    The visuals, acting, animation and gameplay alone should earn this game a high score. I understand completely why some people didn't like the story, and i think each person will have their own unique perspective on it. Many long time fans of the first game will hate the narrative, while others (like myself) will adore it. I felt there were some slight pacing issues, especially towards the end, and at times i think the game pushed the violence too far. There were multiple times i felt conflicted by what i was being asked to do, and for the most part i enjoyed that the game was willing to push and challenge it's players. However, there was a point were i said "i don't want to do this" and had to log off for a while. In the end though, the experience was incredible and i after processing it for a few days i felt the urge to go back and play it all again.… Expand

    Отличная игра, почему все взъелись я хз. Отличный сюжет, согласен, та химия которая была между Джоэлом и Элли не сравнится с Диной, но все же, серия идет вперед и все меняется. Вполне очевидные поступки героев, раскрытый характер, мотивации. Что Элли что Эбби прекрасно прописаны. Сюжет заставляет задуматься и переосмыслить первую часть. Но все же игра стоит времени потраченного на нее. PS Хочется отдельно упомянуть записки, в которых куча сюжета и раскрытия персонажей. Записки это нечто прекрасное.… Expand

    The theme is driven home in every action the characters take. Hate can only lead to destruction of everything around it. Sometimes the only way forward is to forgive, let go, and move on. It is a little too long.

    Beware original PlayStation 4 owners. It will make your machine work a little to hard and get really hot. Keep it well ventilated when playing.    … Expand

Everything over these past 7 years set this game up to be one of the greatest. However, the almost universal critical acclaim of the first game and the subsequent anticipation as we waited for this game to come out lead only to disappointment. As a stand alone game this would have been fantastic, and a true classic. As the successor to what is, in my humble opinion, the greatest storytelling experience of my life, the loss of some crucial storytelling elements were it’s downfall. If you played the first game then this one is an absolute must play, but it is not a worthy successor.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is truly incredible. Using both gameplay and cutscenes to tell a heartfelt story of loss, revenge, and ultimately forgiveness. Since the first game ended I was interest in what would happen from Joel’s choice ( a choice I agreed with). This game does a great of job of living in the results of that. I think once your realize you’re playing through an incredible story and you (the player) are not part of the story, it becomes great. Once you invest in the characters journeys and not make it your own, you’ll start to see what naughty dog was going for. My only real faults with the game were with mechanics, the dogs were extremely annoying and made those sections either avoid everyone or kill everyone, same with the stalkers later in the game

    Don’t read this part of you haven’t played the game. It basically me going through the game saying parts I liked and parts I didn’t. And as what happen to Joel happens and you go down Ellie spiral you start to see how Ellie is so different from Abby in her desire for gruesome murder. Then the switch to Abby feels foreign at first from the scene you just came from. But as you play and meet lev and it feels very similar to playing as Joel in the first game (a large imposing figure with a archer partner, craft shivs). The worse section of the games were near in the end where they made you control Abby in a fight with Ellie when you wanted Ellie to win. And having the game force you to control the enemy and have the computer use your tactics as Ellie was difficult to go through. I think it’s a better game for it but this section was hard for me as a player. The following section on the farm, made it feel like the ending which at first I was upset that Ellie lost the big battle ( I really didn’t want either character to die but I didn’t want Ellie to lose). But after walking around the farm I became ok with this being the ending and was happy for Ellie and the life she had. Until the panic attack hits and she goes after Abby again. The ending section on the beach I think was the perfect way to end it, Ellie got her revenge but her killing Abby in that moment wouldn’t have meant anything.    … Expand

    Spent more than 50 hours in the game and all I can say is that it is a great sequel to a great original game. My applause to Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann.

