    Ignore these reviews. Ignore the critics that speak positively or negatively. Play and form your own opinion. I see this game as a masterpiece, and with great reason. All it takes is an open mind, and dedication. You’ll either love it, or hate it. Play it for yourself.

    I love the last of us part II It was amazing. The last 3 chapters i was a mess everything was so intense and real touching. I'm already waiting for the part 3 please Neil and everyone on ND make it real!

    Amazing game, the perfect continuation, incredible graphics for a PS4, better Gameplay and gunplay than in the first, and a darker story but well done, where a lot of unexpected events happens.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Amazing game. Naughty dog is limited with the graphics and what they can do with the current hardware. Wait for the new hardware to come out and possibly, most likely last of us part 3. This game shows the dynamic of the franchise and how it can immerse you in the world and relate. This is a world of dead. An apocalypse. The world has ended and there is people who survive and people who die simple. Not every death will be deserved or the best way to die it’s an apocalypse. That is the point of story telling. You have good and bad moments. Will it be sad at Times yes. When Joel dies yes it was sad and it hurts but not everything will be roses. Not everyone will just die on a death bed. The game is meant to be like that it’s called great story telling. Different story telling it’s not like your typical game that sticks with the same characters for 5 or so games. Then if that was case you same people would complain how it’s josh Joel and Ellie and not anyone new. They took the shocking approach. Ellie is still alive. Yes Joel dies but he had a great legacy and will forever be remembered. Abby is still alive which can spark up stuff for a third game. We have new characters that they can build off of and make you love them as well. I know people want more backstory playtime with Abby to get invested. Maybe that comes in another game. I’m fine with what I got because most people just wanna know why and they tell you why and yes if someone dad dies it’s enough to want to kill someone. Plain and simple. I think some people just saw cut scenes heard spoilers and said forget the game without playing through it and getting that experience as too why. It’s a great game with a great story again. Just have to learn how to get over stuff it’s a game. Also if you are leaving a bad review or rating because Ellie is lesbian then figure your life out. That is not a reason to hate a game get over yourself and be a adult. Otherwise the game is great I still think first one is better but this game is great. People need to stop whining it’s a game it’s meant to have heartbreak and sad stuff. Amazing game I would definitely recommend play the whole game before you judge it otherwise you are not doing yourself any justice.… Expand

    I just played through the game and was thrilled in every way until i saw the reviews of it here on Metacritic! I was shocked at how many people rated this game so badly, and this shortly after the release. It is simply impossible to play through the game at this time, which made me wonder what the basis of most reviews is.

    First we come to the gameplay and graphics:

    -The graphics are absolutely mindblowing, for a title that is still on the
    old generation consoles, it looks really beautiful.

    -the gameplay is not as many say monotonous and boring. Because in my opinion it's one of the best there is. It may be sluggish, but whether or not someone likes it depends on their opinion of such realistic gameplay. I myself find the realism and the feeling of always being vulnerable sensational!

    Now to the most criticized part: THE STORY

    The story may not be everybody's cup of tea but it's not bad in any way. Because Naughty Dog does something no one has ever done before, it questions your own decisions and makes you look at Ellie and Joel's story from a different angle. It shows the consequences based on our decisions in the first part, which when you think about it were devastating. Keyword: the last mission in the hospital! I couldn't put the controller away while I was playing through. The game simply tied me away.

    ATTENTION SPOILER:

    Many criticize the decision of joel's death, which I believe was well founded at the end of the game and not too bad. Just because the main character of the old game dies doesn't mean that the new main protagonist is worse. Ellie plays herself great and is still one of the most interesting characters there is.

    Now for the conclusion:
    The game has captivated me like no other game! It made me think and made me fear it. This is the first game in which I question my own actions, and I am shown that there are always two sides of a story and not everything you do can be justified. And before you say something negative about a game, you should first play through it!    … Expand

    Why do all people tell that that this game is garbage? This game is like the first game an absolute masterpiece and this is in my opinion a perfect example how toxic a gaming community can be.

