This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is disappointing. It can hardly even be called The Last of Us "Part II" because it has nothing to do with the first game. Part 2 at the very minimum should have involved finding the cure still, and involved Joel. In the first game Joel murdered the fireflies to save Ellie, and lied to her. Everyone expected a continuation of that storyline and how long it would've been kept secret, and how they would have dealt with the rest of the fireflies now.

The characters personalities, looks, and cautiousness from the first game has been removed. Joel trusts a bunch of strangers for no reason and walks into a room surrounded by them with Ellie. He's suddenly turned into a gullible fool and killed early on. The Last of Us was made popular by this character and maybe in a TV show or something longer it would be ok to kill him, but here it makes no sense.

Also... playing large amounts of the game as 2 characters. Especially as Abby who is a very unlikable character. There is nothing positive about her, and she has nothing special or meaningful to accomplish in the entire game. Instead of the cure and accomplishing something important in the apocalypse, it turns into a boring 2 way revenge story. Another thing with Abby is she is somehow the only muscular shredded girl in the post apocalypse... Unless they have steroids and large amounts of protein, it's just not possible. I'm not being sexist, it's just simply obvious and out of place.

The only positive I can point out in this game is the graphics. They're impressive, and I'm a fan of snowy environments which they made look great. I still can't give this game a better score because of that though, everything else is just a mess.

Overall, this game does not make sense and I can't consider it canon in my book. I'll remember the first game and never look at this ever again and try my best to forget this complete failure of a sequel.

the game is very good in terms of graphics, atmosphere, gameplay, but the story is horrid and uninteresting, the character of abby is horible and cannot be empathized and the worst part is where they make you fight ellie, and the end It is disappointing and unsatisfactory as ellie lets abby out.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics are very good, however, just like any other game, graphics will not uphold a game if the gameplay and story are not good. The gameplay is similar to the first Last of Us game, and due to certain elements, the gameplay clashes with the storytelling, and thus the player loses immersion. And at times the motivation to keep playing

What completely ruins the game is the nonsensical story and what they did to the characters.
Joel, the protagonist of the first Last of Us is killed off within a few hours and is left as nothing more than a flashback character to refer to when needed to push the narrative. Everything he managed to achieve from his decisions are now thrown away in this game.

Ellie as a playable character has many times clashed against the story's narrative. At times murdering enemies left and right through whatever tactics during the game, and yet becomes almost traumatized from one particular murder. At the end of the game, she has the opportunity to kill Abby in a final fight and yet somehow lets her go. The murderer of her foster father. And she loses everything in the end and becomes alone like she feared in the first Last of Us game.

Abby by far as a playable character is the most hated due to many reasons. Her character design is the symbol of how SJW agenda wishes for female characters to look and act. A somewhat masculine female face on a masculine male-like body where no female sexuality can be seen. She does not even look like a girl and more like a male character. Her character is immediately hated due to the fact that she herself is the murderer of Joel. The story as the game progresses tries to shed some light on her character but it barely makes her less hated. Her sex scene is cringe-inducing and her character model makes it look like 2 guys are doing the deed with each other. Due to the her first act in the first few hours, players do not wish to emphasize with Abby, they will hate her, and they will not listen to why she did things. Her existence in the game isn't justified besides the weak premise of her own revenge, and it was achieved at the first few hours of the game.

There are other questionable decisions done like one character having her character model look less sexualized by reducing her breast size compared to her real-life counterpart. And other such things that make the trailers from before nothing but lies.

This game is a bait and switch, where the trailers lead us to believe that we would get another story about Joel and Ellie and their relationship as they deal with the theme of revenge. Instead, what we get is very poor storytelling similar to The Last Jedi and Terminator: Dark Fate where they kill off a beloved character for the sake of pushing the new "protagonist." All for the sake of SUBVERTING EXPECTATIONS.

Inclusion is not bad, but it becomes bad when forced like how it was in this game. There were certain points in the game where this doesn't make sense to add. One such character proclaims being a different gender would have been fine in any other setting than a world that has already faced an apocalypse and even using it as a point for a story bit.

Due to the ego of Neil Druckmann and interference from the "feminist activist" Anita Sarkeesian, the Last of Us 2 is a sequel that does not deserve to exist or considered even remotely canon to the Last of Us series.

The leaks that came out months prior to the game's release were all true.

To all who have yet to get the Last of Us 2. Save your money. If you were a fan of the first Last of Us, you will not like this game whatsoever. The game's storytelling is filled with plotholes, the characters are inconsistent and breaks immersion. It is a slap to the face to fans, it is a spit in the face of fans, it is a disservice to the characters we grew to love very much from the first Last of Us. All for the sake of meaningless subversion of expectations and SJW agenda pushing.

Naughty Dog as it is, currently does not deserve any money for this game. Vote with your wallets and do not buy this game.

