graphics 10/10 just the best graphics of ps4.
Abby and Ellie are amazing characters, the game is an incredible experience, of course, one of the best representations of what human beings would look like in an apocalypse, where people really just want to survive.

Amazing sequel that shows a long journey of revenge and how it can cause you to lose everything.

On top of that, the gameplay is amazing just like the first game!

    Must play imo

I think the game was absolutely brilliant. The gameplay, the story (though I would’ve changed up the pacing and placement of certain story elements) and the visuals just made the game the absolute masterpiece it was. Did the game have its flaws? Yes, but what game doesn’t. This game truly made me feel for and relate to Ellie that much more. The game absolutely blew me away!

Sem dúvidas, o melhor jogo do console até agora, consegue transmitir um misto de sentimentos ao jogador. A história muito envolvente e bastante humana, sem divisão ou proteção de protagonismo, trazendo um aspecto humano e profundamente realístico.

This game achieves a story unlike any told in any other game. Naturally, the new and unknown has scared many who have linked their identities go limited and binary game play. If anything, the impassioned negative reception from many who never even played shows how deeply this game cut to the core.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us part 2 could be the single greatest game I have ever played. And heres why.

    Characters:

Most people hate that you have to play as abby because she is the antagonist in this game but i think it was a good idea to make us play as her because it shows the story from 2 different points of view and lets the player decide who's the good guy and who's the bad guy, since neither of them are entirely good or bad. The actors and designers have done an amazing job with bringing these characters to life. I can't think of a game where characters emotions seem as realistic as this, during the scene at the end when Joel wants to cry but tries to hold back while talking to ellie about what he did at the hospital was arguably Troy Bakers best performance in this game. I think that this game does an amazing job with LGBTQ+ representation, unlike other games with LGBTQ+ characters, this accurately shows that they have to deal with homophobia and transphobia and shows that different LGBTQ+ people experience it in different ways (for Ellie and Dina, it was only verbal abuse but for Lev it was an attempted murder)

    Story:

A lot of people didn't like the ending but i do understand why they did it this way. In part one Joel says to ellie "you have no idea what loss is". Now ellie has lost everything and she lost it all for nothing. Most people were upset that Ellie didn't kill Abby but I think this shows that she realizes that revenge will solve nothing because it won't bring Joel back and if she killed Abby, then how is she any better than Abby is.

    Graphics and aesthetics:

The game is absolutely beautiful and i love all the tiny details that are easy to miss like blood diluting in puddles or the animals that show up at random points in the game or even that slight film grain and blur in the distance. While playing, i can't even tell you how many times i had to stop, just to look at how good the game looks. Gameplay:

I've heard so many people argue that "linear gaming is dead" because open world games offer so much more than just the main story, but this game proves that linear games can be better than any open world game. The level design is done so well that there is so much to explore and even though it is linear, there are so many different ways to get through the levels.

    Weapons:

My favorite weapon additions have to be the silencers and abbys crossbow (I would like to be able to use a crossbow as ellie but i do prefer using ellies recurve bow) on the subject of bows, i want to mention that i love how they have improved the bow physics from the first game. Aiming with the bow in the first game was way too easy because it literally showed you the exact path the arrow will travel, in this game, until you attach a sight onto the bow, you need to judge distance by yourself. I also like how in new game+ you get all your weapons from the previous playthrough from the first day in Seattle. In the first game, even with new game+ you had to find the weapons again. I especially like this because now i can use the silenced smg in Seattle. Accessibility: Lots of games have had accessibility features but they were usually limited to alternate controls and a colourblind setting, or you would be required to buy more hardware like alternate controllers. This game takes accessibility to an entire new level and I've heard that a lot of blind people are now able to play it. I think that TLOU2s accessibility features should be the new standard for all games because gaming should be for everyone.

    Conclusion:

The last of us part 2 isn't just a good game but it exceeds the expectations and limits of what a game can be. It's also one of the most important games to ever be made. I've been a gamer since i was a kid and I've played hundreds of different games. The last of us part 2 is by far the best game i have ever played.