    -To preface this review,Congratulations to the Naughty dog team on a great game. My excitement for this game was through the roof ever since it's reveal back in 2016. I preordered, got the special edition controller and more.
    My excitement accelerated when part 2 was released and we see the seasoned Joel and Ellie. I was thrilled to see what the story was going to hold. I had heard about the big storyline leaks and made sure I did not read any of it so I did not spoil anything. I had heard that the story revolves around Ellie getting her revenge. Early trailers of part 2 showed glimpses of Ellies new love interest, Dina. I thought the story was going to follow Ellie avenging Dina's death or something along those lines. I was certainly not expecting Joel to die. Especially after the 2016 reveal trailer where Ellie is looking for revenge while Joel is already in the scene. I wonder what the original storyline contained. I was really looking forward to playing as Joel again and seeing his and Ellie's relationship continue to grow. It was sad but I respected the direction that they decided to go with the game.
    When I first started playing as Abby I was somewhat annoyed. I immediately just wanted to go back to playing as Ellie as the audience has grown to love her. I didn't even bother looting with Abby as I thought I surely wouldn't be playing as her for long so what's the point. I was mistaken.
    I understand that Abby's side of the coin was important to the progression of the story, I just wish it didn't take so long. It felt like the game was divided 50/50 between Ellie and Abby when I wish it was more like 75% Ellie and 25% Abby. I have waited so long to play as Ellie and just got annoyed whenever that got taken away from me. I really wanted to enjoy playing as Abby but at the end of the day I was just waiting to go back to Ellie.
    I was a little confused about the ending. I might be missing something but I don't understand why Ellie had such a big problem with killing Abby after she has killed hundreds of other people that got in her way. Perhaps she feels bad cause Joel killed Abby's Dad? I'm not quite sure.
    The gameplay was solid. The graphics and audio amazing. The stealth was great in this game, my only strife with it was it began to get a little repetitive with sneaking up on enemies and performing the same takeout method over and over again. The gunplay was awesome! The enemies didn't feel like they were a sponge and when you shoot them with a shotgun, you definitely feel it.
    Despite what all the negative reviews say, I still loved this game. I think everyone is exaggerating because they enjoyed the first game so much and wanted to keep playing as the main characters. The bar was set so high in part 1 so it is easy to see why everyone is upset.
    Upon completing part 2 I am left feeling truly very sad (did not think I would say this about a video game). The story was amazing and it sucks to be finished it. To make it worse, I don't really see what they could do for a part 3 so the series could be finished for good for all we know.
    I have never been so emotionally invested in a video game as I was with The Last of Us part 1 and 2. The Naughty dog team should be praised for their outstanding work in the franchise.    … Expand

    They have shown you why characters want to kill each other, and the understanding of both sides makes it more difficult to see who is good and who is bad.
    I never had such conflicts and emotions in me before when I played a computer game, maybe only in the first part, but not as extreme as in this part.
    For me it was one of the best games I have ever played and I congratulate Naughty Dog and everyone involved in this project on this masterpiece.
    I never actually write game reviews, but because of the many bad reviews about this great game, I felt obliged to do so.
    I don't understand why this game causes so much hatred and disappointment.
    Perhaps most players weren't ready for this kind of hard story, but please, this game is set in a hell of a world where anything can happen to anyone. I mean, what do you expect everything will be fine and everyone will stay alive until the end, like in most game and movie stories?
    It's a masterpiece and there a only a few computer games were you get thies kind of emotions.    … Expand

    The game is incredible, the graphics and the animations are incredible, considering that is running in a ps4, and the story is not the best but it's still a really good one and I liked the way they tell the story, it has a few mistakes but nothing that ruins the game experience. Definitely an enjoyable game.

    Una locura de juego en el buen sentido, entiendo que haya gente a la que la historia le haya podido no gustar aunque a mi me haya volado la cabeza, pero eso no es un argumento de peso para dar un 0 al trabajo de nadie, especialmente cuando este despunta también técnicamente,una lástima que la comunidad no sea capaz de ver más allá de su propio odio absurdo y se quede en la superficie. :(

    Simply put, this is THE BEST videogame ever created. A mature and gut-wrenching story, absolutely beautiful graphics, polished gameplay and the best sound design ever in a video game all come together to make this an absolute masterpiece. This is a new benchmark in gaming that will be talked about for decades to come.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall I think this is a really great game but it has some weaknesses and frustrating aspects - and I am not overly sure on the overall message/story that Naughty Dog decided to go with. Major spoilers below.

    I'm in the camp that really enjoyed the narrative switch and being able to play as Abby. They changed the gameplay slightly in terms of the weapons available to her and how physical she is which kept the general feel fresh and that was important as the game overall can feel a bit stale sometimes because of repetition (puzzle, infected, people, puzzle, infected, people, set piece etc.). So I enjoyed that switch and I also thought as a narrative device it does work. I have to say that playing as Abby, I like her. I don't forgive her but I do like her, and mostly I wanted both Ellie and Abby to survive for the people in their lives more than any forgiveness for the things they have done. Both Dina and Lev are great supporting characters in my opinion and they're the main reason I want our main playable characters to end the cycle of revenge.

