A cerebral exploration of what we think we know and what might be reality. My brother is a detective in LA and he played this game (remotely and socially distanced), and his comment was that Telling Lies is about as close as you can get to what it is like to be a detective without having to join the force. My view is that this was entertaining and interesting - and quite a break from theA cerebral exploration of what we think we know and what might be reality. ** QUICK SKIP HACK FOUND FOR PS5/PS4 ***

After a lot of frustration, I found it: You hold L2/R2 to fast forward/rewind. While holding it down, you press TRIANGLE. You press TRIANGLE AGAIN to get our of the instructions and then...IT STARTS GOING BACK/FORTH at 10x SPEED! Now let your L2/R2 button. BE CAREFUL ---> DON'T PRESS X YET! Move the opposite direction a bit like if you

And THERE YOU GO! It starts at the new point!!!

    Thank you!

Btw, the game gets a 10/10 because of the feelings it gave me, the amazing acting and direction and cause its GOOD to have games like this happen more often.

Too expensive for what you get, and if you're expecting "Her Story 2," this isn't it, it isn't even close. Part of what made Her Story work was the micro-viewing sessions, which are replaced with longer, more tedious one-sided delivery that seems to be basically ignorant of what makes a game fun - this is more a slog than fun. Don't recommend.

While there is an interesting story here, and I understand the casting cost must have been fairly high.... the game does not warrant the price tag in playtime and replayability.

Not good, wouldn't recommend it. Got it for free with ps extra, i normally enjoy this types of games. But this was pretty boring overall

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I need to admit I only played it so far for like 2 hours but it already is quite boring and strange to just see videos, searching for clues in these without any real reason. The story so far seems boring and badly written. Expand

Boring.. boring and boring.. the story can be resumed in 2 to 3 sentences ! Seriously.. If only there was some efforts put on the "game" side of this mini movie ! But no.. the game can be resumed to this:

You browse 170 videos.. that's it ! To you to make something of it.. To me it was like being forced to see a small tv episode being divided into 170 pieces and in a complete messed

You’re going to want a pen and a pad nearby to keep track of your characters, the threads and the keywords you’ll want to search for, and some questionable design decisions hold the game back from being an all-out classic of the genre – with the shocks and twists of Her Story towering over Telling Lies’ endgame – but it’s still well worth exploring if you’re looking for an interactive mystery to untangle.

A perfectly executed peep-’emup that makes you feel in control of your investigation, and tells a twisting tale that you won’t easily forget. [Issue#176, p.81]

Telling Lies is a fantastic game…On PC. On consoles it’s playable, and for those who don’t have any other alternative it’ll do in a pinch, but playing with a mouse and keyboard is the way to go. The experience is so thematically intertwined with the pretense of using a personal computer that a lot is lost in the translation to home consoles. Considering the low system requirements, anyone with a relatively recent laptop should be able to run the PC version, making the console versions obsolete on arrival. The devs did the best they could with the port, but it’s still a distant second best to the original.
