Gameplay is good compare to the TLOU but not that good, shooting was bad than RDR2, I think the graphic is reach the cap, bla bla bla. Right, The plot just ruined everything, And they discriminate Asian, Even they're stand up for LGBTQ. Universal love? GOTY? Huh.

I mean the beginning definitely enraged me, but at the same time of u kept that mindset as you were playing the narrative was pretty strong then. You can understand and sympathize with the distances both parties had to go through. The ending was emotional and sucky, but I liked it. Overall this game **** I like the combat the story was pretty good. I don’t know where else they could go with this game. I give it a thumb and to fingers up. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having just completed TLOU2 I did enjoy the game.
Does it compare to the first one?
No. Because it is a COMPLETELY different story. So stop acting like its going to be a continuation of that original story arc. Because it is not. And you will be disappointed if that's what you think this is.

That said, MAN it was a journey. A complete emotional rollercoaster. But stick with it, even if you don't want to.
    I went from:-
    -Hate
    -Bleak depressed
    -To LOVING the game
(And a bit controversial, liking all the characters, even Abby)
The game makes you question hate. It makes you examine hate. It makes you look at hate square in the eyes and demonstrates that it achieves nothing but destruction and chaos. Nobody wins with hate. In fact you can stand to lose everything.

    Game play:-
Graphics are truly amazing. The scenery is outstanding. The facial expressions on the characters pull you in. The infected are WAY more cunning. And I officially HATE stalkers. Shamblers, just burn them to death, but stalkers -! Maaaann I hated those.

The physical controlling of the characters is good as well. I dropped prone SO much. And the fact you can craft whilst being prone is a nice touch too. I am not the slickest player, when it comes to combat. So I ran away alot! But whilst engaging in combat situations, the mechanics felt smooth and the flow was good.

I also liked the fact that you couldn't one shot kill the clickers/runners with a molotov anymore. They leapt back from the flames rather than stupidly running into them. Although a half burnt clicker is very disturbing to stealth kill.....

There is SO much to explore. When I first started playing I felt overwhelmed with the scope of play. And the fact that I was truly terrified of the infected, and the new evolution versions, made me reluctant to enter buildings a bit. So a second play through is needed. FOR SURE.

I also reached the point where trying to gun my way through everyone was exhausting. So stealth and sneaking past people was the way ahead for me. Tricky, and some close calls, but i managed. In order to explore fully next time, I will possibly have to go scorched earth policy. But then it will be for exploration, rather than story line.

    Controversy:-
Abby is NOT trans. Lev IS trans.
Unless Abby has managed to find a stash of hormone pills, she MAGICALLY doesn't have a beard, or a deep voice, or an Adams apple. It is actually possible for women to work out to such an extent that they develop pecs and lose their breasts. She is determined to take Joel out, and therefore has trained accordingly.
Ellie has always been gay. We see this in the DLC left behind. This should not have been a surprise to anyone at all. And If you were going on a journey, you would also take your SO with you.

    In summary:-
Yes this is a good game. But it is NOT a feel good game. The whole point of the first game was to deliver the cure for mankind to the fireflies. To save the world. And then suddenly, Joel couldn't do it. (Can I also point out that no one woke Ellie up to ASK her opinion) but by saving Ellie, he condemns the world.
This installment, gets us to look at that, and how the world has divided itself in order to make sense or survive. This is a story about hate and revenge. And it MAKES you look at ALL sides of the argument. Ellie, Wolf or Seraphite. It is not an easy pill to swallow. And there are some actions you do NOT want to take. But ultimately you complete this section of the journey. Which leaves the end feeling, short.

Because, and this is to anyone else whose finished it, doesn't it feel like #TheLastofUsPart2 is the middle book in the series & we're waiting on the final installment? So come on Naughty Dog...
    Bring on the fireflies

