Great: Full package that worth the price, ton of characters, easy to play, variety of combo, full of contents
Poor:The story is nothing, graphic just like PS2 game(SNK havs to admire it), Boring script, Mai boobs shape should be improved a bit....
I still give it a 10 because I have been playing this game since 1994 and I am really appreciate SNK effort.

But with a huge roster like that, those nice soundtracks, a pretty intriguing plot, and principally, a nice gameplay, i dont give a sh*t about the graphics. A nice gameplay will always be more important that graphics, even when you know that SNK couldnt do a better job because they're running low on money.

    Pros:
    - Excelent gameplay.
    - Nice soundtracks (specially Saxophone Under the Moon)
    - A huge roster with 50 characters
    - Lots of contents

    Cons:
    - Graphics dont look so good

I think it's worth of buying.

Gameplay wise it's one of the best KOF games.
    Fast and fluid.

Story wise, kinda poor... but every KOF is poor in terms of story.

Graphics wise - looks like a PS3 game made in 2008 but that doesn't matter.
    The gameplay is really solid.

The roster is over 50 characters. OMG!
    So much team experimentation.

When a game only has a problem, which is the graphics (which does not matter in a fighting game), and give a flappy dick "punch" in the face of Street Fighter V, it is because this game deserves these credits.

The OST is not as good as KOF XIII but it's serviceable enough. Online play has been mostly good for me so far, which could mean a long-lasting community if it stays that smooth when the player base increases.

When I think of what I want for the future of the genre, this and Guilty Gear seems like steps in the right direction. Buying a game on day one and having all its features and characters readily available should not be seen as something to explicitly say as a pro, but sadly such are the times we are living in. What KOF may lack in visual impact, it certainly makes up for it by being a satisfying gaming experience. You don't feel buyer's remorse after a few hours. Instead, you really want the game to succeed and get a sequel that improves in the aesthetic department so more people can check it out. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it

The game simply looks horrendous in terms of graphics for certain characters and effects; some of which look passable while others are disappointing for a game released in 2016. The netcode is also not very good, at least not consistently, with delayed inputs and slow downs. Overall the game is quite enjoyable and is an excellent choice for both hardcore fans of the series and newer players, as long as one is able to see past the graphical shortcomings and do not intend to spend the majority of play time online. I made a comment that this looks like the closest a game has come to recapturing what Capcom vs SNK was since it's release years ago, and I'll be damned if it doesn't feel that way playing now. With my short time with the game this already makes me feel like what I did when I played fighting games back in the day when I was a gaming junkie.

I will go over a few cons with the game here. First of all the menu screen is really static and not expressive at all. I feel a lot more could have been done to make that more expressive but it just sits there which is a missed opportunity. Also, some of the stage graphics could be better especially the Team Fatal Fury truck sunset stage. I will say, however, on character graphics, I think thye are really detailed and fantastic looking when playing in person.

Does this game feel better than playing SVF? IMO by far YES...yes it does and more enjoyable due to the layers of depth that KOF has. I spent hours just practicing with one character just testing moves and even that was enjoyable in a roster of 50. I disagree with GS on the characters, they do have style and personality in all their moves and emojis.

The story cinematic looked cool as hell (wasn't expecting that) it honestly impressed me to the point of me having a big grin on my face the entire time rolling, it was fantastic. I am so impressed with this game right now. This is the most satisfying full retail purchase I've made since Bloodborne and others are not even close.

If you're a fighting game fan...JUST BUY THIS GAME PERIOD! This is one of the best fighters ever made. I suspect you will come to the same conclusion espcially if you enjoy the gameplay and content SFV has.

Visuals are what the PS3/X360 can achieve; a juxtaposition of 2.5D/3D elements. I'm not a gamer who puts most emphasis on the graphics department, it's the gameplay/controls I look for the most when it comes to brawler-type games. And KoF XIV did NOT disappoint me in that department. Control mechanics are solid and smooth frame rate.

The only thing I would like to point out is the PS4's default controller (DualShock 4) is not exactly the best comfortable controller for action/fighting games which requires precision, grip comfort, and button placement(s). You would need to get a different kind of controller (joystick or a fightpad) to reduce the steep learning curve when practicing or executing combos.

Back when I was getting really into video gaming, 2D fighting was all the rage. It all started with Capcom's Street Fighter II, but soon it was another japanese company that established itself as the absolute master of the genre: SNK. It all started with Capcom's Street Fighter II, but soon it was another japanese company that established itself as the absolute master of the genre: SNK. With Capcom's recent ill-advised handling of the latest Street Fighter title, it seems fitting that SNK's premier franchise, The King of Fighters, would end up being the best option for those who want to get a brawl going on the PS4.

Unlike Street Fighter V's reinvent-the-wheel crap, KOF XIV goes absolutely old school when it comes to main gameplay modes. Yes, there is an arcade mode here, and cheap tries to go all cinematographic on the storytelling are nowhere to be seen. There's an excellent local versus mode, too, as well as offline challenges and online multiplayer (although I haven't really devoted time to those last two, as they're just not my thing).

