Not gonna lie, when I completed The Last of Us back on PS3, never thought it was gonna have a sequel, like, what would it be the point or goal to achieve for Ellie and Joel? In my opinion, they destroyed the whole script with the ending in the first game so that's why I didn't expect a new game to be released.
Joel was given a mission which was to take care of Ellie and bring her to the Fireflies' camp so they could make a vaccine wit her blood. During their journey they go through a lot of terrible moments, losses and they struggle to survive in order to achieve the goal set for Marlene. Yes, Joel and Ellie make bonds with each other which is a crucial thing for the game. At the end, Joel's decission was the most important plot twist. He went to another direction to the one he was supposed to. He refuse to give Ellie to the fireflies because she would die, he was selfish, yeah. But nobody cared because people understood him, because I believe we all would probably do the same he did, he started seeing Ellie as his daughter and what he did was "right", Joel was a hero in our eyes.
But, does that make him a real heroe? In a videogame, probably, because it is so easy to be in the character's shoes. In real life, I bet if we took Joel's path we would be hated and Naughty Dog knows that. Just imagine, same situation as Joel and Ellie went through but applied in this pandemic situation that we are living in (COVID-19). How would you feel knowing that there is one person that has the cure for all this and at the end they just say "no, **** but I can't do this, I can't let this person die to save the humankind, it will be hard for me, those that stand on my way to stop me will be killed." Would you feel ok with their decission knowing that the world will continue with the virus and having in mind that this could have been completely stopped?
I know, one thing happens in a videogame and the other example is based on real life, but , that's what Naughty Dog was aiming to that in The Last of Us and The Last of Us part II, putting a real life context or sensitive situation in a videogame or at least, trying to make it more real-life like.
With all that said, I personally feel The Last of Us part II have brutality from the beggining to the end. One person going for revenge. Revenge people could actually attempt in real life if somebody else took their loved ones' life for personal and selfishness reasons, plus, the fact that the death mentioned could have saved the whole humanity if things were different, but they ain't. It is all about that, perspectives, no one is good or bad it all depends on the eyes of the beholder. I loved it from head to toe, it always makes you question yourself about the good and evil and beyond the meaning you give to every single action took in the game, it gives you the chance to experience it in different point of views. Was basically like going in a rollercoaster of emotions where you could not predict what was gonna be the next thing to happen. You started developing feelings with a character and next thing you know they are gone. I loved those up and downs.
I just wish they would have added more gameplay to explain what happened after Abby encountered Ellie in the theater. Probably they will bring a DLC, who knows?

Gameplay and visual are good, level design doesnt look as cinematic as before with just small pieces and thats what it makes it sometimes boring. Every good thing in the game is hurt by the bad bad story.

One of the most disappointing games in recent memory, hands down. Ellie is downright unlikeable now, and just when the story starts picking up steam, they switch to the other playable character, Abby.
You play a good third of the game in flashbacks and Joel and Ellie are only together for a brief time. The environments are good and there's a LOT of spaces to explore and scavenge

Combat is pretty similar to the first game. Overall, the game is just so-so. The story just kind of killed it for me. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Tengo un profundo amor por Last of Us 1.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

Never in my life have I played a game so blatantly motivated by SJW hysteria whilst simultaneously destroying the memory and reputation of a previous installment. Naughty Dog has just taken a huge dump on its fans and made you pay for it too. As long as Neil Druckmann is behind any future games I will not be buying them, what the hell were you thinking Naughty Dog?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok I finally finished the game
And Here's my thought on playing it

I wasn’t spoiled and i didnt see any leaks
I really dont need to talk about the graphics and gameplay because it was too good The graphics at times had me on edge and it did look so real and how everything was detailed so perfectly
The sound design is just as brilliant as it was in the first game.
It deserves a lot of praise
I played the first game and i went through some moments of the game many times on youtube and to be completely honest first game didnt have the crazy set piece events and the overthetop animation and the cinematic feel
It did have a few but not nearly as much as part 2 has but i get that it wasn’t really possible on a game developed in 2013 for the ps3 but that doesnt change the fact that the gameplay in first game was pretty boring and i Couldn't wait to get past it and learn more of the story and i was pretty invested in part 1 that it probably was my favourite game back then
Just because how invested i was in the game
So It's pretty obvious i was gonna buy and play part 2 After spending over 20-25hrs I'd say this game is done brilliantly
Even after looking at people posting about how bad it is
I really didnt let this bother me
Totally ignored all the hate and user score on metacritic and everything Went on with the journey and Here's my final thought It's not like the first game in terms of story telling
And Its not something that many people expected A joel and ellie wholesome story The development in these two characters is what most people expected
And they think it wasnt fulfilled So i get why people are upset over joel's death
But i honestly feel like we got plenty of joel and ellie throughout the story.