The Last of Us was my favorite game of all time. I played through the campaign 3 times. To say I am disappointed with this sequel is a massive understatement. I can't believe they did this to this game. Should be ashamed of themselves. Just terrible. And wow have the left wing games "journalists" been exposed over this one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To put things in context I want to clarify two things up-front: 1. I absolutely loved TLOUS. An amazingly amazing adventure. Fabulous characters. Easily in my top 5 of the greatest games of alm time. 2. I don't care about the LGBTQ agenda. I know it's been unnecessarily pushed in this opus, but this didn't discourage me from looking forward to playing the game. Alright, I am going to be as concise as possible. I have created an account specifically to express my opinion and my absolute disgust over what happened. When I saw the leaks a couple of months ago I couldn't believe my eyes, so I canceled my preorder and waited for a review w/ spoilers before making a decision on how I should use my $62 (taxes man).

Verdict: Neil Druckmann is a psychopath. This individual has a serious neurological/psychological problem. Not only he does my boy Joel dirty and makes my girl Ellie miserable, but his ultimate goal is to make you feel bad about everything you do. Making you feel guilty, ashamed, humiliated and desperate. For example when he forces you to kill pets, or when he makes you kill a pregnant woman (the pregnancy thing appeared three times btw), or when he makes Ellie want to play guitar with two missing fingers...this is pure degeneracy at this point. Games are supposed to make you go through a lot of emotions, including bad ones, but what Druckmann and Gross (name suits her like a glove) make you do is pure perversion. They should never touch a scenario again. Druckmann when he has full control over a script is dangerous.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of The worst sequels I've ever seen.

Historywise is a complete failure, not even at the shadow of the masterpiece of the original game. Dull characters that you could replace with anybody else; the original cast seem like a bunch of bad made AU characters made in a fanfiction and don't even made me talk about the horrible ending with the typical and cliché "violence bad, revenge bad" with Ellie just completely pardoning a literal murderer of not only his paternal figure but countless innocent people; makes absolutely zero sense, and makes the player feel like he wasted his time and money, (Which is clearly what happened) and leaving him a very bad taste. Now, the famous SJW agenda is in this game. It's clearly plot Armour and centerism in Abby and that DISGUSTING sexual scene (God, that's just awful, considering that one of the characters is literally modeled after Neil) makes this game seem like a spit on the fans and Neil making a game for himself.

Game play wise, it seems like it's just the same as the original, just better animation and graphics with less puzzles and more action. (Doesn't seems like a great improvement in my opinion.)

Conclusion: Awful made sequel that is so bad, it's better as a fanfiction history and a golf game than a properly made AAA game, lol.

Don't waste 60 bucks on this mess and please get a an actual good game that don't require the need to buy critics on the internet to succeed.

I loved the Last of Us Part I and played through it a few different times so I figured the outrage over Part II must be exaggerated. I largely dismissed reviews and went into this game with an open mind. I loved the Last of Us Part I and played through it a few different times so I figured the outrage over Part II must be exaggerated. It isn't (and I'm gay so no, it has nothing to do with gay characters as some defenders of this game are bizarrely claiming to dismiss accurate criticism).

I'll start with the good. The graphics. True to the first, the graphics are amazing. That's why I gave the game a point...and it's literally the only positive I can find.

Now to the substance (or lack thereof). The storyline is absolute garbage. I'm going to try to avoid spoilers (they can easily be found elsewhere), so to put it generally, characters from the first game are like completely different people. In the first they were hardened, intelligent, cautious and had depth. In Part II, they're completely superficial and the writers seemed more interested in changing the characters to fit a storyline rather than creating a storyline to fit the characters.

New characters are completely unlikeable and uninteresting. It's not "Oh I don't like this mean character, I want everyone to be sweet and nice and without conflict!" It's more like, "What is this nonsense? Why is this character so forced? Who wrote this trash?"

There are several instances throughout the story that are purely for shock value and emotional impact. That would be completely fine if they had any depth or substance but it just comes off as gimmicky and desperate. There's less actual emotional impact and more just eye rolling at how ridiculous and out of place it is. There are multiple massive plot holes that are never explained and a very bizarre ending that makes no sense.

When I first played through Part I, I couldn't put it down and had to know how it ended. Part II, I had to force myself to finish and was just bored, unsatisfied and annoyed by the end.

I'm honestly baffled as to what the creators were trying to do here. It's like they created a game for people who live on twitter rather than their actual paying customers and fans of the first game. I really feel like an idiot for having wasted money on this.

I'm even more baffled at all the positive reception by "critics" and "journalists." I get that taste is subjective and if someone likes this game that's perfectly fine, but really, the storyline is just so objectively bad, superficial and lowbrow. I really question the motivations of someone who could give this a 90-100 score, especially if they've already played/are a fan of Part I.

Pay attention to user reviews before you waste your money on this game. The ridiculous narrative that they're all "fake" is simply untrue. The game really is that bad.

Druckman manipulated the entire situation. By killing Joel early on - he knew this would be the reaction. To Druckman - ANY online press - good or bad - is free marketing for his product.

Let’s put the joke back on Druckman and win the war. Deny him what he wants by discouraging anyone from buying it and getting a full refund for it if you’ve bought it already. That alone tells Naughty Dog exactly what you think of their game. Deprive them of publicity and down down sales profits. Sink the ship

They spent 7 years crafting this sick trick. Let’s reverse it by forcing Druckman to publicly admit it’s a financial failure that backfired.

The reality is - Druckman isn’t our friend. He only wants your money and attention NOT your thoughts on the game. His arrogance will quickly turn to despair when Naughty Dog’s bank account drains from all the refunds and lack of profit
