I love pirate games so much that I would have stuck with Tempest right to the end if it hadn’t locked me out of completing one of the main quests. In order to research krakens, I was told to go to an island and buy some of their ink. I obeyed and headed straight there, only to find the resource couldn’t be purchased. I had plenty of money and space in my hold, and the ‘buy’ button was lit up, but no matter what I tried, the game wouldn’t let me complete the objective. I tried to meet Tempest more than halfway. I was willing to meet it 99% of the way, but in the end, it couldn’t even do that much for me.

I love pirate action games but Im afraid this particular game I have found to be extremely frustrating, poorly presented and badly optimized in the third person sections. The sailing sections are tedious, progress takes an eternity and most of your time is spent moving a ship shaped icon around a world map. The map incidentally is one of the worst you will find, with the cursor sometimes getting stuck at the sides of the screen if you should zoom in or out which makes moving around the map a pain at times. The graphics are budget to say the least, although I didn't expect AAA quality from it I did expect more effort than what there is. The sound sometimes gets stuck in an irritating loop and at times the ocean sounds dont play at all unless you pause and unpause. Combat and movement in the third person sections is hilariously bad with the most simplistic system there could possibly be. It has a camera that is far too zoomed in that you have no control over, sometimes meaning you can have objects blocking the view of your own character, really helpful when you are in combat.
This is a really really cheap game in every way, but not especially that cheap to buy, not expensive but not that cheap either. Unless your desperate for a pirate game avoid it, its really bad.
