    BY THE POPE you gotta love those triple A companies who don't care to satisfy the fans and offer them great experience but to apeal to political views. I feel sick of this garbage story. No matter how good gameplay/graphics are if your story is **** your game is unplayable.

    My approach for this review is getting straight to the point (quick fire bullet points)
    the assumption is made that readers are familiar with the series or rather predecessor of this current iteration.

    1- Gameplay - this game personifies the "if its not broke dont fix it"" approach. the controls and game play is almost identical. its about survival and you need to be smart about how you manage your weapons. There is no new interesting weapons. And its the same old style of hide and take your time before attacking enemies.

    Enemy variations are limited in fact most are similar to the initial game for most of this game. AI can be questionable
    at times. More so with the new inclusion for enemy dogs , Ill just say this if a dog catches your scent i doubt the moving 2 metres away will make the dog loose you. )

    i hated that i felt more vulnerable in this game. Even though this game is relatively easy.

    2-Graphics and environment - this is the largest merit of the game. this is definitely the best thing about this game Naughty dog just has a style about their Last of Us and Uncharted series that is so amazing to witness. this game does not miss a beat on that point. Environments look largely the same and painfully linear with little open world.

    3- Story - The main issue here is the character themselves. their Actions are rather different from the first game. Characters that survived the first game seem regressed they some how trust strangers now. which gets them brutally killed. this includes the protagonist of the previous game whole is clearly not himself. Joel does not have a clear motive and this obviously leads to his death. The motive of his death is also not stemming from a previous choice the player was made aware of or given consent, Autonomy was disregarded and what seem like a moment of courage to preserve a little girls life in the first game led to a mans death. Ally then seeks revenge kills thousands of people and in the end finds Joels killer and opts for an Honorable battle which makes no sense because the character design of this character shows that she is defiantly superior in strength! in a segment of the game you are forced to play as this very unlikable character.

    Theres a weird sexual encounter all i can say on that is wow!!!

    4- Lastly My love for video games - The politics of the game ruin this game. This is taking a perfectly good hearted story and trying to challenge you for no reason with a plethora of plot holes. how are you getting buff in a damn apocalypse. Its ridiculous !!!! but its okay. but ignore the forth point its just my opinion.

    and by the way the apocalypse is ignored its just about religion and sexuality now. its crazy

Forcing us to play as the character that killed one of our favorite and most beloved characters....screw that. Congrats, the game is pretty but you screwed up everything else. The story lacks any real substance. The focus of the first game is endure and survive. The second was "it can't be for nothing" ... but it was. It was for nothing. When the creator makes a self insert that spits on Joel's dead body...that says what the creator thinks about those that loved and appreciated the first game. Waiting 7 years when the the first game was my favorite game of all time and Joel was my favorite character of all time, this was absolute trash.… Expand

Killing Joel was a bad move, then Ellie goes and kills a bunch of WLF, Jesse dies, then when you’re about to kill Abby, you let her go! What type of **** is that? The story is super sloppy and messy.     The game plays more like a interactive movie than a video game with half of the time "playing" your really just sitting with the controller on the ground and the rest your just **** walking, that second part could be overlooked if the story wasn't **** ass and a complete disgrace to the first game.

    Technically speaking one of the best looking games I've ever played, but that's where the positives end. One of the most nonsensical disappointing games I have ever played! Extremely angry with both Sony and Naughty Dog for having the nerve to think that this story arc is in the least bit engaging, true to the original, or even slightly good. I wasn't even this disappointed with Anthem orTechnically speaking one of the best looking games I've ever played, but that's where the positives end. One of the most nonsensical disappointing games I have ever played! Extremely angry with both Sony and Naughty Dog for having the nerve to think that this story arc is in the least bit engaging, true to the original, or even slightly good. Joel dies in the prologue and Elie is left alone and it's really pathetic all the time. All of Ellie's companions are either written out of the story or are flat out killed by Mrs. Nanomachines.

    Ellie's character came off as really annoying this time, because of how sad and depressing everything was. It was like listening to a 14 year old talk about how dark the world is and how deep and emotional they are. I honestly started to hate myself for sitting down and playing the game.