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For me, this game was a total disappointment from all points of view.
    ALL (apart from the graphics).
The story is horrible and forced to be as gloomy as possible (and cringe), the characters are flat and stupid (seriously, Abby, kill or capture ellie? Why did you keep her alive? For yet another "revenge" cliché? And why didn't ellie kill Abby? WHY!?!?), Joel is killed like a dog and in a fairly ... stupid way (Abby: "What's your name, the guy who saved me from certain death?" Joel: "Joel" Abby: -shots him without asking for more, he could easily be another Joel, and given the reaction he should have recognized him at first glance and not just before the "golf game" but ok-) and the rest of the plot is a batman's joke: it's very dark but makes you laugh.
The gameplay is stale, almost superimposable on the first (apart from dodging) and is extremely linear, worse than a tunnel.
Various cards are played to make you feel guilty (like killing a dog or a pregnant woman ... this 3 times, and one of them has twins ... triple killing I suppose) or more likely, to hide the AI of enemies that at normal levels is set to "decerebrate" or other **** like "stealth" (it seems that the enemies are nearsighted and deaf, without glasses and earphones). At least the game tries to be more "innovative" with a trans and lesbians ... but they did it so badly that it is almost offensive to real trans and lesbians. Not because they are Trans or lesbians, but as silly as those characters are and "THAT SEX SCENE IS OK BUT NO 2D **** but I also said it before that they don't have a brain, I'm repeating myself , but soon I conclude, don't worry.
If it hadn't been The last of us 2 (or rather, The last game from us 2) I wouldn't have given it 0, at most 4, but since one of the worst games of 2020 is the sequel to one of the best games ever and that for which I waited 7 years, it deserves the grave and oblivion.

A pointless 30 hour journey filled with forced oxymoronic narrative choices that comes off as confused and/or clueless at best, tonedeaf and/ or stupid at worst.

The visual presentation is nothing short of stellar and a few areas being so open invites a pseudo open world like feel in an otherwise linear game, allowing for enough freedom for the savvy explorers.

Audio design may be hit or miss but ND nailed it for the most part.

That however is the end of the good....

The game meanders with one too many "dead ends" and shifting perspectives that attempts to make players empathize with the cast and yet achieved nothing as it is an impossible task to begin with. And all of it culminates to the most unsatisfying and pathetically hypocritical writing I've ever experienced out of any of ND's narrative driven outings.

If you're here looking for a strong character driven and sensible narrative ala the 1st game, then look elsewhere. The causality in this game's narrative is as irrational as it is illogical to the point of stupidity and pointlessness.

If you're into the gameplay then I can see a good 3 or so playthroughs with the new game plus option ls total before you get bored of it all or annoyed. Accessibility options are there for those inclined for a more streamlined experience, which is a bonus I suppose.

All in all, if you're a fan of the original who are invested in the world building and characters, this game will come off as a spit to your face and a waste of 30 hours of your life. If you're a casual fan that are in it for the gameplay then have fun.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. *The game has phenomenal graphics for the enviroment and models. However thats the only positive I can think about this game... maybe the guitar section too.
*The gameplay is similar to the first game, with barely any improvements but improvements none the less
*The story is like a badly written fanfiction of a person who has barely watched 2 hours of the originals story. The characters in it make the dumbest of choices, the main cast should have died a hudred times due to their choices alone but oh well, deus-ex stupidity is a real thing.

2/10 just for the graphics and the slightly improved gameplay.

    Spoilery rant below

The story sucks, every character from the previous game has been dumbed down to a degree that u can comfortably say they are from some bizarro universe, the ending is anti-climactic. The story is trying too hard to force on us that only Ellie's revenge, who's at this point is the most justified is bad. Abby who's from start to finish the most unikeable character in the game is forced on us, after she has killed the most beloved character in the game and they try so hard to justify her, to make her likeable but all they do is make you hate her more. They also really tried to make Ellie unlikeable in this game, they took everything from her. She goes on a rampage to kill Abby, kills all of Abby's friends, gets one of her good friends killed, goes through hell and back just to say "Fk it" and doesn't kill the only person who actually mattered to her revenge since she was the one that killed Joel.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I managed to get into the game unspoiled. And with the outcry after the leaks I suspected that Joel or Ellie gonna die at the end.

The first moments and flashbacks of Ellie and Joel made me tear up. I have waited so long to see more of them and it was wonderful to see them together and play through their memory sequences. It warmed my heart.

The little bit of hope that we might get more of a Ellie and Joel adventure through the whole game were crushed when we had to witness Joel's brutal death.

Sure Abby was driven by revenge but the brutality was what made me wonder what Joel must have done to deserve that. I was really curious to find out what terrible thing he did.
But later we learn that he killed Abby's father. Joel did not beat him to a pulp nor tortured him, he just shot him. So it felt unnecessary to kill Joel like this, I guess they did it to give Ellie (and make the player feel) the kind of anger, hate and revenge seeking that leads Ellie to a very dark place in the end.

The gameplay is great, the environment is beautiful and sometimes creepy, the infected are more scary and I was very often stressed (in a good way) by all the run-for-your-life situations when you got chased by a horde.

I enjoyed Ellie's gameplay most of the time. I cared for Ellie. And I hoped that she will get revenge and find piece. But I also hoped that we would get more than the usual protag kills antagonist at the end.

