One of the best games that ever created. The gameplay is just great and addictive. I loved the story and I think that’s better than the first one. The graphics are arguably the best that we’ve ever seen on PS4 and the sound’s amazing. Also Gustavo Santaolalla and MAC Quayle made a magnificent soundtrack that fits perfectly well in the game.

Best game I ever played. Every little detail in this game is studied. You will live the entire story from the start to the end with no empty moments and never boring; and it’s a story 3 times longer than part 1.

The gameplay style is like the first TLoS, with some good improvements, more fluid and funny to play. I read many bad ratings and 99% of them are made for very stupid things

I read many bad ratings and 99% of them are made for very stupid things (ohhh she’s kissing another girllll!! Smoking weedddd!) or made by people that don’t understand the story (or they played it in a very superficial way). Developers developed people, not characters in this game.

While playing this game, you have to thing about the actions You do 1000 times. Not because your actions can change the events in the game (the story is independent and has only one end) but because your action will have consequences of yourself! And it’s the first game that makes me feel that (semi spoiler: I’m sorry Bear)

Things that i don’t like much in this game:
    - like previous chapter you can’t return in the previous area.
    - skill tree very basic, it could be improved a lot
    - Italian localization of scars (why hyenas?!)

So, for me it’s a 9.5/10 this game.

The new characters are likeable, the ending is beautiful, playing as Abby is a neat twist on the perspective, I could go on and on. This is a masterpiece. Just about as close as you can get to topping Part I without actually doing it. Expand

The whole way through I was enthralled in this world and the gameplay was intuitive and engaging. I kept getting amazed and wanted to continue seeing where this game led. This revenge tale I feel is important as Ellie has taken on a lot of Joel’s traits and with how the game proceeds you see that she’s slowly becoming more comfortable with it, even going so far as to torture. At the same time though we see Ellie get affected by these actions and due to Ellie allowing herself to get consumed by this need for vengeance, she lost everything. I won’t lie I was sad with the ending but I felt it was a bold and important for the story. Ellie wasn’t a good person throughout the game, just as Joel wasn’t and I’m happy we got to finally play this full game. Expand

This game was amazing but did it have its faults yes playing as abby was like pulling teeth no matter no much they tried to humanize her I kept waiting to the end so I could kill her I understand what they were going for but when u kill a beloved character it doesn't matter about y she did it but with all that said it was very good and have never been this emotionally involved in a game Expand

The story worked and was emotionally charged by his demise and continued the theme of Ellie and Joel's relationship beautifully. Abby was interesting and a great "antagonist". Beautifully crafted and told story that felt grounded and visceral. The mise-en-scene and the storytelling generally were nothing short of beautiful.
Gameplay was solid and scenarios were great but nearly repetitive.

An amazing game that tells a two sided story with a spiral narrative. The gameplay brings improves and you will notice if you played The Last of Us "part one". I kept playing for hours trapped in the story. The enemies are defiying, humans and infected. If you doubt about buying "The Last of Us Part II", dont do it anymore, it is a Must have in your collection.

The story made me hate a character and empathize with her within a few hours. I even grew to love her in the end. I still talk with my friends about it, and we share teories and cry together. This game, man! If a game chalenges me that much. Puitting me in a place where there's no heroes in the story. I would feel invaded, but at the same time, impressed. **** good game. Druckman and Gross, congratulations. I wish i was just a tird of what you two are. Congratulations. Also, this game made me care about Joel more than the first one. I put myself in Ellie's shoes. Then put myself in Abby's shoes, losing my friends. Adopting two amazing kids. "You are my people" YEAH YOU ARE!! Also the actors. Laura Bailey was **** amazing as Abby (She's always amazing, lets be real). Ashley Johnson crushed my heart. Amazing! Amazing! Bravo! Congratulations, guys. **** amazing. Expand

I'm washed out and drained of emotion after finishing this ultra marathon of a game.
Not used to writing reviews and as someone who doesn't describe themselves as a 'gamer', I don't have the depth of knowledge to compare the play with other games. I played the first Last of Us after watching a 'best of the year' round up on TV some years ago and liked its central premise. I loved that

