Having seen what this "sequel" came to be makes me think that this practice should be illegal. This isn't a sequel. It might be a spin-off, it might be a fanfic, but it certainly isn't a sequel. It took the two main characters from the previous title, used their faces and names, yet stripped them of all of their traits, personality and characteristics, and for what? A typical "bittersweet" story? A "there's no good or bad, just different perspectives" ending? Social activism? Truly deplorable. The writer should be fired and be forced to forever be remembered as someone who attempted to rip people off, by promising to deliver a continuation to a story that was adored by many, and instead seizing the opportunity to virtue signal.… Expand

    the story is nonsensical at best, pretentious at worst and the self-insertion of the director is absurd. they try to paint it as a "revolutionizing, groundbreaking, grown up experience" but end it up looking like a pretentious, unoriginal movie that try, and fail, to copy what other games did 15 years ago.

    Uninteresting new characters and a very poorly written plot in which they totally destroy all the great things that I loved about the first game. Shame on Niel Druckmann for ruining this game and he's taking Naughty Dog down a bad path.

    This game is hot trash. Same boring gameplay loop as tlou1... Go here, examine this, put it down, go there examine that... The gunplay is still a sub standard mess, just an awful and dated experience. Not to mention the agenda they've shoehorned into the story, perhaps the only redeeming quality of this franchise for me. I will never be giving Naughty Dog my money again

These characters were treated like trash and the story was pumped with nothing more than a lackluster revenge plot that wasn't even worth playing. The first game was so much better. Really wanted something more with this one.

Or something relating to that aspect. But it literally falls apart from the very start. What is worse is that they clearly lied in the trailer showcasing Joel in scenes where, in the real game he is either not actually there or it's a younger version of him which means the scene in the game is a flash back. But the trailer is showcasing all present day moments making you believe Joel to be alive. Naughty Dog obviously did this because the game was leaked and tried to create confusion.     I wanted to like this game. The first Last of us was great. Part 2 IS NOT. I’ve never been so disappointed by a game. Truly a catastrophe on so many levels. It’s just COMPLETE GARBAGE. Naughty dog used to make great games, not anymore.

The writers on the new game are hell bent on villainising the main character from the previous game and using the sequel as a platform to further some new messages of there own The reason why i gave this a 0 is cause I'm rating this not as a game but as a last of us sequel which it fails miserably to deliver infact the entire games plot is a misery simulator Ofcourse it delivers in terms of gameplay and visuals but im sure for a game to be known for its gripping story , most fans would buy the sequel expecting the same experience from its story which the writer changes for a watered down revenge plot that has been done before ellie is given a bad ending just for the sake of a basic empathy lecture For a sequel which i waited for almost 7 years this was an utter shame… Expand

    A sequel to a quite popular work, accepted as a well-written dystopian action game, with strong emphasis on it's characters, their development and their bond to each other.

    I always thought, that the first one had quite repetitive and let's just say, pretty simple gameplay, a really good presentation, a cool and interesting hero, solid storytelling and good world-building. It was a decent game overall.

    Now, the second part has that.. sort of I guess... And even more. "Great" one might think. Eh eh, sorry to disappoint you guys. The cool & interesting hero is not the protagonist anymore and is literally gone after a few hours and the "more" is actually something, that games and art generally should have less of...

    And that is pandering, virtue signalling and an agenda-driven intention, to push ideologies. Don't get me wrong, an artist generally can of course use art as a way to express the personality, feelings or to sent a message, in my opinion – that is totally welcome and interesting for a reflective recipient, no matter if agreeing with the artist or not. But in this case, an form of art is MISUSED to PUSH their own viewings and ideas on others drastically... And as a gamer since the 80s, that is something I want, can, should and must not tolerate. So, I raise my voice as a real GAMER via this platform and say NO to The Last of Us Part II.

    Out of a quite well-narrated grim action game with emotional moments for mature players, they made a dull teenager walking simulator drama infected with identity politics.

    I am afraid of what they might do to Nathan in the future, if they decide to carry on with the Uncharted Franchise. I mean, he is a cool, masculine straight white male, right? And that is something, that does not fit their agenda at all... but hairy arm pits, folks, hairy arm pits on females do. Apparently.

    Hope that Naughty Dog will soon announce: "THE LAST GAME OF US".