This is a beautiful game period. Design and attention to detail was flawless, the fight sequences were great as well. I love TLOU so I can’t hate too much, but it is a flawed game. What made me give it less than a ten is the Abby part, way too long. Somethings in the plot I wish were different. I love the inclusion of the LGBTQ and the transgender communities into the game as well.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Beware the bandwagon haters on this one. Naughty Dog gave us a tremendous game here that emulates a lot of what we see now in The Walking Dead. The living, in a post-apocalyptic world, join the dead as being serious threats to our livelihood as they all pursue a better world. You take the reigns and feel the hope and helplessness of all of those characters, who have deep backstories that Naughty Dog allows us to explore. While we may thirst for just the senseless 1st person shooter (and there are elements of that here sure) what we get instead is a humanistic trial of survival and a game that questions your moral compass. Perhaps the only downside is that there are no real choices to make in the game...do you choose to kill or simply to wound in your battle? do you question who is innocent or guilty? are there characters who can choose to help or hurt you? The answer is no, and that is a beautifully missed opportunity in this game that begs for it at times. Still the gameplay, responsiveness, and AI is relatively flawless and TLOU2 is a game that is hard to put down. the choice of weaponry is strong and how you build your character is a reflection on the type of assassin you want to be (stealth vs. guns-a-blaze?). At times the story does get bogged down with cut scenes, and it sometimes gets clunky or off the rails is terms of strategy (the blob boss in the hospital is the perfect example), but otherwise the game is intense, bold, and scary as it is endearing and tender. I admit I was annoyed by the oaf-ish way Joel was portrayed in contrast to the original, how major characters were built up only to get shot in the head and all memory of them gone forever, and the Ellie-Dina love affair felt forced and I did find myself, at times, rooting for Abby. It made me question the game negatively until you realize, that's the point. It's supposed to leave you stunted and unsure how to feel, much like the characters in the game itself. The original LOU was perhaps the greatest game ever made and any sequel was going to leave some fans disappointed, but to give the game a 0 or 1 rating, is just flat-out stupid and can't be taken seriously. TLOU2 is truly a masterpiece in its own right, as a completionist is took me about 35 sitting hours to finish on hard and as soon as it was over I was ready for TLOU3. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Playing this game is interesting, but not necessarily in a good way. The gameplay is pretty decent overall, I like the new things they added in for building weapons and upgrading them and the dodge button when people attack you etc... the graphics are nice as well on ps4 slim the frame rate drops significantly though that's a downer. Now the story.....this is where they could have done a better job. The first game was all about the story and the relationship that Joel and Ellie had together overcoming the apocalyptic world that they live in. The story on the first game was phenomenal. Killing Joel off they way they did not only pissed me off and I'm sure pissed a lot of people off, it gave the game a sour taste in my mouth for a long while. The push in the sexuality in this game is also rediculous. It makes the story dull and less interesting because it takes away from the post apocalyptic world that the story takes place in just like the walking dead has done in the later seasons. I understand the point they were trying to make with this game but they could have done a way better job doing it. I dont think I'm going to reccomend this game to anyone. It was put together poorly and executed in a very extreme fashion. This game wasn't enjoyable to play. It was a painful experience. Do better next time Naughty Dog. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, the a quick rundown about the game itself, story comes later...
The graphics of the game are breathtaking, the amount of detail and the atmosphere are top notch. The cut-scences of the game have a nearly cinematic feel and the voice acting, motion capture are the highest quality in video games. So, on a technical level, this game is a perfect 10/10.

The problem for me is the gameplay. Don't get me wrong, the stealth gameplay/gunplay are very well done and it makes a lot of fun to outsmart your opponents, at least the human ones. I can't stand the infected encounters though, the AI is pretty dumb at points and everytime I heard the sound of a clicker, I frowned (I have a deep hatred for stalkers too cause they make so much more difficult to stealth your way through the encounter and are just a huge pain overall). But this wouldn't be a problem if the game wouldn't stay out of its welcome in 25-30 hours of playtime. For such a long game, the gameplay is much to repetitive, especially in the later part of the game. The developers should have cut out about a third of the game or make the gameplay more versatile towards the end to make this a game a more balanced and overall interesting expericence. During the last 10 hours, I just tried to avoid a lot of encounters as I was bored and annoyed about the procedure (slowly killing most enemies - get caught and the gun your way through the remaining - proceed to the next encounter). I know that this part is pretty subjective, after a played about half of the game, I just wanted to know how the story ends and just rushed most encounters. For their seven year of development, the gameplay is basically the same as in the first game. Gameplay 6/10

    So, now the story...

Overall, I really like the story of Part II. It tells a very interesting story about traumatized characters, tribalism and the consequences of revenge. I also like the change of perspective and really enjoyed Abby part of the story, although here part of the story was a bit to bloated (compare that to my problems with the gameplay above, this is the part that should have been cut shorter in my opinion). It was very interesting to see Abbie who already had her revenge and knows that it does not help coping the trauma that caused the killing spree in the first is put into perspective with the main character Ellie who is still consumed by hatred destroying hear own life on the way to revenge as Abbie did before. Abbie is Ellie if she would have killed Abbie, still dealing with most of her problems.
I also never rooted with Ellie through the whole game. She acted like total psychopath and killed a lot of innocent people (hundreds of wolves and seraphites) who had nothing to do with Abbie’s revenge plot in the first place. Like Neil Druckmann said years ago, the story is not meant to be fun and I think many people miss the points the developers want to make with the story. Many people dismiss the game because they don’t like the story subjectively and try their hardest to explain why the game is objectively bad and no one should be able to like the story bloating off every single thing that is off with the plot (and to be fair, the plot has heavy pacing issues and is contrived at some points). It was a very bold move to kill such a beloved character and the developer could easily made a ‘Joel and Abbi Buddy stories’ and everybody would have been happy. But they were bold enough to provoke lots of controversy they were clearly aware of that (Neil Druckman said once that not everyone would like the game).
But still, the story is definitely too long (especially Abbie’s part and the epilogue of the doesn’t need to drag on for several hours although I like the overall idea of Ellie going after Abbie again and leaving her happy life behind). Story 9/10, very interesting and thought-provoking story about which we will still talk in year. And with that, the developers made a much better contribution to the gaming world than “The Last of Us Part II: Ellie and Joel Road Trip Part II”

Overall, I would give the game 8/10. Fantastic Graphic and presentation, gameplay from 2013 and a bold but too long controversial story with minor pacing problems and plot holes.

The big problem about the controversy is the same with the The last Jedi (which I quite like by the way): Do writers want to tell a story they want to tell or do they want to tell a story the fans want? Or otherwise: who owns the story or the characters? The writers or the fans?

Thoroughly enjoyed the game, not perfect by any means but the story was bold and refreshing, in a time where storytelling has been diluted by predictable Marvel-esque writing. Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
