Don't waste your time on this **** game. The story is total joke like a two year kid just made mess. I wouldn't mind if you play it for gameplay or graphics. Don't waste your money on this one. This is an example that story matters, you can't push crap with glitter on it.

    Story:
Doesn't deserve the hate it gets. From a story perspective, this game is not as strong as its predecessor, and I certainly don't agree with all the decisions made. However, it is still a strong tale that I found quite enjoyable. To some extent, I commend the writers for the risks they took. On the other hand, I think it could have been much more satisfyingly

    Gameplay:
One of -- if not the -- best gameplay experiences I've ever had. I enjoy games pretty casually; rarely getting too absorbed in them. It's unusual for me to think about a game outside of when playing it. However, with The Last of Us Pt. II, I woke up every day anxious to start playing and was happy to spend all my free time with it. It stayed with me when not playing it perhaps more than any game before it (besides CoD when I was a teenager...).

8/10: Thoroughly enjoyed but it could've achieved more.

This game is probably the best title out on PS4, both technically and as a general single player experience.

Unfortunately its user reviews are tainted by a mass of neckbeards who have no idea what they are talking about. The gameplay is sound, it improves a bit the TLOU1 gameplay so while it's nothing revolutionary, it does the job very well. If you liked the first TLOU1 gaemplay

The story is great, the acting is top notch and the character development is amazing.

If I had to find some negative aspect, I think the "third act" of the game was a bit rushed and It could have probably been more satisfying if done with a little less rush.

    Certainly a must have.

    Abby did nothing wrong.
    Druckman lo arruinaste.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a 10. I don't believe that a game can be perfect, but giving The Last of Us anything less would be a disservice to the incredible effort that Naughty Dog put into this masterpiece. From the ridiculously good facial animations to the amazing character interactions, Naughty Dog's incredible attention to detail is staggering. The Last of Us is one of the best survival horror games of all time; it fails to rely solely on gore and shock like many other survival horror games. The Last of Us puts a lot of stock in its characters and story. Almost every scene is rich with character development and further pushes forward the incredible story.

There are annoyances - such as when Ellie or other friendlies get in your way during an intense fight, the fact that your allies are invisible to the enemies, and the entire ending, in general - but, again, nothing can be perfect.

The Last of Us Part 2 is a perfect addition to that list of abominations. is this game closer to something like a 4 than a zero? absolutely, but i am pissed so its a freakin zero Expand

This is a depressing game. Regardless, It has such a creative, innovative, and distinct approach to storytelling, and the gameplay takes huge strides to give the player a realistic and deeply disturbing experience that ties into the messages.
The story is masterful in how it guides the player through the emotions of the characters, only to make you step back and observe the consequences of your actions. The story definitely isn't for everyone, but it's memorable and masterfully stacked up to a conclusion that leaves you thinking for days. As someone who's played it four times since launch, I can confidently say that the more you understand each character and the more time you spend exploring their motives the more you will enjoy it.
When it comes to gameplay, the leap from the first game in animation, 3d sound, enemy dialogue, and atmosphere make it the most harrowing, realistic experience I've ever seen. This is a game best experienced while completely immersed. Enemies will have unique names, and they'll communicate with each other based on the situation. The more immersed you are, the more satisfying the gameplay will be. In addition, the game is capable of making you feel many different kinds of fear, although it's definitely not a horror game. The brutality of the gameplay combined with the story take the player on a distinct emotional journey.
The score is very subtle, but it's also phenomenal not just in terms of composition but also motifs, which reinforce the story and the thoughts of the characters. Props to Gustavo Santaolalla for the emotional story-driven music, and to Mac Quayle for providing the oppressive combat and stealth music that contribute so much to the atmosphere.
Visually, this game is on par with Uncharted 4, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2. It's amazing how well Naughty Dog optimizes the experience, and the visuals are striking and beautiful. The game has been free of bugs for me as well.
The acting is top notch, with incredible performances from Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey, along with the vast supporting cast of characters.
In summary, this is an emotional journey that explores revenge from many perspectives. It goads the player on, only to make them regret their actions later. The story is controversial, but I thought it was incredibly well thought out and executed. The gameplay is tense, realistic, violent, and purposeful. With great music, graphics, performances, and more, this is a truly unforgettable experience.

What stops this from getting a 10 is the story, which by now you heard is very controversial. I'll give the creators props for taking chances and really hitting you in the gut with some genuinely shocking moments. However, the way the story was executed left a lot to be desired. I get what they were going for, but in the end, I was left unsatisfied and not really all that stoked for the next game. The major issue with the story isn't the themes, it's how they were done. The first game was a masterpiece in visual storytelling and character arches that really made you invest. In this game, all subtlety is replaced with beat-you-over-the-head preaching and excessive amounts of cheap storytelling tropes that frankly make you despise every character. By the end, I really didn't care who lived or died, I just wanted it to end. I can't even say if this game has any replay value because I beat it a week after finishing it and have no desire to relive it, a far cry from the epic journey I wanted to go on countless times in the first game. Hopefully, the third installment takes the "less is more" approach. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There is no other word to describe The Last of Us part 2 but masterpiece, this isn’t just a game it is an experience. I am a massive fan of the original and this sequel builds on every aspect of the original. The gameplay - Solid controls and character manoeuvrability, everything works as it should and no frustratingly awkward controls like some 3rd person games. All game mechanics are simply to learn and after a few minutes you will get the hang of them. Ellie can now swim, go prone and jump freely unlike the original game. My only gripe with the gameplay was the boating sections, the controls felt tight and these section albeit small felt tacked on but this is a minor gripe. The graphics- Easily the best this generation, the character models are amazing and you could remove the HUD and think it was a CG movie. The environments are beautifully dirty gritty and realistic. The game never stutters, never loads and the cutscenes blend into gameplay seamlessly. This game pushes the PS4 to its limits. The story - Here is were a lot of people drop off and start to hate on this game. Personally I really loved it, it was epic, massive and you really felt the slog that these characters go through over the course of the few days. All the characters were fully realised and their decisions IMO were justified and I really understood what the game developers were going for with this story. I think people forget that this is a post apocalyptic bleak world full of monsters, horrific people and dredd. How could anyone possibly be able to put themselves in the players shoes and criticise their decisions. Yes this story has LGBT elements and a very minor transgender diversion for one character but all in all it is handled well and fair play to Naughty Dog for adding this much diversity to such a AAA game title. The Good - - an amazing epic story that sucks you in and takes you on a journey with each of the characters. - beautifully fully realised world
    - stunning set pieces - game runs buttery smooth - percent controls The Bad -
    - the game does drag in a few sections - the game rushes a few parts to get you from A to B - Joel doesn’t get as much attention as he deserves.
    - very linear levels, they feel big but there isn’t much room to explore. The Ugly - - the last couple hours feel that they were slightly rushed as the first 90% of the game takes place over 3 days yet the last 10% takes place over 1-2 years yet is glazed over. In conclusion I think everyone should experience TLOU2 it is a superb title and a worthy sequel to the original. The developers took a chance with a bold story they could of easily if rehashed the first game and it would of still sold amazingly but they chose to give us something new.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