This is clearly a cash grab by Naughty Dog. How they can expect you to play as a character that you have no empathy for in a game based on character development and storytelling is ridiculous to say the least. I didn’t completely lose faith in the game though, as I was hoping the scenes would be alternate scenes than what actually happens, I was wrong. The characters we loved so much in the first game turn into stupid, reckless, uninteresting counterparts. From Joel and Tommy literally telling the enemy where their camp is located to being so oblivious that they let their guard down, leading to Joel’s death. What ever happened to the Joel that would drive full speed into a crying, helpless dude who turned out to be an enemy?? The new characters are as bland as they are forced, meaning the “sjw” trend of having a trans character and Abby who is somehow bigger than every dude in the game. Naughty Dog has successfully checked the box on diversity and pushing of their own agenda rather than create a fun and powerful story that worthy of the original characters. Combat and graphics aren’t enough for me to even give this game any credit because most of the time your just dreading going on. For all the people who say “you havnt even finished the game yet” or people like Neil Druckman and his team who try to fool you by declaring it’s something you need to experience yourself, don’t believe the lies. They just want your money to back up the progressive, lazy, **** writing this game as all about.     I've played the first game and I have to say they really messed this game up bad. The level design is fine but Naughty Dog ruined our favorite characters.

    beginner's error, never put two stories of two different characters in 30 hour games in a 1h or 2h movie yes or put a choice or a dlc to separate the story.

Once you think it’s over, the story swaps characters and you find out that you’re not even halfway done with the game.

    Sequels should be made for the fans... not for the Vice President.

    Then to play with Abby for 10 hours was horrendous and sitting through these meaningless side story between the different factions and how one character is a tranny, but wants him/her Mom to accept it was too much because at this point, WHO THE **** CARES!!! THE MAIN CHARACTER WAS KILLED FOR NO (D)UCKING REASON AND SEVEN YEARS OF CARING AND INVESTING EMOTIONS FOR ELLIE AND JOEL ARE FOR NOTHING.

    Despite the outstanding gameplay and graphics, this game was made for snowflackes SJW's.
    Naughty Dog forced us to pay attention in the LGBT/ Gender Ideology themes than make a good story.
    The ending is also a lame and wrong way to finish the playthrough.

    The graphics are good but the entire game suffers from a monotone atmosphere. The game simply feels like one long morbid snuff film from which you can't get away. The game has nothing to offer other than smooth animation and CGI. It basically bases it's entire existence on animation quality and shock value.

When the developers talked about this game in the beginning, it was going to be about Joel and Ellie and their journey. What they meant by that was Joel has a horrid death and dies by an SJW garbage character named Abbie. The female characters in this game look very masculine and Abbie looks like a a steroid abusing bodybuilder with a head and voice of a female. Not to mention, the sex scene in this game just tops it all off with why you shouldn’t purchase this game. For gods sake, I was expecting there to be buttons to press during the scene. ‘X’ to thrust and ‘O’ to pull out. They ruined this game with the god awful plot.… Expand

    Good side:
    Graphics are pretty good
    Environment is very interactive
    Puzzles at the same time are not too complex which makes the game also user friendly

    Bad side:
    Story line
    - A lot of characters that played so much roles and made what the Last of Us a unique game dies by the wrath of some girl that looks like an ogre. Who? I don't know she just showed out of the blue. Wow thats interesting, whats her backstory? Where does she come from? No? Oh thats cool, sure, very heartbreaking to see some characters get killed by a nobody. No history, nothing.

    Story line Part 2
    Story is pretty hollow. Alright, some characters died and now its revenge time. The plot of a revenge time seems kind of hollow and dry doesn't it? The story just turns into a hatred rampage. Alright sure, we get to kill the character that made this game pure dog**** We reach the end of the game. We're so close to killing her. Oh? We let her go? Well thats a shame. I'm pretty sure Joel wanted to kill Abby and you show a flashback from a scene with Abby and Joel that literally creates no connection with why Ellie spared Abby to begin with.

    Oh but its a good story because it appeals to SJWs? Who? How did they get in our topic. We're talking about Joel, Ellie, Tommy and the rest of the great side characters. Oh yeah sure, lets bring them here out of the blue just like how the devs brought Abby to the story line. Perfect.

    Last of Us 2? More like the last lost of revenue the crappy devs (us) are gonna get for this dog **** game.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
