    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So many people think the reviews come from "haters" to **** on Naughty Dog" for the hell of it. But the SJW LGTBQ aspect of the game is perfectly fine. There is no issue there. The story is god awful. After so many years of waiting they bring out a washed out revenge story were Elie, after going on a murderous rampage to avenge Joel, simply decides is not worth it. The gameplay elements are almost basically the same and even thought the graphics are stunning it does not save the player from the disapoinment of the bad writing. Such a shame. Not recommended to buy for 60 USD, wait for a sale.… Expand

Whether it be the terrible working conditions at ND, the bogus widespread DMCA claims of commentators, the forced token pandering story elements, the overplayed 'unexpected therefore amazing' story direction like the Last Jedi, or the generally just plain boring game play; this game has plenty of reasons to avoid it.     One of my all time favorite games. Everything about it was good. Don't listen to all of those 0/10 scores on the first day. You have to actually finish the game, Imagine if you played the first one but never saw the end. There were parts where I considered giving up but I didn't and am super glad. Anyway it's a profound work of art in my opinion.

    As a fan of the first game, I'm sad to say that this game is a terrible sequel, while the graphics were amazing and world design is very well put together, the story couldn't keep me engaged and the characters felt like needless props half the time, to put it in the simplest of terms this whole game is like throwing 2,500$ rims(graphics and world design)on a piece of crap car(story andAs a fan of the first game, I'm sad to say that this game is a terrible sequel, while the graphics were amazing and world design is very well put together, the story couldn't keep me engaged and the characters felt like needless props half the time, to put it in the simplest of terms this whole game is like throwing 2,500$ rims(graphics and world design)on a piece of crap car(story and character development) it stands out sure but if its intended purpose fails to meet its expectations then it's worth nothing at all, I would not recommend this game to anyone who's a fan of the first game or anyone looking for a engaging story, but I will recommend it to ppl looking for a game that will put them to sleep… Expand

    Anyhow, this game is targeted for the audience, and users, not critics, so trust me if you see more negative reviews, for users, then it's really that bad, and vice versa for the critics reviews.

    reading the other comments here on the website I realized that the players were not really prepared for this masterpiece. the last of part 2 expanded the first in all aspects. impeccable graphics, gameplay and facial expressions. best game I've ever played. The history is incredible.

    The best game I’ve played ever, I understand the other critics for the history but I can’t criticize Naughty Dog for this because they took risks in this and made things nobody would dare in videogames industry. Great graphics, great sound and great history that will open new doors in future games. It’s a must play.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Absolutely hated it, unfortunately. For the amount of time they had, they could have come up with a better story. I wanted to give a good review, but I just can’t. When I was playing Abby I just wanted to kill myself, and eventhough the graphics were really cool with some new addictions gameplay-wise, I just, for the life of me, couldn’t enjoy playing. The only part I did enjoy was fighting off the seraphites, they were challenging and they were interesting. Everything else did not make sense. I have a lot of examples but these are just some that pissed me off:
    1. What’s the deal with this game and pregnancy? First there’s Dina but then, there’s this other pregnant lady.... You have a camp full of strong people, eager to fight and ready to do it. In what world would you let (and want btw) a pregnant woman, that is almost giving birth judging by the size of her belly, to go in search of supplies when you know you have enemies nearby also ready to fight? You’re not just putting yourself and your baby in danger, but also your entire crew. It’s just one very unnecessary responsibility.
    2. Why were there flashbacks within flashbacks? That’s just poor storytelling. You could have told the same story without all those in between.
    3. I felt manipulated into liking Abby, which did not work for me. Yes, she likes dogs. Yes, she likes children and she feels bad for dead pregnant women. So what? I do too, but that does not necessarily make me a good person. Nor a likable one.
    4. Ellie. She feels so different. I know she is all grown up now, but she lost all the witiness from the first game. She was so fun to play with and she felt very one dimensional, and angsty (not in a good fun way) in this game.
    5. I knew Joel was going to die. I don’t mind his death being very painful to watch because I knew it would be. I honestly just don’t understand how the events worked out. In the first game, you have a scene where Joel sees a man pretending to be injured. He is in a car with Ellie and without talking to the man or leaving the car, he KNOWS that it is an ambush. How can the same man be so reckless in a house full of armed strangers? I just can’t deal with the illogical character developments. It’s only been 5 years and you’re telling me that he changed so much to start giving out his name to random people knowing full well what he did to the fireflies? It doesn’t make sense to me.
    Honestly, I could spend more time ranting about this game but I am tired. This game made me feel tired and frustrated. I play to enjoy myself and that didnt happen at all. If you wanted a gut wrenching game, then you should have done it correctly. I am sorry but the graphics did not do it for me. Yes they’re gorgeous but when everything is so bleak and so badly told I just can’t bring myself to enjoy it.    … Expand

