I don't believe they destroyed the entire franchise just to push a political agenda. Lack of story, lack of character development, outdated gameplay. I truly regret buying this game, I'll try refund.

This is the message of both these games. The first delivers this in a beautifully straightforward, powerful way. The follow up continues that discussion, but in a much more challenging, complex, and nuanced fashion.

I could write pages about this experience. It is—without reservation—the boldest, most intelligent, most powerful example of the maturation of the blockbuster videogame medium. I was in absolute agony playing parts of this. It subverts your expectations, the way you feel about your own actions, and what I'll be expecting from all story driven games moving forward.

Ignore the wall of negative reviews, especially the thousands posted on launch day. This is a 25-30 hour game, the posts dropped within hours of release clearly have an agenda. Having actually absorbed every inch of the game I can tell you their reactions are exactly what you suspect, and can be disregarded.

This is an overwhelming game that will stretch, challenge, and break your heart. To be anything else would betray the legacy of the original. Bravo Naughty Dog. I'll be thinking about this for weeks.

Big slap to the face to the fans.
Just like the ending of game of thrones, amazing sights but terrible and lazy writing.
Such a shame that now these days in movies and video games, they spent more time the cgi, special effects and graphics and not in the story.
this game is like a brand new Cadillac (graphics, combat skills and locations were amazing), BUT with no engine ( terrible story).

Trash game, one of the worst I have ever played. Worth 5$ max, if even that, played it for 1 hour and then sold it again, couldn't stand it, the gameplay, story and graphics are all embarrassing. Naughty Dog should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this hot garbage.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just a great game and story. The order that characters are presented is perfect in my opinion. Ellie makes decisions that you’re on board with while thinking emotionally that you begin to question as the story goes on. The fog of war and the mess that Ellie plants herself in the middle of make telling Abby’s side so vital. A game that my fiancée and I will play all over again eventually, enjoying every drop as much as the first play through, just as her and I did the first game. Expand

I have waited so long for this game but all i got was a game with very good graphics and nice atmosphere. Apart from these things it is absolutely garbage. Character "development" is horrible and story pacing is **** Plus it seems to try pushing a certain agenda with all the trans and gay characters in it. I have the feeling Druckmann created a game not for the fans but himself.

Initially, the idea itself is perhaps curious - to make players empathize with all the characters on both sides of the plot at once. But this sounds good only in theory, but in practice, when you worry about everyone at once, you don’t worry about anyone separately, the images become blurry, bland, the plot becomes torn, and in the end it becomes banal boring.

So, as in the form of an experiment - the game itself may be nice and of course not bad, but I will certainly never pass it again, it’s better to once again the first part.

I usually don't give reviews but I just feel like I was stolen. I want my money back... Like this is a complete disaster.... I'm all supportive of the LGBT community and rights but this is too much... Abby is more buff than my boyfriend. Plus Joel death? Like really?... Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll start out by saying this- although it made Joel look stupid and completely out of character, his death wasn't actually a deal breaker for me. It made Joel's decision (to choose Ellie over saving lives) become realized as a truly wrong decision that brought some serious consequences his way and gave Ellie some serious motivation. I was actually liking the game 5-6 hrs in and thought it had some great heart felt moments that reminded me of the strong emotional connection between Ellie and Joel. The flash backs seemed like a great way of keeping Joel in the game and giving us more of that dynamic, while simultaneously reminding us that he was gone and to feel that huge loss. I'll also say that I've liked the franchise's nods to ultimately reveal Ellie as gay. It's been subtle and classy, and I never felt it was politically motivated or forced. I'm all for putting some different types of characters in video games, so even the 3 way love story between Ellie Jesse and Dina was fine with me. Ellie is gay, she's badass, and she's a super interesting character. I'm in.

Cut to 10 hrs in....the story is a painfully slow build but I'm still interested and waiting for some major plot points. All the sudden I'm playing as Abby. Why? Why do I need to play as her to feel her motivations? Why is her tragic story suddenly more important than the franchise character's? I continue playing playing but after an HR in with her story I had completely lost interest and was playing on autopilot. The more context to the story, the less the story and the game's theme make sense. I gave it chance to explain, but to the best of my ability the theme is "revenge is bad", yet the antagonist Abby, who is blatantly made out to be the REAL protagonist, sought revenge yet walks away with the happier story! I just don't get the reasoning behind the message, and why it needed to crap all over THIS franchise. I played the original 6 times, and the dlc multiple times as well. For me this was all time most anticipated sequel. Cannot support. So disappointing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

    Puntos Negativos:

Gameplay repetitivo y algo aburrido.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