    Great history, good gameplay, with simple mechanics and a new incredible feature never saw before in video games: you can play musics in the guitar. That is amazing. One of best animations in all time, and the best facial expressions ever. Great desing levels, and a big upgrade in the AI. Unfortunately, the characters development is not better than in Tlou 1, but the mechanic attribute isGreat history, good gameplay, with simple mechanics and a new incredible feature never saw before in video games: you can play musics in the guitar.     Besides the graphics, AI and all tech that all loved the game presents a complex approach to problems and shares different points of view building where you play to build the character you see how they become what they are now and what if on the alternative timeline could have been done to prevent all of that to happen. At the beginning playing with the different characters didn't grow on me but after an hour I was already hooked to the depth of the history, I understand the premeditate rage but that was part of the feelings that the studio was delivering. Some points regarding some sensitive matter could have been addressed with more concern and should have a little bit extra development to not fit on the cliche plot, but this doesn't reduce the overall psychologic concept that the game is bringing that you must look in a whole and not analyze in pieces.… Expand

Graphics are top notch some of the best seen on PS4, gorgeous images of Seattle and undergorund tunnels colors all in HDR really look great. Gameplay is improved version of gameplay from first game by a lot and if you liked the original game's gameplayThis game can be considered a masterpiece. Who really loved the original game, story, characters and gameplay should really love this game. And it is evident that developers cared about the characters from the original game because there are excellent set pieces, very emotional dedicated to them. Every encounter and development of the story is very tense and it makes the players think. Exploring Seattle is just pure joy. All and all this is easily one of the top 3 games on PS4, alongside Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War. Pure 10 from me.… Expand

    Great Game. technic & fascinating innovative Story & Charakter Design - Haters & Fan-Boys gonna cry & hate! Many might not understand the fact, that a good game-story does not have to follow certain "rules" or "expectations".
    The Game sets new scores in emotional storytelling & development of the actions. Besides, the graphics & atmosphere is simply astonishing.

    Man... this game brought me unlock my deep emotions. Definitely play the first one before Part 2. Trust me when I say this, the only reason why this score is so low is because the game got spoiled but it didnt turn out to be entirely true. Just, play the game. Form your own conclusions.

    Great game. I have spent 3 days on TLOU2. I wanted finish this game to know how all ends and it the same time I wanted this game to never end. The end of the game leaves you with your thoughts and you just sit and think "What developers wanted to say?"

    I am writing this review whilst listening to the end credits, which probably makes me one of the few who have actually finished the game before publishing a review. Breaking this down in segments firstly the game's graphics are probably the best I have ever seen if not top 5, everything you look at is just shockingly beautiful from start to finish,    THIS REVIEW CONTAINS NO SPOILERS!

    Breaking this down in segments firstly the game's graphics are probably the best I have ever seen if not top 5, everything you look at is just shockingly beautiful from start to finish, often found my self walking so I could take a look at everything.

    Acting/performances are just second to nun expect the same sort of quality as with the first game, simply outstanding.

    Gameplay and mechanics have massively improved allowing for much much more variety in attacking.

    NOW the elephant in the room.
    The story, The last of us 2 tries to make some extremely bold moves right from the start and some work some don't, I think given the chance however you if you play the entire game your mind is changed..
    The theme is Rage, revenge and forgiveness you are constantly second-guessing yourself throughout the game questioning if your actions are just.
    The game really forces you to see both ends of the perspective, I do wish they allowed you to make some of the choices throughout as often you are forced to do some questionable actions.
    I won't say any more than that.

    If you enjoyed the first game as far as I am concerned this is a must-play as you will get answers to some of those questions, we all had at the end of the first.

    I really wish the leaks didn't happen for this game as i feel people have jumped the gun read the story and not actually played the game itself.

    Naughty Dog has absolutely delivered a worthy sequel.    … Expand

    People just didn't like the game because it doesn't give what you want. It makes you uncomfortable at certain points, but the director said it would happen. The history is incredible and the game-play is awesome. The story is about revenge and makes you fell sad with just few moments of happiness, but the first game wasn't very different.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
