This game will have INCREDIBLY long legs and be played by many people for many years. It has a vibrant community and a lot of depth and challenge for people wanting to do everything. Me, my wife, and my daughter all love this game!

The fact that it was developed by one person seems impossible as the game begins to show it's layers. It's certainly not going to be for everyone, but if you like sim games of any kind, you've got to give Stardew Valley a shot. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. 10/10 Expand

Now this game is upgraded with a lot of new stuff, has it's own art style and made by chucklefish. We need to appreciate His work, He made a great game, very expanded game that really deserves this 10/10. Sad thing is that this game may be missed by a lot of gamers and won't be getting as much attention as it deserves.

PS. When I saw trophies for Stardew Valley on my ps4 I saw shared list for ps4/vita. So I think a vita version or a cross buy is coming :)

To all of you who think this "just a farming game". It's not. It is a game about human relationships, exploring your limits, finding your true self... and farming.

Technically, the game works perfectly. Controls are easy to learn. No noticeable bugs, what-so-ever.

There is just nothing negative about this game that I can find. At all.

    Highly recommended.

I would have paid 110 dollars for this game. Replete with content and wide open enough to allow you to be whatever you want, Stardew Valley is the time sink that I needed. Aside from a few slightly clunky handling issues with the cursor, this game is an absolute masterpiece. At $15 it should be an automatic purchase, but be warned, once you start you won't want to stop playing. At 90 hoursI would have paid 110 dollars for this game. It's such a gentle game, and the activities so peaceful that you don't realise how addictive it gets. The day/night cycle is perfect, you can't help just living one more day, to check how your crops are, or catch one more fish, or discover something new about one of your neighbours. This is such a deceptively clever game, because it's really all about life and enjoying the simple things, without ever ramming the concept down your throat. I am absolutely delighted by this game! Crack cocaine is slightly less addictive than Stardew Valley. Pros: no micro transactions. Cons: you'll get glued to your controller and forget to eat and sleep during 48 hours after starting up the game.

I love this game SO MUCH. I grew up playing Harvest Moon, but they haven't made a good version of it in a long, long, long, long time. Stardew Valley is even better than all of the really good Harvest Moon games. More customization. More storylines. More characters. More everything! I love it. Recommend to anyone and everyone!

This game is an instant classic. I grew up playing the Harvest Moon games and this really brings me back to those times. So much to do and achieve. Although, I wish there was more to do end game after you've made all this cash, saved the community center and so on. Nevertheless, there are very few games where I've clocked over 150 hours. Worth your money if you're into this kind of game.

One of my most favourite games of all time !!
A true spiritual successor to another favourite of mine (Harvest Moon) this game sees you inherit a farm from your now deceased grandfather and move to the town of Stardew Valley from the big city.
You are tasked with returning this farm back to its former glory and you can do this anyway you would like but I would say becoming well rounded

You are tasked with returning this farm back to its former glory and you can do this anyway you would like but I would say becoming well rounded and doing up all skills so you can get all of the unlocks to help you become the pillar of the community and get the most out of the game.
The usual foraging, resource collecting and wooing of a potential partner is all part of the process as in harvest moon though there is so much more within this game that has taken this to a much higher level of quality game than that franchise. Also add in the fact there has been lots of free content added as well as well as coop and you really will get your bang for your buck if you pick this game up. I even have it on my MacBook as well as PS4 and have put a lot of hours in on both versions.
10 out of 10 for me and a game that if you like this genre or as I said before the Harvest Moon franchise then there is a lot on offer to you in this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Stardew Valley is one of those games where I don't understand why I play it so much. Spending time growing crops, meeting the town people, and mining ore all sounds pretty boring but from the art style to the music Stardew has easily won of the nicest games I've ever played. I started Stardew Valley with a crap farm and a few seeds, but after 30 hours I have 20 animals, a huge house, a wife, and have gotten to the bottom of the mine, yet I still want to continue playing, and it's a game you can technically play forever. It continues to make me want to go back and do something else in the beautiful valley from going to the fair or fixing the community center. Feeling like a perfect version of Harvest Moon but better. If you're looking for a clam game to just play Stardew is perfect, it doesn't have the annoying waiting of animal crossing or any microtransactions that this game would have had it been made by a AAA studio. Some people may not like this style of game and that's ok but to me it's perfect. P.S there aren't any microtransactions in this game! Expand

In almost any way and aspect.
Its charming, chilled, rewarding, deep, mysterious, just plain and simple fun, no matter how you Play it or what you do to spend your ingame time, harvesting, mining, fishing, exploring, all makes sense, gets you Progress and gets you more and more attached to your farm, the game world and his inhabitants.
The graphics are extremely good, so is the Soundtrack. And aside from some small control issues (that could be fixed) theres hardly any Point to criticise about this game.
The lack of German Texts is by far the biggest fault the game has so far (im from Europe and the game is just in english which is a shame for the not english speaking or younger audience) - although the PC Version got patched so theres hope for a console languaga patch as well.
Small control issues aside the only real drag is the Overall lack of Information you get as a Player but this is very well part of the Experience.
Stardew Valley wants to be explored, tried out and experienced on your own. And although some may think that the start (almost the two first years) is very dragging since Progress is so slow, its exactly this that makes you grow so attached to what you built up in the game - the Progress you make really feels like its earned. And no matter what you do in the game, theres no "wrong" or "false decision" to make, or even a "false way to Play" ... StardewValley always rewards you for everything and anything.
Stardew Valley creates not only a warm and just good Feeling while playing, its simply put a one of a Kind experience, a true successor of all that made Harvest Moon such a classic, also evolving and expanding on it in just the right ways.
Its one of the best Indie Games ever made, and one that you can Play for hours on end or just a few minutes in between. No matter what Kind of gamer you are, StardewValley is a masterpiece that just deserves to be in anyones game library.

Alongside much lengthier save times at the end of days, the interface issues are irksome enough to mar the special, very real sense of escapism Stardew Valley can so masterfully afford. Still, that escapism is so strong it’s impossible to ignore. [March 2016, p76]