    Incredible game. I loved everything about it. The story is great and the gameplay is awesome. The story isn’t quite as good as the original but nothing is and the gameplay is so much better.

    Absolute masterpiece.
    Visuals-the greatest graphics alongside with RDR 2 yet
    Gameplay-if you love the first part’s gameplay you will be absolutely impressed.
    The plot-it’s great but not the level of deepness from the first part. Nonetheless one of the best stories in this generation.

Ellie's LGBTness is forced down our throat to "own" any player who disagrees with it and the old white man loved by everyone in his synergy with Ellie is killed off cause he's old and white.     Amazing experience unlike anything I've ever seen in any medium.

    Part 2 greatly improves on gameplay, graphics and fully embraces the horror aspect. The infected are terrifying this time around. The art direction and soundtrack are incredible and the performances of the actors are amazing. This is gameplay wise the best thing I've ever played because of the amazing AI and combat    Amazing experience unlike anything I've ever seen in any medium.

The art direction and soundtrack are incredible and the performances of the actors are amazing. This is gameplay wise the best thing I've ever played because of the amazing AI and combat mechanics. The shootouts are adrenaline fueled thrill rides that completely floored me.

    However, I completely understand why someone wouldn't like the story. Throughout the experience there were moments that made me very uncomfortable. Think about breaking bad and the good seasons of game of thrones only this time around it is you that has to do these harrowing story twists.

    Sometimes Naughty Dog's ambition exceeds their capability. There are some story moments that feel cramped in and are a little underdeveloped.

    Still, I love the direction of the story as a whole and how thematically everything is mirrored. All characters have a distinct personality and I feel like I know more about the smaller side characters in this game than some stereotypical video game protagonist like Nathan Drake or that lady from Control.

    My biggest complaint with this game is how the story is non-linear structured. I completely understand from a story tellers perspective that you want to pull the rug under from someone and create some variety with flashbacks, but this really hurts replay ability for me. I still have to go through these sections that don't really have gameplay in them every time I start up a NG+.

    It would be really cool to see an update that allows you to experience the story in a linear way in NG+:
    (SPOILERS)
    You start out as Abby in the park, leading to the events that Joel narrates in the start of the regular game, you play all the flashback scenes in linear order and the Jackson parts stay exactly the same but in Seattle you would continuously flip back and forth between Ellie and Abby without those flashbacks hurting the pacing in the middle of the game.

    I feel like if this was implemented I would have called it a masterpiece, but it's still amazing and might be the most memorable AAA game I have experienced.    … Expand

    Não existe jogo perfeito mais esse game surpreende muito ! qualidade gráfica insana pra essa geração uma obra prima jogabilidade com realismo absurdo,Narrativa melhor que muitos filmes de tão bem feita tudo se encaixa no momento certo. E tudo que é diferente incomoda muita gente por isso muitas críticas sobre tudo a inveja e o desespero dos Haters.

Игра с крутым, хорошим и поучительным посылом, очень грустно в конце было осознать чего она добилась, но и этим игра хороша что даёт повод расстроится, подумать над ней. Люди ставят плохие отзывы из-за ожиданий, я считаю что игра не заслуживает оценки 3.6, это слишком низко, если была бы в 3 раза больше то это заслуженно.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
