    Pros: Good Graphics and Voice Acting
    Cons: Bad boring repetitive game play from 2010, Very dry and boring characters and story line which was a big let down, most companies can make a game like this with way less money and within 3 years, its sad that a game with so much financial backing and 7 years ended up being this.

    The game-play, graphics, UI and UX are great and even the people that give it 0 says so, so won't it be worth more than 0?!
    Most of the negative reviews seems to be focused on the story.
    I read some of them and I have to say I agree with parts of what they say and it could have been done better.     The story as a whole is a good story,
    It falls short at some part of bringing empathy towards the new characters.
    You do start to feel empathy for those characters later on but it would have been better and would have negate some of the negative reviews if they were to help the player achieve empathy towards those characters much more earlier.

    I finished the game and over all enjoyed it, even the parts I felt bad about what the game forcing me to do.    … Expand

The fact they reduced Joel and Ellie's relationship to bitter flashbacks killed the drive of the entire story, and killing him off before introducing Abby made it impossible to make the player empathize with her in any way. Really poor narrative choices that ruined an otherwise beautiful game with nice graphics and top of the line play-style customization.… Expand

    O jogo está impressionante, não é para toda a gente, o +18 que lá aparece não é apenas por causa da nudez, sexo etc, é sim, também, pela mensagem que a Naughty Dog quis passar, é preciso compreender isso e não dar hate ao jogo porque não foi como queríamos.
    Se fosse possível todos moldavam a historia à sua maneira, mas na minha opinião o jogo está completo e muito bem feito, a historia    O jogo está impressionante, não é para toda a gente, o +18 que lá aparece não é apenas por causa da nudez, sexo etc, é sim, também, pela mensagem que a Naughty Dog quis passar, é preciso compreender isso e não dar hate ao jogo porque não foi como queríamos.

    Muitos dos que criticam, é porque queria mais uma historia cliché, e se calhar no fim criticam à mesma porque não inovaram, mas como eles decidir inovar e arriscar, o pessoal agora não olha para o sentido de inovação e tentar mudar as coisas.

    The main reason this game has such low scores is because ND didn't create a story that was satisfying to the player. Instead they made a story that is tough, gruelling & directly challenges player motivation, forcing you to instead see the world from other perspectives. A lot of people really really hated this decision.

    ND took risks & told a story that's unique & best told with this specific medium. Trying to avoid spoilers here but they illustrate a point very eloquently; that everyone has motivations & that you have never been playing as 'the good guys'. 'Good' doesn't really exist in this world anymore. They made every inch of the game beautiful & harrowing & the production quality is off the charts. Great voice acting, combat & sound design. It's clear that the gameplay isn't the reason for the low reviews... But the story is something you do have to go into with an open mind. It really really tries to show you that the situations you're in with Joel & Ellie, other characters go through the exact same **** The things you're angry about rn? That's the stuff they're angry about too.

    It's clear though that a lot of people won't be swayed by this. Just try to keep an open mind, let yourself have your understanding n perspectives be opened by the game as you play it, don't feel this emotionally attached to Joel & Ellie. Naturally bc it's a game n you play as them you feel like their actions are your actions & you don't want to believe that the things that you've done are wrong. But they are. & your enemies are actually better people than you are. That's the point of the game. The way it tells this is so clever & meta & most importantly, insanely evocative, hence all of the low scores. But if you think a fresh & norm challenging story is something you're looking for rn, play this.    … Expand

    I give it a 10 for the beautiful design, artistry and the hard work that was put into it. I admire the talented people who developed this game - they deserved the best writers, storytellers and direction but instead they had to deal with that horrible storyline.     I give 0 (zero) points to the storytelling and not only because I’m butthurt about the events in this game, but because I’m butthurt over the attitude towards the fandom. I am a big fan of TLOF and it is thanks to us in the first place, the FANS, that ND awes in glory and fame. We have risen ND on a pedestal of a saintly status and have given them our love, our fanarts, our money - and have kept them relevant.
    And what have we been told? We don’t get to choose our favourites and we should not expect any fan service. Really?... Well then don’t expect any fandom service in return.
    My final rating conclusion:
    10 points for the talented team
    0 points for the writing
    - makes a total of 5.
    Minus 1 point for the fact that this is a story driven game and ND had enough time to work out major plot holes and simply write ANY better story.
    Minus another 1 point for the deceptive marketing, misleading trailers and awful attitude towards the fandom.
    Here we go, honest rating of 3 points. No fandom kudos included.