    Abby is a ****ing mess and only exists to kill some companion of Ellie's or to serve as a tower of meat. She kills Joel, and then you play as her, and the game tries really ****ing hard to make you feel empathy towards her because "oooh she's just in a twisted world."    … Expand

What can I say is just perfect. You can't compare something brand new with old one so much as haters there. Personally for me it's 9/10 but for excellent job of atmosphere and a new story 10/10.… Expand

    The positive reviewers like to act like they are making good points when arguing why Joel was meant to die. No one disagrees Joel deserved to die, he was never established as a morally good character and he made a selfish decision which condemned the human race. No one is angry Joel died we are angry about how he died. My take on this would be much different if we were introduced to Abby long before she brutally murders Joel. They set them self up with an insurmountable task of creating empathy for Abby. And they didn't even try, we got a ten minute scene where she saves a Zebra with her father then they reveal Abby is the person who convinced them Ellie should be murdered to save humanity. If the writers are trying to make the player empathize with Abby why would they establish her as the one who condemned Ellie which inevitably led to Joel killing her father?

    Later on in the story we are introduced to Lev who saves Abbys life. This prompts Abby to betray the wolves to save Lev. This decision of Abbys feels like a fruitless attempt by the writers to establish Abby as a morally good character in order to gain empathy from the audience. They're trying to define Abby as selfless contrary to her making numerous selfish decisions. It's hard to say anything for certain about Abby's character because every other decision is conflicting. One moment she is selfless the next she is selfish. When it comes to condemning Ellie her morals are for the good of the many but when it comes to saving Lev her morals are for the good of the few. She gets very angry when she finds out Ellie has killed her friends yet she's already betrayed these friends and was prepared to leave these friends behind to help Lev.

    The story overall is nonsensical and revolves around and characters literally abandoning and losing everything in a fruitless quest for revenge. Both Abby and Ellie quite literally sacrificed everything over avenging the deaths of two people in a world where everyone has lost someone. Death and violence is around almost every corner of this world. Yet for whatever reason these two people are so special our characters travel thousands of miles killing hundreds to enact their revenge. Even after watching the bond which is formed between Joel and Ellie in the first game I have a hard time believing that Joel's death was enough to bring on this murderous rampage. Especially after Joel and Ellie’s rough relationship has been established.

    This world isn't the same world we were put into in the first game. There is no hope in this world, there is only violence and sadness. The violence is so over the top that by the end of the game I was completely numb to it all. The game heavily relies on shock value that was brought about through overly violent and grotesque actions perpetrated towards beloved characters which was so overly used it left me feeling nothing when the game came to it's final conclusion and this mattered the most. At no point were we given any sort of relief or loving character development which gave us respite from the sadness and violence of this world previously. In the first game Ellie provided 90% of this relief from the awful world we were witnessing. But she is now a shadow of her former self, despite spending her years safe and sheltered in a settlement with electricity she has completely lost the spark we saw in the first game. The conclusion of the game is hollow, hundreds die in this needless revenge plot and one singular person being saved who the player has established no empathy for is supposed to bring meaning to all the meaningless violence.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was up there as one of my most anticipated games but has ended up being totally disappointing. Although the graphics are visually stunning, the game itself has been a massive let down due to a number of factors. The biggest factor is simply the awful story, it is riddled with plot holes, ridiculous decision making that is totally unbelievable by the characters and returning characters personalities being butchered to the point where they are almost polar opposites to how the were in the previous game. The game has no one that you can root for, everything has been made to be utterly bleak and seems pointless which when partnered with the long l of the game left me bored and uninterested, without the motivation to carry on. The gameplay also lacked many significant improvements from the first game too. Jumping and crawling were pushed as the new game changing mechanics that would completely change how the game would play and how you would interact with the world yet to found myself rarely ever using them. The enemies AI was also terrible, half the time you could walk straight past them and skip portions of the game as they would not react if you were right in front of them. This made it seem pointless wasting time with fights which left me even more bored with the game, as I had no incentive to keep trying to find new ways to tackle situations to get the enemies, when I could simply run past them and leave the area without spending too much time. Most disappointing of all was the first being, spending the entire game selling revenge to have your easiest opportunity thrown away to try give off the reasoning of revenge being bad was like a slap in the face. Wasting all that time to get there for nothing, although Abby gets away having successfully gotten away with killing Joel and succeeding with her revenge arc. It links in to the character choices being totally ridiculous as well, Joel was a shoot first kind of person who always assumed others were out to get him so seeing a brief flashback of him playing a guitar would not sway Ellie as she knew what he was like. The game although nice to look at, was horrible to play and will go down as one of my biggest gaming disappointments… Expand

    The story was fundamentally flawed and disrespectful to the original game. The game play made no attempt to evolve beyond where it was 7 years ago; it felt terribly dated and was a chore to play through in between cut scenes. The same game play loop was used over and over, against the same brain dead AI. The art was nice aside from some wonky animation blending.

