Shameful display of character and story ruining. The graphics and gameplay are nothing special compared to other games. The story, being the main part of this game, is a joke and garbage. neil **** definitely thought he would impress anita with this hot garbage. Never purchasing anything from this company again. Would give a negative score if possible.

The game is an offense to fans, as they have completely reversed the characters' personality and conduct in addition to humiliating the protagonists. Shamelessly with ideological and political bias. A total mess.

There were always so many rumours of joel dieing and how it played out was brutal but i could go with it, it built the storey for ellies adventure... so after such a massive shock you are now 100% invested in ellie... so why the f**k break that and go totally off the reservation to play as abby... just baffles me! Stunning game visually, level design, music etc all 10/10!! If it wasn’t for the unbelievably poor writing and story lets this game down! Im now forced to play as the character i have no investment in and would rather see eaten by a clicker! Post completion doesn’t change my mind, the story structure is all over the place, actually sad and disappointing from a developer of the caliber of ND. Expand

Safe to say: it's the best game I played since PS4 release... And I played a lot of games since then...

For me, unlike most people, i liked the beginning and the ending my only problem is how long you had to play as Abby which i didn't care about as much but if that part was shorter i would give the game a 10/10.

Yep, I guess these things happen.

I am sad to say this but I did not like this game, from a technical point of view the game is very good, the tech/art team did a great job and the accessibility options they included should set a precedent for upcoming titles. The gameplay is good, similar to TLOU1, however, I found the plot, the message, and the character development cheap and tiring.

The gameplay is good, similar to TLOU1, however, I found the plot, the message, and the character development cheap and tiring. This game feels awkward and at times even boring, maybe due to poorly developed characters combined with a linear story and repetitive combat scenarios, at least for a 20+ hours journey. Many of the characters dialogues felt disconnected from the multiple shocking events that were presented to the player. In my personal experience, the game tried to push some feelings so hard that they ultimately lost me. In the end, instead of being immersed in the universe, I was more like, oh look here the writers are using these tricks to make me empathize with this one character as opposed to this character who is doing this other thing…there is a lot of plot armor and is hard to ignore. Moreover, there is a new character who basically has a very similar arc than TLOU1, which is ok but this is done in a pushy, rushed way and at least for me it did not work. It is interesting how I went from caring about the people in this universe to being completely disconnected, and now I just don’t care what will happen to them. I think if this were a TV series, that you can leave it on the background while doing some other activity is ok, but as a game that requires almost all of your attention its a waste of time. Maybe the writers were trying to do some kind of ‘social experiment’ because It is hard to believe that no-one pointed out the flaws during the production stages. However, I do not know if having such a polarized reception and making a game to shock and promote hate is something to be proud of.

I loved the story of TLOU1 because I found it fresh compared to other post-apocalyptic worlds (e.g., the walking dead). I think for someone that doesn’t care too much about story and consistency this is just a cliche plot, the gameplay is fine. If TLOU1 has a special place in your heart, I would recommend to not buy this game without reading more about it, because the advertisement is kind of misleading and you can find yourself wasting your free time on an unpleasant experience. I think the best aspect of this game has been its progression from a tragedy to a comedy, the fact that many people overcome this kind of disbelief together and ended up laughing about it and letting it go, better titles will come. In my opinion, this game is to be bought on sale price and a reminder that sometimes preordering may not be the smartest decision.

The story is extremely impactful and emotional, you can feel the pain of the characters just by the facial expression, Ashley, Troy and Laura are just incredible. All the narrative develops from what is going through Ellie’s mind, they try to make the player feel exactly what she feels, and it works perfectly. When she’s angry, you’re angry, when she is anxious, you’re anxious. No beloved characters are disrespected, whoever says that doesn't even tried to have the full experience.
The main idea of the game is the conflict between empathy and the search for survival, with Ellie having to make very complicated choices, similar to Joel in the first game, the parallels of flashbacks with the present makes this evident. But we have to remember that Ellie is not Joel, she’ll try to do the same things that he did without resentment, almost mirroring his actions, but the way she will handle the consequences is what makes this game perfect.
It makes me so sad that this game had so much hateful comments and got review bombed. Maybe if the community weren't so mainstream and it weren't a triple A it could be praised for the masterpiece it is. Just as games like Life is Strange, Detroit, and even the first Last of Us, it is molded by a tremendous narrative and great characters, and maybe some people are just not ready to experience a huge emotional and realistic point of view. Even though I still think that this people didn't played the game or are just finding reasons to dislike the game to support their prejudice. Claiming that this game has poor writing, awful characters, LGBTQ+ propaganda and its made for SJW is such a shallow and terrible statement to do.

I'll not give it blatantly 0 or 1, but believe me - critics are overrated this game. The Last of Us and Left Behind expansion was a shooter game with decent zombie outbreak theme. The Last of Us and Left Behind expansion was a shooter game with decent zombie outbreak theme. There is tons of games out there with that, but what this game did better than those was story telling. It wasn't a masterpiece, unlike most of the people says - the tie between Joel and Ellie developed slowly and once it should be strengthened, it happened instantly. Nothing can be perfect, I know but a masterpiece shouldn't have problems like that - especially when it's main focus is story telling. Aside that, game was just a shooter, with optional stealth if you want. Believe me, there is tons of games does that part even better. There was puzzles, and they were boring because set on moving a platform a lot.

I really tried to avoid spoilers even with the first game, so here's what's about the Part II. Storytelling is awful. Only good thing I say about story is how it's presented and some of the characters are lovable. Aside from that, there is tons of plot-holes, unnatural behaviours, lazy writing and inconsistency. Once you completely finish the game, I think developers want you have a bitter taste but hell, you get a stale taste and say why those people done this? and most likely why critics gave this 10/10? I'll not give any spoilers, but imagine whole story development and character's life choices doesn't even matter in the end. Unlike Part II, the whole story development was key point in the finale of the first game.

Gameplay is almost identical, with smooth improvements and better AI. Sound design? Awesome. Musics, decent enough. Graphics? I expect more tbh, especially from a Sony Exclusive game.

Let's talk about politics, game isn't fully loaded with LGBTQ+ but sometimes the privileges given on "that one" character will bore you. Unlike most of the other people, I played Left Behind and I know Ellie is lesbian. I'm a crossdresser as well, so consider it came from a "non-binary". The problem isn't representing it, the problem is making one character overrated, who represents that culture.

Well, seems like the score I give is only and ONLY for game engineering and like I've said it's not something truly unique. If the main focus is story of the game, it should impact scoring more than other games. 4/5 is for simple, enjoyable gameplay and good voice design. Musics and graphics are not that much of good so they doesn't impact rating for good or bad. Story and character development - literally zero/5.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II.
