    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having been a big fan of the first game and all other naughty dog titles I have been excited for sometime about this release.

    Upon playing the game all previous plot and character development has been thrown out the window. Disappointed in the direction ND has taken with their IP and especially how they treated their core characters and their relationships in this instalment.

    I have finished the game to give it a fair go but to be honest I won’t be replaying it or recommending it. The only saving grace that didn’t give a score of 0 is the graphics and combat mechanics are great.

    If you want to brutally murder your memory of TLOU1 get this game otherwise save yourself the $60    … Expand

    I've managed to stay relatively leak safe because I was so looking forward to this sequel that I just couldn't care less for the bad publicity it was receiving. But after playing it I cant stand the disappointment.
    Everything looks so amazing, little and secret details in every scene...
    The gameplay its not the best but its improved upon the first game.     What is really lacking is the narrative structure and character relationships. This characters are NOT the same ones from the previous game despite being a direct continuation.     I am nothing short of disappointed. The story is terrible. I am shocked by the critic reviews giving it somewhere in the 90's, Obviously the vast majority of the professional game critics are bought by the studios now. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

    Отвратительный сюжет. Посредственный геймпей. Наплевательское отношение к фанатам. Насильно впихивается лгбт тематика. Все очень плохо. После Tomb Raider 2013 ничего нового не придумали.

    The story was horrific even though the gameplay was barely decent.
    I remember others complaining RDR2 in 2018 was behind the times. I wonder what those people think about TLOU2.
    but the graphics were wonderful and it has great gamplay

    Where to even start? The story is absolutely all over the place and manages to make either every character either unlikable or dead. The story has more holes in it than a football net. The combat has barley progressed in 7 years and most of the areas are visually stunning, the level design doesn't feel nearly as good as the 1st game. It also doesn't deserve reporters brushing off the bombing as disgruntled MRAs either, this game insulted the fanbase and they want their displeasure to be known. To me, I give it a 2 because of everything it undid for LoA1's phenomenal ending. Joel's mastery of survival is reduced to novice mistakes for plot contrivance. There's plot holes galore. Yes, their art team beautifully realizes a post-apocalyptic vision for America as we'd expect from Naughty Dog. I'd say the namely minimalist soundtrack mostly gets the job down, although it isn't quite as memorable as LoA1.

    In the end, it's ridiculous because they say that if you dislike this game, you must be an evil bigot! But no, Naughty Dog, you don't just get to say that as a shield to all criticism and shame on you for insulting our intelligence. No, gaming journalism, your protected games are not above criticism, especially the sequel to a beloved story.    … Expand

    The "Access Media" is at it again, selling their soul by pumping up a game just to stay in Sony's good graces.

    No wonder half their devs quit. The story is TRASH and political. So boring and forced, it actually feels like work.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
