The idiots who rated the game 0/10 never fully played it, never understanding the true reason for the trauma we went through. That being said, the game itself is fun, challenging, and provocative. Gameplay is reactive and tight, and every situation is varied depending on your play style, be it stealthy, combat-heavy, or a mix. Environmental puzzles are abounding, exploration is rewarding, and innovative experiences break up standard gameplay. Long story short, this game is fun as hell. I see what they were trying to tell us storywise, showing that every story has to sides of it, but I wouldn't consider that players would be happy playing 10h as a character who killed our beloved character from the first game, Joel. This part of the game could have been a DLC in my opinion. The ending wasn't that great, I think if there was an option to choose either to kill Abby or let her life would improve the ending 10 times more, I think the only thing that this game is missing on is the value and the attachment to the story and characters of the game, An idea would be if Tommy was killed in front of Joel and Ellie, so Ellie had to track Joel down and help him to his destiny but then choose if Abby would die and take care of the kid or let Abby live and let the kid remember this moment. WE would also like more if we could have seen more of whats Ellies life is all about, The flashbacks were you played as Ellie with Tommy and Joel were so good that if the game had a lot of those and combine together to one story it would have been the greatest story game of 2020.
It isn't easy to make a game and I hate ppl hating on it bc of example pewdiepie didn't like it (Famous Youtuber), This game has a lot of good reviews, but it's overlooked by all the hate from Youtube that some famous Youtubers had made for this game, This game is one of the best-built game in mechanics, graphics, looks, solving puzzles, and well-made games out there, but the story is the part where it really hits this game bad.

Thx for reading; have a nice day :)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us part 2 from a narrative perspective...is a mess. A beautiful mess. This story could have been so much more but due to poor direction and risky decision making by Neill Druckmann the end result simply didn’t quite hit the mark.

By having Abby kill Joel relatively early on in the story it automatically makes her hated by the player. So making said player have to take control of her for 10+ hours was an idiotic decision that frustrated many players( including myself). I feel that this could have been somewhat fixed if the story had been told in a different order. Allow the player to get to know Abby and her connection to Joel before she kills him; that way the player can actually understand to an extent why Abby does what she does. It may not change how you feel about her but at least it gives the player an appreciation for her actions before you have to play as her for half of the entire game. As for Abbys storyline...IT IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT TO THE ENTIRE GAMES PLOT!The Seraphites storyline has no impact on the fights between Ellie and Abby or the ending whatsoever! It’s as if Neill Druckmann came up with two entirely different games and decided to cram them both together. It simply DOESN’T WORK! The games ending was poorly executed as well. I don’t mind that the game has a sad ending as it feels rather poetic. What isn’t poetic is that I had to go through the Santa Barbra portion of the game facing off against ANOTHER group that once again have NO BEARING ON THE OVERALL STORY/ MESSAGE OF THE GAME WHATSOEVER! I wish that this section was cut out from the game as it feels tacked on and only serves as a way for Ellie and Abby to fight again. This could have easily been remedied by having a Seattle day 4 where you play as Ellie still hellbent on killing Abby. Then, have the fight scene take place, Ellie let’s Abby go and then have the game finish with Ellie and Dina at the farm where they can finally be happy. As the game comes to a close, we get to watch the flashback between Joel and Ellie where they somewhat reconcile and just like that... the game ends. That’s just my personal take on how I feel the story should have went but to be honest I would be happier with probably anything other than what we got. As for the characters in the game, I felt little connection or interest in any of the side characters besides the ones established in Part 1 as well as Dina. Jesse is a solid character but his only real character trait is that he is the father of JJ and his only role is to serve as your AI partner while Dina rests. However, despite what I just said, I did have quite an interest in Lev( the seraphite defect). His backstory is quite interesting and despite what many people think of Neill Druckmanns supposed “LGBT agenda”, I feel as though Levs sexuality and how it affects him as well as the others around him is the main thing that made me interested in the seraphite storyline. Don’t get me wrong, it is by no means a bad storyline, it just simply didn’t belong in THIS story! The best part about the plot in my opinion is the flashbacks we get as Ellie. Seeing her go to the dinosaur museum warmed my heart and I had a smile on my face the entire time. Truly a beautiful scene and my personal favourite part of the game. It’s unfortunate however that the best parts about this game are the flashback sequences as Ellie. They really put a lot of time and care into crafting these segments and it sucks that that care is not reflected in the main story.

In terms of gameplay, the game controls similarly to the first TLOU with enough newly added enemy types and gameplay mechanics to keep the formula fresh. Approaching encounters is so much fun because there are so many different ways you can play them. From killing enemy’s silently one by one to going on a shooting spree, it really feels like you are the character as they traverse through the game and I love that. The game from a technical standpoint runs great, the audio is spot on and the graphics are breathtaking. These qualities really make you feel immersed in the experience.

Unfortunately, however, these great qualities can’t save TLOU part 2 from being a game full of waisted potential. I don’t think it deserves all of the mass hate that it has been getting, but I can certainly see why some players have reacted negatively to the game. I hope that TLOU story ends here or if they decide to make a 3rd instalment, that it be centred on entirely different characters or that it be set in the past where we can take control as Joel once again.

Gameplay, it's just like the first game but with a few new mechanics. But what I really like about this is that it puts you in the shoes of who you thought was an ass-wipe. The game length is around 30 hours and almost double the size of the first game. You play as the protagonist and antagonist and the cool thing is, these are interchangeable concepts depending on the characters point of view which is the theme of the narrative. I don't think some players are mature enough for something different, thought provoking, gritty and brutally real.

The game shows actions have consequences and the ending is satisfying as far as character arc and changes go.

No! But here’s my issue. The story is all over the place. It’s almost as if the writers had 3-4 ideas and couldn’t decide on which one to use so they used them all! The last act of the game was completely unnecessary. I think we could have had more Joel/Ellie in the beginning AND then kill him off. People giving this game a 10 are crazy. It seemed like it was going to be a game of the year contender... until the first 2 hours came and went and they killed off joel like an NPC. From that point on it went from GOTY contender to the worst game of the year. The story was incredibly dull and made absolutely no sense. Possibly the worst story I ever experienced. The ending was bitter sweet. Bitter because it was even worse than when they killed joel and sweet because it was thankfully over. Poor storyline: you buy the game for the characters you love and end up with Joel being slaughtered in the first hours and with being forced to play (for hours) as his murder, a character you hate. The game tries hard to push you into liking Abby, but the result is instead just annoying. Had to force myself to reach the end, which is also totally disappointing since you don’t even get the revenge you wanted.

Forced **** topics that strikes as exaggerated beyond any Suspension of disbelief. Almost all the main characters are women or asians, whic is fairly unrealistic. Even as the classical huge/strong human enemy they choose a giant fat woman.. it’s very rare to see two men talking with each other in the whole game. White males are killed and replaced with women and asian, the couple Joel + Ellie wasn’t woke enough so was replaced with Abby + Lev. Finally, not to leave any woke topic behind, we have gay characters, trans characters and so forth. Nothing against that in general, but here everything looks out of context and forced, it looks too much. Left Behind was also including such topics but not in this way and indeed got good ratings.