Like traditional KOF titles, battles are mainly done three-on-three (as in: you choose a trio of characters, and control each of them at different points), which has always been one of the series' defining traits, but there's also an option to go simply one-on-one. The roster is a big highlight, as it includes a lot of old favorites, a bunch of cool newcomers (and some not so cool, such as sleepy-Chinese-guy), and also a few SNK characters who were never before on a KOF title, such as Samurai Shodown's Nakoruru and Fatal Fury's Tung Fu Rue.

Controls are responsive and intuitive, and the developers went the extra mile to make the game accessible. For example: a simple sequence of quick, connecting weak hits will automatically develop into a very cool looking, if not necessarily efficient, special combo.

Speaking of combos, my main complaint about the game is that they went perhaps a bit overboard with them. You see, I'm a casual player at heart, and I have no intention of memorizing move priorities or hitbox minutiae. As such, I'm all for mastering character strategies and special moves, but I'm just not interested in chaining ridiculously long combo sequences that all require absolute precision. Seeing how those can end up depleting over half of your opponent's life bar, such moves become an absolute must against even the CPU on higher difficulties. A focus on shorter combo sequences, giving opponents more shots at recovering, would do a lot to make the game feel less like a mathematical chore in these situations.

    TL;DR:
Capcom dropped the ball big time for me with its Street Fighter V, but leave it to SNK to pick it back up and deliver an excellent fighting experience to everyone, and not only the most hardcore tournament players (even if an overreliance on long combos actualy threatens this premise). A great roster and excellent, responsive controls, along with a smattering of different modes, ensure King of FIghters XIV is so far the best new way to relive the early 90's fighting craze this generation.

Sure, there is the online gameplay, it would've been nice to take a few notes from Arksys.

With that said; KoF XIV is a vastly superior title than Street Fighter V and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who doubts me. SFV was a watered-down, bare-boned mess that is still cashing in on fighting game world.
In my opinion, Street Fighter died after Ultra SFIV (Which is the greatest 2D fighter hands down)

Be mindful, you are paying a lot for very little replay unless you have a good group of people to play against.

I would be close to 1000 hours of playtime for KOFXIV and would rank it as my favorite fighting game of all time. Initially the graphics turned me off, but since the update they have grown on me and in action I think this game looks fine and while there may be better looking fighting games you are going to be hard pressed to find one that plays as good as this.

This is a deeply technical fighting game but also easily accessible to new players(auto combos and a decent training mode although not as god as Guilty Gear Xrd's), the roster is diverse and full of interesting characters that are pretty well balanced considering.

If there was anything to rate this game down on, it would be the fact I cannot find consistent online games and when I have found games they have been a bit laggy, maybe that is more my own connection although if i play with people I know we can generally get very good connection and games with little to no lag. I think this is really due to the fact that this game is just not as popular as say SFV which is unfortunate as KOFXIV is a great entry into the King of Fighters franchise and fighting game genre.

The story mode is not as good as other fighting games out currently as its a very traditional format, I would like to see a Guilty Gear style story mode or Injustice. while there are a few cut scenes during the story mode they just left me wishing for more but I still found it fun to play through all the story modes for each team.

There is a huge amount of content here for fans of fighting games but it is not really doing anything new, but what it does do it does it brilliantly and I just cant stop playing it, SNK have created the best King of Fighters game to date and I cant wait to see what they do next.

This is perhaps the most accessible in the entire KoF series. The game plays like a tag-team version of Street Fighter IV. After the graphical update, it looks pretty good. Series veterans will be right at home, but newbies shouldn't find it to hard to get into. The roster is big and diverse and there's a good number of modes, maps and options. I dont know how sfv has better rate than this game, this game the only negative i found is the graphics that are lets say okay, but then this game is 90% loyal to the original kof gameplay, is rich in content, and really fun. If you like fighting games i think this game is a MUST buy.

    3 - A trilha sonora é ótima.
    4 - O modo história é muito fraco.

Resumindo, é um bom jogo, mas está longe de ser um game de alto padrão como o Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 e Mortal Kombat X. Merece nota 7!

KOF14 is a rock-solid game which can be fun for casual and hardcore gamers.

    * +50 characters, plenty of game modes, galleries, tutorials, content 10 * Plenty of movements, mechanics and combos. You have the freedom to create incredible combos, very different from the automatic-robotic combos from Mortal Kombat or Injustice. Gameplay 10 * Controls are prefect, very responsive 10. *

    * Music is ok, I would give it an 8
    * Graphics, the game looks like a PS3, but it´s not a relevant issue when you are playing. I think they sacrificed graphics to priorize content (a lot of characters).

I loved KOF98, KOF99, KOF13 and this game is very good too, one of the best fighters in the market right now, very fun to play. addictive, with plenty of content I recommend you to buy it.

Amazing game, tons of characters, although instructions on how to play are very unclear. also, the combo moves are extremely difficult with like 8 button combinations.

The king Of Fighters XIV is not the best game in the The King Of Fighters franchise, but it is solid and fun, in addition to making several references to previous games, several game modes and 58 characters (8 characters per DLC).
The only negative points are the outdated graphics and their network code.

While these complaints are not enough to cripple the game, it’s a shame that SNK has done such a tremendous job with most of the things that matter, only to stumble on certain design issues. Minor missteps aside, It’s pretty brilliant, and it’s safe to say that the series has made the leap to 3D surprisingly well despite still needing some polish, and maybe a bit of a facelift as well.