And when the game switched from Ellie's POV to Abby's and we started to play as Abby I was at first not interested to play through her part. I usually dislike it a lot when I'm forced to play as someone else instead of the protag. But the longer I played with Abby the more I started to like her. And care for her.

You get to play as her for a good while and learn about the fight her group, the WLF has with another group called the scars (seraphites).

After an incident she groups up with two young teens from the Seraphites after they saved her life. The siblings (Yara and Lev) are outcasts and first they are just working together to get out of a life-threatening situation and they part ways after making it out alive. But after leaving the kids, later Abby can't get them out of her head and she goes back to check on them. This is were I started to like her more n more. She turns from a bad to a god person, and puts her own life and place in the WLF into jeopardy to make sure the kids are safe.

The game manages to make you see both, Ellie's and Abby's side of opinion and the further the story went I started to side with Abby more n more.

And here starts where I began to dislike parts of how they went on.

Ellie's path to the dark side makes her unlikable, she was almost killed by Abby but Abby spared hers and Dina's life due to Lev asking her to stop.
The game skips to a year later and we see Ellie has a wonderful life with her girlfriend in a remote farm house.

It's the kids that help Abby become a better person and after having lost every single one of her friends except Lev, Abby and Lev travel to California in hope to find the fireflies where they get captured by some bad slavery group.

Ellie meanwhile can't find piece even tho everyone of the people she wanted to see dead was dead except Abby. Ellie leaves Dina to seek revenge again even though Dina pleads her to forget about Abby and move on.

Playing as Ellie again who managed to track down Abby and Lev and after finding them, almost dead, tied to a cross she feels pity and frees Abby but before she let them go she is battling with herself and loses the intern battle.
She doesn't let Abby and Lev go and wants to fight but Abby refuses to, so Ellie turns so dark that she threatens to kill a defenseless Lev if Abby doesn't fight her.

There was nothing in this game that left me unmotivated except this Ellie vs Abby battle. I didn't wanted to slice Abby with my knife while Abby only had her fists. I didn't wanted to fight Abby at all.

I was not able to connect to this dark side of Ellie. I was fighting with myself to press the QTE when Abby was pleading to stop, I felt sick in my stomach when Ellie drowned Abby and pleaded that she would let go of her. In the end she did and Abby was free to leave with Lev.

Abby deserved her revenge altough the way she took it out was unnecessary. She went through a horrible time on this slavery farm and she was broken when Ellie found and freed her. Abby lost everyone while Ellie still had her people in Jackson, had a girlfriend and a good life after she was spared by Abby in Seattle.

I had prefeered an ending where both Abby and Ellie would have to fight side by side to get out of a life-threatening situation and come to terms and being able to forgive each other instead of how this game ended.

While this game was Ellie's story, half through this game I felt this was Abby's story and both deserved a better ending than what we got.

I can totally see what Naugthy Dog was going for with this one, they wanted the players to sympathize with the killer of Joel but unfortunately they completely failed here. Abby is a trash-tier character that nobody likes and no matter what nobody will ever sympathize with her. I get it that Joel is also an obsessive maniac but we understand why and what lead to that. We can sympathize with Joel even some of his realy horrible decisions and actions because it's a well developed character. Abby isn't. Abby is just **** horrible and she pretty much single handedly ruined the game.

Let's get it out of the way the story is not even close to the original with emotional impact and this is down to poorly written characters who make stupid decisions. But for someone who has been gaming since the 80s no games story has come close to the original for me personally so maybe my expectations were far too high in regards to how I wanted Joel's story to end. If you just look at the game on its graphics, sound, gameplay etc... its an amazing game that is a great send off to the ps4 console even if not to Joel and Ellie. Expand

The game seemed amazing at first and even Joel's death didn't make me dislike the game because I thought like many others that the devs would have utilised his death to make an amazing revenge story(We was wrong). Later on you play as Abby, the killer of Joel, for quite a significant amount of time. This completely made me lose interest in the games story because I didnt care for Abby as a character at all really. Later on I realised that Joel was dropped into scenes in the trailer, where in the game he wasn't even in them scenes and he was replaced by other characters. Naughty Dog has really flopped with this one and I think they should pull the game from stores and do the fans right by changing the story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's sad to see how many of these reviews are people just review-bombing the game. I find it hard to believe so many people managed to finish a 20 hour game in less than a day. Don't get me wrong, there are criticisms to be made with the game, but most of them are hidden behind 0/10 reviews submitted by people that haven't even finished the game, have only reached a certain point, and even some by people who don't have the game and only read the leaks. If you take a look at the reviews on the Last Of Us 2's store page, where you actually have to own the game to review, you can see a major difference.

