of us who simply created a bond with Joel in the first installment.
In other words, in order to Successfully kill Joel off, Neil had to make the rest of the story Intense and Passionated. It needed to be about revenge... and i am Not saying it wasn't.
I am saying that it was too little, too late.
The first 7 hours after Joels death was stagnating, filled with paddings and "mini-puzzles" (For instance, when you have to find safe codes, move something out of the way or turn on generators).
It doesn't help that the relationship between Dina and Ellie barely progress or develops, which kind of sucks since you Want to like Dina. When you finally think that the game reaches a turn of event, from the slowpaces tempo it held for so long, you suddenly no longer play as Ellie, instead you get to PLAY as Joels MURDERER.

Halfway into the story, we get to follow this person, Abby, and her point of view.
Why she kills Joel, what she does up til the point of the decisive battle.
It is Very hard to care about Abby, and the whole plot feels Forced.
We get it, Joel killed her father, but the same father wanted to do an operation on Ellie that definitely would have killed her, Yet knowing he would Never have done that same operation on his Own daughter. (His hypocrism makes it difficult to pity his death at all)
Then all of a sudden Neil Druckmann wants us to care for Abbys lovelife and friendships. He fails.
Ironically the second part of the game has the most interesting actionscenes, and the grittyness can get very intense at times, almost Too real.
On that note, it is important to mention how incredibly wellmade some details in the fightingscenes are. When you for example strangle an enemy you litterally see their facial reactions to it, including their restless panicked eyes and the screams from someone that you just shot sounds unnervingly realistic.
In other words, when the action gameplay works, it WORKS.
The problem is that the STORYTELLING lacks creativity and enough motivation to go on.
The passion is gone, and while playing as Abby you don't fully know what you are supposed to do. It is like a milelong padding filled with actionscenes.
On top of that there is multiple Flashbacks. Not only mentioning the main flashback for Abby, but we also enters flashbacks within flashbacks within flashbacks, and eventually the whole plot is lost in a maze of different timezone with little to no reasons to be told at all.
The only part worth mentioning is when Abby meets Yara and Lev. Both contribute well to the story imo.
Now that we have reached the Present again, and expect us a decisive battle where you kill Abby as Ellie, you gets to play as Abby trying to kill Ellie instead. As if the whole game hasn't been a big slap in the face already. At this point you simply don't care anymore.
After the fight ends, Abby and Ellie goes their seperated ways and Ellie settles down with a pregnant Dina (How convenient).
HERE the game should have ended. Simple and clean after an already failing storytelling... But NO. Now Ellie wants to hunt down Abby again.
I don't even want to dig into the ending, since it makes no sense and feels more like Neil wanted to throw in some "final fortress", but the story ends the same way as before anyways.
I think Neil Druckmann desperately tried to copy both classic Homeros and cult-director Hideo Kojima. He did not make it.
For those that loves action and graphics but couldn't Care about storytelling, this is the game for You.
For us Others who loves storytelling... this was simply a mediocre Disappointment.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 1/10, just like most A-Squad members would say, except, I watched this dog/ape/giraffe of a game and couldn't even enjoy anything besides the streamer's commentary and his comical chat of which I was watching. I wasn't even playing it and all I can say is, I'm glad I saved 60 bones because maybe I can purchase something more useful, like bleach to clean my eyes with after watching this repetitive and strand-like type of game. Not only have you ruined the integrity of the story with political agenda, but also Naughty Dog as a whole (who have actually come out with notable games like Crash and some of the Uncharted's). It is just so appalling to me that this story got through group-thinks and conferences or whatever it may be that they hold in order to come together and criticize their work. To be frankly honest, there is just no way that a game as shockingly terrible as this one, especially when compared to it's predecessor, wasn't critiqued during its earliest of stages just for the story alone. My guess is, there were people who did try to speak up but when they did, they were berated and scolded because they were seen as sexist/transphobic/racist/homophobic/etc. and thus, others noticing that factor, decided to stay quiet as well. How does one create a masterpiece like the first game, and manage to, quite literally, beat the second game to a pulp like the lackluster (and lack-in-trailer main character) Abby when she brutally killed Joel. I'm not saying that it's bad because Joel died, you can do that one hundred percent and still make it a good game, but her killing him because of Joel killing her dad without any redemption from Ellie or understanding/guilt from Abby is what makes the story so pointless and poorly written. Shortened Evidence: Tommy would never ever leave something of which can trace them (the map) behind, especially when it was literally in his view and because of years spent in the apocalypse; Joel and Tommy together, both survived pretty long and well during this time, leading on to think they are smart and cannot be outwitted easily but nope, die to a trap/sabotage which can be easily seen as well as diverted from the beginning; Ellie wouldn't just let Abby go after everything, even with the kid, because of Joel's everlasting death on her head, Tommy's not to-the-death but brutal beating that led us to believe he died, Dina because of Ellie abandoning her true love (which Dina told her that she most likely won't be there if Ellie came back) to specifically go out and KILL Abby, all of her other friends that were literally killed by Abby and Nora, and literally the whole first game where where Joel literally blacks out and wakes up in a hospital with the last thing of him seeing is Ellie getting taken away and him being told that he won't be able to see her because they have A CHANCE (not even certain) of a vaccine to be made from her, as if that vaccine, unlike any other vaccine that has ever been created in the history of mankind, will be shipped out completely for free AND the only source is a teenage girl, how many products of vaccines would that even create? Plus, you're in an apocalypse, you really don't think there would be any power-hungry folks trying to get control of the vaccine and literally use it to reap the benefits. The fact that the devs even still try to bring up how Ellie is mad at Joel in the end for not letting her die and make that vaccine is just so poor because the whole story is there, and maybe, even if Ellie was never told the full details (im talking full deets, not "yeah, they were going to kill you for a vaccine and I just grew a bond towards ya and didn't want that to happen, 'nuff said" because if Joel explained it the way it was, Ellie would be on his side whole-heatedly) she should be able to single-handedly understand the concept of a vaccine for the turned in an apocalyptic environment, especially when shes seen people kill others over food, resources, shelter, etc. Just writing a review about this game gets me angry and I didn't even play the game, I watched it! It's just so absurd. This game deserves less than the two fingers Abby bit off Ellie, so I'll give it 1/10 fingers, Expand
