This is actually my best VR experience so far. If you like escape rooms like myself, you will love this brain twisting game. The price is perfect, the game is 100% fun and smart the whole time. Just like a bunch of real good escape rooms, except its cheaper.

Perfect game. The ambiance is clever and creepy in a way very reminiscent of Portal. The puzzles are super original and interesting and very satisfying to solve. It's short, but much like Portal the short length actually works well.

Just AMAZING, this is a must have. It's a bit short, but heck, the puzzles are very clever and the immersion is sublime, even better than RE7, after 10 minutes playing you can't really think you're playing, you're just in a room with a scientist making you tests, feels extremely real. A must buy.

EDIT: After playing more and more I got in love with this game, this is what had to be released since day one. The puzzles ramp up in difficulty, not extreme difficulty, but enough to get you thinking a good time. Also, the bit of interaction you have with the scientists are extremely fun. And I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the "voyeur", a roomba with a cam. This game is excellent, I hope the devs add more puzzles in DLC form as this game deserves it.

One of the best games I have played on psvr! Crisp graphics, wonderful gameplay, and great attention to detail that is lacking in a lot of VR games. Well done Tarsier Studios.

If you like puzzle games, you will love Statik. Although the game is very short. It took me around 1,5-2 hours to finish it, and although it is supposed to have an alternative ending, I'm not really in the mood of replaying the puzzles.

The time you do spend with the game is however spent in pure joy.

This is a great game, but I need more puzzles to satisfy my intrigue. I hope the developer will continue to add puzzles to the game. There are also 3 local multiplayer puzzles that I haven't tried out yet.

If Portal were about solving box puzzles instead of portal-ing around, it would be Statik. This is a sleeper hit on PSVR. It has mind-bending puzzles that integrate the DualShock 4 really well and a creepy and intriguing mystery at its core. Support this title.

Statik is one of the most clever puzzle games I've ever played. The puzzles are very original and make great use of the vr. I like how challenging the puzzles were. I loved the unique atmosphere this game had and it made you feel slightly uneasy even while being relaxed. Overall, a very solid package. One thing though that really got on my nerves was the hands attached to the box. Very often, I had to fight with the controls, to make sure the box was facing the correct way. Even when I adjusted the camera settings and turned off all the lights, I still had issues. It made a great game become very annoying at times. Expand

Fantastic puzzle game worth it's price tag. It envokes memories of Portal. It's a challenge and extremely fun. Most immersive game that uses the PS4 controller.

So far the best puzzle game on PSVR. The experience is very innovative with its unique use of DS4 Controller. The puzzles are challenging enough but absolutely very clear to figure out the solutions. The hidden puzzles are also well indicated that seeking a guide is not necessary.

This is a brilliant, brilliant game, I want to see more of this kind of thing for PSVR, and I hope this game gets a sequel and/or DLC.

If you're particularly good at puzzle-solving and lateral thinking, then yes it's short, but it's also only £15, and this kind of game is clearly a massive risk for a developer, compared with the endless cookie-cutter franchise repeats we're normally inundated with. The puzzles had to be pitched at a level where they wouldn't be too frustrating for people of average intelligence, and I think anyone should bear this in mind when writing a review. Also, do you really want to discourage other developers from creating such innovative experiences?

The good: Lovely Portal-like sense of humour. Graphics and sound are very polished; puzzle design is original, and there's hardly any repetition. Sense of immersion is total, one of the best for the PSVR, and it's the perfect game to show off your PSVR system to friends and family. Variety and imagination of puzzles is also excellent, lots of "woah" moments. No hints as to how to solve the puzzles; you just have to sit and think your way out of each situation. All of the puzzles' solutions were extremely fair and came naturally, given a bit of time.

The bad: There's one puzzle in the set which relies on fast reaction times; I can see why they put it in (for variety, tension), but I didn't particularly enjoy it as much as the others. It's a very clever puzzle, but just felt a bit out of place.

I really can't think of any way in which this game could be improved; I really had to think hard to mention a single bad thing above. Obviously, more content would be nice. If this game is successful; perhaps the content to price ratio will improve.

Game is honestly a 7 at best. Anyone claiming it's the perfect game is just overhyping it. There is little to no story and for such a short game there are sequences that seems to be nothing more than filler. The puzzles are unique and interesting at first, but once you know the button mapping, there is little challenge and it's over in maybe 2-3 hours at best. If you are a puzzle game and VR fan, you will likely enjoy it for the brief time it lasts (there is little replay value beyond unlocking another ending and a couple of secret puzzle mechanics).

Not the worst way to spend 2 hours, but definitely wait for a sale as in half an afternoon you will be done and it's unlikely you will go back. Note that it would likely be a good game to show to people new to VR.

This is a well done puzzle game. Not my favorite genre but I could see people liking this if you are into this type of thing. If you aren't then you will play it for an hour or so and never play it again like I did most likely.

Statik feels very real. It's a puzzle game where your hands are stuck in a box. More than once I snapped audibly at the scientist sitting in the same room, especially when he hilariously started to slurp coffee with a super annoying whistling sound. The game is funny, with humor reminding me of Portal. Also the game does not help you with the puzzles At. All. You're completely on your own, and that only added to my immersion. Highly recommend this for people who enjoy sitting down with conundrums. Expand

I found this game to be wonderfully surreal and truly immersive, and one of the best VR experiences I've had. The use of VR is integral to the design and doesn't feel "tacked on" like some games do, and the controls make the game interesting and wonderfully tactile.

I'd completed the game inside 4 hours (including breaks for food, phone calls, etc) which, as a very casual gamer, felt perhaps a little shorter than I would have liked. That being said it is by no means TOO short; there are plenty of levels, the fact that you have to figure out what to do by experimentation is a fantastically refreshing way of playing, and there are a few trophies left for me to go back and get so there is some replay potential there.

Without wanting to drop any spoilers, the game sets you always sitting in one spot as a part of the plot which means even VR newbies can rest assured that they won't be experiencing VR/movement sickness, which I must admit has been a problem with other games which I am still easing myself into.

All in all this is a great game and well worth the money; I thoroughly enjoyed the surreal feel, the original premise and story line, and the puzzles were engaging enough without being so difficult I felt like giving up.

Statik is an excellent puzzle game where you have to work out the rules of every puzzle box before you can solve it. It is very refreshing and offers a surprising amount of immersion for a seated DS4 game.

My only complaint would be the game is really short, making it a 'pick up in a sale only' kind of title.

This game has been the best introduction to VR (Together with Beat Saber).
Every single guest I've had who tried this game, didn't want to stop playing.
My only complaint of this game, is that it is too short. I hope the devs will make a sequel.

One of the best vr puzzle I've played. Surpasses 'The Room vr' and 'I Expect You To Die', both in the utilising the dual shock into the puzzle box your hands are trapped inside, to the satisfaction you feel every time you solve a section. I can only hope that somehow they many to make a second game for the PSVR 2.

Statik is a superb example of a puzzle game, intelligent, immersive and lots of fun to play. The subtle story woven through is interesting, the puzzles challenging without being too frustrating. VR is used superbly as an integral part of the experience and not a tacked on gimmick. Definitely worth picking up for anyone who owns a PlayStation VR.

This disconcerting gem is a stimulating puzzler, and a well-judged use of PS VR, with a richly ambiguous story. It's not the longest game around, but it'll linger in your memory for weeks. [July 2016, p.80]