    The weaknesses of the game come from some of the repetitive gameplay in my opinion. I also think that the AI are unforgiveably stupid at times, although in saying that I only played it on moderate difficulty for my first run through.

    My main issue though comes from the relentless bleakness and the game seemingly implicating you, the player, in the horror and brutal torture that is meted out by the main playable characters. The game doesn't force us to kill Joel or Jesse, but it does force us to torture Nora, to try and kill both Ellie and Dina, and in that final beach battle it forces the player to fight regardless of how you might feel about it. I know it isn't an open-ended game, Naughty Dog aren't creating a "choose your own story" narrative, and that's ok - but I resent the game forcing us to make that step as well as the characters.

    I also wonder about the narrative choice - there are no good people in this world (or so it seems). This sort of links up to my above point but when you enter a situation where there are people, there is seemingly no option other than to kill them all (or stealth your way through to avoid them). There is no situation where you just meet other people, are wary of them, but carry on. In fact the game starts with Joel and Tommy saving someone, and Joel is killed for it. The only other time a stranger is saved is when Lev and Yara cut Abby down - and that starts a path of change for Abby. But the entire world outside of that is horrific, and the optimist in me just refuses to believe that in the post-apocalypse, you would only find one or two slivers of light amongst hundreds and thousands of people.

    However, really this is just a gripe with the overall world view of the game. It's not an issue I have with the story that was told within that world, and it didn't take away from involvement in the story. I'm still giving the game a positive review overall: even if you disagree with the narrative decisions, I think it's well worth playing all the way through.    … Expand

But just like the first game, this story makes you feel a lot of things, and due to the alternate perspective element of this story you end up feeling even more. I will be playing this game again soon.

    (Why only 9/10?) I feel that the story could have given me more in terms of answers. Anyone who has played the first game will know about Ellie's arm, this was mentioned/referenced maybe 3 times throughout. This story is not about a cure at all, this story is about living in this new world and deciding what you want to fight for and when you decide to fight for it or let it go. But this story never really climaxed, rather it just kept building up to not much and then hanging back a bit before building up again and then taking its foot off the gas. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of emotional scenes, but despite the fact it is made like a fantastic film, this is still a game and we do need a story which gives us satisfaction through that gameplay (I.e pulling the trigger that finally kills the protagonist, or making the final decision to do the thing you were trying to do the whole game, or even choosing to walk away). Most of the important moments were just a cutscene, then we went back to the same (fantastic) gameplay.

    I would not want anything from the story to be removed, rather I'd want some of that story to be gameplay rather than a cut scene and some additional character development/backstory added for the unanswered questions.    … Expand

    Could not put this game down for a week. Constantly thought about it. The amount of care put into building a game experience is rivaled only by other titles such as RDR2. Every time I boot this game up I find something new and amazing to love about it. It's fun, it's challenging, and the storytelling is of the same caliber as the first. A very worthy sequel. Pois, o game é um exercício de empatia, de se colocar no lugar do outro. Foi muito corajoso da N.D não só fazer isso na história, mas principalmente te fazer sentir o que as personagens sentem. Pois quanto mais você avança, menos você se sente recompensado de alguma forma, muito pelo contrário, quanto mais vc avança, mais parece que junto com as personagens vc se afunda, vc perde e o game fica cada vez mais pesado e angustiante. Isso pra mim é revolucionário e contra a maré de qualquer jogo existente, que pelo menos eu tenha jogado na minha vida, vc não se sente assim: "Victoria! Derrotei esse boss super difícil!"

Vc se sente pesado e chegando nos dois clímax finais, caso vc tenha comprado a experiência que a N.D tenta passar, vc joga com o coração na mão. Se vc não compra a idéia, não será a msm coisa e provavelmente o jogo decai muito.
    A primeiro momento, achei meio sem sentido a morte do Joel, mas posteriormente parando pra pensar e analisar a situação, fez todo sentido. Logo, mudei de opinião sobre.
    A única coisa que não gostei foi o começo da campanha da Abby, não só pela raiva inicial. Mas tbm pq o primeiro dia dela, ela faz missões com pessoas que vc já viu a Ellie matar, então perde muito o peso, vc sabe que não vai dar em nada aquilo tudo ali. Depois que ela se separa dessa glr e principalmente quando se junta com as duas crianças, ela cresce muito e fica do caralho, cinematográfico.
    Tem até mesmo crítico de cinema fazendo análise das cenas do game de maneira cinematográfica e como uma cena pode construir de forma intrínseca uma narrativa.
    O primeiro é uma obra prima e esse segundo segue o mesmo e até supera. Tudo no segundo game é mais aprofundado e as ações dos personagens tem mais peso. TLOU II não segue uma receita de bolo da indústria onde vc avança de fase e ganha um brinde até chegar no chefão e derrotar ele, sobe os créditos, acaba. E se não tiver um multiplayer ninguém liga mais pro jogo e não falam mais dele, como esse que tem quase um mês do lançamento e estamos aqui até agora discutindo o mesmo. Por isso que demora quase 10 anos entre o lançamento de um e outro e não 1 ano como AC.

