And I didn't regret: the game looks and feels just marvelous, very deep and made with a huge passion by insanely talented people. This game is meant to be played the way ND meant it to be played and perceived, from the beginning till the credits in the end. And only then conclude about something you didn't like. Though masterpieces like TLOU2 are made unusual, they actually push the boundaries for the whole game industry. For me it's 10/10.

I don't know how many of those folks who put bad score actually played the whole 25 hours story (I didn't for now) on the release day or even bought the game. I did - my PS Store order is #206456339819. Share yours too (or disk SN) if you really own your copy!

P.S. Hey, Metacritic, you should figure out some buyer verification because this review bombing jeopardizes the trust to your site!

This is the most disappointing experience I've ever had in my gaming life. I can't even describe that frustration I felt, when I realized whats going to happen in second part of the game. After completing the game I understood why devs did this, but it didn't help. It took so much work to make such huge locations, but what's the point? In second part I've speed ran them in disgust, skipping all the content, just to know how the story ends. Yes, TLOU2 is much much longer and bigger than the first game but it also much much shallower. Well, I know that my expectations are my problems, but when you've got army of fans huge like that, you can't just **** on their heads.

    1. The last of us 2 is as Oscar-bait as a game can get with the cheapest predictable and most manipulative plot points. Not to mention all the lies and manipulations used on fans in trailers and press conferences.

    2. Without spoilers, the game is filled with cheap shots that aim to make you feel bad about yourself and hate the main character. Remember "spec ops: the line"? Well, kinda

Remember "spec ops: the line"? Well, kinda like that, but cheap, poorly written and doesn't work. Because there it was a clever subversion of a genre and a satire. This on the other hand is just cheap "look, character X is bad and you should feel bad. But look, character Y is good and everyone who hates them is bad".

    3. I wish I couldn't mention it because I want to try to judge this game by its own merit, but since the developers and defenders can't shut about it, I have to address it too:
Its disgusting how hard do people try to label anyone who doesn't like the story as bigots, transphobic, homophobic, sexist or whatever.
Having those characters doesn't matter Shouldn't matter if you really want to be inclusive.
What does matter is trying to use them as shields from criticism and to appear good.

    Graphics - 9 / 10
    Story - 1 / 10
    Gameplay - 7 / 10
Side note - it's the most accessible game I've ever seen. I don't have any limiting problems now, but having experienced physical trauma that restricted my ability to play games once i felt what its like to not being able to enjoy games. And some people have it there all life. One thing i want to praise this game is all the options to change controls and stuff to make it playable.

That's why my immense disappointment with the story and the stupid controversy doesn't let me give it a 0/10

Formulaic and didn't address the minor issues with the first game. The clicker encounters are drawn out and the "puzzles" are too simplistic. The story is not engaging at all, which was the biggest strength of part 1. Huge disappointment.

Combat has improved since the first game. The addition of a dodge is so helpful and the stealth is amazing. The use of tall grass to sneak around, sneaking around a corner as an enemy looks over the top of the table, it's all extremely intense. Many moments have your heart racing and after triggering an enemy and just surviving a frenetic fight, I leaped to my fight and punched the air.

The environments are amazing. They allow you so many different ways to handle a fight or avoid the fight altogether.

The story is bleak but engaging and pretty full on. Maybe skip this if you have depression issues.

My only downsides so far is that I've encountered a couple of bugs. Nothing game breaking. The loot searching can get tiresome as well but that's like any other survival horror and it adds to the intensity.

Last of Us was one of my all time favourite games. This one is at least as good, possibly better than the first. Overall would highly recommend.

    THE BAD:
-Very HEAVY with political agenda related to LGBTQ and FEMINISM. Too much SJW stuffs that are being forcefully slammed onto players' faces.
-Really MESSY in terms of pacing and story direction; it jumbles in and out with flashbacks, the flashbacks are ALL OVER the place.
-Unrewarding ending, no joy and satisfaction felt after done 30+hours playing it.

    THE CONCLUSION:
-The game could be (kinda?) saved actually if Neil Druckmann made the game into THREE DIFFERENT STORY MODES rather than combining Ellie's and Abby's stories altogether in one single playthrough. So the first playthrough would be "Ellie's Story", the second playthrough would be "Abby's Story", and the final playthrough would be "Redemption", or "Conclusion".
-The game is only worth for RENTING, not buying. If you haven't play the 1st TLOU and just want to straight dive in to TLOU 2, then just RENT IT, don't buy it.
-If you collect video games, and you want to add TLOU Part 2 to your collection, be my guest, but it's cheaper to buy the SECOND HAND one. It's not worth the full price.

It is an emotionally brutal yet utterly captivating experience, especially if you played part 1. Days after finishing the game, I am still processing a mess of deep feelings that this game artfully evoked in me. There are moments in this game that are designed to make you angry and emotionally frustrated. I strongly encourage players to keep playing and push through those moments. They have an important purpose. And they are balanced by heartwarming moments of joy and love that you don't want to miss. I also recommend that, upon completing the game, you reflect deeply upon what you feel. Personally, I found myself still projecting the emotional state of characters I played, and I was experiencing the same internal conflict and difficulty of letting go. These feelings were far stronger than anything I have ever felt from any other story in any media. I believe this is a result of the genius of Naughty Dog's style of interactive storytelling. In a movie or a book, I often sympathize with characters. But in The Last of Us Part II, I find myself deeply empathizing with playable characters. It has been a revelatory experience. Expand

Most professional reviewers seem to be rubber stamping perfect scores because it is the popular thing to do. Having said that this is my final thoughts. The way I see it is like this. 1. The user scores are not the work of haters alone. 2. Review scores shouldn’t mean anything to anyone. You should judge the game yourself personally and make a decision on whether you like it or not. 3. PlayStation fans and TLoU fans have a lot to do with that user score. 4. The user score will probably get worse. 5. Obviously, some (a lot) major professional reviewers simply rubber stamped a perfect score just because. 6. I know all the leaks and know what happens.
