The story starts with a Universe that it falling apart from storms due to an unkown cataclysmic event. Humanity has been scattered and the majority of the past has been lost.
You are a member of a clan that seeks knowledge that has stumbled upon an uncharted system with a facility that is guarded by automated defenses. Upon inspection you learn that the facility is the cause if the storms and everything around you disappears into the fabric of reality. Your only option is to enter the facility in hopes of finding answers and a way back home.
The gameplay revolves around you in a gunship defending yourself against automatic defenses in a labyrinth of levels. With the available upgrades for your gunship and weapons, this game gives the player a variety of ways to advance your gameplay.
I have enjoyed playing this Retro style game that has me coming back for more.
Scoring this title was tough, If you die it restarts a new game. This sci-fi game sort-of acts like a survival game which does not make giving it a Quick Review Rundown Score any easier.
After spending some time thinking about the games pros and cons I've scored Sublevel Zero Redux a 7 / 10. (Good)

Its chunky art style gives the whole thing a heart-warmingly retro look. [Apr 2017, p.95]

Sublevel Zero Redux is one of the most ambitious roguelikes due to its impressive combination of genres and intuitive gameplay. Although a few unfortunate drawbacks make it a less than stellar experience, genre enthusiasts should definitely check this one out.