    The game is one of the best and at the same time the worst gaming experiences of my life, both in a good way. Well, the game is an exercise in empathy, putting yourself in the other's shoes. It was very courageous for N.D not only to do that in the story, but mainly to make you feel what the characters feel. Because the more you advance, the less you feel rewarded in any way, quite the contrary, the more you advance, the more it seems that along with the characters you sink, you lose and the game gets heavier and more distressing. This for me is revolutionary and against the tide of any existing game, that at least I have played in my life, you don't feel like this: "Victoria! I defeated this super tough boss!" "Look, I beat this guy, he gave me several items" Or anything like that. You feel heavy and reaching the final two climaxes, if you bought the experience that N.D tries to pass, you play with your heart in your hand. If you don't buy the idea, it won't be the same thing and probably the game will decay a lot. At first, I thought Joel's death was a little pointless, but later stopping to think and analyze the situation, it made perfect sense. Soon, I changed my mind about. The only thing I didn't like was the start of Abby's campaign, not just because of the initial anger. But also because her first day, she does missions with people you’ve seen Ellie kill, so she’s losing a lot of weight, you know she won’t do anything there. After she separates from this glr and especially when she joins the two children, she grows up a lot and gets **** cinematic. There is even a film critic doing analysis of the game's scenes in a cinematic way and how a scene can intrinsically build a narrative. The first is a masterpiece and the second follows the same and even surpasses it. Everything in the second game is more in-depth and the actions of the characters have more weight. In the first game, things happen and they don't seem to have a consequence, that doesn't. A much more mature game, unfortunately, the fans have not matured in those 7 years. The last of us does not follow a cake recipe from the industry where you advance to the next level and win a freebie until you get to the boss and beat him, up the credits, you're done. And if you don't have a multiplayer, nobody cares more about the game and they don't talk about it anymore, like the one that has been almost a month since the launch and we are here so far discussing the same thing. This game is a Masterpiece -> from story telling point of view to gameplay and off-course the graphics (which is brilliant)as well.The story has different layers and understanding it is very important in order to get along and understand the characters(specially Abby).The game is divided into two halves ->1st half Ellie and 2nd half Abby and both journey's are brilliant and way different from each other.Each of the two characters has different motives in the 2 different halves of the story ->Ellie journey is motivated by revenge while Abby's is due to of guilt and debt. I hated Abby at the beginning but by the time both story merges i was more into her than Ellie and thats the beauty of this game and story telling , you'll just have to dive into it to actually understand Abby's side of the story and what lead her kill JOEL.     I'm not going to sit around and say it's a perfect game, I think some characters lack the chemistry that Ellie and Joel had in the first game, but the characters progressed in a way that was not unearned. Ellie finding out what Joel did at the hospital driving them apart, as well as the guilt of not knowing.

    The gameplay was not entirely different from the first game, but there were some aspects it improved upon. I personally feel like the weight of the weapons you are using really shines through in this game, even if some times it can seem a bit unrealistically gory for extra cool points. The puzzles, however, were a pretty big let down. There were a few great ones scattered around, but I recall one specific instance where I found a safe and was preparing to look for clues on the combination. When I began to walk around the room I almost immediately stopped, seeing the whiteboard that contained the code for the safe not 5 feet away from it in giant letters.

    The plot, the area most people are bombarding with negative reviews, is not lacking in most regards. The previously mentioned lack of chemistry can mostly be chalked up to the phenomenal writing of the first game and how this story just fell short in some aspects, but comparing it to the old masterpiece makes it look far worse than it actually is, the characters are still likable and don't really force and political agenda (unless you consider the existence of other races and sexualities political).