Even if joels death was rushed
    Doesn't mean it was terrible
It made sense at least to me
And yes like everyone else i hated abby at first for killing my favourite character
And i honestly didnt wanted to play as abby
But slowly it really got to me and i think most of us wanted to explore the world of last of us
See how far civilisation has come in an apocalyse
And the world is build up
We got more clear view of the world from abby's perspective The whole WLF and Seraphites thing
It surely deserves a lot more praise
And Doesn't deserve all the hate it’s getting for expanding the story and the world I really felt a deep connection between characters
Ellie and dina didnt have the best bond and it was pretty cringey at times
You get to see jesse and ellie
The wholesome flashbacks are really something i loved And what made me like abby as a character is the bond she made with lev and yara the way they went through all the chaos
And how she was portraited to be a good person with a grudge against joel.
well she had a valid reason behind it.
Also We've seen how far ellie pushed herself for serving justice to joel
It also opened up a window at the end of the story which is very interesting.

Things that i disliked about the game.

At first i didnt like the character design of abby but it made a lot of sense later on
And i really feel like the sex scene of abby and owen was unnecessary really.

But those are very minor issues compared to what the game really delivers Just like first game
This one left me on edge
And i cant wait to find out what's next

    • For me It's a 8.5 to 9/10 Definitely one of the best game I've played.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where do i start.... well how about waiting for 7 years to experience Ellie and Joel on another wild ride. How about being an hour into the game and having all of that hope dashed. That's what naughty dog did. It's like Druckmann was watching the walking dead and taking pointers for shock value. "oh wow look at how people responded to Negan!" Shock value story telling is cheap. Am i really supposed to believe Joel, a guy from the first game who runs over a person looking for "help" because he assumes it's an ambush, is like "oh howdy partners, y'all should spend the night at our settlement and stock up on our resources even though I don't even know you? I initially defended this game when the leaks came out because i had trust in Naughty Dog because of past games. Never would i have imagined a company of this calibre would put out such a garbage piece of storytelling. I understand killing Joel his story was winding down anyway, but to do it an hour into the game just deflated the whole entire experience for me. And not only that you have to play as the person who kills Joel for like 8-9 hours. Who made these decisons??? mother of god man it's mind boggling. They also skip any funeral or memorial service for Joel which in honesty could have softened the blow a bit. But i didn't even want to continue but i kept playing anyway. Got to a point where Ellie is caught basically in a hurricane on a boat, nearly drowns so she can go kill a member of the wolves and when she does she almost dies if i remember correctly and Tommy saves her and then they're back at the theater.........do you see where i'm going the story is all over the place it's messy and unnecessary. This game could have cut a bunch of mindless moments where you're just going around and getting dialogue events in the stadium as Abby for instance. At least give it a trophy for getting those events but no it doesn't matter. The ending of the game was also hot garbage. Ellie is living with Dina after nearly dying at the hands of Abby(who you play) and Abby says to her "if i ever see you again i'll kill you." So cut to ellie and dina living in an old home on some farm and Ellie is still feeling the effects of Joel's death to a point where it scares herself and dina. So ellie decides "No i have to finish it." At this point as a player i was like "finally let's go kill her."
Side note lev and yara and their mom seemed like a completely pointless story line altogether because when you go to confront his mother she's already dead at the hands of Lev.
Anyways ellie sets off to California because magically Tommy overheard that Abby was spotted in California. Santa Barbara to be exact, so she goes there rinse repeat, take out "rattlers" and get to Abby. So you finally reach Abby and Lev and her are both tied to their own crucifix basically. So Ellie cuts them down, Abby begs for her life and Ellie is ready to let them go, but she changes her mind and decides to fight Abby to the death. Ellie gets the upper hand and starts drowning Abby and lets her up and lets her go and they sail off into oblivion. Ellie goes back to the farm to discover Dina isn't there. She tries to play guitar but Abby bit off two of ellie's fingers during the fight so now she can't even do that anymore. Ellie leaves the house and the game ends. I've never felt more empty playing a game it was meant to feel a certain way but it backfired miserably. The whole Scar story line seemed wasted as well, we could have discovered they had some crazy beliefs but most of them burned sadly because of incompetent wtiting. Playing this game makes the entire events of the first game seem irrelevant, why not just kill Joel off when he landed on rebar? No, you guys made us like and care for him and took him away for shock value. Graphics and gameplay are good but thats about it

As a veteran player, I was expecting too much about the last of us part 2, but unfortunately I must say that it failed to meet my expectations I have several points of view to criticize, but it is not a secret that the story is the biggest point that was left to duty, it felt full of plot holes that they tried to fill to the end and failed to supply
She feels a little lazy, lacking, with a terrible gap in the plot since (spoiler alert) after Joel's death we all would feel that Ellie would try to take revenge until she succeeded, whatever the cost since in the first information of the game it was it's about revenge, and if they've managed to finish the game I think they've stayed like me, strongly questioned In terms of gameplay, graphics, and soundtrack os perfect but in history (the main attraction) it falls to short In short, obviously it is recommended, but definitely not a priority, as for my tlou 2 I think I will play it again, but it will be a long time for it ... If they have the opportunity, of course they should buy it, but if they are not fans from the franchise, or you can buy other games, you could just as well wait for an offer or just let it go

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
