I had never played the original, but now I would like to!
I walked into this thinking it would be a poor man's Diablo but still was curious from some buzz I've seen on it. I found the game constantly tempting me to continue with upgrades, skill trees, companion settings, and so much more. I walked into this thinking it would be a poor man's Diablo but still was curious from some buzz I've seen on it. I found the game constantly tempting me to continue with upgrades, skill trees, companion settings, and so much more. I will say that the controls can feel a bit unrefined when it came to targeting, but it is acceptable enough. I am having a lot of fun with the game overall and would recommend it to fans of dungeon crawling and loot.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II improves over the original in some ways, but fails in many others. There are a number of great quality of life improvements here and two new classes are very welcome. Unfortunately, the meat of the game is the combat, and it's just not very interesting. It becomes a chore to trudge through enemies and there's not even the pull of an intriguing or interesting story to keep you motivated.