    All in all, give the game a try, especially if you like the first game, it builds on the old story and gives perspectives that we weren't privy to before. It shows the reality of living in a more brutal world and the consequences of the first game really play out in this one. Don't be fooled by a bunch of people who never even played the game (since most of the negative reviews came out within hours of the game's release) I think you'll enjoy it if you don't actively try to look for reasons it would offend you.    … Expand

    The game is AMAZING, graphics are mind-blowing, and the gameplay improved a lot. The only bad thing about this game is that it lasts too much. After playing 20 hours it gets a little boring because you do exactly the same things in the same way, and it gets repetitive.

    I never played the first part and I think that was a mistake. The Last of US Part II catched me like no other game before. The graphics are gorgeous and the music and effects are on place. The story hooked me like no game before.

    I'm going to dive right into this. I LOVED THIS GAME!!! I love the love triangles, I love the artistic way they show comparisons between Ellie and Abby, I love the fact that they don't focus on Ellie being a lesbian as it should just be a normal thing, I love the real fear that a character you love might just die at any moment.     It's not right to review-bomb a game that you haven't even spent some time in or given a chance. I watched TheRadBrad play the whole thing through and while yes, there were certainly... unexpected moments, the game as a unified whole is nothing short of a masterpiece--linear storytelling perfected. If you haven't gotten around to playing or watching it yet, I highly recommend that you do.

    По поводу геймплея:я не монимаю придирок к нему,каким он должен быть-это не калл оф дюти,где вам могут дать турельную секцию с бесконечными патронами,это постапокалипсис,где у тебя один патрон в револьвере для себя. The game plot deconstructs the plot and the main idea of the fisrt part. The fisrt part declares "You must get, what you want to. Price doesn't matter" And the second part asks "Does the price really not matter? And how big price can you pay?". Ellie's falling into the dark, when she started to kill everybody, killed the pregnant woman and became so cruel, and Abby's rising, when she saved Yara and Lev, swap them. Ellie started to seem like a villain, and Abby started to seem like a hero. So, when the end is coming, you can not understand: who you want to save. And it's great

The story and the characters are well developed, maybe the plot development might not be for the taste of everyone, for me it definitely worked.     It’s daring, unafraid of eschewing a safe narrative that would’ve cashed in on the emotional heft of the first game. The game made me consider that the idea of good/bad, right/wrong is often simply a product of perspective. It also looked at revenge and its ultimate futility and inability to fulfill or set right. The game is also about mercy, small or as large as they may be.

    I loved the new characters introduced, and enjoyed that the new playable character Abby had a different set of skills and strengths than Ellie. Playing Ellie as a ninja, relying on stealth to then play as Abby and not be afraid to get into a heads up fight was really interesting.

    Overall, the gameplay felt so good, and almost like what I would’ve wanted out of a more focused and story driven MGS5. I also liked the flirtation with some open world elements and could’ve even went for more of it, but this is a Naughtydog story based affair, so the linearity made sense.

    This game just worked for me on every level, and exceeded my expectations. I’m very glad I avoided the leaks and went in only peripherally aware that a controversy existed.

    The pacing at times felt slightly off, probably my biggest gripe. And some moments were downright painful or punishing but to me the game’s ability to make me go to those places was satisfying to me. It may not be for everyone, but it was definitely for me.    … Expand

The themes of moral grays and bad desitions are one of the main focuses, the mirror that is abby to Ellie and viceversa. how hate, anger, vengaence just leads to nothing and destruction. how someone can throw love, stability, family and everything they have in live just for anger. It leaves you thinking what was the point of all. and thats a bitter sweet conclution to a bitter sweet wolrd, my only problem besides some chessy dialogle its that at some points the pasing of the story feel aticlimactic, that i would have been presented the same events but in a differet order. but besides that its a compeling stoty with struggling chracters that you will learn to love, hate, cringe and lots of things. 9/10    … Expand

    Don't care what you say....greateset game ever made. Story, character development, gameplay, graphics....everything. This game made me feel every emotion - Anger, joy, sadness, empathy....like a good piece of entertainment should. Well done Naughty Dog, you have outdone yourselves.

    I finished the game twice and I can confirm that this is the most beautiful and innovative game ever, I have found sensational emotions and above all new mechanics, the game is very innovative, as gameplay, as history and as experience.