    4. Lastly, if faithful worshiper who loves certain game series zealously and someone who are absorbed in PC deeply provide support that game, poor game will be a masterpiece.

    As all you can see, this result is TLoU2.

    The Last of Us 1 shows us how stereo typed-zombie games become well-made game with splendid story. We got touched through universality related humanism and paternal love like what Joel gives Eille under desperate situation.

    But what about TLoU2? Joel became protector of LGBT. Joel became golf ball and died in vain. Eliie dig up his corpse and behead it in her memory. muscular girl who killed Joel roamed fields and destroyed everything all time with no clear purpose... what do you want to tell us, scenario writer? I think if he shows STRONG Abby's behind story, gamers will understand her motivation naturally in his delusion. That is his intention clearly. but No. No one understand this bad story.

    How about graphic, sound? Not bad, but we just want a consecutive good scenario, not collateral things. Good graphic and sound make a game more remarkable when game is totally good.

    TLoU series is dead. 2 killed 1 as Abby killed Joel.
    DO NOT BUY this game and save your money. I think you can spend your money more wisely.

Очень большие локации только с 4-5 противниками, тупой и слепой NPS и просто скучный геймплей! Да, есть несколько действительно хороших моментов, но оно того не стоит. Отвратительные диалоги на уровне подростков. НО самое главное - сюжет. СЮЖЕТ ПОЛНЕЙШАЯ ХУИТА, да ещё и пиздец какой долгий. Вся история тлоу2 вызывает у меня такое отвращение, что даже печально за потраченные деньги и я нисколько не преувеличиваю. Бесцеремонная и тупейшая смерть Джоуэла, от женщины Халка Эбби, которого я полюбил в первой части и ебаная Элли не отомстила даже за него. Автор придумал абсолютно идиотскую сцену с убиением Джоуэла, который был всегда на стороже и вдруг дал себя провести и убить. Разве контрабандист в мире пост-апокалипсиса пошел бы к чужакам в лагерь? Нет конечно! И даже если устроить сцену, как Эбби в одиночку убивает Джоуэла, да у неё нет абсолютно никаких шансов. Джоуэл профессиональный убийца с многолетним опытом, он бы просто насмерть отмудохал Эбби и все. Уже после убийства Джоуэла игру можно выключать. В целом - потерян весь смысл игры. Идея была в спасении мира и отношениях между любимыми персонажами из первой части. В уникальности Элли и в отцовской заботе Джоуэла. Сама же Элли потеряла все... Феминистки, трансгендеры, лгбт-движуха все это высер, который выводит меня исключительно на негативные эмоции. Так засрать игру, это надо постараться. Я говорил уже, что для меня главное сопереживать герою. Почему я должен сопереживать стремной перекаченной бабе, которая убила Джоуэла? Почему я после этого должен играть за нее? Был бы отбитым сексистом, я бы конечно сказал, что тлоу2 это вообще пропаганда радикального феминизма, пропаганда ненависти к мужчинам, большинство мужчин там тупо подкаблучники, я конечно так не скажу, но истина как всегда где то посередине. А ещё в игре про выживание почему то постоянно появляются поцелуи лесбух и их секс. Это точно игра про зомби? Я не сексист и не гомофоб, и я был бы не против парочки поцелуев, но не когда 24/7 героини обсуждают свои отношения вместо экшена. Элли стала хуже: злая, ненавидящая мужчин, курящая травку, какая то мерзкая. Флэшбки с Джоуэлом бесили неимоверно. Первая часть игры была шедевром, а вторая высер паразитирующий на первой части. If you loved the original characters you will be seriously disappointed with this sequel. Creative director Neil Druckmann has trolled loyal fans by delivering the complete opposite of what they wanted. Joel and Ellie might as well not be in this game. If you really cared about those characters (like I did) then give this a hard pass. The level of narcissism shown by Druckmann is unfathomable. I cannot imagine how he was allowed to derail what could have become a billion dollar franchise. This game will be bought by many loyal fans and like me they will feel betrayed by the false advertising and the blatant lies that tricked them into parting with their money. Sure the game has pretty graphics and smooth game play but beyond that it is soulless. It desperately attempts to be clever by forcing you to commit acts of atrocity and then preaches to you about how awful this is... it’s moronic, patronising and simply fails on every level. The female writer that delivered the brilliant original had no hand in this utter garbage and it shows. I will never buy anything remotely connected to Neil Druckmann ever again. I sincerely hope that his career is over. Don’t waste your time or money, Ghost of Tsushima is coming out soon and then CyberPunk is following later on this year. My advice is to save your money for what are much more likely to be quality entertaining titles. Or if you really need an apocalypse fix and haven’t yet played Days Gone, it’s definitely worth a look, it’s the entertaining sequel that this game should of been.… Expand

    I just completed the main campaign for The Last of Us Part II with a clock time of 29:15. After years of waiting for this release, it’s clear that the trailers advertised and the final product presented false advertisement and swapped out character models that did not reflect what I thought I was receiving for $60. Having said that, I cannot recommend this game due to a few reasons that impacted my playthrough. Please see below.