    I celebrate the LGBT themes finally finding representation in the Video Game community. (Even though it was awkwardly executed)
    As a feminist, I was also celebrating the character of Abby the very first second I saw her. She had so much potential to become a loved, unique and stereotype crushing Legend of a female character, but the writers failed her as well.    … Expand

But it was justified IMO, He lies to Elli, **** over mankind, and kills a father who was just trying to do the right thing. He was being selfish, at the end of part one he kills the leader of the fire flies as well, and crossed a lot of people. On top of that Elli was okay with it as long if it could save others. People are forgetting Abby's group were almost ALL ex-firefly members. I give this an 8 because of two portions of the game if you don't follow the script it get screwed and the checkpoints are awful. And no (She isn't a tran) they also kinda show why she's big when you play as her. They live in a football stadium, they have weights, and they have a freaking big dinning area etc. Long story short don't let the negativity fool you, it's mainly Joel salt, when in reality Tommy killed him he gave his name etc. all out their… Expand

I'll admit the graphics are and the animation is amazing. But the story just ruins it. I feel cheated, I feel betrayed. Why even make a game around the theme of vengeance and not actually furfil it?… Expand

    I find the story isn’t compelling enough to justify its existence, so much so to the point where they sacrifice one of the beloved characters for very little return. Overall, the first game has much better pacing and it’s just too difficult to outdo such masterpiece.

    This game should be a masterpiece but the story is all over the place, some games doesn't need a sequel, this is the best example. Everything is AAA but the story. What a shame.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just completed the game for the first time on the 2nd hardest difficulty and I honestly loved it. I idolized and praised the first game, playing it over and over again numerous times. Honestly one of my favorite games of all times and this game shares a similar feeling to me. Obviously no game is perfect, and this game had a few things that I wasn’t the biggest fan of. I know most of the hate revolves around the characters and plot, and this is where my biggest complaint comes in; I thought that the extraneous play time of Abby (a newly introduced character) was a bit of a nuisance and took away from the tone before the shift in characters

    I’m not against her completely or what she stands for in the game. She’s a driving force of the plot and, forced or not, I believe she pushes the game in a very interesting direction. What I’m not a fan of was the player being forced to take her perspective for such a long period of time. I think the game was clearly trying to make the player sympathize with her, but that seems like an impossible task based upon what she did in the first few hours of the game. Her flashback sequences just feel pointless and like wasted gameplay potential. I understand how hard it is to create new complex characters, but I feel like the relationship between Joel and Ellie is what made the first game as amazing as it was, and trying to recreate similar relationships by destroying the old just didn’t seem to work in the same way. I just wished we developed Ellie’s relationships with her friends in place of Abby. I think maybe filling the gap that left with Joel would have been an interesting turn. I understand that the intentions of the game was to mingle with the ideas of violence and payback, so the way they went is understood, maybe just executed in the wrong way? But then again, I’m not a writer or professional critic, so I’m sure many things go over my head

    I would like to state again that I loved the game. The characters were still well done and the game flowed nicely besides the extended break between the end of Ellie’s Seattle story and the end of Abby’s. There is so much to love here and I hope people realize that soon

    Overall I still enjoyed it thoroughly and don’t think it deserves all the hate it gets. The cinematics, score and gameplay made for a really emotional and enjoyable experience. I definitely jumped at points, got sad at points and got angry at points. For a survival horror game that focuses on the relationships between people, I thought it was still well done with the few potential missteps with new characters and plot.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
