    Tempest 4000 is fantastic. It adds to the already excellent TxK available on the PS Vita/TV. I was a big fan of Tempest 2000 on the Atari Jaguar and I'm pleased that the same soundtrack is used in this iteration. The only drawback for me was the bonus levels in between rounds. On the PS4 you use the motion sensor of the remote to navigate the center of the "tunnel". It's not that easy. BigTempest 4000 is fantastic. Big points are resolutions up to 4K, music, play-ability. It's addicting as hell with lots of action on the screen. If you liked any of the previous Tempest games, you'll love Tempest 4000. Big thanks go out to Jeff Minter and team. BTW, if your wondering how I got the game, it was on PSN last Wednesday for about 5 minutes before it was taken out of the store.     Tempest 4000’s time-tested gameplay still rings true, but some of the visual and design elements in this release add some unintended challenge. For what is ultimately an updated quarter-muncher, it has a steep price, but those looking to relive the past in 4K could do far worse than this title.

    For fans of Tempest and previous Minter games, Tempest 4000 is more of what they love. For those wanting precise arcade action or something new from this creator, it’s a flashing, overwhelming disappointment.

    There's only so much to add to an addicting gameplay loop of shooting, warping and surviving. Tempest 4000 does enough for fans of the original game to scratch that itch of a solid arcade classic. At certain points you enter a great flow state the games like Tetris, Rez or Lumnies are often known for. These are the best moments of Tempest 4000; enjoying the colors, the music and most importantly the solid gameplay. The game is just as good as the original and best of all it never gets old.