    I will start out with the obvious. I am still completely blown away with the technical capabilities presented on my PS4 Pro from this game. The environments and level design are beautiful and very detailed. I never expected to see such invigorating life in this world that they built. The details are incredible, and some areas are middle to large in scope.

    The animations are fluid and improved over the original on the PS3. The jump mechanic of Ellie is a neat and welcoming addition to the gameplay and verticality implemented in The Last of Us Part II. It gave me additional playstyle opportunities even though it felt just like Uncharted 4. Again, not a bad thing!

    The gameplay is pretty decent. I noticed many improvements and refinements over the original game, but nothing after a few hours that felt new. It reminded me of RDR2 giving me a “stiff” feeling whereas the original felt a little more loose.

    The story is where I noticed a lot of inconsistencies that didn’t match the trailers advertised. I thought okay, maybe it was an update, but then I began seeing more and more. Naughty Dog lied an put Jesse in a cutscene (when I was going through WLF territory) where the trailer depicted an older Joel. I felt extremely disrespected the way they killed him off and had diverse characters do him this way. It felt forced and like an agenda was being pushed and I did not feel that. I also did not like that they went to the level of spitting on him with the guy who looks like Neil Druckman. Again, I love the characters from the original, but the characters and the way they are treated in The Last of Us II just feels like “filler” and to show shock value. It reminded me of a b horror movie with a large body count. Why did we not get the old gruff Joel and instead this younger Joel? Was the marketing team doing a bait and switch? I felt like I was getting a different experience and not the one I wanted.
    Why were there many political themes heavily forced and pushed throughout the game? I noticed a lot of white characters being killed in inhumane ways by other diversities and again, it just felt like a message was being forced or sent. Other people wont mind this, but I wasn’t a fan of this. In fact, it was constantly pressed throughout the cutscenes of the story.
    The XXX scene…what was the context other than incorporating it during Abby’s time throughout the campaign? Her character I couldn’t feel bad for after the way the writers did Joel and Ellie’s new personality/character over.
    The ending and final boss fight was underwhelming. Don’t expect a huge finale per se, but if your expectations are low, you may enjoy it. I put in so many hours and killed so many people to ultimately let Abby go and it felt like a punch to my stomach. I think the writers were going for this, but it just made me feel that this was not The Last of Us Part II’s game that true fans of the original wanted.
    If you love the characters of the original, I can’t recommend the sequel due to the inconsistencies, the ways beloved characters were treated and killed off to push a new controversial character that wasn’t as relatable as I would have hoped for. It felt as if a whole different team made this game, but with the themes of feminism, LGBQT, politics, etc. Why is there such a heavy push for these themes? I understand their viewpoints, but I didn’t need to see this within every cutscene.
    I was completely underwhelmed by the game due to its rich narrative. The Last of Us is a story-based game and this story felt cheap and quickly thrown together for shock value and execution. If you don’t care about the narrative you may enjoy the game, but you will have themes of SJW, feminism, LGBQT, Violence, and more. The way they perceived the Seraphytes (A Christian cult group) was also disturbing. I feel offended as I am a Christian and we certainly don’t want to harm or kill those who sin or have different beliefs. This experience felt like a porno. I’m baffled.    … Expand

The story has been ripped of it's charm and is now full of nothing but cheap shock value and parts meant purely to just cause anger. Spoiler part: The story has been immediately ruined in the first few hours when Joel is killed off for shock value. The angry child of a girl who did it is one of the main characters now and you play as her for a large part of the rest of the game. The story tries to be spun as Ellie being the bad guy for going after revenge, even though she literally watched Joel's head get beat in in front of her. Ellie is then to the side storywise, and is a very one track personality for the remainder, instead of the very lively and deep character she was in the previous game. Some games pull the "flip the player character trick" well; TLOU 2 is not one of them. Pathetic showing from Naughty Dog, and I genuinely wish I could get a refund.… Expand
