    emotionally difficult, beautiful graphics and design, really cool worldbuilding, incredibly fluid and visceral gameplay. Personally, I really liked the story, which I thought was surprising and interesting -- I couldn't decide what I wanted the characters to do, and was burning with adrenaline to see the choices they made -- but it's definitely way *messier* and less perfectly structureemotionally difficult, beautiful graphics and design, really cool worldbuilding, incredibly fluid and visceral gameplay. Personally, I really liked the story, which I thought was surprising and interesting -- I couldn't decide what I wanted the characters to do, and was burning with adrenaline to see the choices they made -- but it's definitely way *messier* and less perfectly structure than the first game. I think it's more interesting and compelling for those complications but I can see how other people would find it at times sloppy or overlong.
    Don't listen to the review bombing -- even if you don't end up liking the story, the gameplay, worldbuilding, modelling, and general design and polish is incredible impressive.
    I'd give it a 9.5/10 but I rounded up.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this game, don’t let anybody tell you otherwise! I liked that in the middle part it gave me the feeling that I hated it. But now 10 minutes after I finished it I am overwhelmed! Not only did they find an excellent way of portraying modern day equality but they did it in a way that wasn’t in your face. It was just there and wether you like it or not you have to deal with it. I liked it a lot. The gameplay, graphics and story are amazing and this truly is the best ps4 game!… Expand

    Its not perfect, I could have done without the target practice 15 hours in, its a little bit bloated at times. But what this game achieves on so many levels will be a point of comparison for all AAA games for years to come. What the narrative does with a simple revenge plot is incredible, and uses the medium of games in ways that no movie ever could.

    The story might not be the one you want, but it's a great story nevertheless. If you have a heart and a brain, this game will move you like no other.

    I ACTUALLY played the game, and im not much of a reviewer, but man was thus fame a rollercoaster of emotions. No game has made me cry so often as this. Gameplay was smooth and swift, the level design was beautifulky done s well as the ambiance. Story wise, did not expect how it went AT ALL. My biggest opinion on what i wouldved changed would be the organization if the flashbacks.     Ignore all the negative reviews. The game and storyline is epic! Twist and turns and completely engaging. Play the first game so you understand the characters. Foks that are upset by the story probably are thinking surface-level and not paying attention to all of the details and underlying character dilemmas throughout the game. LOVE LAST OF US! Cannot wait for the TV Series!

    nos muestra que siempre hay 2 caras de una misma historia, que TLOU no es un juego de héroes y antagonistas, nos muestra lo frágil y humanos que son sus personajes, que todo acto tiene su consecuencia.
    creo que the last of us II, no es fácil de entender, de comprender o incluso de disfrutar, juega de manera sublime con las emociones de sus jugadores. Realmente creo que hay personas que no estaban listas para jugarlo.

The story doesn't play out how I would have wanted it to go (I would have loved more time on the road with Joel and the older Ellie), but considering the direction the writers felt they needed to go, it's a very impressive and gut-wrenching story. I've never been affected emotionally by a game like I was by this one.

    Gameplay wise, it's nothing groundbreaking (save for the animations), but it's very fun and tense. And it's all wrapped up in superlative graphics and sound design.    … Expand

    One of the most emotional experiences that I ever had with a form of entertainment. Congratulations to Naughty Dog for having the courage of creating something so different and evolvent, in a world ruled by clichés. It's amazing how a videogame could awake in me so many emotions in a playtrough, reaching to a conclusion that I wasn't expecting. An experience so complex and deep, that afterOne of the most emotional experiences that I ever had with a form of entertainment. Congratulations to Naughty Dog for having the courage of creating something so different and evolvent, in a world ruled by clichés. It's amazing how a videogame could awake in me so many emotions in a playtrough, reaching to a conclusion that I wasn't expecting. An experience so complex and deep, that after a week I can not stop thinking about this game. Neverthless, it's understable the division of opinions about the game, but it's strongly recommended that you try it before making any kind of opinion. Can't wait for the next game of Naughty Dog.     I have never felt so emotionally engaged in a game before, I highly recommend it, but need to have an open mind and let the story play out, instead of trying to fight it. Brilliant game!!

    Not a 10/10, I would say a 9/10. But since people are so dumb and immature to understand the story, I'll give it a 10/10. I loved the first game, got platinum on it. And the second one is just wonderful and poetic. It is sad to see what Ellie have become and what happened to Joel, but given the ending of the first game, it actually makes a lot of sense, but people are just too dumb toNot a 10/10, I would say a 9/10.     absolute masterpiece, a giant leap in videogame storytelling. the writing is amazing. the graphics & animation is godly. the gameplay has top tier gore and smooth action mechanism that i thoroughly loved. and the sound design has also raised the bar for other companies. this game takes a **** ton of risks and for me personally it pulls off everything (barring the pacing) with nearabsolute masterpiece, a giant leap in videogame storytelling. the writing is amazing. the graphics & animation is godly. the gameplay has top tier gore and smooth action mechanism that i thoroughly loved. and the sound design has also raised the bar for other companies. this game takes a **** ton of risks and for me personally it pulls off everything (barring the pacing) with near perfection. this is the only game that had got me teary eyed and the only piece of fiction that has let me experience a roller-coaster of emotions in such a short time span. couldnʼt give less of a **** about sjw or feminism or religious bs. this review is strictly based on how it made me feel personally and that **** did not get in the way of it one bit. i highly recommend you at least give it a chance instead lf jumping on the homophobic hate bandwagon.… Expand

    Its a very good game. It digs deeper than everyone understands. This game reveals human psichology and does that through the player himselft. Its really more than just a horror action game. And people who didnt understand that and gives a game a bad score. Well what can a I say its a pity.

    When I started this game I was certainly not expecting a philosophical journey into the futility of revenge and the horrors of the cycle of violence— but that’s what I got. A beautiful, heart breaking work of art. Well done Naughty Dog.

    The only problem I can find with this game is that is so far ahead than anything else before it that some people are not ready for it. Of course the game will make you upset, that is the whole point, it's an analysis of hate and its consequences. If after finishing the game you still feel hateful then some part of the message was definitely lost on you.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