Not used to writing reviews and as someone who doesn't describe themselves as a 'gamer', I don't have the depth of knowledge to compare the play with other games. I played the first Last of Us after watching a 'best of the year' round up on TV some years ago and liked its central premise. I loved that game, and although delighted that a Part 2 would come out, I was full of trepidation before starting - what if they ruined it? I somehow managed to miss all the spoilers too - hid from the Internet for weeks.
The game can feel like a grind at times - encounter after encounter that doesn't seem to progress the story, and like the first game, the sidekicks still seem to get in the way when bring stealthy.
That aside, the game mechanics were reassuringly solid, with some new melee additions.
I also enjoyed the various and numerous nods to the first game - avoiding the sniper, sneaking up on Cannibal David (with a twist), and a horrible revisit of the bloater in the hotel basement (not a bloater, and it was a hospital) that left my heart pounding.
For me, it's all about the story. I've heard that this game is described as a story of hate - I don't agree, it's of redemption and forgiveness (or lack of).
No spoilers from me, but what I thought was the main part of the game, turned out to be just halfway.
For what it's worth, I always agreed with Joel's decision - love can only be directed at a person, never a notion of a group (i.e. mankind). It was heart-breaking to see the fallout of his decision - for everyone concerned.
The final encounter between the protagonists was suitably hollow - if it was a movie you wouldn't be leaving the cinema with a spring in your step, but I would have liked to see a final dialogue between them - an acknowledgement of what it cost both of them. Like Joel, these characters don't represent good and evil, they are all flawed but at least their characters are malleable - we see the change in their perspective.
I'll be thinking about this game for many days to come, playing the morality out in my head. Thank you Naughty Dog!

Just considering the graphics, gameplay, soundtrack and motion capture this game is no way getting less than 8/10.

About the story.. What did you expect? That Joel would have continued to live like nothing had happened in Salt Lake? One day or another someone would had shown up seeking for revenge. “But Joel was too skilled and smart, he would have trusted Abby!1!” She is the age on Ellie and he saved her ass from being eaten by the infects, in the middle of a blizzard. Falling in an ambush was the last of his thoughts. Then he realized. It was too late. He knew that the moment had finally come. Do you think that I enjoyed this choice? Of course not, goddammit! It broke my heart. But his death had a sense in the context of the story. It wasn’t random like getting bitten by a clicker of slipping and falling from a cliff. The way he was killed... Only a sadist would have done something like that. Or someone who has been waiting for that moment for a long time. You live the scene with the eyes of Ellie, feel her emotions, feel the need of revenge flowing in your veins.

The game goes on and Ellie finds Nora. She’s trapped in an angle, unable to fight, unable to betray her friend. And our protagonist murders her. Was it necessary? What was going on in Ellie’s mind? She’s shocked, her hands shaking. That didn’t make her feel better.

The cycle continues and she gets to Owen and Mel. I don’t think that in this case Ellie would have killed them but Owen tries to counter attack (I mean, he had a gun pointed at him, that’s reasonable) and in self defense she kills them both. Mel was pregnant though. That was really **** up, the image of Dina bumps in front of Ellie’s eyes. She’s getting nauseous, unable to recognize herself no more. What goes around, comes around and Abby finds her way to the theatre. Boom, Jesse is gone, Tommy is about to make his brother’s end and you as the player are leaning toward the screen with the heart stomping in your chest. All the tension that had built up in the last hours is getting to the apex.

And then Mr. Druckmann press the rewind button. You are now playing as Abby. What?! I’m not going to play in the role of my main enemy! First thing first I’ll make her die a lot of times. The story continues, you discover that she was the daughter of the surgeon that years before was about to operate Ellie, before getting killed by Joel. You understand her feelings, her strengths and fears. You follow the path of blood that Ellie made, this time from a different position. All leads to the sequence in the theatre. This time YOU are the one pointing a gun to Ellie. I found it difficult to hit her, at that point I just wanted the cycle of violence to stop. Abby is physically superior but for the second time (the first was in the mountain shelter) she lets Ellie go.

This time Mr. Druckmann hits the fast forward button and we are in an idyllic scenery. Dina, Ellie and the little JJ are living in peace, apparently far away from the atrocities of this dystopian future. But the shadow of the past is always present and gets more present with the visit of Tommy. Something inside Ellie is broken. She’s unable to remove the image of Joel from his mind. She leaves again, decided to end the story. It’s no more a matter of hatred or revenge, it is pure desperation what moves her.

We finally find Abby, almost unrecognizable. Just for a moment Ellie’s shield is lowered and compassion hits her. After all she went through how could she let her go? Pushing the feels away we are introduced to the final, desperate, fight for life. Ellie is seconds away from drowning Abby and finish it all, as the sight of Lev triggers her memory of Joel. Abby was the only thing remaining to Lev. How could she kill her?

And finally the key of all the story is revealed. A flashback from the night before Joel’s death. Everything become so clear. Ellie never went over his decision of saving her but she promises that she would have tried to forgive him. This is a story about FORGIVENESS, not a story about REVENGE! Ellie was mad because Abby prevented her to forgive Joel.

Ellie lost everything. She has lost Dina, Tommy, and living in Jackson. Even being able to play the guitar, the only thing remaining from Joel. She’s empty, and emptiness is what you should feel as the credits are rolling. It took me several days to metabolize the complexity of the story, to understand what was moving each character. There’s no hero in this story, nor villain. There are human beings who make errors just like the real world. I dare you to find another videogame that encompasses these concepts and makes you feel like The Last of Us Part II does. Hats off to Neil and all the ND team, Ashley, Troy, Laura, Gustavo, everyone of them. You made something aere perennius.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
