The Council Episode 3 is a clear decline over the previous episode in terms of stability and content, however, the quality of the actual narrative and the small details is still up there with the best of the adventure games this generation.

The game is riddled with bugs, from non-moving mouthes to our protagonist randomly going cross-eyed and having a fight with himself as both eyes operate independently and look all over the place!

But, in regards to the game itself, episode three is all about the council participating in their summoned duty - the discussion of what's going to happen in world events once again. That's right, there is an actual reason why all these figures have gathered at the mansion.

The story is great, all the new information, secrets, lies, and saucy info you dig up is very surprising and really cool to find. However, it comes at a price - there is only one puzzle within this episode at the very end, a puzzle which can't be undone or tried again unless if you restart the chapter. It's a nice twist and very welcomed.

Anyway - I actually gave the game a 7.8 as I really enjoyed the game, it was just let down by the bugs which they seriously need to fix before working on the next episode. My full review can be read here: http://www.gamepitt.co.uk/the-council-episode-3-ripples-ps4-review/

Episode 3 had strong points and weak points. The weak points really bring this episode and the series as a whole down.

On the strong side, the political intrigue elements continue to develop and come to their highest point as we finally get to attend the conference. This is the type of content that got me hooked in Episodes 1 and 2. I only wish there was more. On the weak side, a

On the weak side, a genre-changing plot twist comes from seemingly nowhere. I had hoped it was not going to change things too much, but having just finished Episode 4, it doesn't look like the downward spiral that comes from this abrupt change will be remedied.

The third episode of The Council is one of the least compelling of the series so far. The puzzles are not logical and the amount of running around you have to do is quite tedious.

Ripples is a well done continuation of The Council storyline, just let down a little by some puzzling plot devices, one leap of logic in particular evoking genuine bafflement from us.

The Council once again manages to make player actions feel vital in a way that few narrative choice titles accomplish – in fact, there are some diverging plot points that are so significant I have a difficult time imagining how many versions of conversations will have to be crafted for the last two episodes. This is also an episodic series where major characters can die, and that adds a level of danger to every interaction that few in its genre can match. Episode four can’t arrive quickly enough!