Overall, I found the experience of Last of Us 2 enjoyable. The graphics were gorgeous, and was every bit the technical masterpiece that we had been promised. It looked beautiful and ran smoothly, even on the original PS4. The mocap technology was insane, and the acting on show here was immersive. I really have to give credit to the actors here, they did such a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life.

The gameplay was similar to the first game, mostly stealth mixed with tense moments and adrenaline filled combat. The infected and clickers are even more terrifying than usual, and the game does a good job of getting your heart going with a good mix of scares and tension. The combat animations have been improved, which makes the combat feel more fluid and overall more enjoyable.

As for the story... I have mixed feelings on this one, but that doesn't mean the story was bad. Certainly not to warrant a 0/10. Obviously, after Joel was killed, I was left feeling angry and saddened as most were. From that point, I could tell the story was going to be one of revenge. However, the story then begins to split off a bit in an attempt to change your perspective, which I think was a bit of a hit and miss for some. At first, I wasn't a fan of the change, but it kept me invested in the story and near the end, I didn't know how I was feeling. Once I had reached the ending, i was left feeling kind of unsatisfied and lost. A part of me feels like Naughty Dog wanted to leave players feeling that way. I think they made a big risk that for some, was not well received.

However, what it all comes down to is whether I think the experience I got from The Last Of Us 2 was worth spending my money on. For me, yes it was. Did the game managed to evoke emotions out of me? Yes. Did it give me happy moments? Sad Moments? Heart wrenching moments? Moments that made me question myself? Question the characters and their motives? Made me disgusted with myself? Yes to all. And to me, that's what makes a good story, especially a Naughty Dog story.
I was glad to have enjoyed this experience, and I think the ending is one that I need to sit on for a while to see how I truly feel.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So , i am going to try and review the game the best i can and how i take it in my head..
So first off , Joel's death wasn't done right , no matter the kind of reason you think you have , it doesn't justify , the Devs want us to see that the Last of Us World is a cruel world and anyone can die in a heartbeat , just like that..
The problem is , we already know how cruel the world is , with the likes of character like Tess/Sam/Henry we get the world ins't sunshines and rainbows , it's a Post-Apocalypic world...
The First Part of the game was actually good , taking Joel's death out obviously , playing with Ellie was a good experience , the Second Part not so much..Everyone has the right for revenge , no matter if it's Ellie or Abby or anyother character , Revenge isn't just for the main characters of course , but Abby dind't try to understand wether the reason for her revenge was what's she thought , she could've first ask the reason for her Father's death but yeah!
So about develpmente , pretty lacking , Ellie's develpment was actually backwards , Abby's develpment is non-existent and even tho i didn't actually hate playing with her , i felt it wasn't natural and necessary , when ever i played with her , just wanted to switch back to Ellie.
Gameplay , for all people that are saying that the gameplay was stucked in the first one stop being a dick , that just a reason for you to hate on every aspect of the game , the gameplay is good and is solid , the jump button i don't think it's necessary , but the dodging is a nice feature , since in the Original you had just to eat everything thrown at you!
Sound was gorgeous too , but one thing that dissapointed me was the soundtrack , compared to TLOU , this Soundtrack lacks a lot in emotion in my Opinion.
The ending , now there is things that made the ending have sense and things it did not..
Ellie was tired already , Ellie didn't had any Will left to fight for , literally she killed to many people (One of the reasons that both makes and doesn't make sense IMO) so she was fed up with all of that , she didn't want more blood on her hands , but in the same aspect killing all those people to just let the main one go ins't right either , plus it was basically everything in vain , losing Dina/JJ , losing her fingers , losing her Mind , her peace..All of that seemed pointless , and you can even arguably make a reason and ask:"Why even doing in the first place if you're not gonna finish it"
Overall there was some really good stuff , like the Joel/Ellie flashbacks , especially the Swimming and the spaceship scenes , pretty magical and the main core to what Joel and Ellie storie was in The Last of Us..
Now , i won't say the game is pure garbage , because it ain't , the Story is badly written , i could make a better one myself..
    Overall:

    Pros:
    Gameplay
    Sound
    Portrayal of the World
    Graphics
    Scenery

    Cons:
    unappealing characters
Game is to long for what is trying to achieve (could do it in about 70-80% of what it has)
    Story is terrible written
The core of what the game is about is only present in a few scenes

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