Убили его отца, подумайте, если бы кто-то убил вашего близкого человека, чтобы вы сделали? Не пошли бы мстить? Мне Эбби как персонаж очень понравился и я был рад, что в финале Элли его отпустила. Вот мы и плавно перешли к ней, здесь она уже взрослая, имеет уже свои интересны и своих друзей. При жизни Джоэла она была на него обижена и не смогла его простить до его смерти, это и повлияло на нее, в финале она отпускает его и приобретает покой. Она так и не узнала, почему Эбби решила его убить, она все ещё думает, что она убила его из-за того, что теперь нет вакцины от вируса, а не потому что он убил его отца, думаю если бы она узнала это, то пересмотрела бы свой путь. К слову Элли убила всех ее близких людей, всех... Если бы не Лев, то наверно Эбби сошла бы с ума. Игра очень хороша и вызывает много эмоций. 100/10… Expand

    Extremely overhated game. I can understand that there were some minor narrative problems but the main issue is that People is angry because the game aint what they wanted and not neccesarily a bad game.

    Such a great game! It's basically a continuation of the first game. A second playthrough makes it even better as you get to understand pieces of the game that make more sense once you finish the story.

    Beautiful game which unfortunately suffers from some severe pacing issues particularly in the second half. Would have liked the two halves to be more connected and filler to be significantly cut down. Ultimately the ending ties everything together well, but im not sure how I feel about the more thematic approach of 2 vs the character based story of 1.

    I find it complete rubbish, everyone who qualifies the game as evil, homophobic haters, and hurt fans who believe this is a fantasy game, the game is so complex in the psychological part, shows the reality in the crap world we are, these people expected people, iconic characters to die Tony Stark, and sorry my skies so was not and so is not real life, hide in their absurd fantasies andI find it complete rubbish, everyone who qualifies the game as evil, homophobic haters, and hurt fans who believe this is a fantasy game, the game is so complex in the psychological part, shows the reality in the crap world we are, these people expected people, iconic characters to die Tony Stark, and sorry my skies so was not and so is not real life, hide in their absurd fantasies and their cheap policies, believing that the game would be a post-apocalyptic game as we have always seen this touches more the flesh and penetrates more the soul and shows reality not to a fantasy like all games that we are used to playing at the end of the world, although, it is a linear game gives the option to live and explore other things, transport us to a past and remember that affection father and daughter, and show more things and delve a little into an experience different from the others, as curious, the game there are also pieces of curious data, example when ellie goes to the museum there are historical and educational data and that details seemed interesting to me, because there is no lack of the rat child hurt by Joel's death and his homophobia that has not managed to capture the attention or did not notice, it helps to turn those kinds of people intellectual, those criticisms are those people who threw a lump of stone in their shoe, and cut off an arm and an eye so as not to persirvir any more Whatever the game is, and the experience, since the death of Joel, you get the feeling, you learn that every decision you make, has its consequence, now that maybe it had some fillings and characters with nothing to do with the main and emblematic characters, and a raw and dry death, as it is in reality, maybe that did lack strength, from Ellie we learn that the experiences that are learned from Pain are the ones that make us stronger, to one who does not get what is expected in the end, as to many grieved critics, who stigmatized the game in one way or another, as if they did not know what world we are standing in, the game touched reality and are always so accustomed to the same fantasy, of the were happy forever, many do not understand why the game goes beyond a fantasy.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finally got around to finishing the game about a month after its release and I made sure to stay offline and avoid all spoilers. I was truly surprised to find such negative and hateful user reviews online. I thought the game was beautiful.

    My one gripe is the major halt in the story when you switch characters mid-game. I feel like there could have been a better way to structure the pacing there, that was very jarring. But these negative reviews saying a "political agenda is being pushed" or that there is blatant disrespect to established characters. None of this is true.

    If you got to the end of the game and were unable to see that literally every character is the villain in someone else's story, you missed so many points. If you're a hateful person and you think the fact that there is a trans character or gay characters means there's an agenda being pushed on you, grow the hell up. I feel sorry that you're THAT insecure to think someone is forcing an agenda on you. This game simply shows the humanity in every character, shows our own personal biases (some more so than others, clearly). I hated Abby at first, but the more I got to know her and her story and her OWN personal tragedies I realized Joel was the villain in her story. She was driven by the same rage and obsession than Ellie was later driven by. It's disheartening that so many people missed the point, simply because one of their favorite characters died. Sometimes the Ned Stark character dies, everybody. Play the game, decide for yourself. Don't be swayed by online incels and bigots.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
